Donald Trump Continues Racist Attacks on Judge Gonzalo Curiel

Poisonous rhetoric ongoing

Today Donald Trump is continuing his ugly racist attacks on the judge in the fraud lawsuits against his “Trump University” scam, saying Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who was born in Indiana, has “an absolute conflict” because of his “Mexican heritage.”

Donald Trump on Thursday escalated his attacks on the federal judge presiding over civil fraud lawsuits against Trump University, amid criticism from legal observers who say the presumptive GOP presidential  nominee’s comments are an unusual affront on an independent judiciary.

In an interview, Mr. Trump said U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel had “an absolute conflict” in presiding over the litigation given that he was “of Mexican heritage” and a member of a Latino lawyers’ association. Mr. Trump said the background of the judge, who was born in Indiana to Mexican immigrants, was relevant because of his campaign stance against illegal immigration and his pledge to seal the southern U.S. border. “I’m building a wall. It’s an inherent conflict of interest,” Mr. Trump said.

A thought about Clinton’s speech: She completely defined Trump, and defined him as a dangerous wacko with thin skin. All of his rambling from here on out will be framed by her definition, including any attempt to frame her.

Curiel is sane, he won’t understand the Trumpbabble.

Trumpy found out that Clinton isn’t the minor leagues i.e. Cruz, Kasich, and Rubio. Plus he’s dealing with an electorate who isn’t filled with people who go ga ga for bigotry.

So he admits that his policy is inherently racist against anyone of Mexican descent and not just about “illegals.” As if it weren’t already clear to anyone with a functioning brain.

Hillary has been dogged by “Emailgate” for months, yet at every step of the way she has gone out of her way to cooperate and has not suggested that those involved are in some way biased against her.

Meanwhile, you have Trump stamping his feet and accusing the judge in his fraud case of ruling against him simply because of the judge’s ethnicity.

But remember, they’re exactly the same, so sayeth the Bernie Bros.

17
Blind Frog Belly White  Jun 2, 2016 • 6:00:35pm

See, here’s where the lie gets exposed. For years, the Right has been trying to pretend that their objection to illegal immigration is not about the ethnicity of the immigrants, and that legal immigrants and citizens should be JUST FINE with the deportation plans, because after all, it’s all about upholding the law, not keeping Messicans out.

But if you say that an American Judge of Mexican descent should recuse himself because of your plan to deal with illegal immigration, you’ve made pretty damn clear what the actual reason for the plan is.

I took my wife to eat at a popular Greek restaurant in town. Sat us in a booth in direct view of an 85 inch TV with, you guessed it, FOX news. Arrgh. So here I am ordering and in the corner of my eye there is an ad on the TV for some kind of anal cream. Arrgh. I felt bad though, for the Hispanic family seated directly under the TV. Even though the sound was off, the chyrons were racist as fuck. Never again. Zeb’s across the street from now on.

So, considering that Trump claims the judges ‘heritage’ is an issue a a legal case. I would like to know Trump can even consider allowing his wife near the Whitehouse. After all, she was born in another country, not the US. She IS an immigrant, not by way of heritage. Where do her true allegiances lie?

Trump has always gone out of his way to be a POS

“…In response to Beattie’s legal claim, Trump’s lawyers argued that Beattie had been denied a job because he was “unavailable,” not because he was a reservist. They also claimed that Beattie’s attendance at the Army college was “voluntary,” and therefore not a real military “obligation.”

I’m not going to say that Putin hooked Trump up with Melania, but if Melania is a Russian spy that Putin introduced to Trump, that would be very bad.

But I don’t know anything about that so I’m not going to talk about the possibility of Melania being a Russian spy. I’ll let others talk about that, but it would be bad.

Yep. Say you like sports, and if a TV is on in front of you as you eat and it’s broadcasting FOX News, you go elsewhere. And so do your friends. Walk. If they say nothing, don’t go back. I’ve gotten people to change the channel. Said I didn’t need news with my meal. Turn it off, tune it to sports, or I go. Nothing personal. It’s my dinner. AND, your money.

