Trump: “I Will Give You Everything. I’m the Only One.”

Taking political promises to a deranged new level
Politics • Views: 49,259

Donald Trump says so many ridiculous, hateful and nonsensical things that it’s all turning into a blur of idiocy, but this week in his speech about his so-called “energy policy” (which is basically: abolish all environmental protections and turn the country over to the energy industries), he emitted a statement that made even my now-jaded head spin.

“Politicians have used you and stolen your votes. They have given you nothing,” Trump said. “I will give you everything. I will give you what you’ve been looking for for 50 years. I’m the only one.

He’s sounding more like a deranged cult leader every day.

Usually, you are taught that both the content and the tone of your talk matters. Trump does not have content. His supporters do not want content. They do not care about content. They literally just like the way he sounds, the loud id they perceive as strength.

Ok, Donald, I already have a Rolls-Royce (albeit a very old one), so how about a Gulfstream, and an airworthy P-51, and 20 years worth of fuel and maintenance on each? A trip back to the Moon and then on to Mars would be nice, too, though I won’t insist on going myself (there’s a limit to everything you know).

Just like the asshole used car salesman who promises everything under the sun to get a signature on those loan papers.

And just like that same salesman Trump won’t give two shits about you AFTER the fact.

The comment is even worse than it appears because he was addressing unemployed minorities and the poor at the time. Also, this speech was on a teleprompter, so it was planned, not off the cuff.

Watch him pretend he cares about the poor:

There are so many disqualifying things Trump has done, but his involvement with Trump University reveals a lot about why is has no business being president.

Being party to that disgraceful scam shows just how willing he is to lie and misrepresent things for his own gain. Given the number of times Trump has been sued (over 150) it seems like he gravitates to enterprises where someone is going to get screwed——-that’s the part he really enjoys. I really believe that Trump prefers screwing people over more than merely making money. He only wins if someone else loses. He just cannot enjoy a win/win situation.

Gee, I thought it was liberals that gave away all the free stuff. /s

If the GOP is going to continually whipsaw their message, the least they could do is give us a copy of their Plan of the Day. After all, they all have copies of our Geyh Agenda and plans to take over the country through women’s bathrooms and Geyh Marriage.

This is not the only time Trump has said something recently which should disqualify him from being POTUS. Last week he said he would approve the Keystone Pipeline deal if he were POTUS, and that he thinks he should make money by doing so. For me, this was a definite clue that he wouldn’t be above making decisions as president that would serve his best interests, especially if he could make a dollar by doing so—-damn acting in the best interests of the nation and our citizens.

Planned trip in a Smart car (interestingly it takes us through the same border crossing in Saskatchewan we went through last year, so we can catch up on news with the Canadian customs official who was so nice to us last year):

mapq.st (Goes to Mapquest, showing our driving route. Since much of the western USA portion is very lonely, if we come up missing send dogs with brandy).

The spike at the north end of the map in Manitoba is The Pas, that is where we will catch the train to Hudson Bay. The rest of the trip through Michigan and Illinois is to visit family.

Literally almost everything he has said disqualifies him from becoming President. Yet I see front page articles every day, including today, that insist ‘Both Trump and Clinton are liars’.

re: #12 Renaissance_Man

Yeah, about that pipeline, we have a whole bunch of ranchers and farmers here in Nebraska that fought a court case against the state claiming eminent domain for a commercial purpose. Part of the reason the pipeline was cancelled was because TransCanada lost. The state government did too (the courts found the state was violating our state constitution).

I don’t think our ranchers and farmers would be very happy with Mr. Trump condemning their land. (Keep up, Mr. Trump; flip my state blue.)

We plunge toward an election between Hillary and a guy that no one knows to this day what the hell he is up to, what he is going to do as a president and how he will do it.

We get to consider a guy that makes a statement like the one this page is about.

We get to consider a guy that has told everyone everything they have wanted to hear and even told them that was what he was doing the whole time.

Everything he has said was a policy or position he said was just an outline and can be changed after a little push back.

Then we get to hear he will be more presidential and move to the center and be less an ass to quell the Republican Party established politicians. They all jump on Trump Train and again have no idea where the train is going.

Have we ever had a less-defined, unknown, fly-by-the-seat of your pants character wing his way to our highest office?

