Donald Trump Shows His “New Tone” by Saying Hillary Clinton Is Raising “Blood Money”

Nice to see him getting less unhinged
Politics • Views: 40,912

Video

Donald Trump continues his “pivot” toward a more reasonable, presidential tone by saying the money raised by the Hillary Clinton campaign ($42 million vs. Trump’s $1.3 million) is “blood money.”

Asked how he can run a campaign without adequate fundraising, Trump said he’s not concerned with raising money.

“I don’t want to devote the rest of my life to raising money from people,” he told O’Donnell. “All of the money [Clinton] is raising is blood money.”

I’m sure they were worried about his penchant for insane rhetoric, but this new, less deranged Donald Trump has to be setting the Republican Party establishment’s minds at ease.

(Do I need a sarcasm warning on that?)

This could actually work, if Trumpy Dumpy could stick to any single line of attack for more than five minutes; he’s closing the gap between himself and the BernieBros.

That does seem to be his goal, to convince the Bros that he’s the guy they want to support since Bernie’s on his way out.

From the degenerates at caucus99berniebros:

I’m begging you to watch this video.

There are too many here perpetuating the untruth that Bernie has lost. It isn’t so.
THe democratic party has stolen the primary from the man we wanted, the man who won.
This is far from a long shot for Bernie.

Please watch this video. I have work to do, but I wanted to get this here for us all. I can’t wait to talk about this with anyone interested, but I will not be convinced that this is over. Please join me.

Fortunately I see no risk of Trump pretending to be civilized for the remainder of the election season.

This is a man who has lived his entire life as an asshole with his wealth as insulation from the normal consequences of being an asshole.

He won the Republican primary by being an asshole, and will not change this winning strategy.

From yet another degenerate there:

The following video by TYT Politics, “UNCOUNTED: The True Story of the California Primary” is by far the most damning evidence that the California primary was rigged to favor Clinton over Sanders. “Blood money”? Why not? He uses every other phrase in the Bigot’s Handbook.

(Hillary is collecting the thirty pieces of silver, I guess.)

And I guess this would be the accusation hurled because the Clinton Foundation accepts money from Saudi princes for charities, and the Secretary of State would have a voice in whether the country of Saudi Arabia gets jet fighters, etc.

Different modes of failure. DNF kept the joke running for 15 ridiculous years. Daikatana, while it underwent protracted development, was at least delivered in a respectable timeframe (compared to the current timeframe for new video game development), it just completely failed to deliver on its promises.

“…To my ears, one of the most important themes in Trump’s answers was his reference to the hostility toward Christianity, alive in the culture but fostered by politicians like Hillary Clinton. He wants an America where it’s acceptable once again to say, “Merry Christmas,” and football coaches can say prayers with their teams before games.”

It’ll be acceptable in December, Ralph.

Story update.

Official: 3 found with weapons cache wanted to ‘rescue’ girl

Port Authority Supervisor Michael Fedorko said officers also found a large amount of ammunition, a military-grade helmet and night-vision goggles. A bag with the words “Firearms Instructor” and box with the phrase “Shoot Your Local Heroin Dealer” were also in the vehicle, he said.

The brightly colored Dodge van carried the name of a Pennsylvania gun range. The gun shop is registered to the same Zionsville address listed as Cramsey’s address, according to records. Attempts to reach the business Tuesday were unsuccessful.

The Port Authority said there was no link to terrorism.

Well that’s a relief.

They are at best aggressive sectarians who want politics to enforce their practices as “sincere” religion, while dismissing the beliefs of others—such as LGBT-friendly churches, non-Christians, and non-believers—as not having sincerity. At the same time, the internal practices of these churches bend towards the powerful: someone useful, someone who has authority, can be forgiven anything and can be shielded from criticism. The meaning of the Bible is held by interpreters, who coincidentally find gnostic truths about how Jesus would approve of the American conservative status quo as holy. Everyone else cannot be forgiven. And the calls on how to apply their sacred morality are made in back rooms by a small number of people with financial stakes.

So zero shock that they would come around to Trump. Since “faith” is simply a supernatural mechanism by which they get what they want and deserve what they have—and are entitled to take everything from anyone not in their fold—someone like Donald Trump can be a divine agent.

I don’t see why — Sanders is IMO rather less progressive than Clinton.

If you look at the world through an identical lens as you used forty years ago, in spite of the world having changed so much, you’re not making much progress as far as I’m concerned. A progressive focuses on making tomorrow a better world, even if it comes in leaps or in steps. They don’t obsess about the past and pledge retribution for the past. Constantly talking about an economic meltdown that has passed and berating the current administration for not hanging bankers from lampposts is not progressive.

Why isn’t this organization rated?
We had previously evaluated this organization, but have since determined that this charity’s atypical business model can not be accurately captured in our current rating methodology. Our removal of The Clinton Foundation from our site is neither a condemnation nor an endorsement of this charity. We reserve the right to reinstate a rating for The Clinton Foundation as soon as we identify a rating methodology that appropriately captures its business model.

