Joe Scarborough and Donald Trump: The Honeymoon Terminated

It’s sad when media shills and racist politicians fight
Politics • Views: 58,610

The sycophantic relationship of MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough with Donald Trump is a long-running joke by now; in his speech to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner Larry Wilmore cracked, “Morning Joe has their head so far up Donald Trump’s ass they bumped into Chris Christie.”

Well, it looks like that cozy, mutually beneficial lovefest is coming to an end today. After all, Trump doesn’t really need Scarborough any more, does he?

“Fella” and “Donnie boy!” Them’s wrastlin’ words!

I think 90% of Republican leaders will eventually fall in line, because that’s what they do.

But that 10% that aren’t are going to be, as Joe Biden would put it, a big fucking deal.

It’s only fair for black activists to be in the military now. In the 1950’s and 60’s the military units in the South were overtly confederate. RFK complained after a visit to an Arkansas National Guard unit in the Segregation conflict that the bases he visited all were flying Confederate flags and none had the stars and stripes.

What I don’t get is why the CSA flag isn’t seen in the most possible negative terms possible. I can almost accept though it’s a challenge for me people being proud of an individual ancestor but there’s nothing to be proud of with that flag.

They look back fondly on a time when they, the white majority, was in complete power of government and society. The small percentage that are not racist and love the CSA flag are just honoring their ancestors while ignoring that they fought for slavery.

Sorry for going off-topic, but I think this is worth drawing peoples attn to. Here’s how Stormfront reacted to Trump’s refusal to condemn their harassment of the writer who wrote the Melania piece:

Media Matters:

Trump’s refusal to condemn their behavior has thrilled Trump’s neo-Nazi fans. Daily Stormer editor Andrew Anglin responded to the interview with the headline, “Glorious Leader Donald Trump Refuses to Denounce Stormer Troll Army.” He began:

Asked by the disgusting and evil Jewish parasite Wolf Blitzer to denounce the Stormer Troll Army, The Glorious Leader declined.

The Jew Wolf was attempting to Stump the Trump, bringing up stormer attacks on Jew terrorist Julia Ioffe. Trump responded to the request with “I have no message to the fans” which might as well have been “Hail Victory, Comrades!”

The pro-Hitler writer explained that “we are his most ardent supports. We will be on the ground, getting him elected. By the way: You all need to get ready to volunteer. We’re going to need a lot of boots on the ground to ensure the evil bitch Hillary is vanquished from the realm.”

You can get some stuff to spray on the cords that will have a bitter taste. That might help deter chewing. (We have dealt with this some. I’m not sure it made all that much difference, but maybe it would for yours.)

Watch smaller headphone cords, because those are more likely to actually end up being ingested, which is potentially very bad.

You can wrap some things in aluminum foil too - the noise might help as a deterrent.

what about Judge Judy?

Advisor: I’m not sure…

you’re right, too ugly. and not very classy either. what about that Saul guy?

Advisor: Who?

You know, that guy on TV, Saul, what’s his name? He has those great commercials, Better Call Saul!

Advisor: Yeah, that’s a fictional character, also, here’s my letter of resignation.

OK, there’s a 28%. The canonical number is 27% but we can reach that if we average in the 26% who think that Trump can eliminate $19 trillion of debt in 8 years.

Let’s face it, about a quarter of our fellow citizens are taking their lives in their hands every time they approach an electrical appliance.

The debt won’t matter if Donald is elected and if GOP keeps Congress. Important thing will be to cut taxes, which will spur growth and ponies.

re: #32 mr.fusion

Sorry for going off-topic, but I think this is worth drawing peoples attn to. Here’s how Stormfront reacted to Trump’s refusal to condemn their harassment of the writer who wrote the Melania piece:

Media Matters:

Trump’s refusal to condemn their behavior has thrilled Trump’s neo-Nazi fans. Daily Stormer editor Andrew Anglin responded to the interview with the headline, “Glorious Leader Donald Trump Refuses to Denounce Stormer Troll Army.” He began:

The pro-Hitler writer explained that “we are his most ardent supports. We will be on the ground, getting him elected. By the way: You all need to get ready to volunteer. We’re going to need a lot of boots on the ground to ensure the evil bitch Hillary is vanquished from the realm.”