And at the same time have people that will vote for him knowing they don’t know him.

This has insanity written all over it.

Ummmm……

OK, I’ll admit to being virtually innumerate, and statistics are basically a foreign alien language to me, but even I can see the flaws in this post….

Isn’t it true that except for those primaries/caucuses held after most of the other Republican candidates had dropped out, Trump usually “won” with a plurality, rather than an absolute majority? If he indeed had had only one opponent, wouldn’t the likelihood be that we would be looking at the (equally dismal, but exponentially less-frightening) prospect of a Ted Cruz or Jeb Bush candidacy? With The Donald and his sick personality-cult reduced to a convention sideshow?

CuriousLurker  May 30, 2016 • 1:43:29pm

Any woman (or man) who has ever dated an abusive, manipulative creep will recognize Trump’s promises for exactly what they are—100% bullshit. “No, babe, don’t believe your lying eyes—look at me and listen to what I’m saying: It’ll all be good, I promise.”

Back when I drove a taxi I knew guys who could give you a soulful look and make tears well up in their eyes on cue. I’m not exaggerating. I know this because (when they forgot I was there and weren’t paying attention) I’d listen to them talk about women.

When they’d realize I’d been listening, but wasn’t going to condemn them (I’d tell them how convincing some of their lies were, which they took as praise) I would ask them to give me their best “sincere look” and lie to me. Some were frighteningly good at it.

Unfortunately, that’s exactly what the electorate believes.

Cable news is no longer a news show. Like all shows on American television, it is a reality TV drama. People watch American TV to be entertained, and only for that purpose - what they see on a screen represents entertainment, not reality, because of the blurring of the line between reality and entertainment that has been ongoing for the past 25 years or so. When people watch Duck Dynasty, or Honey Boo Boo, or The Bachelor, they know in some way that it’s really happening somewhere, but it’s not real to them at all; rather, it’s a drama that they can watch and talk about, but is somehow distant to them.

Well, now the whole world is like that, thanks to the realitification and entertainification of cable news. Events in the Middle East or Europe? A new plot twist. Disasters in the US? Another twist thrown at them. And the stars of these dramas are characters designed by the producers to keep viewer interest - the Kenyan Muslim President, the Russian Strongman, Crooked Hillary Clinton, and The Donald. They’ll vote for these characters, but it will have exactly as much import to them as a vote for The Voice or America’s Got Talent.

Unfortunately, if Trump wins, and I think he has only just under a 50-50 shot at this point, it will be because American media insisted on presenting him as a viable, serious candidate and Republicans were too cowardly to say no. And they have insisted on presenting him as a serious candidate because the most important thing is entertainment, and the creation of characters that Keep People Watching. And American viewers will vote for the character because the next four seasons will be interesting as a result.

This is how Trump gave his casino employees “everything” when he unloaded his bankrupt Taj Mahal.

“On Sept. 9, 2014, Trump Entertainment Resorts, Inc., and its affiliated debtors including Trump filed a voluntary petition under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code,” the union told the justices. On Sept. 26, Trump filed a motion with the bankruptcy judge “seeking to reject the collective bargaining agreement and implement different terms proposed by Trump.”

Union officials and Trump’s representatives met twice to discuss a new contract, but were unable to agree. The bankruptcy judge then granted Trump’s motion on Oct. 17, 2014.

“Trump immediately implemented the changes in terms and conditions of employment that the Union had rejected. It ceased making contributions to the pension, health and welfare, and severance funds that provided benefits to Trump’s employees. It expanded its own authority to consolidate positions, assign work and subcontract, which resulted in layoffs and loss of pay,” the union said.

This is how the Republican’s presidential choice looks out for the little guy, or should I say, himself. I realize that this will make no impact on the legions of idiots who plan to vote for him, but when he screws them over they can’t say they weren’t warned (but they will, anyway).

For a President Trump, global real estate deals present unprecedented gray areas

BAKU, Azerbaijan — In the center of downtown, an unfinished five-star hotel sits locked and empty, a ghostly shell completely dark at night except for the glowing white letters at its elegant, sail-shaped peak: TRUMP TOWER.