What does it mean that this organization isn’t rated?

It simply means that the organization doesn’t meet our criteria. A lack of a rating does not indicate a positive or negative assessment by Charity Navigator.

This business of a post industrial economy being a good thing for American workers isn’t clear at all.

What I see happening is development of a chronic over-supply of labor as jobs get outsourced or otherwise eliminated. Hardly good news for workers, especially when the most obvious reforms (e.g., shorter work week) are politically DOA.

That’s fair. The one disappointment with the post-industrial economy is that American workers no longer see the value of organization. Donald Trump’s campaign has renewed his support for the United Kingdom leaving the European Union, stating “America is here because of its own little Brexit”.

Spokeswoman Katrina Pierson, a longtime Trump aide, did not specify whether she was referring to the American revolution or whether she saw a modern parallel between the US political situation and the European Union, where the issue of immigration has become a political lightning rod.

Seems a lot of the same right wing mindsets that we see now were around then- YOU CAN’T GIVE PEOPLE GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE BECAUSE IT MAKES THEM TOO DEPENDENT ON GOVERNMENT. Nevermind that people were starving in a country that never really wanted to be part of the UK. And they also did the very modern Fundie thing of saying that they deserved their hardship. Not saying Irish Catholics were perfect, there was damning to hell of Catholics who accepted food and help from Protestants but the Potato famine really is a dark chapter. It is what brought some of my family to this country and in a way it helps shape my views on government.

The only major instance I can think of in US history where we really did need to undo an attempted reform was the repeal of prohibition.

And people needed to change their minds to do it. Prohibition and its repeal were close enough to each other in time that had the original supporters of prohibition maintained that position, repeal would not have occurred as quickly as it did.

I had forgotten that USN&WR was reborn… but coming across this reminds me why I ignore it:

Headline screams:

Genes Can Have Up to 80 Percent Influence on Students’ Academic Performance

Seems big, no?

The authors reference this paper:

Why Do Children Differ in Their Development of Reading and Related Skills?

Oh… wait… the USN authors are the same authors as the paper. No journalist involved.

Oh… look… the paper is from 2013.

And the USN article is really a republishing of what originally showed up in The Conversation.

Now, the authors try to go out of their way to say that genes are not destiny.

But then spend most of article trying to convince us that yes, genes are destiny.

The owners of USN are just recycling stories that have clickbait headlines.

They also reference this paper:

Which has this interesting paragraph:

Differences between families could be due to nature or nurture,
but the present results indicate that familial resemblance for
educational achievement is primarily due to nature rather than
nurture. Paradoxically, individual differences in educational
achievement may be highly heritable precisely because these
subjects are taught at school. To the extent that children receive the same education, which is the goal of a one-size-fits-all national curriculum, this potential source of environmental differences between children’s educational achievement is attenuated. As a result, the individual differences that remain will be due to genetic differences to a greater extent. This line of thinking leads to what may be an uncomfortable realisation: success in achieving widely accepted educational goals such as educational equity, social mobility, and personalised learning will all increase heritability. Indeed, heritability could be viewed as an index of equity in educational opportunities.

The problem I have with that is what is not discussed - that there are plenty of studies that show that social status impacts educational achievement.

And one’s own social status is strongly influenced by luck - literally, it matters into which family you are born.

This all seems somewhat like one large chicken-and-egg-esque exercise by certain social scientists.

These papers make an attempt to move the onus off of educators for student performance. I wonder if this is backlash after all the years of politically motivated testing requirements?

As CBS2’s Hazel Sanchez reported, John Cramsey, 50, and Dean Smith, 53, both of Zionsville, Pennsylvania, and Kimberly Arendt, 29, of Lehighton, each face several weapons charges. They were arrested as they passed through the tunnel around 7:40 a.m.

Someone needs to ask Trump why he keeps doing business with the same oppressive regimes like opening up golf courses in the Gulf, and why one of his top advisors has a long history of working with oppressive dictators?

“Speaking fees” should more accurately be called “listening fees”. I doubt Goldman Sachs gives a shit what Clinton has to say. On the other hand, I’ll bet they had a thing or two to tell her since they paid for her trip to town.

You literally have no idea what you are talking about.

You presented so much evidence for your argument, I don’t know what to say in response. How can I argue with I doubt or I’ll bet?

The speaking circuit is well known for colleges, groups, companies and the like to hear an important person speak, that is it. Go write anti-Clinton fan fiction on reddit they love you people there.

re: #239 HappyWarrior

What I love is when white conservatives shame present civil rights activists by saying MLK wouldn’t approve of their actions. Really because white conservatives were so pro-MLK in his own time. You saw that shit when Mandela died too. The right totally ignoring that the Reagan administration was fine with Apartheid and Mandela staying imprisoned.

God they;re ignorant. They said that Rosa Parks would be ashamed of BLM activists.

Maybe…..maybe the Black Power activist that Ms. Parks was would have been ashamed of them being TOO TIMID.