I had to eat out a lot. Not in high class joints either. I would ask “is there a game on?” Or, “You know I really do not need news with my meal.” Most did as i asked, because i asked politely. A few said they could not change the channel, I asked for another seat, if no other was available, I said bye.

Stephen Hawking Angers Trump Supporters with Baffling Array of Long Words

“For a so-called genius, this was an epic fail,” Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, said. “If Professor Hawking wants to do some damage, maybe he should try talking in English next time.”

Later in the day, Hawking attempted to clarify his remark about the presumptive Republican Presidential nominee, telling a reporter, “Trump bad man. Real bad man.”

It’s unheard of, but that’s Trump for you. Engaging in racist claptrap to try and bully a judge into taking action favorable to Trump.

I hope it backfires in a big way.

Of course, Trump’s supporters love themselves some racist bs, so they’ll go along with this stuff even though none of it is actually true - starting with his heritage. He’s from Indiana, not Mexico.

Two years ago, I would have agreed, but now, nope. I just went and looked at the Army Corp of Engineers site for the Fort Worth Area showing how they maintain all of the lakes in the area. The two lakes in my area are Lavon and Ray Hubbard. Ray Hubbard is the main water lake for this area and feeds Dallas and cities west including Rockwall. Lavon feeds into Ray Hubbard when it starts to get low. Ray Hubbard has houses and businesses built next to it, so they can’t let the level get too high. We’ve gotten so much rain that this is our current status:

I bet 11,000 cfs out of the dam is really impressive.

When I can’t sleep I sometimes take half of a 3mg melatonin and have dreams about things like my pet longhorn steer who has trouble changing positions in bed because of how his horns get caught in the sheets. Tonight I said fuck it and took the whole pill. Probably some chase scenes and falling out of trees before the real stuff starts happening. It calms me down when I wake up and start thinking about campaign 2016.

Goodnight

This morning, around 4:30am, I had a dream where I was sitting in the parking lot with one of my children while my wife and another child went into a store. As I’m watching, a woman is standing on top of a shopping cart that is rolling through the lot. She falls off, and lands on the side of her head. She begins rolling through the lot, and I go over to stop her and try to call 911. She is all messed up. At that point, my brain gave up that it was a dream and told me to wake the fuck up.

What’s the over-under for The Donald™ refusing to debate Hillary Clinton outright during the general election?

He can’t, because he will be behind, and he’ll need the media to rave about how “presidential” he was. Which they will do as long as he doesn’t drop his pants to show off his manhood.

Huh, that’s kinda disgusting. The one place I can never seem to escape one of the two is at the cardiologist’s, and I’m now on my fourth one of those. But then again, one place you’re pretty sure to find an older crowd is in cardio, and if on top of that you’re in Louisiana, there’s not much hope the waiting room TV is gonna be running anything besides RW bilge.

One of the writers for Welcome to Night Vale and one of the voice actors are doing a side series called Alice isn’t Dead. The main character is a female truck driver. In the most recent episode, it does a great rip on Texas, my state:

The average flag size in Texas is so much bigger than anywhere else. Yeah, I know the usual joke, but…really, what is it about Texas that makes them want their flags so big? American flags the size of minivans, the size of small houses, waving from car dealerships and libraries.

There is something to be said, obviously, about insecurity. The wisdom is that the most performatively loud person at the party is the most insecure. And Texas is nothing if not performatively loud - their threats of secession, the bluster that permeates their politics, and of course, these huge flags.

And then you see the countryside of Texas, and…maybe you understand a bit. Because it is beautiful, sure, but a lot of it is empty. Empty in a way that feels heavy. Like the big cities in Texas are just fronts to hide that it’s mostly an empty state, with a population trying to be as loud as possible so no one will notice that all of them live tucked away in the east.

All hail West Texas, right?

