What they really want is a set of rules that keeps Bernie competitive. Want one that lets them believe he’s just a win in California away from clinching the title. It’s the baseball team that wants the rules changed at the top of the ninth to give them a chance to get back in the game.

Oklahoma lawmakers call ‘state of emergency’ to stop trans kids from using the restroom

“This directive to schools is not only unlawful, but the breadth of overreach in this instance by the Obama Administration is shocking,” said state Rep. John Bennett (R). Bennett co-sponsored a concurrent resolution calling for the federal House of Representatives to impeach President Barack Obama regarding the issue.

I think they’re afraid transgender people are infectious, and being near one will trigger an instant sex change.

61
wheat-dogghazi-mailgate  May 19, 2016 • 9:02:52pm

Again, I note that it’s only the adults outside the schools that are making a big stink about trans kids in restrooms. Students, teachers and administrators seem unconcerned. Perhaps it’s because there are maybe only a handful of trans kids in any given school, if any at all.

Hey Rightwingconspirator, hope things are a little more relaxed at your twenty. That actually happened to me once when I was living in Denver. Shotgun in hand, I searched the whole house and there was nobody there, and nothing was missing (that house had probably tens of thousands of dollars worth of outdoor gear, computers and musical instruments inside). 10 minutes later my roommate came in and admitted he just plum forgot to shut the back door when he went to the store. We lived right next to a Safeway, like literally right next to it. Horror turned to amusement instantly.

Oddly enough, I rather suspect that Rage Furby, who constantly crows about “alpha males,” was probably one of the kids who was stuffed into lockers in junior high school. He shows none of the characteristics of the so-called alpha male, like career success or adulation by thousands of followers. He did manage to marry an attractive woman, but that says nothing about the gender dynamics in Chez Johnson.

So…I don’t feel right about saying this here, but I also don’t feel right about NOT saying it either. One thing a trans person learns very early on, is DTA: Don’t Trust Anybody.

We have lesbians and/or feminists who cooperate with wingnuts to try to prevent the only thing that has ever been shown to help trans people feel accepted in the world, and that’s accepting them. We have friends and family that can seem like they’d be trustworthy, until you actually tell them that YOU are trans, etc etc. Hell, it even seems like large parts of the LGBT community had to be dragged into supporting trans rights by someone who isn’t even PART of that community!

And now, we get to the important part. I have “non-standard” ideas of fun in a Fifty Shades of OMGTHAT’S SHITTY WRITING kind of way and I’m somewhat trans too. Somewhere along the line, the Great Bathroom Panic of 2016 got all up in some of our own. I don’t mean a random person who is into this kind of thing, but just isn’t interested in trans people, but someone who has made a not-insignificant career in this over YEARS…SPECIFICALLY MARKETING TO TRANS PEOPLE.

As I said, trans people learn very early: DTA.

Why Bernie Lost (And Why His Supporters Need To Face Reality)

As the Democratic primary process draws to a close, Sanders’ language has gotten increasingly fiery, and his supporters have bristled at the idea of conceding. Sanders continues to lie to his supporters, telling them that he has a path to the Democratic nomination. He tells his crowds that with a big win in California, he can close the gap in pledged delegates and overtake Hillary Clinton. Let’s be honest. He’s lying, and we all know that he’s lying. Hillary Clinton won by every metric possible. She won more states, she won the popular vote by nearly 3 million, she won in pledged delegates (by nearly 300, three times Obama’s largest lead), and she won the superdelegates. There is not a single democratic metric which Bernie Sanders won. If you think that the will of the people should decide elections, then you can’t possibly believe that Bernie Sanders should be the nominee.

