Video: Hillary Clinton’s Full Foreign Policy Speech, Thrashing Donald Trump Mercilessly

Politics • Views: 39,511

YouTube

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton delivers a speech outlining her foreign policy positions and how they differ from presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Hillary Clinton brought her A game for this speech, and pulled absolutely no punches when it came to Donald Trump. She thrashed him like an orange-headed stepchild. Worth watching all the way through.

If she and her surrogates can keep that level of intensity throughout the campaign, Trump is going to suffer a nervous breakdown.

Bring it, I say.

Hillary at the end of her final speech before election night ought to hold up her hand, and ask for quiet. Then she should say “Here, Donald. You can have these back”….. and throw two orange ping pong balls on the stage, and as they bounce across the stage, rip the mic off the podium, and drop it.

Quoted to make it happen.

If only.

With all the crap he has spewed over the last year, she will have plenty to rake him over the coals with. Not to mention the tRump U trials in NY and CA.

The only thing that would have made this truly spectacular if Clinton had done the speech in the lyrical beats of Lin-Manuel Miranda. Tis a shame that she only beat Trump to a pulp with his own words.

Really, this speech today does two things. The first is that it gives folks a preview of the months long castration of Donald Trump by Hillary and the DNC. Every stupid utterance that went by without the GOP speaking up is now going to come back to haunt it.

But the second thing was that it slammed the door squarely in Bernie’s face. She could not have signaled in a more graphic way just how little regard she has for the “threat” of Bernie, either in California or at the convention. After today, the only reason the media will continue to entertain the idea that he could still “win” is because they don’t want to let go of the horse race narrative.

Worse than that for Sanders, I think. It hands them a perfectly framed yuuuuuuger, classier horse race narrative. Republican viewers mostly weren’t watching the last few rounds of Sanders-Clinton, I don’t think. I noticed a marked change in horse-flogging on the Democratic side as soon as Trump locked up the GOP nomination, even though there was no real material change in Sanders’ chances.

The media ought to have been as excited as anyone to move onto the general.

After today’s speech I think the media is going to start ignoring BS. They can do the math as well as we can. Hillary has locked in the Democratic nomination and is now going to be gunning for tRump from here on out. BS is just a footnote from this point on. The MSM will just switch the horse race narrative ti Hillary and tRump.

Good chance he is going to try to go full on attack on her and he will just show he is an angry punk. He really lacks personal moderation so he will go overboard. It is what he does. Hopefully he blows it big time and this starts a tumble in the poll numbers.

Should the poll numbers go down then he will continue to overreact and it will all make him unlikable more and more and poll numbers will go down…down…down.

Should that happen…the GOP convention could be very interesting.

I saw earlier some of the LGFers were talking about him resigning. If his number go down enough there is a chance he will try something like that, but the party will do everything they can to keep him going. A candidate tossing in the towel could really damage the entire GOP more than it is damaged right now.

It occurs to me that, given Trump’s sole raison d’etre as a candidate for President is dominance politics, this very public pantsing followed by his twitter silence is pretty damn significant. This is a guy who says, “I had no choice but to respond”, and he hasn’t.

He’s now reduced to declaring he has the opposite of thin skin. Weak. And ‘weak’ is something Trump CANNOT survive, especially at the hands of a woman. That moment of cold contempt from Carly early on hurt him, but he had lots of other male punching bags to unload on and dominate, so the effect was minimized. Let this kind of thing keep up, and he’ll be struggling badly.

I mean, if Trump can’t dominate, what’s the point of him? He has nothing else.

Earlier today, Donald Trump tweeted a screenshot from a flight simulator rendering of Redding Airport in California, apparently believing it was a freely available photograph of the airport itself. Now, the person who first took that screenshot has asked Trump to take the tweet down, claiming the Trump campaign has effectively stolen his property.

“I never gave them permission to use it,” said Jeroen Doorman, who first posted the image as a thumbnail for a Flight Simulator X video on YouTube, the apparent source for Trump’s tweet. “I’m not a big fan of any political game of any country and since he has a big pile of money he should be able to find other things to use that are not property of someone else.” Doorman says he emailed Hope Hicks at the Trump campaign after the tweet went up. The tweet was removed shortly after.

I remember similar things being said about President Ronald Reagan.

Do you also remember that Reagan was actually the governor of a state for 8 years? And that he treated people with a level of dignity and respect that Trump is not capable of?

Reagan didn’t simply spew bile, hate and insults, followed by the same 5 slogans over and over. In fact, he never did things like that. He had the temperament of an adult human, not a fucking thin skinned spoiled child. And he actually was somewhat informed about pesky things like issues. Finally, Reagan believed in facts (at least when he wasn’t astrologizing). Trump creates his own “facts” on a daily basis.