I have a feeling that if the Stormers had their way, those laces would be red. I also suspect that it WILL happen, and there will be no real outrage from the right. Just the “Well, no TRUE CONSERVATIVE would do something like that.”

Hello Lizards….Lots going on at the moment, but I have been dropping in from time to time to read and leave an upding or two. We almost lost our kitty boy to kidney issues, so far he seems on the mend. Miss dog is sick again with allergies and we might be moving. Either because the husband is getting a new job and/ OR because some serious land issue shit is happening around here and I AM PISSED off about it. Long story, I’ll tell it some time when I have time to digest the situation and be coherent. My neighbors just might seriously be some of the biggest assholes ever if what I suspect to be true actually is. Helpful hint: If you see surveyors all over the place, ask a lot of questions.

Hope everyone is well and happy. I’ve not been able to keep up around here much so I’m not sure, but I think about you all alot and miss being here. Between the chaos, making home repairs and putting in a garden I am always pressed for time these days. (((hugs)))

Miss ya, Mom.

Fort McMurray will be unacceptable for a while.

I know they are trying to fly people out of the oil camps. How is that progressing?

From what I understand, the location where they are to the North is capable of handling C-130’s, so figure they can get 90-100 out on a flight. Since the Canadian Gov. had federalized the emergency, I’ve got a pretty good feeling that they will be ok.

Seriously, after that, I visited my old archery/bowhunting forum stomping grounds, and there was a big thread there where one after another, the folks who thought Palin was the greatest thing since sliced bread all said they were completely over her, and said about her what the rest of us have been saying since September of 2008.

After that, she kind of disappeared from the Trump campaign.

It’s complicated. Since she converted she could convert back and not be a “real” Jew. Her husband, however, is headed for the ovens.

Her kids are in a gray zone; they’re only half or one quarter Jew (if she converts back). Uncle Adolph gave a pass to quarter Jews for a while, so she may have time to get them out of the country before it’s too late.

I assume you mean the observe effect?

In science, the term observer effect refers to changes that the act of observation will make on a phenomenon being observed. This is often the result of instruments that, by necessity, alter the state of what they measure in some manner.

The best experiment to look up for this effect is the double-slit experiment. Fire electrons at two slits and the scattering pattern resembles wave interference. Put a detector at one of the slits and the pattern resembles particles, with two mounds at each slit.

You may have heard the old adage, “Where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire.” And that is a good adage sometimes! But there is another less-famous adage at play here, and it is “Where there’s smoke, it’s usually leaking out of the empty rectum holes of dead-ender losers who are just pretty sure Hillary did all the bad things, but they can never actually find her doing the bad things, but anyway, that is where that fart-flavored smoke is coming from.” (It’s a long adage, and real hard to cross-stitch, which is why it probably never caught on.)

