I understand why a lot of folks use Twitter. And Charles has a number of legitimate reasons to use it. But if you post anything political it’s basically an invitation to be harassed by random assholes, an aggravation that I personally don’t need.
Speaking for myself, I prefer to keep a low profile on the internet, so don’t use any social media. I debated with myself for quite a while about registering at LGF and making the occasional comment, but the attraction of a thoughtful, diverse community overcame my reluctance.
I applaud Charles and others who fight the good fight and try to get Twitter to clean up their act. But the anonymity encourages folks to let their asshole flag fly and I’m not sure how Twitter can respond to that. I also suspect it will eventually be their downfall, as folks abandon the platform due to the harassment and filth that goes unchecked.
One reason I find this blog appealing is that it keeps me informed about what is happening without having to dive into the cesspool of RWNJ blogs, tweets and talking points. Hail to the watchers on the wall.

Monday, June 27, the Republican National Committee said Trump would be holding a campaign fundraiser in Cincinnati Wednesday, July 6. The location was undisclosed but the event will be sponsored by the RNC.

Texas Republicans are working on a way to make the HB-2 anti-abortion bill acceptable to the Supreme Court by writing a provision to a similar law that would allow “non-compliant” abortion clinics to seek a waver from the state Department of Health.
