Chuck C. Johnson CENSORED on Facebook! Oh the Humanity!

Why’s everybody always pickin’ on Chuck?
Humor • Views: 62,616

Our cyberstalker pal Chuck C. “Rage Furby” Johnson (seen above in an amazingly gross photo) now finds himself suspended from Facebook, and he’s whining furiously about it: CENSORED on $FB! Banned From Facebook For 30 Days For Posting Donald Trump’s #Brussels Foreign Policy.

Aw, the poor guy. Censored again. Why does this just keep happening to our friend the Rage Furby, when all he’s doing is posting an innocent “paraphrase of Donald Trump’s foreign policy?”

GotNews.com editor-in-chief Charles C. Johnson has been banned from Facebook for thirty days for posting a paraphrase of Donald Trump’s foreign policy.

The first time Johnson was kicked off was for revealing that a State Department official in charge of refugee policy was in the Ashley Madison database.

While Johnson’s account was ultimately restored by Facebook’s Katie Harbath, who serves as Global Politics and Government Outreach Director, GotNews.com’s Facebook account with over a 1,000 likes was deleted without explanation.

The second time Johnson was banned was for posting a joke on his personal Facebook page:

“In the multicultural melting pot Muslims are that explosive new ingredient!”

Now Johnson has been suspended for posting a paraphrase of Donald Trump’s statement after the attacks in Brussels.

Over and over they censor him for no reason, even though he writes about himself in the third person! Charles C. Johnson (who is NOT ME) is being persecuted mercilessly! After all, he’s the Rosa Parks of 2016, people!

At some point someone is going to want to be the Rosa Parks of internet freedom and anti-corporate censorship.

What sort of totally innocent paraphrase did he post that caused them to unjustly send him to the back of the Internet bus, just like Rosa Parks?

So all he did was call for mass deportations and label Muslims “savages” who should be killed? How unfair!

I think he should sue.

He keeps posting the same lame, tired, racist/misogynist/stupid shit. He keeps getting suspended and banned. And he keeps complaining about it. A normal person would learn, maybe after a time or two. But this one, he’s … special.

I don’t think CCJ’s views or mental capacity are all that unusual. It’s about what to expect from an offensively stupid wingnut.

What is unusual is how visibly CCJ displays these deficiencies to the rest of the world via social media.

I like this quote from the linked article. Quoted speaker is a staff writer for the Weekly Standard (conservative).

Let me state flatly and unequivocally that if Donald Trump is the nominee, Hillary Clinton’s floor in the electoral college is 400 votes. That’s the floor, number one. Number two, kiss the Senate goodbye. I mean, it’s not even going to be a close call. It will be a bloodbath. Number three, and this is a little more controversial at this point, but I would give the Republicans no better than 40 percent odds hold the House of Representatives.

This guy is an abject disaster for the Republican Party in November, there is no other way to put it. And the notion that he’s going to bring in some tranche of voters is just a complete fiction, for two reasons: number one, there aren’t enough of them, okay?

Twitter did the same thing - Chuck had several suspensions before they got fed up and kicked him out permanently. A 30-day suspension is probably Facebook’s last chance - his other Facebook suspensions have been very temporary. This time they’re sending a message to clean up his act or else.

Of course, he won’t clean up his act. He can’t. It’s not an act.

Not so sure about that. Some examples of Coulterspeak:

“I was going to have a few comments about John Edwards but you have to go into rehab if you use the word faggot.”

“We should invade their countries, kill their leaders, and convert them to Christianity.”

“My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building.”

“I think the government should be spying on all Arabs, engaging in torture as a televised spectator sport, dropping daisy cutters wantonly throughout the Middle East and sending liberals to Guantanamo.”

What you should do is blow a couple eggs and sanitize the insides of the shells (ah, for the good old days when you didn’t have to do that so thoroughly.) Melt some chocolate and refill the shells with it. Place eggs in basket and when your child is confused about the actual chicken eggs in they got, suggest cracking one. Chocolate!

edit: probably best to do this with a child old enough to understand that the rest of the eggs in the fridge are filled with egg, not chocolate. Of course, if your kids are really young you don’t have time to mess around with refilling eggs anyway.

