Breitbart “News” Finally Goes All-in on White Supremacism

The dead end of Breitbart’s hate site
Media • Views: 103,148

Of course it’s Milo Yiannopoulos (with his crony Allum Bokhari) who finally takes Breitbart “News” all the way over the line into overt white supremacism, with a lengthy, utterly disgusting article singing the praises of the “alt-right” movement — the latest term neo-Nazis, Gamergate trolls and white nationalists use to describe themselves: An Establishment Conservative’s Guide To The Alt-Right.

We’ve written about the so-called “alt-right” movement many times; the term was coined by infamous white nationalist Richard Spencer sometime around 2010, and has since been wholeheartedly adopted by the kinds of people who pollute sites like Twitter and Facebook with harassment, antisemitism and racist hate speech.

Yiannopoulos’ ugly apologia for racism doesn’t even try to hide that it’s a movement of knuckle-draggers and neo-Nazis; in fact, he openly exults in the fact, praising people like Pat Buchanan, Richard Spencer and Steve Sailer and websites such as VDARE and American Renaissance as “intellectual” — and shrugging off their virulent racism by saying it’s nothing but a leftist smear and doesn’t really exist. And he doesn’t shy away from the outright neo-Nazis who make up the core constituency of this movement, calling them the “1488rs” — a reference that combines two of the ugliest racist memes, the “14 words” of neo-Nazi terrorist David Lane and the number 88, a numerical reference to “Heil Hitler.”

In our many posts on the Breitbart “News” business model of encouraging hate speech and racism among their commenters, we’ve often compared the comment sections to the worst sewers of the Internet, places like Stormfront.

Now Breitbart “News” itself will forever be associated with racism and white supremacism. This is the dead end of right wing media, folks; the final Rubicon has been crossed.

I won’t even get into the comment thread for this one. It’s exactly what you’d expect.

I find it hard to believe how a gay man, well out of the closet and mildy flamboyant, can exalt in such a position with the alt-right community. They clearly don’t accept LGBT but will keep mum if Milo is out front dishing it out.

How he reconciles this internally is a great mystery.

Charles Johnson

I might say that if Breitbart was still alive, he would be ashamed, except I don’t think he had any shame. Heck he’d probably be so proud of them openly “speaking the truth.”

This makes me more glad than ever that I saw the light and walked away from the GOP. I also wished I had seen the light earlier.

There was this openly gay racist on youtube who went name “Fringe Elements.” He was so bad that he didn’t see a conflict between Jim Crow segregation and the Libertarian non aggression principal. People like them, only seem to understand what bigotry is, when it affects them. Truth is, through, if the Nazis that both people supported ever gained power, do they really think they wouldn’t turn on them as well?

“…Neoreactionaries appeared quite by accident, growing from debates on LessWrong. com, a community blog set up by Silicon Valley machine intelligence researcher Eliezer Yudkowsky. The purpose of the blog was to explore ways to apply the latest research on cognitive science to overcome human bias, including bias in political thought and philosophy.

LessWrong urged its community members to think like machines rather than humans. Contributors were encouraged to strip away self-censorship, concern for one’s social standing, concern for other people’s feelings, and any other inhibitors to rational thought.”

But as a gay man on the worst fringes of the Right, he gets to be a unicorn. A unicorn whose farts smell like he’d been eating sugar-free gummi bears, but a unicorn nonetheless.

I find it hard to believe how a gay man, well out of the closet and mildy flamboyant, can exalt in such a position with the alt-right community. They clearly don’t accept LGBT but will keep mum if Milo is out front dishing it out.

How he reconciles this internally is a great mystery.

Mildly flamboyant? He calls Donald Trump “Daddy”, for goodness sake. And he dresses like a wonky Don Johnson from “Miami Vice”. And he used his position in Breitbart to troll it’s readership about how much much he likes black cock up him. Virtually everything about him screams “flamboyant attention-seeking professional knob-end”.

As to how he reconciles it- he doesn’t have to. He’s in a privileged enough position not to have to deal with any consequences of his actions. Whether that remains the case, we shall see.

I must also add, speaking as a gay man myself, I think Milo is really playing with fire the way he’s trolling the Breitbart readership. I recognise the tropes he he’s playing with: the cliche of Nazis being homoerotic, and also the S&M elements. (Eg Trump = “Daddy”) He’s openly promoting fascism as a gay fetishistic porn fantasy, and doing it right in the face of an audience who cannot even accept the basic idea of a guy loving another guy.