Pacifism. Pacifism is objectively pro-Fascist. This is elementary common sense. If you hamper the war effort of one side you automatically help that of the other. Nor is there any real way of remaining outside such a war as the present one. In practice, ‘he that is not with me is against me’. The idea that you can somehow remain aloof from and superior to the struggle, while living on food which British sailors have to risk their lives to bring you, is a bourgeois illusion bred of money and security. Mr Savage remarks that ‘according to this type of reasoning, a German or Japanese pacifist would be “objectively pro-British”.’ But of course he would be! That is why pacifist activities are not permitted in those countries (in both of them the penalty is, or can be, beheading) while both the Germans and the Japanese do all they can to encourage the spread of pacifism in British and American territories. The Germans even run a spurious ‘freedom’ station which serves out pacifist propaganda indistinguishable from that of the P.P.U. They would stimulate pacifism in Russia as well if they could, but in that case they have tougher babies to deal with. In so far as it takes effect at all, pacifist propaganda can only be effective against those countries where a certain amount of freedom of speech is still permitted; in other words it is helpful to totalitarianism.
I am not interested in pacifism as a ‘moral phenomenon’. If Mr Savage and others imagine that one can somehow ‘overcome’ the German army by lying on one’s back, let them go on imagining it, but let them also wonder occasionally whether this is not an illusion due to security, too much money and a simple ignorance of the way in which things actually happen. As an ex-Indian civil servant, it always makes me shout with laughter to hear, for instance, Gandhi named as an example of the success of non-violence. As long as twenty years ago it was cynically admitted in Anglo-Indian circles that Gandhi was very useful to the British government. So he will be to the Japanese if they get there. Despotic governments can stand ‘moral force’ till the cows come home; what they fear is physical force. But though not much interested in the ‘theory’ of pacifism, I am interested in the psychological processes by which pacifists who have started out with an alleged horror of violence end up with a marked tendency to be fascinated by the success and power of Nazism. Even pacifists who wouldn’t own to any such fascination are beginning to claim that a Nazi victory is desirable in itself. In the letter you sent on to me, Mr Comfort considers that an artist in occupied territory ought to ‘protest against such evils as he sees’, but considers that this is best done by ‘temporarily accepting the status quo’ (like Déat or Bergery, for instance?). a few weeks back he was hoping for a Nazi victory because of the stimulating effect it would have upon the arts…

I pass over the money-sheltered ignorance capable of believing that literary life is still going on in, for instance, Poland, and remark merely that statements like this justify me in saying that our English pacifists are tending towards active pro-Fascism.

I knew this would come:

[…]

Boxers, soldiers, football players: The faces of TBI are almost always those of men in dangerous or physically demanding careers. When soldiers began returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, the Department of Defense spent millions researching new technology like battlefield ultrasound machines that would help assess and treat TBIs quickly. In sports, earlier this month an appellate court affirmed a settlement that would potentially provide retired football players as much as $5 million each in damages for brain injuries. But there is another group of TBI sufferers that has been far less visible: survivors of domestic violence.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly a quarter of American women experience extreme physical violence from intimate partners during their lives. Suffering repeated blows to the head, strangulation, and being violently shaken or slammed against the wall puts them at risk for TBI. But the lack of adequate screening and identification systems means that brain injuries often go unrecognized.

Fischer is talking about the fact that in the Bible it was Eve who first ate the apple and then led Adam to do the same. As a result they were cast out of Eden and made to feel pain and negative emotions for the first time.

Generally referred to as the Fall of Man. In the account God does say He will cause women pain during childbirth but does NOT say a darned thing about periods.

So the point that Bryan Fisher is off his damned rocker still stands.

Trump is actually directly from “Alice and the Looking Glass”

“I’m just one hundred and one, five months and a day.”

“I can’t believe that!” said Alice.

“Can’t you?” the Queen said in a pitying tone. “Try again: draw a long breath, and shut your eyes.”

Alice laughed. “There’s no use trying,” she said: “one can’t believe impossible things.”

“I daresay you haven’t had much practice,” said the Queen. “When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”

There’s some pretty sick people in this country:

Texas children tied outside had hundreds of scars, injuries

Two young children found chained and leashed outside a San Antonio home had suffered hundreds of scars and injuries from months, perhaps years, of abuse, a sheriff’s official said Friday.

Doctors who treated the children after they were found April 29 determined they had old injuries indicating a long period of abuse. One of them also was suffering from hypothermia and had a broken arm resulting from the way she was tied to a garage door using a dog leash, Bexar County sheriff’s spokesman James Keith said.

Authorities initially said the children were 2 and 3 years old, but Keith says they may be a year older.

During the appointment, the doctor and nurse spot a large “polyp” in his intestinal tract. […] The polyp forms into a 2-foot-tall sentient being similar in appearance to a demon or alien, and begins killing each person the creature sees as a source of stress with each day. But again, this only plays into Drumpfskind’s gimmick of being an “outsider”.