The 2008 race between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton was a close one. This time around, Clinton’s margins dwarf Obama’s, and she has largely crushed Sanders. It wasn’t the elites. It wasn’t the one percent. It wasn’t Wall-Street or the big banks. It was regular people. More people wanted Hillary Clinton to be President than wanted Bernie Sanders. Sometimes it really is that simple. In politics, like in life, sometimes you just lose.
There Is No Conspiracy against Bernie Sanders

Sanders supporters have also claimed that Bernie would have won, if not for Clinton’s Wall-Street connections and big money influencing the election. The problem with that assessment is that Sanders outraised and outspent Clinton throughout 2016. In New York, he outspent her by a 2-1 margin and still lost decisively, by double digits. Sanders also outspent Hillary on ads in the April 26 primary states of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Connecticut, Rhone Island, and Delaware $4.6 million to $2.4 million. He only won a single state — Rhode Island, making April 26th one of his poorest performances of the primary season. If anything, Sanders proved that outraising and outspending your opponent doesn’t mean you’ll actually beat them.

Bernie didn’t lose because of some nonexistent conspiracy, and he didn’t lose because of money. Bernie lost because he couldn’t convince minority voters. Sanders tied or won the white vote nearly everywhere. In states that were nearly homogeneous (mostly white), Sanders dominated, besting Clinton by significant margins. But in the big, diverse states, Sanders struggled mightily and lost minorities by big numbers. States such as Florida, Virginia, Texas, New York, and Arizona were all major losses for Sanders, and all of those states have significant Black or Latino populations. In fact, demographics have the highest correlation of any metric of Sanders success or failure — states where Black voters comprised over 10 percent of the population, Sanders lost. When Black voters were less than 10 percent of the population, Sanders won. The primary essentially boils down to Bernie’s inability to connect with minorities. If he could have sold Black and Latino voters on his vision, he would be the nominee. They overwhelmingly rejected him though — for a number of reasons — so he lost.

I’m pretty sure I’ve put out the various fires from my accidental tweet dump into my Facebook. A friend of mine in Boulder, hardcore BernieBro (I know, right?), accused me of false equivalencies and going down the road of generalizing whole populations. I basically told him “Fuck you I’m tired of your shit and BernieBros in general, Bernie is single handedly fracturing the Democratic Party and Bernie is an asshole and a scoundrel.”

I haven’t heard back from him, though no blocking has taken place. Hell, he posted about “cultural appropriation” yesterday evening and I shared an LGF page by Thanos with him about that and he liked it.

I consider the guy a good friend, we’ve been a crew in a band that toured all over Colorado, we’ve celebrated birthdays, we’ve skied deep powder.

Seems that his supporters are really in need of remedial math. And Jane and the rest of Bernie’s campaign staff need serious math and accounting lessons.

Oh, did I go there? Yes. I did. These sanctimonious folks claim all manner of purity and that they are the true future of the Democratic party? They don’t have the numbers to suggest that they’re anything more than a speed bump.

But the media must continue running that this is a horse race, and that the general election will be close between Hillary and Trump because it’s good for ratings. That supersedes facts and that Trump is wholly unqualified to even visit the White House. He is utterly and shamelessly lacking in character and judgment to be president.

His off the cuff statements are enough to roil markets, start wars, end decades long alliances and strategic partnerships, and yet his supporters ignore all that because they hear “tax cuts” and “walls” all while Trump’s going for tax cuts that will massively add to the debt, shift the burdens on to everyone else, and he thinks he can cash out.

Classy. It’s what we expect of the Trump campaign.

Onlookers were stunned to see Hicks, 27, hollering at Lewandowski, 42, in plain view of passersby on 61st Street near Park Avenue.

One witness told us, ” Hope was screaming at Corey, ‘I am done with you!’ It was ugly, she was doubled over with her fists clenched. He was stood there looking shocked with his hands on his head.”

Other sources insist the street showdown was about how to handle the announcement that seasoned political operative Paul Manafort would be taking an even larger role in Trump’s campaign, and how Lewandowski’s role would be defined going forward.

Another source told us, “It was a campaign-related disagreement. They were arguing how the announcement about Manafort taking more responsibility would be handled. There is an internal struggle to define what Corey’s role would be. “

A third source added, “It was a continuation of a discussion about when the announcement would go out. Corey wanted to wait until Thursday to give him a chance to talk to certain people first. Hicks was under pressure by others to make the announcement sooner.”

