May 16, 2016 by FELIX CONTRERAS • Those of us “of a certain age” have always been told to be true to ourselves, with the understanding that maturity will show us a better sense of our true selves. The hope is that we can move forward and look backward with both confidence and (hopefully) not a lot of regret.

But musicians of a certain age are often better off if they resist the tried-and-true and look for something new to stretch their sense of self. They rely on a body of work to inspire yet more growth; that way, their sound changes while still feeling familiar.

Pardon my philosophizing, but that’s how I hear Steve Kimock’s music — both in this video and on his latest album, Last Danger Of Frost. Long known for his electric-guitar work in improvisational settings, he’s rightly considered a musician’s musician. I’ve always thought of him as one of those gifted players whose dedication to his instrument is matched only by his imagination. There’s joy in hearing Kimock play acoustically, with no filter (or pedals or amps) between his ideas and his fingers.

Special mention on this video goes to legendary bassist Bobby Vega, who commands his instrument as easily as he breathes or walks around. It’s a rare treat to hear these musicians up close and unplugged.

Last Danger Of Frost is available now:

In the minds of Bernie Bros, they’re the majority, and the DNC’s totally keeping them down by “stealing” the nomination. So she’s just appealing to that by patting them on the head and saying “Yes, you special little snowflakes, you’re the majority and you can prove it by voting for me.”

If Sanders supporters complained about other things the way they complain about election results

CHESS:
This game is rigged. The pawns get to move almost NOWHERE, whereas the QUEEN (DETECT ANY RESEMBLANCE HERE???) can just move wherever she likes with no apparent rhyme or reason. She’s not a bishop or a rook. Why does she move like one? Also, the black pieces have to move second, which is TOTALLY unfair and needs to be looked into, unless I am playing with the white pieces today.

SCRABBLE:
I played exactly the same word as my opponent, using exactly the same letters, and received fewer points for it — just because I wasn’t on some pink square, which my opponent claimed gave you DOUBLE the points. Pretty sure that’s the definition of rigged. Why would you just randomly have squares all over the board that counted for MORE or FEWER points when it’s just the same words? Also my opponent had two BLANK tiles, which just got to be WHATEVER letters she wanted. This seems made-up. Milton Bradley are shills who are trying to prevent the revolution. Also, “BERN” is totally a word.

Excellent.

Down by 21, the 2 minute warning happened a minute ago, and Bernie’s still demanding that the final minute be played because he’s sure he can intercept the ball and run it back for a game-winning touchdown.

Oh, and Bernie not only wants the last minute played, he wants the NFL to change the rules to count any touchdown during that minute to count the same as three regular touchdowns. And the opposing team can only have 5 players on the field, because otherwise it’s not “fair” to him.

40k Time

Alpha Legion

The Alpha Legion is the Chaos Space Marine Traitor Legion about whom the least is known. The Alpha Legion was once the XXth Legion of Astartes created during the First Founding by the Emperor of Mankind to carry out His Great Crusade to reunite all of humanity in a new Golden Age under His rule. They are experts in infiltration and their armies contain many Chaos Cultists in addition to regular Chaos Space Marines. The Alpha Legion’s Primarch was named Alpharius, and was actually one of the identical twin Primarchs Alpharius Omegon, two brilliant and secretive sons of the Emperor, one of whom was reportedly later killed after the end of the Horus Heresy by Roboute Guilliman, the Primarch of the Ultramarines. Despite its seeming allegiance to Chaos, a closer scrutiny of the Alpha Legion’s known history indicates that their seeming service to Chaos Undivided might actually be the greatest deception they have played upon the Imperium.

EgyptAir says the plane’s emergency devices - possibly an emergency locator transmitter or beacon - sent a signal that was received at 4.26am, two hours after the last radar contact.

That would be an ELT. Last radar contact was at 36,000 feet, then nothing, certainly not a controlled descent.

At this point, “sane” Sanders supporters should not be wasting time getting defensive, they should be out there beating Bro heads in and trying to salvage something worthwhile from this failing campaign. If you still think he has a chance to win the nomination, then you’re not “sane.” If you think that the actions of the Bros are in any way “justified,” you’re not “sane.” If you think that Sanders can keep attacking Hillary and the DNC but be able to demand concessions at the convention, then you’re not “sane.” And if you think the “good” that Sanders has done outweighs all the shit that he has since heaped upon himself, then you’re crazier than a shithouse rat.