If you want hawkish, consider this: the president invaded a country based on evidence that was considered at best a 50/50 shot, and the effort almost failed due to equipment failure. We talk about it in a good way only because it succeeded, but if it had failed, I’m pretty sure it would have ended Obama’s presidency. Clinton was against it.

The Democratic party is definitely the most socially liberal it has ever been. It is also nowhere near as labor-friendly as it used to be. “Corporatist” is actually a fair charge, assuming it is not exaggerated beyond reason.

Whence all this angst from Sanders et al., which they really should have channeled more productively.

It’s partly because the GOP has, with the help of corrupt union leaders, made organized labor support of the Democrats a dirty word over the past couple of decades.

National Racists Online is slowly, very slowly, laying the groundwork for their eventual bowing to Drumpfskind.

Jonah Nimoy-is-a-pornographer Goldberg writez:

Clinton is rich, and morally and ethically corrupt. So is Trump. But at least he’s entertaining. Everyone suspects they know what President Hillary Clinton: The Movie would look like. Trump: The Movie? That could be a wild ride.

It’s an balance-fairy approach to Clinton and Drumpfskind with the basic conclusion that Drumpfskind is no worse than Clinton.

Meanwhile, Brendon Bordelon declares:

Democrats See Danger in Trump’s Developing Anti-Clinton Strategy

It’s an attempt to paint Drumpfskind as not necessarily a loser against Clinton.

It’s going to take time to get NRO turned around… but their hatred of all things Clinton and Hillary will eventually drive them to it.

Anyway, I just stopped by to tell you guys that my 7” Fire tablet arrived about an hour ago (yes, I caved and I blame BWS).

It’s actually much nicer than I expected for $39. It feels nice & solid—it weighs like 20 grams less than my 2nd Gen iPad mini, but it’s heavier than my Kindle Paperwhite, so I wouldn’t want to have to hold it up for any length of time. My iPad mini has a kick-stand case, but I’m not gonna shell out $$ for a case that costs 1/3 or 1/2 the price of the tablet. Besides, I have an adjustable plastic stand that I bought a while back which hasn’t been used lately, so I think that’ll suffice.

Oh, and the $10 I saved on the price was spent buying a 32GB micro SD card for it, so that worked out well. The screen can’t compare to a retina display, but it’s fine for watching videos, IMO. I prolly wouldn’t spend too much time reading books with it as the resolution is a little to low for that and, like I said, it’s kinda on the heavy side to be holding up for any length of time. Damned Amazon devils, they’re experts at convincing me to part with my money.

What else? I hear the camera sucks, but I haven’t tried it yet and anyway I almost never use the cameras on my mobile devices—it’s either my little point-n-shoot or the DSLR.

An abandoned boat in front of the home of Marq Naquin and Ochxia Naquin, who live on Isle de Jean Charles in Louisiana. For over a century, American Indians on the island fished, hunted, trapped and farmed among the lush banana and pecan trees that once covered acres. But since 1955, more than 90% of the island’s original land mass has washed away. Because of the impacts of #climatechange, a $48 million federal grant has been allocated to resettle the island’s residents. The location of the new community has yet to be chosen, and moving is voluntary. Marq and Ochxia say they plan to stay — and they aren’t alone. Attachment to Isle de Jean Charles runs deep. Some new revelations in the ongoing saga of corrupt Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton - currently under federal and state indictment for felony securities fraud:

Ken Paxton did not disclose Servergy stock as a gift or income

AUSTIN - Ken Paxton told federal investigators that a tech CEO gave him $100,000 worth of stock five years ago, but he never disclosed the shares as either a gift or income, an issue ethics experts agreed could spell more trouble for the attorney general already facing state and federal fraud charges.

According to federal fraud charges filed against Paxton last month, the embattled first-term Republican AG told investigators from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that in 2011 he was given 100,000 shares of stock in the North Texas tech startup Servergy by the firm’s then-CEO Bill Mapp.