If (Or, maybe, when) he puts a foot wrong, the reception Ben Shapiro got post-Breitbart will seem like an amicable disarrangement compared to what will happen to Milo.

All hope is lost! Too many idiots…and now they have this ‘net thing that lends support.

There was video in the previous thread that had former Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields being interview and she basically said she wrote confirmation pieces that told people what they want to hear. And she made it a point to say that is what her 18-30 year old target crowd wanted.

If that is the case, nothing is going to change, only get worse. When I was 18 to 30 I couldn’t read enough stuff about what I didn’t know. I wanted as much viewpoint away from my background and those I knew to understand a larger world view…not narrow it down.

Of course…Art college and some mind-altering substances may have played a part in the desire for expansion. : )

For those of you experiencing Night Sweats over the prospect of a Trump/Cruz presidency, the online betting shops have a different take:

Putting your money on Clinton

The “Wisdom of the Crowds” is not infallible. But we’re finding, more and more, that these indicators are in many ways more accurate than polls when it comes to predicting outcomes. People will say any shit that comes to mind to a stranger over the phone (we see that same phenomenon crop up here in the comments sections), but when it comes to plunking down their cold hard simoleons, folks tend to take a more … conservative … view of things.

So Hillary is at 3x the odds of Trump OR Cruz. But what’s poor old Joe Biden doing on the list at 1 cent? Jill? Is that you?

How did Bernie manage not to be on the ballot in the first place? Well, the DC Democratic party deadline for getting on the ballot and the DC municipal deadlines differ.

The D.C. Democratic Party missed a filing deadline with the D.C. Board of Elections on March 16, turning in registration documents for Sanders a day late.

A D.C. voter then filed a challenge against his registration, which is currently scheduled for an April hearing.

D.C. Democratic Party Chairwoman Anita Bonds on Wednesday predicted Sanders would compete in the District’s voting contest despite the challenge.

“Bernie will be on the ballot,” she said.

Bonds also noted that her party’s filing deadline is a few hours after the D.C. Board of Elections closes, so past filings have been turned in the following day.

The solution is to make sure that the candidate deadline for the parties is at least a day before the municipal deadline. A week or more would be even better.

I’ve been using the Mute feature more than Block, but the downside to that is that once you Mute somebody in Tweetdeck, if you have a really large Mute list, it’s pretty much irreversible because there is no way to search or order the Mutes.

I once got blocked by Gabe Ortiz because I argued with someone in one of his tweets. I’m sure he blocked us both, because I was agreeing with him. What I do with TweetDeck’s mute list: start dragging at the top of the list to select the beginning, then drag the scroll bar to the bottom and Shift-click at the bottom. This selects the whole list. Then you can copy it to the clipboard and paste it into a text editor, where you can search it.

Unfortunately, you can’t paste it back into TweetDeck, but if you’re searching for a particular name you can see where it is relative to the whole list, then scroll to approximately that position in TweetDeck and scroll up/down until you find it.

Still a pain, but if you have a large mute list (and mine is ridiculously large) this is the best way to find a specific name.

Here’s a question I’ve been pondering: is it better for Democrats if Donald Trump gets 1,237 delegates to win the Republican nomination on the first ballot, or is it better to hope for a brokered convention?

In all the polls, Trump is the weakest opponent against Democrats, losing by double digits to both Hillary and Sanders, so I’m fairly sure Democrats want Trump as the GOP nominee. Trump’s actual political views are a moot point, since I view his closest competitor, Cruz, as even worse than Trump (an extreme-right ideologue who knows his way around government is more dangerous than a buffoon). If Trump wins on first ballot, then it’s done. However, a brokered convention might do more to split the GOP and affect down-ticket races. The danger of a brokered convention might be that the establishment might somehow wrest the nomination away from Trump and hand it to someone more palatable, and therefore a stronger opponent for Democrats.

Hey just because this piece of work wrote about gamergate does not mean he represents it. I am a life long gamer and Democrat and I support gamergate. Milo used the controversy and the people in it as a springboard for his career, and to preach his messed up conservative principles. I have nothing but disdain for this guy.