To put it in perspective, Muslim religious and community leaders have not only condemned terrorism but have cooperated to root out such elements in their own populations. LGBT groups have gone out of their way to make it clear that there is no connection between child-molesters and homosexuality. But I have yet to see a “sane” Bernie supporter stand up and denounce the Bros without adding a “But…” and then going on to make excuses.

Dying GOP Senator Apologizes to Muslims for Donald Trump

Bob Bennett spent his last days letting Muslims know how sorry he was that an Islamophobe had become his party’s all-but-certain nominee.

Instead, with a slight slurring in his words, Bennett drew them close to express a dying wish: “Are there any Muslims in the hospital?” he asked.

“I’d love to go up to every single one of them to thank them for being in this country, and apologize to them on behalf of the Republican Party for Donald Trump,” Bennett told his wife and son, both of whom relayed this story to The Daily Beast.

Trump’s proposal to ban Muslim immigrants from America had outraged the former senator, his wife Joyce said, triggering his instincts to do what he could on a personal level. They ultimately did not canvass the hospital, but Bennett had already made an effort in his last months of life.

As they traveled from Washington to Utah for Christmas break, Bennett approached a woman wearing a hijab in the airport.

“He would go to people with the hijab [on] and tell them he was glad they were in America, and they were welcome here,” his wife said. “He wanted to apologize on behalf of the Republican Party.”

OFFS, Trump’s America:

D.C. Police have charged a security guard at a Giant grocery store with simple assault after a transgender woman said the guard forced her out of the women’s restroom.

The guard, who has not been identified, is a special police officer at a Giant store near Third and H streets in northeast D.C.

According to a police report, officers arrested the guard at the Giant after the confrontation.

[…]

While at the Giant, she asked a store employee to point her to the restroom and passed a female security officer standing in the hallway.

The officer came into the restroom and told her to get out, according to Belcher.

“She opened the door and came in and started calling me derogatory names,” Belcher said.

She said the officer put her hand on her shoulder and arm, grabbed her and pushed her out of the store.

The State Dept has issued a security warning to all US citizens abroad saying, “Stay the fuck out of North Korea, you stupid idiots.”

OK, State said it more diplomatically than that, but the meaning is the same. Sounds like they are expecting NoKo to do weird shit again.

The State Department strongly urges U.S. citizens to avoid all travel to North Korea due to the serious risk of arrest and long-term detention under North Korea’s system of law enforcement, which imposes unduly harsh sentences, including for actions that in the United States would not be considered crimes.

This notice replaces the Travel Warning dated November 20, 2015.

At least 14 U.S. citizens have been detained in the DPRK in the past ten years. North Korea has detained those who traveled independently and those who were part of organized tours. Being a member of a group tour or using a tour guide will not prevent North Korean authorities from detaining or arresting you. Efforts by private tour operators to prevent or resolve past detentions of U.S. citizens in the DPRK have not been successful.

If you decide to enter North Korea against the advice of this Travel Warning, you should have no expectation of privacy. All electronic and multimedia devices including USB drives, CDs, DVDs, mobile phones, tablets, laptops, Internet browsing histories and cookies are subject to search for banned content.

If DPRK authorities permit you to keep your mobile phone when you enter the country, it will not function unless you use the DPRK mobile service, which will enable DPRK authorities to monitor your calls. GPS-trackers and satellite phones are not allowed.

Possession of any media, either physical or electronic, criticizing the DPRK government or its leaders is considered a criminal act punishable by long-term detention in hard labor camps and heavy fines.

In North Korea, the following - whether done knowingly or unknowingly - have been treated as crimes:

*Showing disrespect to the country’s former leaders, Kim Il Sung or Kim Jong Il, or for the country’s current leader, Kim Jong Un, including but not limited to tampering with or mishandling materials bearing their names or images;
*Entering North Korea without proper travel documentation;
*Possessing material that is in any way critical of the DPRK government;
*Proselytizing or carrying out religious activities, including activities that may be construed as such, like leaving behind religious materials;
*Engaging in unsanctioned political activities;
*Traveling without authorization, even for short distances;
*Having unauthorized interaction with the local population;
*Exchanging currency with an unauthorized vendor;
*Taking unauthorized photographs;
*Bringing pornography into the country;
*Shopping at stores not designated for foreigners; and
*Removing or tampering with political slogans and signs or pictures of political leaders.