No wonder the right wingers are butthurt over the fact that Facebook, a private business enterprise, isn’t pushing right wing hatchet jobs masquerading as “news” in their aggregators (though as the right wing would claim, it’s denying the FB audience the facts and news they deserve).

Hate admitting? When “assault” style weapons are used, odds are that it’s in the course of a mass shooting, where there’s a significant number of casualties.

Most shootings involve handguns, followed by shotguns. That’s per FBI stats.

The gun rights absolutists refuse to do anything to reduce firearms shootings, whether it’s closing loopholes, tightening gun laws in lax gun law states which allow sales of guns to those who then turn around and resell them on the black market for use elsewhere (The Iron Pipelines that run up I-95 to the NYC metro area, or similar routes to Chicago or Detroit from South).

They consider the death toll from suicides and accidental shootings to be the blood that waters the tree of “Freedom/Liberty.”

Any notion that mental health screenings might be part of the background checks is blocked, in part perhaps more than a few of these folks realize that they’d be found mentally ill or incompetent to own firearms.

So, the death toll continues apace. We get daily/weekly reports about how toddlers are shot by guns left out by “responsible” gun owners or are themselves shot by the “respectable” gun owners. Or how countless people accidentally shoot themselves in routine handling of firearms.

All of which adds to the health care costs incurred nationally. That’s a bill that is avoidable - or at least able to be reduced in some fashion.

I think that is the reason why they oppose mental health screenings because there’s definitely some mental issues with many of these gun hoarders. Honestly, I’m sick of them thinking that our safety has to be de-prioritized because they’re paranoid assholes who need tons of guns. I am also tired of them wanting to blame everything including Engle v Vitale (the decision that banned forced prayer in schools) except easy access to guns. Honestly, I’m sick of them thinking that our safety has to be de-prioritized because they’re paranoid assholes who need tons of guns. I am also tired of them wanting to blame everything including Engle v Vitale (the decision that banned forced prayer in schools) except easy access to guns. It’s like they have a trigger in their head that makes them excuse anything but guns for tragedies.

They don’t like the notion that some doctor with a degree from some liberal university might be able to take away a True Patriot’s right to own and carry as many guns as he sees fit.

Onomatopoeia question: There’s the sound you make, I think it would be spelled “eew” - though we tend to draw it out for emphasis - when we want to signify something disgusting. I just made a sound that might be spelled similarly, for a good idea. The difference is the emphasis at the end. How would you indicate the difference between those in writing?

So, I gave Rage Furby’s latest diatribe against the world another go. Still a head scratcher in places, but as usual he makes everything about him (Facebook kicked me off twice for no reason!! They’re so mean!!) and about greater forces (alpha males, macroeconomics, political skulldggery, GamerGate, unemployed millennials, Gender Studies) working together to prevent FREEDOM!!!

Here’s a sample paragraph, in which he attempts to share some deep thoughts:

Safe spaces, Lebensraum, opportunity zones — all the same thing!

It all distills down to one main idea. He wants to be able to say whatever he wants, and do whatever he wants online without any repercussions or regulation. Since Facebook and Twitter won’t let him do that, they are both evil and are **doomed** (Cue trumpets: da da DAAHHH!).

Crybaby.

A guy who was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2012 shot two policemen last week here in NH (they both survived, thankfully). His father said, “how on earth was my son able to purchase a weapon?” The details still haven’t come out yet.

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) requires English proficiency as a standard, particularly when dealing with ATC, on international routes.

That reduces the chances that someone might misunderstand ATC direction or the ATC might misunderstand communications coming from a particular aircraft in their airspace.

Doesn’t mean that a crew member wont use their native tongue in shouting an exclamation when bad things go down.

“Today, I don’t think that there is a fear of Islam as such but of ISIS and its war of conquest, which is partly drawn from Islam,” he told French newspaper La Croix. “It is true that the idea of conquest is inherent in the soul of Islam, however, it is also possible to interpret the objective in Matthew’s Gospel, where Jesus sends his disciples to all nations, in terms of the same idea of conquest.”