Construction on the Trump International Hotel & Tower here in Azerbaijan’s capital stopped last year when the country’s oil-driven economy crashed amid plummeting oil prices. The local owner and developer, facing potentially huge losses, is scrambling to renegotiate contracts and get the building open.

But Donald Trump, who invested virtually no money in the project while selling the rights to use his name and holding the contract to manage the property, has made millions. The presumptive Republican presidential nominee reported $2.5 million in income from the project between January 2014 and July 2015 and an additional $323,000 in management fees in the months since, according to his financial disclosure report.

Gray areas are good in Trumpland. They can be exploited by expensive lawyers.

If you look at Obama hugging a Hiroshima survivor and think any of the following:

Feckless-Apologist-America Hating

You’re a damaged person and what’s wrong with the world.

I can’t help but look at that photo and think about the pain and suffering 70 years ago between two countries and much of the world, the healing and growth, the humanity that has painstakingly returned.

One can have a conversation about whether we really needed to drop nukes or not without going off the fucking rails. But I really don’t consider that when the current leader of the free world and a survivor of a world war hug each other.

The Trump promise versus the Trump reality.

When we open in 2015, visitors and residents will experience a luxurious property unlike anything else in Baku — it will be among the finest in the world,” Trump said in the 2014 news release. He called Garant “one of the paramount companies in burgeoning Azerbaijan.”

Mammadov said then that his company was “thrilled to work with the Trump Organization, the most renowned luxury developer in the world.”

During a visit to the building site, Trump’s daughter Ivanka gushed that the building “reflects the highest level of luxury and refinement.”

“We are looking forward to bringing our unparalleled Trump services and amenities to Azerbaijan,” she said.

But, Oops.

The Baku hotel went up on the Trump website. The 2015 opening was promised.

Then, nothing.

In December, the hotel disappeared from the Trump site.

The general manager hired by Trump left for a job in Prague.

Construction crews were sent home, and the hotel was locked up tight.

Today, a couple of security guards and a sleepy caretaker keep an eye on the place, which is overgrown with weeds. A huge globe that says “TRUMP” sits in a fountain filled with sand and litter, near the locked-up front entrance.

The caretaker gave a recent tour using the flashlight app on his phone to navigate a basement passageway, stepping around loose wires hanging from unfinished fixtures; there is virtually no electricity and no water in the building.

Guess what. You’ve been Trumped.

My internet has been down most of the day, so I spent the time reading John Grisham’s Gray Mountain.
Yowser, he totally captured the essence of the people and spirit of Appalachia, as well as the evilness of Big Coal. For every fictional character in the novel, I know someone just like them in real life.

When I finished the book, I did a walkabout around my little part of Appalachia.
The blue flags (Iris versicolor), one of my favorite native wildflowers, are blooming like gangbusters and they are beautiful.

Donald Trump shows his respect for the laws of the US.

Does everybody have a little time? [cheers and applause] so I end up with a lawsuit, and it ends up in San Diego in federal court. It is a disgrace the way the federal court is acting, because it is a simple lawsuit. Everybody that took the so-called course. Trump University is in San Diego. The trial, they wanted it to start while I am running for president. The trial is going to take place sometime in November. There should be no trial. This should have been dismissed on summary judgment easily. Everybody says it, but I have a judge who is a hater of Donald trump. He’s a hater. His name is Gonzalo Curial. And he is not doing the right thing. I figure what the hell? Why not talk about it for two minutes. Should I talk about it? Yes? [cheers and applause] so we should have won… .

But I am getting railroaded by a legal system, and frankly they should be ashamed. I will be here in November. Hey, if I win as president, it is a civil case. I could have settled this case numerous times. But I don’t want to settle cases when we are right. I don’t believe in it. When you start settling cases, do you know what happens? Everybody sues you because you get known as a settler. One thing about me, I am not known as the settler. And people understand with this whole thing, with this whole deal with the lawyers, class action lawyers are the worst. It is a scam. Here is what happens. We are in front of a very hostile judge. The judge was appointed by by Barrack Obama - federal judge. [Boos]. Frankly he should recuse himself. He has given us ruling after ruling, negative, negative, negative. I have a top lawyer who said he has never seen anything like this before. So what happens is we get sued. We have a Magistrate named William Gallo who truly hates us. The good news is it is a jury trial. We can even get a fully jury. We are entitled to a jury, and we want a jury of 12 people. And you are going to watch. First of all, it should be dismissed. Watch how we win it was I have been treated unfairly. Very much like with the veterans, where I raised all that money, but on Tuesday I am announcing all of the groups we are giving almost $6 million to. You turn things around. Here is the story. We have a law firm named Robin Skeller. It is the spin-off of two law firms. Two of those partners went to jail for an extended period of time for doing very bad things legally. This same group is the lawyers against. So what happens is the judge, who happens to be, we believe Mexican, which is great. I think that is fine. You know what? I think the Mexicans are going to end up loving Donald Trump when I give all these jobs. I think they are going to love it. I think they are going to love me… .