Numerous foreigners have been held in North Korea for extended periods of time without being formally charged with any crimes. Detained foreigners have been questioned daily for several weeks without the presence of counsel and have been compelled to make public statements and take part in public trials.

Since the United States does not maintain diplomatic or consular relations with North Korea, the U.S. government has no means to provide normal consular services to U.S. citizens in North Korea. The Embassy of Sweden in the North Korean capital of Pyongyang is the Protecting Power for U.S. citizens in the DPRK and provides limited consular services to U.S. citizens traveling in North Korea who require emergency assistance.

The U.S.-DPRK Interim Consular Agreement stipulates that North Korea will notify the Embassy of Sweden within four days of an arrest or detention of a U.S. citizen and will allow consular visits by the Swedish Embassy within two days after a request is made. However, the DPRK government routinely delays or denies consular access.

The DPRK remains one of the most heavily sanctioned countries in the world. U.S. citizens traveling to North Korea should familiarize themselves with all applicable sanctions relating to the country, particularly U.S. sanctions on the DPRK. To learn more about U.S. sanctions on the DPRK, see the Federal Register.

The State Department remains deeply concerned about the DPRK’s ongoing, systematic, and widespread human rights violations. To learn more about North Korea’s deplorable human rights situation, see the DPRK Country Report on Human Rights Practices for 2015.

The United States and the United Nations Security Council have expressed grave concern regarding North Korea’s recent nuclear tests, ballistic missile launches, and other activities prohibited by United Nations Security Council Resolutions. UN Security Council statements from January 2016 and March 2016 are posted on the UN website.

As a result of concerns arising from unannounced missile launch activities and GPS navigation systems interference and/or disruption, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a Prohibition and Advisory notice to U.S. airmen and operators. The FAA has issued Special Federal Aviation Regulation (SFAR) 79 which prohibits U.S. civil aviation from flying in the Pyongyang Flight Information Region (FIR) (ZKKP) west of 132 degrees east longitude, and the FAA has advised those flying in and around the Pyongyang FIR (ZKKP) east of 132 degrees east longitude to be aware of possible GPS interruptions. For more information, U.S. citizens should consult the Federal Aviation Administration’s Prohibitions, Restrictions and Notices.

Indeed. The DPRK let some foreign media in to cover the national party congress recently, but those journalists were kept a very tight leash. One BBC reporter (IIRC) was sent home because he had been talking to ordinary citizens and publishing stories that were not kissing Kim’s ass.

Hyeonseo Lee, the well known NoKo defector, posted on Facebook that two South Korean tourists have gone missing from China. They were in Liaoning province, adjacent to NoKo, and Lee said there are concerns they were abducted by the North in retaliation for the 13 North Korea restaurant workers in Ningbo, China, who defected en masse to the South.

On a more somber note, there’s reports that an EgyptAir plane from Paris to Cairo crashed somewhere in the Med. It was at cruising altitude at 37,000 feet when ATC lost radar contact.

So, given the absolute lack of information, Trump jumps to the conclusion it was terrorism and he has the best ideas:

What specifically does he think that should be done differently than at present? Prevent certain groups from flying altogether? Body cavity searches? Fly naked? Prohibit all carryon or checked luggage?

And that all assumes it wasn’t some kind of problem with the plane itself, though I suspect that terrorism is the likely cause given that most tech problems would give the flight crew time to react and send out a mayday. Then again, it could be a battery fire/non terror related explosion w/ rapid decompression. Until the plane debris is recovered, along with the black boxes, we are just speculating - and the media will be 100% into speculation mode until they have something solid.

All of his supporters heard wall and stopped there. They didn’t bother to pay attention to the details.

It’s the same thing with tax cuts. That’s all they hear. They ignore the bit where the rich get a massive tax cut, and all the burdens fall on them.

Trump preys on the short attention span of his supporters. And he’s fooling so many people thanks to a media that doesn’t shred his lack of credibility on every issue he touches.

The Nevada kerfuffle (yes, it’s already faded to kerfuffle status) will not decide the race in November. Bernie’s staying in the race for another few weeks won’t decide the race in November. Hell, by mid-July most Democrats won’t even remember that Hillary had an opponent in the primaries. It’s always like this. It will always be like this. In four years, if we have a tight primary (because I don’t think Hillary will run for reelection) feelings will get hurt again, and the eventual nominee (Warren!) will be fine regardless.