I found the blog post where they got the quotes. Here’s the quotes in context:

Recently I have been carrying my M&P in a Raven Concealment Systems Vanguard II minimalist appendix holster. This offered a new problem in that the single quick mount strap would not retain the upright position, and of course it is carried in the appendix position. I have found the best solution with this concealed carry option to be unclipping the QMS strap and placing the gun in my pants crotch, with the VGII trigger guard still attached.

There are a few reasons for this: I know where it is. There is zero chance I leave that bathroom and forget it. If I forget it for a second, I will quickly realize it once I pull up and catch it in the doo-dads … then I can simply snap up, reattach the VGII and buckle up. Tactically speaking, it is where I can still feasibly get to it should I need it in that vulnerable moment I am currently in, and the trigger is still covered. This method can also be used with a paddle or similar style holster that can be removed once the belt is unbuckled. The one pictured is an RCS Phantom LB with QMS Straps.

And yes he provides pictures.

Where do candidates for the Kansas Legislature stand on human-animal hybrids?

That’s something that Kansans For Life, the state’s leading anti-abortion group, wants to know.

A questionnaire that KFL’s political action committee sent out to legislative candidates this month asks candidates whether they oppose human cloning and the creation of human-animal hybrids, which the group refers to as chimeras.

What the hell?? Emphasis mine:

Kept out: School discourages gay, transgender enrollment

In the letter, Breitkreutz outlined new rules that required parents to provide a birth certificate and sign a parent handbook agreement prior to enrollment.

The birth certificate allows the school to know the child’s born gender, and the handbook agreement — which apparently was recommended by the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod — lists discretions for which a student can be disciplined and expelled, including homosexuality.

Because the school receives federal funds for its lunch program, transportation and through the No Child Left Behind program, it must comply with civil rights laws, Breitkreutz wrote. That means it can’t deny entry to protected classes, such as homosexual and transgender students.

“If we cannot legally refuse students who are struggling with homosexuality or gender identification, we must maintain our right to hold to the truths of God’s Word,” Breitkreutz wrote. “In other words, although we do not have the right to refuse admittance to people choosing an outwardly sinful lifestyle, we do maintain the right to discipline and dismiss students for these choices.” […]

MATH!!!

Every time a person with a gun walks past another person, real or imaginary, their having a gun counts as a defensive use. Everyone’s dangerous!

Fair nuff but yeah it’s pretty pathetic to call Obama and Clinton losers. They’ve both accomplished quite a bit outside the political arena anyhow. Dinesh just hates public service because the idea of serving anyone other than his right wing paymasters repulses him.

That NRA Convention everyone is talking about sounds like an evangelical church. Preaching to those that want to believe as long as the suits are slick enough and the tongues sharp but pleasing.

“Hillary is gonna take your guns brothers and sisters like the devil outside these doors is gonna take your souls. The only way to save yourself is with the purchase of some cold blue steel, wood and plastics. A gun…yesiree that is what you need. Save yourselves from evil progressive Satan.”

And they bought…and they felt safe…they defeated Hillary. Bless The Holy Gun.

The pollsters may toy with us, like last Fall when they told us Conway was ahead of Bevin.

You mean like getting fired as a University President for failing to do your job, Dinesh?

Bernie went to Northwestern. These are people who chose to spend their lives in public service, Dinesh, you know who else did that- Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, to name a few. By the way, your party’s speaker in the House, his private sector experience consists of working at McDonalds and at his daddy’s business but he’s so not a loser right? //

The presumptive nominee’s private sector experience also consists of working at his daddy’s business.

The answer the question on the Front is no.

Not because we aren’t great, but because the technology is quite there yet.

Detroit Local Powers First EV Charging Road in North America The road, about a mile from Local 58's hall, uses rubber-coated copper inductive-charging coils buried under the asphalt that transfer power to a receiver pad attached to a car's underbelly, much like how a phone can be charged wirelessly. ...