“Consequently, Paxton claims, he later accepted the shares as a gift,” the charges added. Yet Paxton, who was a state representative at the time, never disclosed the stock as a gift on annual personal financial statements that elected officials are required to file with the state.

Federal investigators doubt the shares were given as a gift, instead alleging Mapp handed over the stock to Paxton as a “sales commission” for convincing other people to invest in his company.

This isn’t the Republican primaries with Cruz, Kasich, Carson, and Rubio. Donald has no idea what he’s in for.

Hillary Clinton and other Democrats like Bill Clinton, Elizabeth Warren, Barack Obama etc. are perfectly free to call out every bit of Trump’s vileness and pin it squarely on the Republican party because they aren’t trying to get the votes of Trumpist bigots like Cruz et al. were attempting to do.

It’s going to be glorious.

This moment of clarity is from a RedState front pager:

I’ve been beating the drum of #NeverTrump everywhere I go the last several days and have been fortunate enough to have some networks offering me the air-time to do it. Interestingly, many on the right side of the aisle keep “warning” me that I’m being used by the lefty media who wishes to co-opt my message to fulfill their own dirty narratives.

The problem with that warning is that I’m in full agreement with the dirty narrative being described.

For the first time in my career, I am completely aligned with the talking points of the left on the GOP presidential nominee. He is a dangerous sociopath who uses xenophobic & racist dog whistles to stoke fear in masses of uninformed voters so that he can get to Washington and use the power of the pen to push billions of dollars to corporations as he cuts deals behind the scenes that benefit the most powerful and corrupt people in the world.

I don’t see the problem with that and I’d think that Bernie supporters that apparently love unions would get that analogy. Really, it’s simple. Bernie is running for the Democratic party’s nomination. If you want to vote for Bernie fine but don’t act like parties requiring that you be a member of their party to vote on their nomination is somehow an affront to you. Man I am sorry but I’ve had it with the whining about this crap. They had time to register as Dems. Alan Abramowitz actually ran the numbers the other day on how many delegates Bernie would have picked up if all the closed primaries ran up to then (4/28) had been open ones, based upon demographics and voting trends in other open primaries.

The number of delegates? 41. The lead Clinton enjoyed at that time? 298.

So any Bernie Bro who insists that Bernie would be ahead if all the primaries were open is deluded, but that really goes without saying by this point.

Dead-enders getting riled up.

Go all the way to the convention and…what? Serve as the turd in the punch bowl by trying to pick a floor fight when you’re statistically fucked?

Bernie Bros have this fantasy now where Bernie does well enough in the final stretch not to win outright, but win enough states to say to superdelegates “Neither of us won outright, but I’m better for the party so pick me!”

re: #487 Targetpractice

Alan Abramowitz actually ran the numbers the other day on how many delegates Bernie would have picked up if all the closed primaries ran up to then (4/28) had been open ones, based upon demographics and voting trends in other open primaries.

The number of delegates? 41. The lead Clinton enjoyed at that time? 298.

So any Bernie Bro who insists that Bernie would be ahead if all the primaries were open is deluded, but that really goes without saying by this point.

First it was the crap about them losing the states that were going GOP anyhow. Then once they won some caucuses in equally Republican states, it became the crap about how poor people don’t actually vote (Gee Bernie, maybe you should actually do a better job energizing them to vote if you are in fact this candidate of the working class you proclaim yourself as( and now it’s the crap about the closed and open primaries. It amazes me that Bernie and his supporters accuse Clinton of being corrupt but at the same time he’s implying he wants to be vetted. I think he gave up any chance of that a long time ago. Now I’m of the opinion that even if he hadn’t acted like a jerk, I wouldn’t want him to be considered anyhow, he’s not executive material.