I mean, most of this could be said about America as a whole, and probably should be, but I’m not in America right now. I’m in Texas.

Mr. Trump has said so many irresponsible or dangerous things so often and in so many settings that there is a real risk that many voters will simply tune out and his campaign will somehow be normalized.

So it is particularly important to note when Mr. Trump’s statements go beyond the merely provocative or absurd and instead represent a threat to America’s carefully balanced political system. This is such a moment. It is not too late for Republicans who revere that system to question how they can embrace a nominee who has so little regard for it.

Sadly, the GOP has sold their souls to the Prince of Lies to keep their precious majorities.

We are getting dumped on here in the DFW area. If you look at a radar, you’ll a cell producing counterclockwise rotation that is feeding off of the moisture coming in off of the Gulf.

It’s a weird, sticky rain too. I usually like walks in the rain but this stuff pelts down and coats you after a couple of minutes in a way that’s just uncomfortable and permeating. “Rain is rain”, you might think, but this rain is coming down different than the norm.

I was wondering about the rotation. It looks like a tropical storm on the radar, and this afternoon there were multiple vortices in the circulation, arrayed in an SW-NE arc across the eastern half of the state. Very strange.

This is the second May/June in a row we’re getting soaked for a week solid, after four or five years of 100+ for three months at a time in summer. Climate change, what me worry?

I believe everything he has done to date has been rational from his pov. He badly wants to win California, a very large, diverse state, and to do that he needs to maintain the fiction that he could actually win the nomination and he has to create daylight between him and Hillary by criticizing her. After next Tuesday, the way for him to rationally maximize his influence is to cut a deal with Clinton and to be part of a team that wins the White House and regains control of the Senate, which would land him a committee chairmanship. If Trump is President and the GOP controls the Senate, he’s a nobody with no power or influence. Just watch, I bet Bernie will prove to be a rational actor.

Fuck this place anyway… Hopefully I’m on my last couple of months living here. I’m packing my shit now and applying for jobs out east this week and as soon as something shakes loose I’m on the first U-Haul out of this fuckhole.

My middle kid has two years of high school left, and then we’re thinking of moving.

Just watch, I bet Bernie will prove to be a rational actor.

I don’t see that happening. Bernie is a ratfucker through and through.

It’s honestly sad. He was someone I liked from afar before this campaign. Needless to say I’ve had a change of heart.

He’s become the political version of that person that looks really hot from across the room, but when you hook up with them, you realize that the level of crazy is WAY in excess of the initial hotness factor.

I don’t know if this was shared recently, but here’s the latest Bernie Sanders interview with Rolling Stones: rollingstone.com

I didn’t read it completely, but several things stood out as sore thumbs:

1. BS is playing naive when he says his victory will guarantee a Democratic majority in the Congress and he will be able to figure out everything he wants.

2. He’s also too naive to think that he has a chance in California and New Jersey.

3. BS is still butt hurt about losing to a fair game.

3.2. He wants to change to open primaries. Ya know, there’s this little thing called General Elections that’s open to everyone. Geez.

4. The whole angry swatting incident is there.

Bernie is Bern out. Earlier in the campaign, I would have considered him seriously. But as it stands today, he’s an asshole almost indistinguishable from generic Republican assholes.

We discussd it yesterday. I found it pretty sad that he’s literally described as swatting down an answer. Can’t imagine the kind of derision Clinton would get if she did that to a publication especially one friendly to her.

Or Obama in 2008. He would have been called uppity for it.

re: #33 whitebeach

Don’t just stay away. Let them know why.

There is a Chinese restaurant my wife and I frequent. The first time we went in, they were playing FOX News Channel. We immediately got up to leave; the management asked why (trying to save a sale), and we told them we found FOX offensive.

The restaurant turned FOX off (I think they went to the Cartoon Network). We stayed. Every time we have been back, no FOX. They do not seem to play it any more. For that (and the fact their food is good) they get our business when we are in town.