The DNC has systemic problems that have nothing to do with Sanders. Debbie Wasserman Shultz picks who lives and who dies in the DNC like she’s Danaerys Targaryen by choosing who gets to sip from that cup of millions of dollars Hillary brought in this year. Howard Dean’s 50 state strategy? That shit’s not even a consideration. Just hold safe seats and play the obstruction game with Republicans because at the end of the day it’s all about donations. Hell, I’m surprised she isn’t fund raising off of the Nevada spat (see? In the space of a post it’s gone from kerfuffle to spat…there must be a missing plane or something taking everyone’s attention).

Doubt that. His supporters don’t care about the details any more than they care that they’re being lied to incessantly by the GOP that getting universal health care is bad for you, or that raising the minimum wage will be bad for people struggling to make ends meet, or that expanding the pool that can get overtime wages, is somehow bad for the middle class.

Time and again, the GOP gets its base to vote against its self interest and in the process enables shifting tax burdens from the rich on to everyone else through program cuts that help the middle class and those struggling on a daily basis.

For instance:
Hey, let’s give everyone tax cuts. GOP base cheers.
The tax cut gives the rich a 30% tax cut. The middle class sees a 5% tax cut, but education funding gets slashed because revenues don’t meet expectations as the economy doesn’t generate any growth (trickle down fail). The end result is the middle class gets screwed.

Rinse and repeat.

The House approved a Zika funding proposal that’s 1/3 the amount requested by the White House, and $500 million less than the Senate version.

The GOP playing games with public health once again. They think that they can nickel and dime safety. They’ll get to claim that they provided funding, even though it’s a fraction of what’s needed (and ignores that they tried to fund it through cutting research for an equally awful disease - Ebola).

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters on Wednesday: “I don’t have a veto threat to issue” for a bipartisan $1.1 billion Zika emergency spending bill the Senate is expected to soon pass. But he also eschewed questions about the White House possibly negotiating a final Zika supplemental. The House, as expected, passed a much smaller GOP-crafted $622 million version on Wednesday night.

Earnest said the House bill “contemplates not giving our public health professionals everything that they say that they need so that they can do everything possible to protect the American people from the Zika virus.”

He pointed out that Florida GOP Sen. Marco Rubio has supported the administration’s request, noting that the government’s top health officials and scientists say it’s needed.
[White House Seeks Emergency Funds to Fight Zika]

When a reporter noted the partisan dysfunction that has defined Obama’s tenure means compromise is a must, Earnest shot back: “I just reject that.”

“This is not about the administration not being willing to compromise,” Obama’s chief spokesman said. “This is the specific request that was put forward by our public health experts. They’ve been very clear about what is necessary.”

House Republicans say their $622 million emergency Zika spending bill would give the administration around $1.2 billion to fight the virus. That’s including the $589 million the White House shifted in already appropriated funds to its Zika accounts.

The know-nothing GOP wants to do the bare minimum to keep the nation safe from public health threats. And that has consequences. Heck, when Marco Rubio is the voice of reason on Zika funding, you know the GOP is off the rails (Rubio represents one of the states most at risk from Zika - so there’s quite a bit of self interest there, but Cruz has been noticeably silent on the recent Congressional action, and Texas is just as threatened).

Gov Bevin used an executive order to fire him. Our AG said that was illegal, then the guy Bevin named to replace him declined the appointment.
Bevin has a serious case of butthurt because he’s not allowed to be a dictator.

I feel bad for sane Kentuckians who knew Bevin was bad news. Hard to muster up much sympathy for those who voted for him fully aware of his terrible views and approach. It’s times like these I’m thankful that my state is relatively sane politically and we avoided having Cuccinneli as governor.

Mostly agree. We really need to wait until we reach the date Clinton crosses the delegate threshold, which is only a couple more weeks. It really does drive me nuts how panicky Democrats get. I do understand the concern, though. Any Republican administration right now would undo gains over the past 8 years that would take 40+ years to redo (SCOTUS appointments). But there are better ways to handle this than panic and getting angry at those close by.