Some workers returned to their offices to find personal belongings and government equipment gone, including money and cameras, Holm said.

So they’re common thieves too.

They probably figured it was all theirs because they were “the people” and they paid for it all with their taxes.

I was half listening to something on NPR last night on the way home about the GOP convention. That before the convention actually starts the rules committee and various other folks get together to vote on the rules for the convention. This would include procedures, who can nominate, all that kind of stuff. Both parties do it, it’s almost always been routine business, the media and press don’t even bother to cover it.

She expects that it will be different at the GOP convention this year. I can already hear the Conspiratorial Whine of Butthurtz Wingnuts*.

Yea, but I thought the big deal was that a reunited GNR was going to get in on that gravy train. I can’t say that I’ve been paying attention, but what happened to that?

Still on, AFAIK. Not supposed to go out until Summer, though.

The AC/DC shows should be well wrapped by that time. OTOH, Angus has said he’d like to do a couple more years before hanging it up. He’d probably do better if he found a youngster who wouldn’t rock the boat - or demand a big paycheck.

I really hope it’s just for the 10 shows, and then Angus announces it’s over.

That said, I know what bands like his get paid on the festival circuit. There’s a lot of incentive to keep going. Big, neatly-bundled piles of incentive.

The Young brothers sure did have some long careers in the Rock’n’Roll business though.

I wonder if people know that oldest brother George was a member of the Easybeats and then later was instrumental in helping manage his two younger brothers in AC/DC.

I always liked this Easybeats tune. George is to the left of the lead singer and next to the drummer. You can tell he is a Young.

I threw away my left over deli ham earlier this week & kind of forgot about it. I went to the store this afternoon & returned to a house that is stanky. Like bad. I cleaned everything out & I think it’s getting better. But WTF happened? Was it a slow stank or an immediate one?

Reminds me of a classic Project Runway with Tim Gunn. I can’t find the clip (which would be the best, but here’s a transcript)

When Tim saw one of the pieces, a coat trimmed with long, black hair-extensions he said, “my gag reflex is kicking in.” That pretty much sums it up. Tim also used the euphemism of a zoo’s monkey house. When you first step in it stinks to high heaven. As you spend more time in there you stop smelling it. Tim said March has been in the ‘monkey house’ too long,

I really get the sense of a guy who is, by his own admission (“I’m on the spectrum” he once said) very smart but not very intelligent. Does that make sense? I don’t want to accuse CCJ of being autistic, and I don’t want to malign a community of people and families, but there is something definitely misconnected about Chuck. Good god! Why didn’t that happen?!

I think the band decided on using a fellow Australian (and friend of Hutchence) named Jimmy Barnes, and it apparently just fell apart.

But D’Arby was notoriously temperamental. He accused his producer and label of ‘sabotaging’ his ‘Neither Fish Nor Flesh’ album, and he was so mad he declared Terence Trent D’Arby ‘dead’ and legally changed his name to Sananda Maitreya.

So who knows, really? Could have been great, though.

I don’t know You Am I or The Lime Spiders, but will look up—thanks! I posted Radio Birdman above. My favorite is Paul Kelly. He’s kind of the 3-chord poet laureate of Australia. For pub rock check out the Weddos.

Yes! I forgot Paul Kelly! I’ve got a shelf in an Ikea CD shelf (that they don’t make any more, dammit) that’s devoted to You Am I and Paul Kelly. First thing I bought by Kelly was the ‘Words And Music’ CD and worked backwards and then forwards from there.

One Aussie band I never got the hang of was Split Enz, although I liked Crowded House.

re: #140 Barefoot Grin

I have my doubts about his claims, because he’s shown a lot of social skill in professionally trolling himself into a weird sort of fame, and keeping himself there*. He’s not smart enough to capitalize on it, but on this chart:

1. Be an asshole on the internet
2. ??
3. Profit!

He’s fumbling at step 2 and 1/2. Step 3 may never happen, Insh’Allah, but if he manages to focus his bullshit and lock into a Grift Groove like the Coulters and Limbaughs of the world, he’s not going away unless somebody decides to make it personal.