I like how they continue to ignore that Clinton has beaten him conviningly with registered Democrats and they go well Bernie wins independents! Okay that’s true but he’s running for the Democratic party nomination. Maybe if Bernie saw the Democratic Party as something other than his most easy path to the WH, he’d get that. I wonder if the BB’s would put up with this kind of bullshit from a right leaning Democrat who had been an independent until it became convenient for him.

I’ve been lucky that I’ve always been on the slender side, but when I do catch my weight slipping up a bit, I’ve found that a week or two of meals that are high fiber make me feel very full with out a lot of calories. A second thing is that I tend to ‘gulp’ my food down and will overeat because I’m eating faster than my satiation reflex can kick in. If I make it a point to make sure that I chew each mouthful at least 20 times, and also physically put my fork down on my plate so I have to pick it up again for my next mouthful I eat much slower.

Well, it’s funny that his supporters think that open primaries are good - or good for Bernie, when there’s no evidence of that either. Bernie’s lost a bunch of those too - by wide margins.

The one predictor that seems to suggest how he’ll do that correlates fairly strongly: percentage of minorities living in the state. The lower the percentage, the better he does. The higher the percentage of minorities living in state, the worse he does.

I watched a report today about how there are folks who have watched their houses burn down live via security cameras they had with Internet connectivity. It’s a pretty horrible situation - but hat’s off to the folks in the city, it really does appear that there are probably only two deaths that can be attributed to the evacuation (in an automobile accident on Wednesday) and none so far to the fire itself. Pretty amazing when you consider the number of people who had to be evacuated.

The fire that blew up in CA last fall killed 4, I believe, and that was a much less populated area (although the population distribution probably did not favor the folks in CA - it appears that Fort McMurray was much more densely populated in the city area, at least, which helps spread the word more quickly).

Nah, you’er good. Yeah that’s what bugs me about that argument. And honestly I see nothing wrong with Bernie winning those states. I just get annoyed as a Virginian that Clinton’s wins are swept aside by the candidate himself as “those states are very conservative anyhow” well so is Nebraska and Wyoming as you said. I think there’s a good possibility of that happening again with that one district. That would really be neat if it happened. I really don’t have any beefs at all with people like yourself. Johnson’s “Confessions of a Republican Ad” against Goldwater almost precisely decribes both Mr. Trump and the Republican treatment of him:

YouTube

Did you know the guy in that commerical was the the frontline parody guy on Chappelle Show? I remember seeing this a couple months back and wondering what happened to the guy who plays the Republican in the ad and yep he’s the guy who played the Frontline parody host in the famous black white supremacist skit.

re: #548 HappyWarrior

I can’t help but to wonder how Fox would feel every time a European-American of a Christian background converted to Islam, it was made out to be a victory of Christianity and the West. Anyhow whatever makes her happy. Really sleazy yet typical of Fox to use this as a victory on radical Islam instead of what it is, a young woman choosing her own religious path, something that the religious right is against.

Seriously. It’s not like she’s using it as an excuse to bash Islam relentlessly. At least you can tell she did so on her own and doesn’t show an axe to grind…which can’t be said for some ex-Muslims who rant over and over about Muslims. She seems genuinely happy and I wish her best of luck in her newfound faith.

Agreed. In fact, if I were her, I’d be genuinely bothered by this since no doubt she still has plenty of close friends and family that are still Muslim.

No, I didn’t; thanks for that. Interesting tidbit.

And of course, Fox News is lapping it up as if it’s some kind of victory over them Moose-lims!!!!111

I’m a little saddened at the peer pressure likelihood that was a career move.

Same would have been if she was in Pakistan i.e. cricket player Muhammad Yousuf who was a former Christian but converted due to most likely peer pressure

They have a lot more flexibility now on ordering - you might even be able to do like one shipment a month. When we step down, that’s likely what we might look at. (Or one every three weeks.)

Over a landline from Western Nebraska.
If you mean YouTube, that would be the “embed content” links that YouTube provides.

Edit: I went back and tried the links here; they worked for me anyway

As klys mentioned above…you only need to copy the You Tube url address and paste it in. The embed does not seem to work with Charles’ coding.
