Rubio Wants Credit for “Warning” Us About Trump, but Still Supports Him

Republican bravery
Politics • Views: 42,500

Marco Rubio is telling Republicans about Donald Trump, “I warned you.”

“I don’t defend what he says, and all I can tell you is I ran for president and I warned you this is what was going to happen,” Rubio told WFTV’s Christopher Heath. “I consistently said if he became the nominee, we’d face these sorts of difficult choices we now have.”

Of course, this doesn’t mean Rubio isn’t going to support Trump for president or anything drastic like that. He wants credit for “warning” us about Trump, but meanwhile he’s completely OK with putting this noxious egomaniacal know-nothing bigot in the White House.

Funny, the choice wasn’t so difficult for those of us who care about this country and the people who live here. In fact, it’s been obvious for over a year now. But no one ever accused Marco of caring about anything but his own ambition.

Went to see a stage version of The Possessed by Dostoevsky. One of the protagonists is a fellow who says he cannot actively support the radicals and anarchists trying to depose the Czar, but understands and sympathizes with their cause.

The same mind-set with the GOP and DT…

One upside to this latest Trump situation: it is a bit easier to separate the cowards and political opportunists from the true shitheels in the GOP ranks…like this guy:

On the other hand, since the GOP absorbed the Dixiecrats into their party, that might be too much for them. I have to give credit to my senator … especially if he continues to hold out right through the election.

Shelby is a wingnut. When I was stationed at NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach, there was such a field some ten miles to the south (NALF Fentress). It had a tower and a runway with a carrier deck and arresting gear (for practice landings). That was it.

What would they do, stuff the tower with people?

Fentress doesn’t even have a fence around it. It gets its utilities from the city.

I am unfamiliar with other aux landing fields but I assume they are similar.

Photos of Alabama’s fields show they also have nothing:

@kasie
Bernie Sanders was scheduled to take a call from the White House on Sunday as he sprinted through California
@Kasie
The day was outwardly cheerful: Mobbed by fans on the Santa Monica pier, Sanders rode the carousel there with his grandchildren
@kasie
But whatever message President Obama delivered, it wasn’t cheerful for the Sanders campaign: The mood soured, and he huddled with wife Jane
@kasie
The motorcade had to be pulled to the side of the road in California for Sanders to take the call
@kasie
Sanders’ actions after Tuesday are still unknown. But it’s clear: Sunday was a turning point, in part because of Obama

Nah, they’re on private land, but I’m hoping there weren’t that many people who cared enough to go out and get a sign and put it up. These aren’t yard signs that you just stick in the ground, they are mounted on wooden frames and posts so there is some work involved in getting them put up.

This isn’t helpful. The last thing Clinton needs is for tomorrow’s GOTV to be depressed even the slightest. I’m phone banking tonight.

Irritated.

Eastern Washington is really a part of Idaho. Fortunately, they’re only 20% of the population.

There’s a lot of cool stuff here that no one seems to make any coherent effort to publicize. Tourism seems to be all about boating, fishing, and hunting. There’s also fabulous scenery, interesting plants, cool birds, etc., but it’s hard to find info on that in one place. Eastern WA is the red headed stepchild of the state, which probably annoys the hell out of the 20% of the population that lives here.

Ah listening to MSNBC—AP has just declared that Hillary now has the number of delegates she needs to be nominated…

I admire the Sanders’ supporters’ “It ain’t over ‘til it’s over attitude” as long as they refrain from attacking Hillary and the party.

It won’t stop me from voting for Hillary after I finish with the Dr tomorrow.

I realize it might have an equally depressing effect on Sanders voters, still sucks. Democracy should have a chance to play out.

Less likely, with their “SDs don’t count” tropes they might be taking it more seriously…

They have no source for this other than “unnamed party insiders.” I am always suspicious of unsourced news articles (they can ofttimes be plants by someone with an agenda).

That said, I have no doubt Mrs. Clinton, if she does not already have the delegates necessary soon will.

Sorry—I meant politically, it’s like a lot of states. California has its bright-red areas, too—we just have a mountain range separating us.

In the old days, a lot of great public servants came from Eastern Washington. Mike Lowry leaps to mind.

People should start tweeting him as Fat Donald. That will get under his skin in no time. He certianly isn’t svelte, for sure. Hell, The Big Dog probably has a better BMI than The Donald does by a country mile.

How about Little Fat Boy Donnie? In Spanish, Google tells me that would be Grasas poco Donnie, or GP Donnie. 😂

Back from board meeting: We didn’t have a notary public at the meeting tonight, so although we now have a full village board, we could not do the village board re-organisation. Vice-mayor position comes up for a vote next month.

My wingnut sister once invited me to a Tea Party gathering the same week my 6-year-old niece invited me and my teddy bear to a Tea Party, and my book club had an Alice-themed Tea Party. Oddly, the only thing these three tea parties had in common was me.

Also, in some Spanish-speaking communities a tortilla is a flat fried corn thing, in other Spanish-speaking communities it’s a fluffy egg&potato shuffle. Jesse Owens’ race might be African-American, or it might be 400 meters.

Words are funny that way.