He may well troll himself right into a black bag in a cold room if he sticks with the personal attack business model though. Pushback is a bitch, and someday he’s going to dox a woman with an angry Marine for a boyfriend…

*Edit: I must note that this is purely a matter of luck. Captain Shitbeard happened to come into his piss-and-vinegar know-nothing twenties right in the golden age of uncontrolled social media, when any dog can pee on any hydrant at will. A couple of years from now, he’s going to have no platform at all. I figure he has that long to secure himself a job in radio or writing books.

Heh. My first big concert…The Bee Gees and the Cowsills at the Ohio State Fair. “Gotta get a message to you” and “Indian lake” were the big hits!

The Bee Gees were quite good. Dudes could sing. They had a fairly large orchestra section with them too. Even the Cowsills were fun. Heck, I was only 13 or 14. It was my first big band live show.

Censored on $FB! Banned on Facebook for 30 days for posting “kill the savages” (#Trump foreign policy)

GotNewsDotCom editor-in-chief Chuck C. Johnson has been banned from Facebook for 30 days for posting a paraphrase of Donald Trump’s foreign policy.

It’s not the first time Johnson has been banned from Facebook. Or from Twitter. YikYak may be next. Who knows?

His first Facebook ban was for posting the allegation that a State Department official was in the Ashley Madison database. While he was able to regain his account, the Facebook account of his blog the cornerstone of his media empire, GotNewsDotCom (which is not us!), was deleted. The world wept.

The second ban was for this little witticism in his FB status:

“In the multicultural melting pot Muslims are that explosive new ingredient!”

Hahaha! I crack me up!

This latest ban is all because of the German government telling Facebook to police anti-Muslim hate speech. This may not seem like a big deal at the moment, but the American and German economies are intertwined and German has the second largest number of Wikipedia entries after English.

President @barackobama visited the @parquedelamemoria in #BuenosAires earlier today with President Mauricio Macri of Argentina, where the two leaders walked alongside this wall engraved with the names and ages of 20,000 victims of Argentina’s “dirty war” — plus 10,000 blank spaces for those who have yet to be identified. @barackobama expressed regret for the failure of the U.S. to acknowledge the brutal repression and atrocities that took place during the way, in the 1970s and ’80s. “There’s been controversy about the policies of the United States early in those dark days,” he said at the monument, where he attended a ceremony for the 40th anniversary of the 1976 military coup that began the Argentine dictatorship. @crowleygraph, a @nytimes staff photographer, has been traveling with @barackobama during his trip to Cuba and Argentina. “…According to the policy on their website, “firearms and other weapons of any kind are strictly forbidden on the premises of Quicken Loans Arena.”

This is a direct affront to the Second Amendment and puts all attendees at risk. As the National Rifle Association has made clear, “gun-free zones” such as the Quicken Loans Arena are “the worst and most dangerous of all lies.” The NRA, our leading defender of gun rights, has also correctly pointed out that “gun free zones… tell every insane killer in America… (the) safest place to inflict maximum mayhem with minimum risk.”

I don’t reckon on many of Bernie’s hardline supporters actually accepting Clinton as a candidate even if she adopts the demanded policy positions. They’ll accuse her of cynically trying to co-opt their positions.
That’s why it’s important that Sanders endorses Clinton. Without that crucial piece of support, none of her tactical leftward moves will make much of a difference to the Sandbaggers.
The question is, how much of a dick is Bernie prepared to be?

The best thing that could happen to the GOP would be for them to lose by a landslide come November.

If Trump wins, then we’re all fucked.

If Trump loses, but they keep Congress and local legislatures, its 4 more years of them slowly screwing everyone and polarizing the nation even more, and angry Trump voters blaming them for the loss.

If they lose, and lose big, then just maybe the GOP will wake the fuck up and pull themselves out of the death spiral they’re in and realize they need to listen to people besides angry ignorant White Christians.

The GOP needs to lose, and lose hard, for themselves and the nation to have a better future.