If there’s anything worth “supporting” about Gamergate, it was long ago drowned in a tidal wave of misogyny, racism, and disgusting harassment of critics. Anybody who wants to see how terrible this so-called movement is can read this Wikipedia entry, and be prepared to be appalled: en.wikipedia.org

You may not think Milo is a representative of Gamergate, but you’re wrong. He’s turned himself into the de facto leader of this group of misanthropes. All you have to do to prove this is criticize him on Twitter, and see what happens.

re: #178 IHateYahoo

Gamergate refers to the controversy around a harassment campaign orchestrated primarily through the use of the Twitter hashtag typically styled “#GamerGate”, concerning issues of sexism and progressivism in video game culture. “Gamergate” is used as a blanket term for the controversy, the harassment campaign, and actions by those perpetrating the harassment.

I see both as a win/win. If they do end up in a brokered convention and pick X instead of Y then they’ll piss of Y’s supporters who may just sit out the election (real good chance of that this time even if pundits do line up behind the nominee). If they choose Z (the moderate) they’ll piss off X and Y’s supporters and even those predisposed to support Z would probably be pissed at the process and think someone was cheated. Then Z would have to completely distance themselves from EVERYTHING that happened in the primaries. After all they are going to be representing a party that allowed the sick shit we’ve seen all year.

If it’s Trump or Cruz I think we can beat either pretty easily. Down ticket may be another story but anything is possible.

Donald Trump’s announcement that he no longer stands by a pledge to support the GOP has thrown his hold on South Carolina’s 50 delegates in doubt.

The Palmetto State was one of several that required candidates to pledge their loyalty to the party’s eventual nominee in order to secure a slot on the primary ballot. Though Trump won all of the state’s delegates in the Feb. 20 primary, anti-Trump forces are plotting to contest their binding to Trump because of his threat on the pledge Tuesday.

I’m sort-of-tracking the criticism of Trump on this particular issue on RedState, and (to the extent that RS is representative of the crazy right-wingers who realize that Trump is uber-toxic to their brand) they are fairly open in saying that the problem is that he said it out loud.

E.g.:

Yesterday, Donald Trump made the worst possible hash out of a question on abortion that you could even imagine. He basically made Todd Akin, Richard Mourdock, and Christine O’Donnell look like seasoned veterans in terms of manipulating the media minefield of abortion questions.

The Left is constantly trying to gain advantage on this issue by asking the most difficult questions, and even pretty smart candidates (which Mourdock at least certainly was) can get tripped up.

Emphasis mine. They know full well that the consequence of their desired policy would be to punish women. Note that the question of miscarriage hasn’t even been raised here but it’s an obvious, obvious hammer blow to the feeble “punish the doctors instead” line of obfuscation.

re: #239 Fourth Football of the Apocalypse

In other news, after two weeks of sickness, I’m finally starting to feel almost normal.

I had the flu for a week+. Missed about four days of work. That was followed by a case of bronchitis. I’ve been fairly miserable, physically.

Still got a bit of a nagging cough, but it’s pretty minimal. Ready to visit the gym tonight.

Sounds like what went through our site, and the FBW clan. 5 out of 7 in my group got it, 4 of whom had been vaccinated for Flu. 3 of 4 among the FBWs, 2 of whom had been vaccinated.

Kept me off the bike for 3 weeks, and not even walking the dogs for 2 weeks. You can imagine the looks I got from them….

To illustrate my point, a bernieorbust poster at kos (wth 101 recs) on a diary called Charles M. Blow: “Bernie or Bust” is Bonkers

Talk about sanctimonious self-righteousness. Arrggh.

And stupid too!

I’m amazed at how many of these people do not realize how our system works. If you don’t have congress it doesn’t matter what you do, you will run into blockage of your plans.

But it is obvious they don’t know because they think Bernie as the President is going to bring a revolution. And then they blame Obama for the very thing that will happen to Bernie…especially if they do not work on getting a big change in congressional seats.

Our education system fails us. The younger voters are proving it.

I don’t think Priebus knows exactly who Trump is. Trump attended the meeting, but I just don’t see him taking any advice from anyone. He’s already said that he gets his advice from himself. I think Priebus wants Trump to tone it down, but that’s not who Trump is. He’s also already admitted to his tendency to “counter-punch” and get dirty when anyone threatens him in any way. I think if he attempts to become more moderate at this point, his dirty laundry will follow him. It’s all on videotape——all of his lies, walk-backs, and crass, violence-laden comments and his nasty attitude toward anyone he doesn’t like or has the nerve to even think of opposing him.