The bigger problem here were Democrats who didn’t vote for Conway. They didn’t vote for Bevin, they just left their choice for the governors race blank. All of the other Democrats that won on the state level had about the same number of votes. Conway had a few thousand fewer votes. Had he received approximately the same number of votes as the other statewide Democrats, there would be no Governor Bevin. Conway ran away from President Obama, but those Democrats that sought to punish Conway have actually punished all of us.

She was a prime example. I think if she had declared allegiance with Obama, and strongly associated Kynect with ACA, she might have swayed enough people to eke out a win. 8:48 AM - 19 May 2016]

They have joined Alex Jones, rt.com, and a large part of hate radio in hoping that Hillary will be indicted. Indeed, the upcoming indictment is an article of faith among certain radio yakkers, with a complicated theory that links everything the administration and the DNC do to Obama’s inside knowledge that such an indictment is imminent. Biden sent out of the country on business? An obvious ploy to raise his profile so he can step in when Hillary is frog marched into captivity. A statement on global climate change? Obviously signifies that Al Gore might be willing to come out of retirement.

It is absolutely crazy. And at the same time, I’m more pissed off at the individuals who did not vote for Conway. If like-minded people want to affect what the Democratic party stands for, or what the candidates should be like, the accountability has to come differently. This is why I am so against the “…or Busters”. The Democratic party(and the Republican party) we have is because of who does the work. Voting is important, but participation is more important. Voting is part of participation. But working with the state and local parties to get candidates to not run away from President Obama would be more effective than not voting for the Democrats on Election Day.

That wasn’t entirely her rationale for staying in. The issue was that she was 147 delegates behind near the end, and MI and FL were possible game changers (having been withheld because they jumped ahead in the calendar) considering that supers and popular vote were razor thin margins.

When the MI and FL delegates were only partially seated and wouldn’t make up the deficit, that’s when she called it.

There’s no comparison between those events in 2008 and now. There’s 3.1 million votes separating Bernie from Hillary, 277 delegates, and nearly 800 including supers.

It isn’t close. And because votes are proportionally doled out, there’s no chance he can win. None. Zero. Zip. And he’d need not only close wins in CA or NJ to win, but he’d need 17+ point wins. He’s currently down 10+ in CA and 17+ in NJ. So, that’s 27 and 34 points he’s got to make up.

I don’t think “if something should happen” was her rationale. She made an unfortunate reference that RFK was still in the race in June. Her point was that it was not unusual for primary races to last into the summer.
She was contesting the Florida/Michigan primary results.

Her point was certainly overshadowed by her foot-in-mouth on that one.

While the group we’re hearing may be larger than the PUMAs, a lot of them are the types of white males that voted for McCain. re: #227 The Vicious Babushka

Hard to say what was going on. The hard left turn and quick descent could have been an emergency maneuver because of rapid decompression — that’s a 20,000 foot drop — and land would have been toward the left (i.e., Greece). But the doughnut could have been an uncontrolled spin, or a stalled right wing, or engine failure on one side, or an incapacitated flight crew. Then it seems to resume straight-ahead flight and then it’s gone at 10,000 ft. Maybe there was an explosion, or the stresses on the plane were too much, and it broke apart.

I’m just throwing out guesses, of course.

RawStory: Fox host can’t wait to plot how EgyptAir tragedy can help Trump defeat Dems

Just hours after EgyptAir Flight 804 crashed in the Mediterranean Sea, Fox Business host Stuart Varney was already calculating how much of a “plus” the tragedy would be for GOP presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump.

During an early morning segment on Thursday’s Fox & Friends, Varney warned that the crash would “encourage the refugee crisis.” “I also think this may be good politically for Donald Trump,” Varney opined. “He’s already tweeted out, saying this is probably terrorism.”

“He’s the guy who is saying, hands off, keep Muslims out temporarily whist we figure out who comes in,” the Fox host continued. “An incident of this type is surely a plus for Donald Trump.”

So 60+ folks just died abroad under unclear circumstances and their cadavers are just ripe for the exploiting as far as these folks are concerned.

As I pointed out above, there’s going to be nonstop speculation about what caused the plane to crash. Radar plots leave much to speculation, as to whether there was a mechanical problem, but without voice recording, no way to know.

We can go on endlessly about what might have happened, but as with MH17, no way to know without having the voice and data recorders.

It’s yet another reason to have some mechanism in place to transmit the voice/data to a secure site to see what is going on with the aircraft in case there’s a problem like this.