An unfit con man, a reality show clown. If you’ve bought his act, you’re a dupe. And even dumber than your posts suggest.

In keeping with a thing I’ve said since I arrived at this board: all lot of these nutty, grievance-ridden people use “government” for “every institution and person that impedes what I want.” Which we should all be very attentive of, because it colors every damn statement they make about overthrowing, resisting, and retaliating against “government.”

Whether it’s alt-right or militias or wingnuts, the narcissism of the participants o’ertops any commonly-accepted understanding of veracity, consistency, and ethics.

I hope that’s the case. A lot of his supporters seem pretty screwed up, and probably view voting as supporting a corrupt system anyway, but if we wind up with a President Trump, these Brogressives will only be hurt financially. Minorities will be in much more danger.

Trump in 1994: ‘Putting a wife to work is a very dangerous thing’

Why I love Facebook. Earlier today. Friend posts bogus Obama stats from non existent site. Pro Trump shit site. I say something, because gee, that looks legit. Try to say maybe you should like uh, try and find the site you say is telling you this? It does not exist. Please. Do not buy a used car without taking someone with you with a working brain. Yeah. No response. Then all through the day, since I posted on it, responses come in. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t even follow this guy, although I do/have to/do business with him. I just look in now and then….My mistake. So this gem just came across…..In all it’s simplicity….Quote….”and this is just the surface. our grand kids will be nuked or fight and huge foreign war, most will have had their homes taken away, with low income, educated jobs. Foreign countries will own even more of our country. With his ego and his followers our country is bordering on chaos. As far as our border, this Mexican invasion currently going on will have Latinos demanding the country’s language be Spanish and laws favoring illegals. And there is so much more.”
Yeah. So much more. Wonder who he’s voting for? Schmucks.

Here’s hoping Speaker Ryan becomes ex-Speaker Ryan….

AS DONALD Trump was building a campaign on lies, bigotry, insults, fearmongering and unreason, a few Republican leaders of apparent principle offered some resistance. Foremost among them was House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.). In March, Mr. Ryan insisted that “all of us as leaders can hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity and decency” and that “we shouldn’t accept ugliness as the norm.”

On Thursday Mr. Ryan capitulated to ugliness. It was a sad day for the speaker, for his party and for all Americans who hoped that some Republican leaders would have the fortitude to put principle over partisanship, job security or the forlorn fantasy that Mr. Trump will advance a traditional GOP agenda.

Explaining his belated endorsement of Mr. Trump in a home-state newspaper, the speaker said that conversations with the presumptive Republican presidential nominee have reassured him. Mr. Trump will help turn House GOP ideas into law, Mr. Ryan said, in a way that a President Hillary Clinton would not.

I think her unwillingness to go after Sanders might have been interpreted by some as wishy-washy weakness (which isn’t a totally unreasonable read TBH). You don’t inspire new supporters by merely not attacking their current favorite.

When you have a loser like Paladino as a surrogate, it tells you all you need to know, even before he opens his mouth.

So Trump got silenced by Hillary. How’s he going to handle her, Bill, Obama, Warren, and Biden?

Randall’s is also decent to their workers from what I understand. My job here in Austin is in workers’ compensation law and we can’t help but take note of who treats their employees like trash. Unfortunately it is true that it is hard to find caring employers. For the record, HEB DOES NOT carry workers’ compensation insurance. Nor does Wal-Mart, though that should be no surprise.

Greets fellow Austin Lizard…

Charmed! I say I’m new here but then I realize it’s been more than two years. The time does fly!

My husband thinks the fascist is going to win. I told him no he fucking is NOT. Too many smart reasonable people will vote for Hill, not the fascist.

Please tell me I’m right. I do not want to live in a country with the fascist in control.

Yea it seems we’re well-represented. Makes it real easy to keep up with the local news and weather, at the very least :)

re: #172 Testy Toad T

I think her unwillingness to go after Sanders might have been interpreted by some as wishy-washy weakness (which isn’t a totally unreasonable read TBH). You don’t inspire new supporters by merely not attacking their current favorite.

The long game was probably the right call, but it made the short- and medium-term look a little scary.

Agreed! Just the way I was impatient for the Malheur miscreants to be rounded up, I was perhaps overly eager for Hillary to pounce. Patience is a virtue, I guess.

By waiting to attack Trump, Hillary did not do the dirty work for the GOP in their nomination process and now they have an awful candidate. Added bonus: Hillary can help down ticket races by reminding the voters of how many (and which) GOP congress-critters pledged support to Trump clearly putting party interests before national security.

A couple of days ago Sean Trende was fantasizing on RCP that Trump could win the election by taking 20% of the minority vote.