And always has been, since the first gripe was scratched down by an Egyptian merchant about five millenia ago. Quote:

Khakheperresonbe’s Complaints

A literary work compiled in the Twelfth Dynasty (1991-1783 b.c.e.) or in the Second Intermediate Period (1640-1550 b.c.e.), the surviving copy, dating to the New Kingdom (1550-1070 b.c.e.), is now in the British Museum in London. Khakheperresonbe was a priest in heliopolis and wrote on the popular theme of a nation in distress. He carries on a conversation with his heart and receives counsel for silent courage in the face of adversity. The complaints develops a dolorous cadence and is similar to, or perhaps a version of, the “debate of a man with his soul.” The work became the staple of schools and survived as a lesson board. Egyptians appreciated didactic literature as well as poetry and religious works.

Here are Baby Whiplash’s 3 Reasons Trump Was Wrong On Punishing Women For Abortion (so you won’t have to read his toxic article)
1. It makes the anti-choice movement look bad.
2. Women are silly beings who are too stupid to know “science facts” of a fetus having separate DNA from them.
3. Women are brainwashed and misled by the “abortion industry” into “killing their own babies” because they would never make this decision on their own.

All these Twitter pro tips are appreciated, especially will all the cross media posts.

Where I work, it fell to me to take the place E Commerce. We had a meeting today about how that is going and how to cope with all this “new media”. That quote is from my 64 yr old boss/CEO. No FB, Twitter, I print his emails for him etc.

Okay that moment when you simply must upend a set of perceptions or your proposals are DOA-I (joking tone here) pointed out that Twitter is old enough that if it were a person it would be in 5th grade. that email is old enough to run for a second presidential term, and that E commerce is now old enough to drink.

Convincing a 64 year old guy that having a fax number prominent in a print ad or web page send exactly the wrong message to every viewer still in their 40’s or younger is just not an easy sell. Hmmm wonder if I can get my boss’s 16 year old son to ask him what a fax is and why anyone would use one now?

I love all of this talk about “Revolution”, without the understanding that no matter what happens after the fact, the lower rungs of society will always be the ones most negatively affected.

Plus, anyone who thinks that the immediate aftermath of the American Revolution(say about 6 years worth) went well is pretty fucking dumb. Bernie or Busters who want to play with that fire can just get right the fuck out.

Well it’s possible that even the “limousine liberals” pulling this shit can be negatively affected.

Trump could go full fascist and arrest people who speak out against him and/or otherwise ruin their lives like Red Scare style blacklists, etc. He could start a war involving WMDs. She and no one like her would be drafted into that mess, but her fucking money and influence isn’t going to save her from a nuclear explosion in Manhattan.

Still I doubt she’s operating from a position where she thinks this is the result, and it’s completely unreasonable that an army of millennials who want safe spaces and trigger warnings on everything is going to rise up and rebel to stop it.

But then again she is being completely unreasonable, selfish, and stupid. She succeeded in reminding me why I hate the far left almost as much as the far right.

Annnd here we go with more, this time from Europe. Interesting how it’s never clear form the headline that the stories are bogus—clickbait, I suppose. Emphasis added:

Migration crisis: Hungarian government says EU cities have 900 no-go zones

Hungary’s rightwing government has claimed on a website that supports its upcoming anti-migrant quota referendum that there are 900 “no-go zones” in London, Paris, Stockholm and Berlin.

The government page entitled “We say no to mandatory migrant quotas” defines the 900 “no-go zones” as “neighbourhoods not under control, or hardly kept under control”, where “the norms of the host society … barely prevail”.

When asked to name the areas of London considered off-limits, government spokesman Zoltán Kovács told the Guardian: “Everything is based on publicly available data and sources.”

However, the Hungarian state ministry mainly cited blogs and conspiracy websites as evidence. […]

Reminds me of the trolls that show up here, make assertions, then when challenged either tell you to Google it or cite some unreliable source. That’s not how it works—at least not outside the RWNJ bubble—if you make a claim you need to back it up with facts, not “evidence” from biased blogs & conspiracy sites, FFS.

Was the word ‘Scheisskopf’ involved?

Takes me back—many years ago, one of my sister’s friends got a weimaraner and wanted to give it a German name. She registered it as Scheisskopf, not knowing what it meant and thinking it sounded good.