What’s the odds he manages to throw in the conspiracy theories about EgyptAir Flight 990?

I think things have changed from Pam Am 103 enough that that sequence of events would not be repeated. The diagram from Greece is especially weird.

I wonder who the Egyptian Passengers were.

re: #244 Timothy Watson

That incident is very well explained. Not too different from the Pilot Suicide last year,.

Al-Batouti was the co-pilot that the NTSB suspected of deliberately crashing Flight 990 into the ocean, an assertion denied by Egyptian authorities. According to the flight recorders recovered after the crash, Al-Batouti asked to relieve the takeoff co-pilot far ahead of the normal shift, and then turned off the autopilot after the captain left the cockpit. Al-Batouti led the plane into a dive, continually repeating, “Tawkalt ala Allah” (Arabic: توكلت على الله‎), which translates to “I rely on God”, 11 times. This phrase can also mean “I entrust myself unto God,” hinting that he knew he was facing death. The captain then came back into the cockpit, tried to stop the dive, but could not prevent the plane from crashing into the sea.[1]

Investigators learned from another pilot that Al-Batouti was supposedly reprimanded for repeated inappropriate behaviour with female guests at the Hotel Pennsylvania, a New York City hotel often used by EgyptAir crews. Hatem Roushdy, the EgyptAir official said to be responsible for the alleged reprimand, was a passenger on Flight 990. Investigators confirmed that shortly before the flight, Roushdy revoked Al-Batouti’s privilege of flying to the United States and informed him that Flight 990 would be his last on the route.[4][5][6]

The Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority disputes the cause of the crash, blaming mechanical problems rather than any action of Al-Batouti.[3][7]

There was Western media speculation that Al-Batouti may have been a terrorist, although his family and friends indicated that he had no strong political beliefs.

Not terrorism, but a case of Murder-Suicide.

Indeed; in a pre-game interview with one of the American players, he said the Czech team was one of the best out there and Team USA would have to be on its A-game to beat them.

Which they were. Something I noticed was that quite a few Czech fans badly underestimated Team USA, figuring it would be a cakewalk.

Not that it means much since most NHL players aren’t Americans but I think an American team has won the Stanley Cup for the last twenty years plus. Not sure though. Of all the team sports, I know least about hockey.

To be honest, I’m not a big hockey fan myself, but here in the Czech Republic, you need to follow it because Czechs do love them some ice hockey. A friend of mine, she’s crazy about it. I went to her town to watch a match in an outdoor fanzone with a Jumbotron-type screen when the Czechs played against Latvia, and she was ecstatic when the Czechs won at the last moment. The GOP is all about government so small that it can crawl up inside the naughty bits. Whether a woman’s genitals (espeically and including with unnecessary and invasive medical procedures like transvaginal ultrasounds), or demanding people be checked for which bathroom they may enter.

But remember, it’s the godless heathens who are instigating the culture wars and forcing bathroom “wars” when the GOP were the ones who initiated these invasive and unenforceable laws all to discriminate against minorities.

Let’s not forget, that it wasn’t so long ago when right wingers were demanding blacks use separate bathrooms too.

It sounds like a broken record when it comes to these things, but frankly the GOP is convinced that they have to refight the past 50 years of expanded civil and human rights, all while curbing the rights of women to control their own bodies.

This is how fascism comes to America

What these people do not or will not see is that, once in power, Trump will owe them and their party nothing. He will have ridden to power despite the party, catapulted into the White House by a mass following devoted only to him. By then that following will have grown dramatically. Today, less than 5 percent of eligible voters have voted for Trump. But if he wins the election, his legions will comprise a majority of the nation. Imagine the power he would wield then. In addition to all that comes from being the leader of a mass following, he would also have the immense powers of the American presidency at his command: the Justice Department, the FBI, the intelligence services, the military. Who would dare to oppose him then? Certainly not a Republican Party that laid down before him even when he was comparatively weak. And is a man like Trump, with infinitely greater power in his hands, likely to become more humble, more judicious, more generous, less vengeful than he is today, than he has been his whole life? Does vast power un-corrupt?

This is how fascism comes to America, not with jackboots and salutes (although there have been salutes, and a whiff of violence) but with a television huckster, a phony billionaire, a textbook egomaniac “tapping into” popular resentments and insecurities, and with an entire national political party — out of ambition or blind party loyalty, or simply out of fear — falling into line behind him.