At this point, we need the very best case scenario, namely a loss that not only crushes Trump, but actually does so by putting play red states and the House majority into play. Where there is no good news in the polls, like the GOP telling themselves “If only we’d won more white people…”

Yeah, it’s starting to blow up online. I saw it first mentioned on DU; apparently, the National Enquirer has run a story on it. I also saw it over at Conservative Treehouse…..according to some of the comment posters there, Breitbart had the story a couple of months ago and sat on it, as the chap who owns Breitbart is a big-time Cruz contributor.

Nothing like a good, juicy, salacious scandal. I’ll be interested to see how the Cruz campaign responds. While it is from the NE, a notorious tabloid, let’s bear in mind they also broke the Gary Hart affair as well as the John Edwards affair as well - and apparently, the NE reporter on the Cruz allegations is the same reporter who broke the Edwards story.

Interesting times, indeed.

Seeing lots of chatter that Breitbart had the Cruz story going back possibly months, but that Ben Shapiro quashed it to keep Cruz in the race.

A few days later Allum Bokhari published a ridiculous piece about Ted Cruz having a favorite My Little Pony character. Honestly the evidence that Breitbart had the story at all is pretty thin so far. Allum isn’t being very specific and may well just be trying to inflate his reputation a la Chuck C. Johnson, claiming to have been more involved in a breaking scandal than he really was. If they did have it Shapiro may just be a convenient scapegoat for why they didn’t publish it, given his falling out with Breitbart management he certainly would make for a tempting one.

That said a few circumstantial breadcrumbs do exist, and Breitbart going to a blank white page, instead of even issuing the plausible deniability of a “down for maintenance” message, or taking the server offline all together, smacks of an organization in crisis mode.

Anyway, I’d caution against making too many assumptions or drawing any real conclusions at this point.

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate that Batman slapping Robin meme?

Robin is a kid. Batman is a grown up adult. Adults should not be beating kids, even in comic books.

The Batman slapping Robin meme is humor. Humor is subjective. I like that meme. I think it is funny. I also like the Adolf Hitler Bunker parodies.

Nobody considers Robin to be a kid. To equate that meme to condoning the beating of kids is hyperbole, IMHO, and smacks of the type of complaint that gives Political Correctness a bad name.

The ad hominem charge of “being PC” and “you are a SJW” is so easily thrown out by people when more tangible issues are being discussed.

Sometimes I step back from my right-rage and consider how well Obama and his team has done overall. Could you imaging how much better the US and the World would be if the right were only slightly less obstructive. In some cases the right has been committing acts against the US foreign policy.

No. If Trump had this waiting in the wings he wouldn’t have issued a threat and wouldn’t have retweeted that cheap photo comparison denigrating Heidi’s appearance. He’s actually not smart at all, but he has been incredibly lucky so far, finding a time when his brand of cocksure bullying overcompensation and willingness to openly pander to white racists aligns near perfectly with the GOP’s ignorant as fuck, hate filled shit-heel base.

Batman fans are all like, “Batman is a good guy, he doesn’t kill people.”

A.) Could you possibly lower the bar any further?

B.) I’m pretty sure he kills people all the time. You can’t just choke motherfuckers out, destroy joints, break long bones and ribs without occasionally causing some poor bastard to throw a fatal embolus / thrombosis, have a heart attack, stroke out, develop pneumonia, etc.

I am out of the whole loop on comic book arguments, but this reminds me of cases in TV shows where the hero doesn’t kill. In “Person of Interest” the main character, Reese, would only shoot people in the leg!
Started to watch “Daredevil” last night. He didn’t kill, but the beatings were epic! I am sure it took months to recover from the concussions, bruising, and broken bones.

I’d caution against Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc reasoning. Ted Cruz always looks nervous and or odd, after all the guy only barely exists on the near side of the Uncanny Valley.

Also, the thing Trump was most likely referring to with “spill the beans” was Heidi Cruz’s struggle with depression. There’s a police report out there where a cop who responded to a report of her sitting in her car looking despondent wrote down he thought she was a “danger to herself.”