A lot of people said before you run you should settle. I said I don’t care. The people understand it. And they use it. So when I have 10,000 people, and when we have mostly unbelievable reviews, how do you settle? And in fact, when the case started originally, I said how can I settle when I have a review like this? Now I should have settled, but I am glad I didn’t. I will be seeing you in November either as president. And I will say this. I have all these great reviews, but I will say this. I think Judge Curiel should be ashamed of himself. I think it is a disgrace he is doing this. I look forward to going before a jury, not this judge, and we will win that trial. We will win that trial. Check it out. Check it out, folks. You know, I tell this to people. November 28. I think it is scheduled for. It should not be a trial. It should be a summary judgment dismissal… .

It is a disgrace. It is a rigged system. I had a rigged system, except we won by so much. This court system, the judges in this court system, federal court. They ought to look into Judge Curiel because what Judge Curiel is doing is a total disgrace. Ok? But we will come back in November. Wouldn’t that be wild if I am president and come back and do a civil case? Where everybody likes it. Ok. This is called life, folks… .

So if you’re going to murder somebody, rob a store or commit any other crime make sure you have thousands of positive reviews first. They can’t touch you then.

Shooter in the West Houston mass shooting has been identified, and is a Trump supporter. He also follows Roger Stone, Sen. Jeff Sessions, Milo Yiannopoulos and Infowars. twitter.com

All the RWNJ’s who were sure it it was a Muslim or at least a Black Lives Matter advocate are now pretending this never occurred I’m sure.

Good lord that is some serious word salad going on. And I’m sure that his legal team is just thrilled about him making comments about the Judge. :)

Looks like a good guy with a gun got shot also. Emphasis added because where he was from & the fact that he served in Afghanistan will be grist for the CT mill.:

HOUSTON (KTRK) —A source close to the investigation has identified the suspect in Sunday’s west Houston mass shooting as a 25-year-old veteran from California. Dionisio Garza III is from San Bernardino County and served in Afghanistan. He was discharged from active duty in 2014, and doesn’t appear to have a criminal history. […]

Another shooter is in the hospital, but according to HPD sources, this second armed person is not a suspect. They tell us he tried to shoot the suspect, but was shot himself. […]

I could have been PTSD (as long as he wasn’t Muslim, in which case it would be impossible). According to the NIH, as of 2009 there were about 7.7 million American adults suffering from PTSD, but AFAIK the vast majority don’t run around shooting people.

We have a female Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, 5 1/2 years old, and she is amazing. Truly a gentle giant. She and Curtis (the new guy) are getting along famously now that he’s big enough for her to pay attention to. I love the breed and as soon as I saw the shelter had 3 Ridgeback puppies I knew it was time to find a mate for Lusi.

A person could take days going over that speech line by line to see how poorly he puts words together. Just like Palin.

For example,

Two of those partners went to jail for an extended period of time for doing very bad things legally.

To me, doing very bad things legally is the basis of Trump’s entire career. Too bad he’ll never go to prison.

Shocker, right? That the “rich” businessman is pleading poverty and asking the GOP to bail him out? All that talk from his supporters about how awesome it was that he could self-fund his campaign, thus keeping him away from the corrupting influence of “outside” money just went up in smoke.

I saw an older ad for a guitar on Craig’s List, took a shot on responding and it was still available. There was another guy offering him a guitar and cash, but he ended up trading with me, happily. :)

Gibson’s version, called a Vibrola. Many of these guitars came with them - if you look at a lot of used ones, you see three holes where the Vibrola used to be mounted.