I’m pointing out how idiotic it is to try and dictate to other people how they should react to something, which I’ve seen happen a number of times over the past few days and I’m fairly sick of. re: #332 jaunte

The ISI is thought by some American Intelligence Experts to be a de facto Terrorist Organization, so technically, Trump has ties to Terrorism.

The Associated Press reported that “the president said Mullen’s statement ‘expressed frustration’ over the insurgent safe havens in Pakistan. But Obama said ‘the intelligence is not as clear as we might like in terms of what exactly that relationship is.’ Obama added that whether Pakistan’s ties with the Haqqani network are active or passive, Pakistan has to deal with it.”[89][90]

The Guantanamo Bay files leak, however, showed that the US authorities unofficially consider the ISI as a terrorist organization equally dangerous as Al Qaeda and Taliban, and many allegations of its supporting terrorist activities have been made.[91][92]

And the plan to replace the street mains/lines doesn’t help people who now have to replace the old pipes in their homes that were damaged by Synder’s EM decisions.

The fact of the matter is you can NOT tell someone’s birth gender by looking at them. There are quite honestly a lot of transgendered women who look a lot more feminine than some non-transgendered women. What are Republicans proposing we seriously do? That we have guards that ask for your birth certificate that shows your gender at birth? IT’s typical of Republicans to invent yet a non-existent problem.

The family of Allison Meadows is suing Target, claiming they had inadequate security when Leon Walls stabbed her.

Turner stepped in that day and tried to stop Walls from doing further injury to her.

But Target is suing Turner and others claiming they brought an outside altercation with Walls, just prior to the stabbing, into the store and that none of it would have happened except for that altercation.

Didn’t Donald say that too? That a terrorist attack would be good for him?

And when I would take my daughter shopping I would go take/take from her things to try on. They all had doors on them. I can’t ever remember going into a dressing room that was setup all open like a gym locker room.

Outlet stores often have one big room, mirrors all around, where two dozen customers all change together and comment on each other’s selections. They’ll hand stuff back and forth (“this sweater’s a little too tight on me, why don’t you try it. And hand me those pants that didn’t fit you right.”)

First claimed the child land on the gun, that was laying on the bed, and caused it to fire. Then admitted pointing gun and threatening the child, to get him to stop jumping on the bed, and the gun “accidentally” fired.

Oh, from other images I’ve seen, the tattoo over his eyebrow appears to be his last name. I guess he couldn’t spell “WINNER”…

That has got to be the worst use of a gun I’ve ever heard. Are there more like him out there that think like this? Have guns gotten so casual to some they can’t even put their destruction into perspective enough to know this way way wrong?

No…no gun problems in America. Sign up some more idiots that use them for a fight over a piece of pizza (true Columbus Ohio story) or as a way to threaten punishment for a child? No problems here.

Loehmann’s dressing rooms are like that. Which is just one reason I never shop at Loehmann’s.

Wow, that is strange. Even all the guy dressing rooms I have ever been in have had separate stalls.

More suave stylings of Steve King:

Iowa Republican warns trans-friendly restrooms will lead to throngs of ‘sweaty women’

My gut feeling is that this issue is going to peak before November and it’s not going to work at bringing in large crowds of rabid haters to the polls. The rabid haters will already crawl over broken glass to vote against Hillary, and a lot of the not-so-rabid voters will think that this is maybe a shitty idea.

My thoughts anyway. I hope to see it fizzle before November.

Question. Can Sean Hannity and some others at FOX be used as a lubricant? I’m trying to find some actual benefit in them. I’m thinking these guys and gals are so oily they could be rubbed on mechanical parts and be as good as any lubricant.

They all came out to vote against all the gay marriage resolutions in 2004.They’re energized, they always vote. That well is dry. There are no more drooling morons to be had that way, but the GOP thinks there are.

If Sanders supporters complained about other things the way they complain about election results
By Alexandra Petri

To be honest, considering what Serbia did in both Bosnia and Kosovo, they should have been occupied like Germany was in WWII.

He’s trying to make it sound as though telling his CHIEF CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER not to eat too much candy (for her own good, because how would she know otherwise?) is THE WORST THING he has ever said to a woman.

BTW he just called that Chief Construction Engineer “nasty” because she gave an interview to MSNBC explaining why she supports Hillary.