Liz Mair, the co-founder of “Make America Awesome,” tweeted later Tuesday that the Trump campaign had been “pushing around rumors” about Heidi Cruz’s mental health “for weeks.”

goddamnedfrank  Mar 25, 2016 • 2:28:34am

Trump was almost certainly signaling an attack Cruz via his wife’s history with depression. An absolutely despicable tactic.

Attacking Heidi Cruz for Her Depression Is a Disgraceful Move

“About a decade ago, when Mrs. Cruz returned from D.C. to Texas and faced a significant professional transition, she experienced a brief bout of depression,” Jason Miller, a Cruz adviser, explained to Coppins and Apper. “Like millions of Americans, she came through that struggle with prayer, Christian counseling, and the love and support of her husband and family.”

Cruz herself has decided she doesn’t want to talk about what she went through. According to a source close to her, Coppins and Apper wrote, she “was not ashamed to talk about her experience… [but] ultimately decided against it because she didn’t want to minimize the struggle of those who suffer from depression their entire lives by trumpeting her own happy ending.”

I absolutely do not believe Trump was involved with leaking the the sex scandal story, he just got lucky once again.

Love Agent Carter. It’s easy to see Peggy Carter as the prototype for the strong female characters elsewhere in the MCU. Agents of SHIELD wanders about a bit. Very uneven.

But the conceit is that Agents of SHIELD is setting up for the Inhumans movie down the road.

I’m actually a fan of the DC Legends of Tomorrow. It’s got a pretty good cast, and I’m a big fan of Wentworth Miller (Prison Break) and Arthur Darvill (from Dr. Who) along with Victor Garber (Alias). They’ve even had some crossover with Arrow.

35th anniversary for “Escape from New York” is coming up, I am sure we are all planning our own private celebrations.

Carpenter is a leftist filmmaker who said he made “Escape From New York” in the mid-1970s as a response to Watergate. That one is a bit of a head-scratcher, since the president (Donald Pleasence, who has an unexplained British accent) isn’t said to be corrupt. He is merely the victim of a gang of vicious left-wing kidnappers, who have named themselves after the communist insurgents the National Liberation Front, better known as the Viet Cong. The terrorists demand freedom for the prisoners of New York or they will kill the president.

Trump does real estate. Usually with other people’s money. Highly leveraged, so he doesn’t put his own money up. That’s about the only thing he knows, and even there, it’s usually about branding stuff other people built. Like the Trump hotel in DC - he didn’t build it. That was the US Government, which originally built the post office. He’s taking part in turning it into a hotel.

So no, he didn’t build that.

Yes, but despite her black heart Ann Coulter still writes in coherent sentences. Am I still dreaming?

I go to sleep for a while and wake up to find a claim that Cruz has been boffing Trump’s bullet-laden spokes-kook, among others. Free Republic is so scared of the story they have pulled, and apparently banned, it. It still sounds too good to be true, not for the sleazy attack on Cruz, but for the epic derp-brawl that is sure to result.

Oh, well, I’m awake now. I’ll make some coffee and popcorn and see how it plays out.

If indeed the story does pan out (and I’m sure the MSM has people looking into it even as I type this) the derp-brawl is going to one for the history books. FR pulled it for now because at the moment, it’s just allegations from a tabloid newspaper. But if there ends up being more to it, which we might find out in the not-too-distant-future, there will be no way to avoid the issue and the shit’s gonna hit the fan big-time.

Sadly, the Trump Wall won’t stop Russian cruise missiles either, and the Russian Navy is fitting out some of its Akula-class attack boats with the same type of cruise missile that they ran in on Daesh:

The upgrade of Russia’s Project 971 Bars (‘Akula’)-class nuclear-powered attack submarines will arm them with Kalibr 3M-54 (SS-N-27A ‘Sizzler’) anti-ship missiles, Viktor Kochemazov, chief of the Russian Navy Training Department, told the RSN radio channel on 21 March. “Now, the upgrade of the Project 971 submarines provides for equipping them with the Kalibr system,” he said.

