Video: Donald Trump Says: “This Is Close to My Heart, I Watched Police & Firemen on 7/11”

“I was down there… on 7/11”

It was so “close to his heart” that he confuses the date with the name of a convenience store.

I would explicitly declare what should happen to him, but I got in trouble last time I specifically suggested anything unpleasant.

Magical thinking is way too common. The entirety of the GOP believes in it, as does Sanders and many of his supporters.

When I lived in the Tacoma WA area about 20+ Years ago, the Western Washington State Fair was one of the biggest in the country. One whole exhibition hall was full of all the products you would see on info-mercials, with pitchmen doing their show all day long.

Funny thing is, didn’t matter what it was, the “Super Sponge”, “Miracle Mop”, “Waterless Cookware” or “Wombat Helper” (ok, made the last one up). You’d start to watch, going “This is the stupidest thing ever”, but if you got caught up in the show (and they were showmen) by the end of the 30 minutes or so you were really wondering “Gee, I wonder if 1 is enough, I can get a second for just 49.95”

As BeachDem and I have pointed out…he can snap and get very dickish. This is an example. If some reporter has the guts to attack him, you could possibly end his run by pissing him off enough so that he comes unglued and people see the real dick he is.

Sure, when calm and calculated he can appear to be a reasonable and good politician. But then…he can turn nasty when provoked.

If we were going to pick a white actress, I’d rather have Emily Blunt in the role anyway. I don’t buy Scarlett’s seriousness. I could believe people respecting (ie, slightly fearing) Blunt.

But there are plenty of Asian actresses. I could see Michelle Yeoh, though I suspect some would think she’s a bit old. But I’m definitely not up on my Japanese actresses enough to know who could play the part.

re: #47 Kragar

Original tweet was a link to this. Watch the video, Landis is deflecting blame away from Hollywood and onto society at large for Hollywoods refusal to cast Asian actresses. His correction to me is that he felt misquoted by the page title which doesn’t actually quote him at all, and that it listed him as the movie’s writer when he wasn’t involved in the GiTS project. The fact that he wasn’t involved makes his caping for the industry even more bizarre in my opinion but whatever.

Looking at some of the people who have worked with Yeoh, I ran across Juju Chan. She’s from Honk Kong, but her IMDB profile includes:

Hong Kong - American Actress JuJu Chan graduated from NYU Tisch (School of Film/TV), was coined as the next Michelle Yeoh and Female Bruce Lee by the Hong Kong Media, she is the only female actress in Hong Kong who has mastered the nunchuckus, including double nunchakus. She is also a Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) 46KG Champion in Hong Kong, and a Taekwon-Do Black Belt international championship medalist.

I’ve read enough IMDB profiles to know that they are written by someone very sympathetic, but she still has some skills.

re: #47 Kragar

It’s the usual Hollywood shtick of casting a Big Star in a flick as insurance that people will go see it, even if it’s a stinker. While there are no Big Stars in Hollywood who are Asian, there are plenty of not-so-big stars who are. Plus, Hollywood could tap the pool of actors who work in Japan, Hong Kong, etc., many of whom would jump at the chance of being in a Hollywood flick.

Too much work. Safer and easier to go with Big Star.

This just shows you how fucked up Republicans are, and how cowardly the media is.

A fucking presidential candidate accosted a reporter because he didn’t like the line of questioning. In the normal world, this would be a campaign-ender. No ifs, ands, or buts. In the frigging Bizzaro dimension we now live in, not only is Kasich’s campaign not over, he’ll probably see a bump in the polls because of it.

And our so-called liberal, “gotcha” media? Not one fucking word. They’re all going to roll over and play dead for fear of losing access. If I’m that reporter’s boss, I push this story as long and as forcefully as I can.

That a guy running for goddamn Leader of the Free World has to physically intimidate someone as soon as he’s made the slightest bit uncomfortable should be front page news.

Honestly, I think Kasich’s Jekyll and Hyde bit is actually worse than Chris Christie’s. With Christie, he’s pretty much a prick 24/7. He doesn’t try to hide behind a veneer of Kindly Father Politician.

Fuck these people. That whole goddamned party is going to be the death of us as a country.

Due to the nature of consciousness at play in the GiTS universe there’s no reason that several actresses couldn’t have played the Major at various points in the movie, Rinko, Ming Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Chiaki Kuriyama. Getting a bunch of talent like that together and having them create and sync up a common set of mannerism might’ve actually been interesting.

But no, we’re going to get a steaming pantload instead.

What pisses me off more than anything else is that the MSM has more respect for these useless tools than they’ve ever had for our current president. If they had done their damn jobs when the TPers started the birther BS, the TPers would have been too embarrassed to have continued on with it, but the media stenographers decided to treat birtherism as a matter worthy of legitimizing and did the same with their Koch-funded rallies. If President Obama ever dared even think about snatching a mic out of a reporter’s hand or insulting one, we could expect the media to pile on and begin the “He’s an angry black man” meme. When the president had the nerve to mention that race involves more than calling someone a n***er, I thought those on the right and the MSM stenographers would lose their frigging minds. Very little attempt was made by any of them to mention what the president was actually saying, but a whole lot of emphasis was put on the use of the derogatory word. The GOP/TP is filled to the brim with lying, greedy, propaganda-peddling, bigoted, homophobic, misogynistic, conspiracy-loving, Islamophobic, racist, violence-peddling, freedom-snatching, sh*theads, and the media stenographers still treat them like they really have something important to say and like they’re the public servants that they’re not. It’s no wonder to me why most Americans have lost faith in our press. It’s because its members aren’t worth a plug nickel. It’s been almost 10 years, and counting, since I’ve watched any so-called national news reporting on TV.

Pretty much. This fucking “Both sides need to be heard” false balance crap is a sickness.

One thing that leaps to mind is when anyone criticized Bush, particularly over Iraq, you were almost expecting someone to punch you in the face for not being a “patriot”. As many people have pointed out, if we had a liberal press, we would have never fought Iraq 2: Electric Boogaloo.

With Obama, though? Conservatives/Republicans have all but burned a cross on the White House lawn, and the press just stands by and goes, “We need to hear what the opposition thinks”.

I’m impressed, because the shot of Scarlett looks almost exactly like the character—as close as one could get, given manga/anime stylized features.

But just wait until more people become interested in the movie, do a little Googling, and find out the guy behind the manga does SO MUCH toon porn (oh, I’m sorry, “erotic art”). THAT shitstorm might just dwarf this one.
