Note that if you “Save As” or drag the image to your desktop, the filename will be “Unknown.png”. So you may want to rename it with something more descriptive.

My last comment on the thread below:

How about “Donald Sterling—really knew how to get the blacks out of his apartments, but terrible taste in women, really terrible, I mean keep her at home, right? You don’t want to be seen with that….”

Too wordy for the hat?

Also notice how the text is dynamically resized to fit the area. Because I loved getting that code working.

INTERVIEW Pope Francis
Translation Stefan GIGACZ for la CroixInterviewed by Guillaume Goubert and Sébastien Maillard (in Rome), le 17/05/2016 à 8h57

— In your speeches in Europe, you refer to the “roots” of the continent without ever describing them as Christian. Rather, you define “European identity” as “dynamic and multicultural.” In your view, is the expression “Christian roots” inappropriate for Europe?

Pope Francis : We need to speak of roots in the plural because there are so many. In this sense, when I hear talk of the Christian roots of Europe, I sometimes dread the tone, which can seem triumphalist or even vengeful. It then takes on colonialist overtones. John Paul II, however, spoke about it in a tranquil manner.

Yes, Europe has Christian roots and it is Christianity’s responsibility to water those roots. But this must be done in a spirit of service as in the washing of the feet. Christianity’s duty to Europe is one of service. As Erich Przywara, the great master of Romano Guardini and Hans Urs von Balthasar, teaches us, Christianity’s contribution to a culture is that of Christ in the washing of the feet. In other words, service and the gift of life. It must not become a colonial enterprise. […]

I”m going to go play golf at the local par 3 (mainly) course tomorrow before work with one of the shop owners and a friend of his. Now the boss is very conservative, hates Trump with a passion, and he and I agree that we disagree, have had some good discussions, but never heated. We know we won’t change each others minds, but it’s enjoyable.

He has warned me about his friend, he’s described him as “John Birch Society Level of Crazy”, so it’s going to be an interesting morning I’m sure.

One good point, the friend also hates Trump. So we’ve always got that.

I have to do a bit of a brag on myself. Cecil (one of the shop owners) is a very good repair tech, has a real knack for it. He had a regulator on the bench that we were doing an annual inspection on for a customer.

Without going into a lot of technical mumbo-jumbo, lets just say that it was doing something very odd when we let it sit pressurized for about 10 minutes or so, in fact it was doing the exact opposite of what it would be doing if it had a problem (which indicates that WAS a problem) since it should do nothing just sitting there.

Cecil was all ready to tear it down and rebuild it, a roughly 2 hour process, but I thought about it for a minute and realized that it was extremely unlikely that the problem was where he thought, that it most likely was a very tiny leak somewhere down stream from the regulator. He asked me why I said that, I explained my thought process and why I didn’t think the reg itself was the problem.

Sure enough, he came to me a bit later on, while I was with one of our regular customers, and said “Steve, great call on that reg, you nailed it exactly right and saved me a bunch of work that wouldn’t have fixed the problem to start with”.

Getting praise from him on something in his domain really made my day.

Of course it’s a nothing burger that was clearly an accident, but most people won’t watch the entire video, let alone read the whole article—they’ll just accept the framing. Regardless, I was surprised to see that level of public emotion on the Parliament floor—in Canada (elsewhere it might not be so unusual).

Depends on how one defines ‘airspace’-they may be accurate if the airspace extends X number of miles beyond their land mass.

I think most of us were ready for the base to go full-metal Quisling in time for the convention. But there’s still only so much leeway they’ll give him. If he starts moderating his tone, starts suggesting he won’t be the Fuhrer that his supporters thought they were signing on to support, then we could see a whole lot of angry wingnuts taking up the #NeverTrump banner again.