The weapon “proved itself” during trials, according to Kochemazov. “Its use by the Rostov-on-Don diesel-electric submarine showed that the system is facing bright vistas in terms of further development,” he said.

He is likely to have been referring to the 8 December 2015 strikes on Syria conducted by the Project 636.3 Improved ‘Kilo’-class diesel-electric submarine Rostov-on-Don . According to the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) at the time, this boat conducted Russia’s first-ever submarine-launched cruise missile strikes on 8 December when it fired four 3M-14 land attack variants of the Kalibr missile from the Mediterranean into Syria.

Right so maybe there’s some smoke to the fire here. Cruz wouldn’t be the first moral than thou type to be revealed to be an adulterer.

When the comparisons to Bill Clinton start, we can say “We’re not the ones pushing this. But at least Bill didn’t wonder around condemning everyone else’s private life.”

He handled the Bully TRUMP® so well he might still endorse him. Yeah…that tough. You go Cruz!

Correct, that’s what I said and felt when David Vitter was revealed too and the numerous other sexual hypocrites. I’ve long felt that I wouldn’t be bothered by the hypocrisies of GOP members if they wren’t so busy talking about how they’re moral and liberals, LGBT,s, and other people aren’t.

In Syria and Iraq, the Islamic State is in retreat on multiple fronts:

Liz Sly of the Washington Post has an unusually optimistic report about the fight against ISIS today. She reports that both Palmyra and a string of villages in northern Iraq are being overrun by US-backed forces:

These are just two of the many fronts in both countries where the militants are being squeezed, stretched and pushed back….Front-line commanders no longer speak of a scarily formidable foe but of Islamic State defenses that crumble within days and fighters who flee at the first sign they are under attack.

The Republican candidates are going to have to look for a new “existential” threat.

I don’t think it will work. Hillary has had every pie thrown in her face that could be baked. It is all old stuff.

People are increasingly getting sick of Trump’s BS. His favorable numbers with women are in the 30 percentile. If he attacks on stuff outside of politics people, other than his idiots butt kissing followers, will just tune it out more and more and say “Is that all he has, all he can do?”

And The Clinton’s haven’t even begun to roll out their troops. We all know they can be pretty tough and they will fight back the Clinton relationship with Trump’s own well known record of marital messes. And then they will really attack him on his business failures and his pomposity about all his greatness which isn’t all that great.

No, I don’t think Trump scares the Clinton Army at all.

Deepest field ever.™

Deepest field of baffling BS ever hurled by one party against the wall. The GOP field of extremists was large (by number of candidates), but it was shallower than an ephemeral pond in a Texas drought.

Trump and Cruz are the epitome of the GOP rot. They’ve spent years pushing irrational hate, fear, and anger, and Trump and Cruz are the result. If Cruz flames out as a result of a still unsubstantiated sex scandal, that means the GOP nominee will be a guy who’s never run anything other than a family business he was born into and whose toxic ideology mirrors the GOP platform. He’s just a whole lot more blatant in his ideas - particularly since he makes it easy to follow for a 4th grader to follow (no SAT words like ephemeral in his vocabulary - especially on the campaign trail).

“…Presidential candidate Ted Cruz’s tax proposals, which include cutting taxes for most individuals and replacing the corporate income tax with a flat 16 percent business tax, would reduce federal revenue by $8.6 trillion over a decade and “almost surely depress the economy over the long run,” according to a policy study and its authors.

Cruz’s plan would benefit wealthy taxpayers “dramatically” and raise taxes slightly for some people in the bottom fifth of low-income taxpayers, according to the report by the Tax Policy Center, a research group in Washington, D.C. The center is a joint project of the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution.

Ohio Johnny is looking better to the GOP all the time!

And no one thought he’d be around after the first debate way back when. Everyone flew right over the fly-over-country candidate. That’s Ohio. Forget all about it and then bam!

Heheheee.

1) True or not, this has all the earmarks of a ratfck by a career ratfcker, and I would be willing to hazard a guess that the “Washington insider” quoted by the National Enquirer is an old Nixon hand whose name rhymes with “Dodger Drone.”