Once somebody informed her of the the meaning, the dog was forever thereafter known only as SK.

Hungary can go fuck itself.

Ironic, considering the history of the Hungarian people. They are not Indo-European, and do not originally come from the area.

Following up, I just got off the phone with Paola Baker who wrote the follow up today. “Deputies: No terrorists found after gunfire reported at Deep Creek”. I have contacted the Adelanto office of SBDO Sheriffs dept and was told the actual filed reports would not be available to the public. At all. I then asked about filing an FOIA request and got rather curtly referred to the main office.

Sigh. So the long way ‘round.

It’s like those who think Civil War may not be a bad thing. It’s so clueless.

Just did an interview with a reporter for the German newspaper Die Zeit, about conservative political sites like Breitbart, Redstate, etc., and about the GOP candidates in this election. You can probably imagine what I said.

I have a hunch it’s going to sound even better in German.

When I was a kid, our next door neighbors had 2 Weimaraners, both with German names, and every time I approached the fence, they scared the pee out of me with their barking and growling. They also had a bunny in a cage, and my cat snuck over and stole the bunny’s babies one by one. I had mixed feelings about that.

Just curious: Does he rant about Israel’s much more liberal abortion law, or is his snark reserved for the United States?

SUV fleeing police crashes into jet at California naval base

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — A wrong-way driver leading authorities on a high-speed chase crashed through a gate and into a fighter jet at a central California naval base, killing himself and a passenger, authorities said Thursday.
The Navy base does not appear to be an intended target, and the man and woman who died were not affiliated with the military, said Capt. Monty Ashliman, commander at Naval Air Station Lemoore. He said authorities are investigating what started the chase and how the driver broke through the secured gate.

Cruz now has a “Women for Cruz” coalition with his wife, his mother and former GOP hopeful Carly Fiorina.

Before a mostly male audience in Madison, Wis., Cruz made a pitch to female voters

Heidi Cruz:

“I want all of the women here in Wisconsin and across this country, to know how incredibly supportive … he has always been of all the women in his life,” she said. “I want you to know as voters he’ll be equally supportive of you and your families.”

A Las Vegas police K9 officer was shot and killed Thursday — just three weeks after he returned to duty following a machete attack that had sidelined him for a month.

Nicky, an 8-year-old Belgian Malinois, was killed in the line of duty when his human partner, Sgt. Eric Kerns, was involved in a confrontation Thursday afternoon, Las Vegas police said.

The suspect was shot, as well, said police, who didn’t immediately provide any further information. Witnesses told NBC station KSNV that the suspect was randomly shooting at people in the community.

Our education system fails us. The younger voters are proving it.

That’s because of the difference between the purported purpose of the educational system and its actual purpose.

The purported purpose of the education system is to turn out human beings suitable for citizenship. By this standard it is indeed a complete failure.

The actual purpose of the education system is to turn out human resources suitable for employment. By this standard it is quite successful.

The former is better for the nation but regarded as ‘so so’ by the ‘capitalists’ as a nation run by human beings will limit the ‘capitalists’ freedom of action along with taxing them fairly.

The latter is great for business and so is preferred by the ‘capitalists’. That a nation of human resources will fail rapidly taking their wealth with them isn’t a question they can entertain.

Hey just because this piece of work wrote about gamergate does not mean he represents it. I am a life long gamer and Democrat and I support gamergate. Milo used the controversy and the people in it as a springboard for his career, and to preach his messed up conservative principles. I have nothing but disdain for this guy.

As a game developer with 20 years experience, I can tell you that gamergate is trash, and is nothing more than a mob of idiots who are dedicated to the concept that people should be allowed and encouraged to be utter assholes to other humans on the internet, especially if their targets are feminists. The gamergate hate mob, in the launch of the protest, ended up driving several of my female coworkers and acquaintances off the internet and in a couple of cases, out of the industry altogether.

Yesterday, GamerGate drove a customer service representative from Nintendo out of the game industry for the high crime of being a woman and pointing out that gamergate is a hate mob driven by utter filth and neoconservative reactionary political leanings. GamerGate is, at its best, a bunch of repressed idiots who are terrified that games may start being designed for more diverse, international audiences, and are at worst nothing more than a manifestation of 8chan’s wall of cultural hatred, with a strong undercurrent of MRA and white supremacist filth lurking just beneath the surface.

Milo is the perfect mouthpiece for GamerGate.
