Lewandowski: Trump’s Handling of Battery Allegation Shows He’ll Be Tough on Terrorism

Because he isn’t afraid to say some magic words
Politics • Views: 52,942

Appearing on yet another one of those cookie-cutter right wing talk radio shows, Donald Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski repeats the outright lie that Michelle Fields said she was “thrown to the ground.” Lewandowski also says the fact that Trump backed him up and helped him evade prosecution shows that he’ll be “tough on terrorism,” because he isn’t afraid to say the magic words “radical Islamic terrorism.”

And everyone knows that’s what it will really take to put a stop to this whole terrorism thing, right? This election will be known henceforth as the “Magical Thinking Election of 2016.”

I heard something this weekend which finally clarified why my wingnut cousin’s FB likes seem to be growing more and more extreme.

The way Facebook works, you see more of what you click on, comment on, or like. Wingnut cousin started out with some of the less extreme Wingnut blogs, then worked his way through Breitbart and now is way out on the extreme end of crazy shit. I had thought he was seeking out crazier and crazier shit, but it turns out the crazier and crazier shit was seeking HIM.

This explains a lot of the comments I see on those threads, too. The folks who hang out there have gone through this distillation process, so all they see are other people who think the fake Obama student ID is REAL! and proof that he should be impeached!!! Same thing for Benghazi, Obamacare, what have you. If you tend to only click on things you agree with, you get isolated in an ever-purer bubble of like-thinking. It’s like those folks who couldn’t understand how someone got elected, because nobody they knew voted for him - except it’s on steroids.

I should have known this, but it hadn’t percolated through my brain. Thank you, Mark Zuckerberg, for your contribution to the corrosive partisanship that characterizes American politics today. Thank you SO BLOODY MUCH.

Bernie Sanders says he has not yet read the 28 pages that are redacted from a congressional report on 9/11 that a number of lawmakers are demanding be declassified — even though he has access to the pages.

Asked in an interview on “CBS This Morning” if he should read them if he’s running to be commander-in-chief, Sanders said, “The difficulty is, you see then, if you read them, then you’re gonna ask me a question, you’re gonna say, ‘You read them, what’s in them?’ And now I can tell you honestly I have not.”

I think the most generous interpretation of that is “if I read them, I would not be able to tell you what’s in them, and I’d rather be able to be completely open and honest with you about what I know.”

That’s a horrifyingly naive and alarming approach to sensitive material in general, and is completely disqualifying.

And if he’s president, he could order the declassification of that document, revise the classification system, etc.

There’s already talk that Obama would adjust some of the classification rules (as in the context of eliminating any trouble Hillary would be in for nonexistent violations of the classification rules as then existed with her private email server) before he leaves office.

It sounds like talk to me. Doesn’t sound like the kind of thing Obama does, period, and why do it if she’s not actually in trouble? That would actually just cause more focus on the issue. It’s not like Republicans haven’t issued investigations with regards to executive decisions by Democratic presidents.

• Tactical Pen Self Defence Glass Window breaker, This product can save your life!
• Strong durable self defensive Tool quality Aviation steel inspires confidence in your time of need.
• Tactical Stealth Pen writes beautifully and is still practical for daily use.
• Click on pointed pen lid designed to stay in your hand under combat conditions.
• Black ink 0.5 Ballpoint Easy Universal Refill, This pen also comes with a 300D density Nylon pouch.

Maybe we can chip in and get D_F one for Christmas. Y’know in case someone tries to sneak up on him while he’s typing or filling out paperwork or something. He can go all ninja on them, “Stand back!! I’m a good guy with a pen and I’m not afraid to use it!”

I live in Nebraska: Should I have just stayed out of the caucus? After all, the conventional wisdom is that the Democrats cannot win here anyway (though in the last election we did toss a Republican representative and replaced him with a Democratic one)?

Should we only have caucuses and primaries in safely Blue states?

That’s been my favorite part of the campaign season, a bunch of disaffected low-information independents learning what a political party is and what it does and how it works, and especially learning that the rest of us already knew that and have no problem with it.

This is really a case where “both sides do it” though. Some of Mrs. Clinton’s supporters have readily dismissed us in Nebraska and Wyoming (I live near the state line) just as some of Mr. Sander’s supporters have dismissed her wins in places like Alabama and Mississippi.