2) The Enquirer itself is run by the aptly monickered David Pecker, who is a longtime Friend Of The Donald.

3) Not enough people remember Jimmy Swaggart.

4) Not enough people have seen Elmer Gantry.

5) This campaign is nowhere near as nauseating as it’s going to get.

The bizarro world the NRA inhabits is one weird place:

If there’s good guys with the guns in the NRA comics, why not give the bad guys those same guns - you know, like they have in real life. Because who needs magic when you can pump Hansel and Gretel full of lead from a Ruger or Desert Eagle before turning them in to mincemeat pies.

Or magic to put Sleeping Beauty to sleep, when you can kill her outright. Or use drones with hellfire missiles to take out insurrectionist dwarves. ETC.

While the children are eating, the woman puts her gun to Hansel’s head, and tells Gretel “Put your gun on the table or your brother gets it.” After getting both of their guns, the story mostly continues as before, except now the woman has at least three guns.

And the cycle continues. But yeah, these “if only they had guns” scenarios ignore that the other person is going to have a gun. A gun is all about the element of surprise. It’s why that stupid 9/11 cartoon where the hijackers are blindsided by the cabin of passengers wielding guns is ridiculous. For all their talk about how they understand guns and we “gungrabbers” don’t, i think gun nuts show that they don’t understand how guns actually work that well at all.

I always point out that a lot of our CMOH winners have captured entire platoons of enemy forces with one guns. It’s not about how many people who has guns. It’s all about that element of surprise. I don’t care if someone has 0 guns or 100 guns, if someone gets the upper hand on you, the result is the same.

The omnipotent third person narrator is something of a dying breed in literature. A good skill to have though, in that it can make your storytelling unique from either first person or limited third person narration. Also, occasionally fun but probably only good for short stories is second person narration

The Little Girl and the Wolf (1939)

by James Thurber (1894-1961)

One afternoon a big wolf waited in a dark forest for a little girl to come along carrying a basket of food to her grandmother. Finally a little girl did come along and she was carrying a basket of food. “Are you carrying that basket to your grandmother?” asked the wolf. The little girl said yes, she was. So the wolf asked her where her grandmother lived and the little girl told him and he disappeared into the wood.

When the little girl opened the door of her grandmother’s house she saw that there was somebody in bed with a nightcap and nightgown on. She had approached no nearer than twenty-five feet from the bed when she saw that it was not her grandmother but the wolf, for even in a nightcap a wolf does not look any more like your grandmother than the Metro-Goldwyn lion looks like Calvin Coolidge. So the little girl took an automatic out of her basket and shot the wolf dead.

(Moral: It is not so easy to fool little girls nowadays as it used to be.)

I try and switch up as much as I can from story to story. The draft novel that I converted to a screenplay is first person. I did a short story in college in second person (after reading one), it’s tricky but it does give you a different way of thinking about story telling. I’m in the early stages of a novel (that I think I’ve mentioned vaguely here) that is probably going to be limited third person but with shifting perspectives among three main characters

Yeah. I don’t give a damn how many people are stupid enough to have sex with that bozo. His policies should keep him out of the presidency.

re: #642 HappyWarrior

I do limited third person myself. First person is hard for me to write. Second person though, I’ve never read a story like that but a colleague of one of my professor’s wrote a whole novel that way. Sounded interesting but your’e right, third person omipotent is a dying art form. I prefer third person limited because I want to be in my protagonist’s head but I want distance too.

My favorite is the unreliable narrator. It’s especially good for fan fiction, there’s always a character who everything he thinks he knows is wrong.

re: #643 The Vicious Babushka

Hey someone remembers James Thurber. Way to go VB!

He was Columbus born and is a big part of the city history. They did a restoration of one of his family homes right off downtown. I used to know a bunch of art students back in the ol’ college days that lived right across the street. It was a classic neighborhood with some great old turn of the Century homes.

Here is a link about Thurber House and some history on the humorist, caroonist and author.

Yuck. Ted Cruz and five women? Were they awake at the time?

With Trump’s bullet babe yet… Epic weirdness if true. These people are just plain weird.

Aristocrats.
