When Sanders lost Ohio, I saw Bernie people complaining that his supporters, thinking Sanders would win, voted in the Republican contest instead. A closed primary like NY’s would have prevented that as well.

The insights from human biodiversity are relevant because Netflix’s stock price rests on the stupid assumption that the rest of the world will consume Netflix like America.

I think we can all agree that the most glaring ommission from the Sanders’ campaign was a comprehensive GOTV drive.
Whether that was an error (because Weaver is out of his depth) or because it was a calculated effort to run as a Democrat while earning indy cred (in which case Weaver is also an idiot) will be fodder for the historians.
What is now an accomplished fact, is that this inability to get motivated Sanders supporters to register early has cost the campaign at least a few of those sweet, precious delegates.
Error of judgement? The wages of ignorance? The misfiring of an establishment-busting optics superweapon?
Jeff Weaver is both an idiot and out of his depth.

Just back from scanning the Intertube’s NY primary wisdom. You’re at the start of a nice trip, and she won’t introduce one of her best characters, Signorina Elletra, for a couple more books. A caution—you can see Leon’s own progress through the 25 years of writing, and it gets a little depressed around the 2/3 point. She comes back to a good state in the later books. (It becomes obvious that each book picks up a social theme in Italian/World ‘problems’, as seen through the detective.)

Today the Michigan AG is going to be announcing indictments over the Flint water crisis. Gov. Synder isn’t among those to be indicted, which is a shame, since it was his actions that directly and proximately led to the poisoning of the city residents of Flint. Without his demand to shift the water supply to save money, Flint water would have remained on the safe (and actually cheaper) Detroit water supply.
So, what’s Synder doing about all this. He’s claiming that he’s going to drink Flint water for the next 30 days.

I’d be more impressed if Snyder spent 30 days replacing pipe across Flint, because so far no mains/lines have been replaced, which is the only permanent fix to the problem. The state damaged their water supply, and loans aren’t a solution. It’s an excuse.

And as I said last night by constantly threatening to leave the party when things don’t go your way, well you’re proving why closed primaries exist in the first place. Parties want their candidates to be nominated by people who at least will have some loyalty to their party and not take their ball home. Anyhow, in four to eight years, they’re going to have forgotten all about Bernie and have some other pony that they’ll attach themselves to and that person will likely fail for similar reasons Bernie has and they still won’t get it. Many elements of the progressive left need to learn how to talk to people without being condescending assholes.

They saw the Democratic party understandably as his best chance into the WH. And that’s okay since the Democratic Party’s rules permitted him to run but in the end Democrats are nominating the next Democratic nominee for president. Sucks that bothers Moore so much. You GO to B&H. If you’re a camera nut, that’s the place to go - they have pretty much every single piece of current gear in existence.
Though to be fair, I think Adorama in NYC and Unique Photo in Fairfield NJ are pretty impressive camera stores in their own right. You can’t go wrong with any of them for gear or tips/tricks to improve your photography.

Investigators have not said whether alcohol was involved in the fatal shooting, but neighbors have asked city officials to improve safety conditions at the gravel pits — which they said attracts drugs and crime.

During dinner, my family and I have started watching Animaniacs now on Netflix. We watched episode 3 last night, which introduced Slappy the Squirrel. She’s watching TV episodes from when she was an actress. This particular episode is of her working on a skyscraper. The wolf, her nemesis and coworker, is trying to sneak up on her. He’s dressed in overalls, but when he tries to tiptoe quietly, he grabs the overalls and lifts them up like a dress, revealing women’s legs in stockings. The end of the overalls/skirt had wolf’s feet.
When that showed, I happened to look at my 16 year old. He absolutely lost it. The feet were too much for him.
The biggest difference to me in someone like Clinton and someone like Sanders is that Clinton sees that someone like Sanders has a place in the Democratic party, she did raise money for his Senate election. Someone like Sanders OTOH thinks anyone with even a pragmatic approach to things is no different than a Republican. I admire Bernie’s idealism but he has none of the pragmatism or understanding of humanity that makes good leaders and that’s shown big time this primary.

With Trump as the nominee, if enough Hispanics are galvanized to register and vote, its possible the GOP will actually have to work to keep Texas in the red column. It can’t remain red forever now that its a minority majority state; Trump may accelerate the process of turning it purple.

Crimson Hexagon then took more than 170,000 posts by these outlets — stories published from January 1, 2015, until close to today — and ran them through their “auto-sentiment” tool. The software scans tens of thousands of stories within minutes for positive or negative language, sorts them into separate buckets, and tallies up the results.
Actually, it sounds like a standard machine learning algorithm I learned in my Intelligent Systems classes in college. The example we were given was writing a spam filter. Even the simple approach - where you trained a naïve Bayesian network just by removing the simple words (a, and, the, is, etc.) - would yield a 70-80% correct match.

My wife loves Castle and was telling me about this. She said the stories are that Katic and Nathan Fillian never really saw eye-to-eye and that she was a bit of a diva. I replied that it looks to me like Nathan is one as well.
Nathan Fillian is one of the nicest human beings I’ve seen online. He is not in-your-face but he is really good hearted. I had heard the two didn’t get along so well. Also, last year during negotiations, when it wasn’t known whether either would come back, she wanted more behind-the-scenes responsibility and more direction as to what her character would do.
Whatever. I love Castle and will continue to watch it if it continues to be good. Last week’s episode was great. No matter who the players are, to me, a good show is a good show is a good show. I am not invested in the relationship. I want entertainment and that doesn’t have to have a romantic aspect.

There’s 1,646 still available (according to Google). With 1,428 delegates (not counting the supers), she’d have to win 955 remaining delegates to get nomination without adding in supers. That works out to 58%.
For Bernie, he’d have to win 1232 of the 1646 still to be decided (2,382 - 1,151). That works out to 74%.
Right now, Hillary’s got 10+ point leads nearly all in the upcoming races. She’ll very quickly top 2,383 counting supers.

So regarding those people who were deemed invalid for not having voted in the last two federal elections? I assume they would have gotten a notification in the mail about that. I’m sorry but I just don’t believe that people were told “You didn’t vote in the last two elections ergo you can’t vote.” And frankly, the bellyaching about the primary being open only to Democrats and how Bernie would have won if independents were included is stupid. Bernie and Hillary are running for the Democratic party’s nomination. So those bitching about that like Michael Moore can honestly read about what their candidate is actually running for before they bitch about why parties want people in their party to have more of a say who their party nominee for president is than people who aren’t in their party.