As far as I can tell, it is a small minority of supporters for both candidates. While I caucused for Mr. Sanders, I would proudly pull the lever for Mrs. Clinton should she win the nomination. (Hell, I would pull the lever for a tumbleweed at this point over the Dumpster fire on the R side.)

I’m deleting the internet until November if Hillary doesn’t win NY by 10+. Even if it were 9.9%, Bernie will try to tout it as a victory. Just so sick of this. He needs to concede after tomorrow.

Particularly, when in the process, they run roughshod over truly relevant internal business, like developing downticket candidates and developing local platforms.

I’ve honestly seen it far more from Sanders camp than hers. But I concede andecote and reality aren’t the same thing. I have no issue with you since you clearly see the big picture here.re: #78 Anymouse

Speaking strictly andecotely I’ve seen it far more from his than hers. I don’t have a problem with Sanders supporters voting for their guy at all but I don’t want to be insulted and told my region’s Republican anyway and Clinton’s wins mean little. My big point here is Bernie can’t crap on Clinton for winning the South while he has his share of wins in Republican regions and then there are those who insult African Anerican and Hispanic American voters by saying they’re stupid.

Well, I managed to hold onto my seat on my city council in the last election (I beat the gun shop owner by four votes) without help from even my county Democratic Party (and I am the only Democrat holding any elected office in my county).

While Mr. Sanders is showing a lack of interest in many candidates, the problem is not just with him.

I’ve come to agree more with that as this primary has run on. They’re nominating the best fit for their party. Different animal tha a general election. Anyhow I think you and I are on the same page and you misinterpreted my comments about Bernie’s win in your state as irrelevant which wasn’t my intention and I apologize if I meant any offense. And

Maybe we can chip in and get D_F one for Christmas. Y’know in case someone tries to sneak up on him while he’s typing or filling out paperwork or something. He can go all ninja on them, “Stand back!! I’m a good guy with a pen and I’m not afraid to use it!”

No, I was just using a “magic balance fairy argument” (both sides do it), when in reality one side is doing it more (Mr. Sander’s supporters).

Fortunately, I don’t have either a Faceplace or Tweeter account, so I don’t have to read derp in my Twitter feed or Facebook page.

The whole Lewandowski thing is not surprising. Drumpfskind is clearly appealing to fearful Americans in search of a strong man.

Sad, really.

Anyway, polls suggest that Drumpfskind will easily win NY tomorrow, and might even take all the delegates.

If so, he will be on the path to win the nomination come July.

Oh and another thing but Bernie’s shitty record on guns wouldn’t get a pass from the progressive left if he were an establishment type so frankly that shit sucks too. Our states aren’t vaccums. A gun bought in Bernie’s Vermont can certainly be used to commit murder in Boston just as many guns bought in Virginia can and are used in murders in DC and NYC. It’s a naive attitude to just shrug it off as his state.

America, 2016:

Fairview Baptist Church News

On Sunday, Dr Grady McMurtry presented a message on Evolution vs. Creation.

People’s beliefs on this determine their world views, he said. Evolutionists believe things like abortion, racism, porn, and murder are right. Creationists know they are wrong.

Evolutionists will say they don’t believe in eternal things, that man came from apes. But where did apes come from? Dr. Grady asked.

[…]

Evolution is a religion, not a science, Dr Grady said, because it takes faith in something that can’t be proven to believe it.

But science disproves evolution. He discussed the Principal of Certainty (You can know with absolute certainty something only if you know everything about it).

I would break something laughing if the RNC ends with Kasich as the nominee.

I mean, it’s obvious that somebody wanted him as the nominee since they put the convention in Cleveland, but he can’t pay people to vote for him. If he walked out of a contested convention on top that would be hilarious.

They’ve gotten really annoying since basically becoming a monopoly in their field. I especially hate the idea of being forced into Creative Cloud, which I’ve been resisting (I’m still using CS 5.5). I called them a few months ago and they said I could purchase CS 6 at the upgrade price, but only people who subscribe to CC will get updates. WTF? It’s not enough that the suite is so expensive to begin with? It feels extortionate.

There may have been some dismissal on the part of Clinton fans about some of the states Bernie won, but I think it has been primarily based on the number of delegates awarded in those states to each candidate and in some cases, the small number of participants in some of the caucuses. Wrong, but not, in my mind anyway, the same as the Sanders’ team going on about low-information voters in the South, who just didn’t seem to understand what they were doing and would have voted for Bernie if they were more knowledgeable—particularly egregious, considering that the largest Dem voting blocks in the South are black.
