Deal Alert: Amazon Prime Day!

Great Deals • Views: 60,541

There’s some excellent stuff on sale today at Amazon, for their Prime Day special event — great deals on 4K monitors, camera gear, GoPro items, flash drives, Kindles, and lots more. This year the offerings look quite a bit better than last year’s debut of Prime Day — check it out!

And if you click through from one of our links, LGF gets a small commission on anything you buy, including sign-ups for Amazon Prime free trials. This is a great way to treat yourself (or someone else!) to a gift, and help support Little Green Footballs at the same time.

Bernie Sanders Endorsed Bernie Or Bust and Dr. Jill Stein, not Clinton. … t.co via @YouTube
— H. A. Goodman

So when Sanders said “I endorse Hillary Clinton for President” he actually meant “I endorse Bernie or Bust and Jill Stein for President”?

Did Goodman fall on his head when he was a kid?

There is a whole lot of chatting here in this part of Canada about the US elections - primarily how could so many people be so crazy to support Mr. Trump? (I have been getting quite a bit of political opinions because of the Sanders sticker on my car. I have not yet received my Clinton sticker in the mail so I have yet to replace it.)

A number of people here don’t see a real difference in the substance of Mrs. Clinton’s and Mr. Sanders’s messages, only in the style of delivery.

One here said if Trump wins “we’ll have to build that wall.” I asked if I could stay on this side of it.

He’s had time off to at least be less of a dick about things and gain some perspective, one hopes at least. Of course he’s most likely never going to admit he’s wrong, but maybe he (and a speechwriter perhaps) had time to sit down and think about what he could say today that would help, not harm. So there’s that at least. Can’t forgive what happened to this country under his watch, but any bit of redemption, no matter how small, is helpful.

UK level politics is becoming like something out of The Onion.

Political party executive rules currently sitting party leader contesting a leadership bid must be on leadership ballot.

The Labour party elite clearly want Jeremy Corbyn out, but the membership, who have the most say in the leadership vote, support him. (Indeed, there’s been a surge in a membership recently from people who would support him.) I can see Labour splitting over this, with the elites splitting off their own party, similar to the SDP in the 1980s.

Literally, the first person to speak, Megyn had to refute it with the Fox Narrative. Then, another person spoke, and again, she interrupted them. Then all there was after that was yelling.

It wasn’t about having a conversation, it was about putting black people against white people while she interrupted them with her narrative. I was almost yelling at the TV, “JUST LISTEN TO WHAT THEY’RE SAYING.” I was so upset, I turned it off. What a load of bullshit that helps do nothing but widen the divide.

And that’ll be the line that right wingers attack Obama over from now til end of time. Because it isn’t entirely true.

For some, it’s a lot easier. And some will turn to guns far easier than they would to computers or books.

But for most, it’s still easier to get a computer or a book.

Oh, no, my mom wants to upgrade her phone and wanted me to look to see if they had any deals. AT&T used to offer older generation phones for $0 and a 2-year contract extension but has since stopped. They’re offering a Samsung Galaxy S5 for $519 or an equivalent amount of money over 30-months.

You can get an AT&T spec Galaxy S5 for $247 at Amazon.

I’ll be honest…

Before the POTUS came on to speak, I was having serious reservations about the entire service. I mean, where the fuck was the public service attended by politicians for Tamir Rice or John Crawford? Fer Chissakes, neither of them nor their families have gotten a damned apology for being murdered by men in uniforms! Are acknowledgments only for people who wear a uniform while when the less deserving pubic gets gunned down on “accident” by police…well, too bad for you?

The two black men gunned down last week needed to be acknowledged and remembered. I was deeply angry that they were not, and then the POTUS said what needed to be said. God bless him for that.

That seems to be today’s theme… people not listening/comprehending what is being stated for all the world to hear/see.

We see it with the meltdown by the usual suspects over President Obama’s statements today in Dallas, even though they mirrored those by President Bush.

We see it with the Busters who are bitter over Bernie endorsing Hillary (at last, but hey, better late than not), who think that Bernie doesn’t realize the kind of damage that Trump would do, and that Hillary would be a fine president including judicial nominees and issues that are important to progressives.

Gingrich doesn’t seem like a “winning” type. He might bring some cons around, but his conservatism will also further push away the middle.

He also nullifies all of Trump’s (admittedly weak) attacks on Bill Clinton’s philandering, since Gingrich was secretly cheating on his wife the entire time he was leading the impeachment of Clinton for cheating. Strategically he’s probably the worst pick Trump could make, I’m guessing literally nobody else (except totally unacceptable lunatics like Palin) wanted the job.

Duke compared himself to Donald Trump, who he endorsed for president.
“I’ve said everything that Donald Trump is saying and more,” he said. “I think Trump is riding a wave of anti-establishment feeling that I’ve been nurturing for 25 years.”
On the same day that Newt Gingrich rose in Trump’s veepstakes, Duke blasted the former speaker of the House as a “total sellout cuck.” Duke was angry that Gingrich recently said white people don’t understand what it’s like for blacks who routinely face discrimination.
“I would be a better pick,” Duke said. “I had a perfect Republican voting record. If he had me as a VP he would have a life insurance policy. But again, I don’t see him doing that. That’s just a fantasy.”

Hey, look who else uses that stupid term!

re: #312 blueraven

Did y’all notice that since the perp was white, not much news about the bailiff killing prisoner in MI?

But, of course, Reuters had to include this graph in their story:

The shootings of the bailiffs and the deputy came four days after four Dallas police officers and a Dallas transit police officer were killed by a sniper who claimed to be motivated by the use of lethal force by police against African-Americans.

and DIDN’T include this bit of info:

Gordon, from Coloma, was in custody on several felony charges. According to our sister station WOOD-TV: Gordon was in jail on two counts of criminal sexual conduct, Michigan State Police records show. He was also facing charges of kidnapping, assault with a dangerous weapon, and domestic violence.

wndu.com

And then there was this account
woodtv.com

that included such sweet nothings as:

Jessica Gordon told 24 Hour News 8 that her ex-husband was still her best friend…He loved his children and me and his mother and sister with everything that he had,”“All he wanted to do was get home to our baby girl” alongside a photo of the loving husband and father with his wife and child.

Yeah—that’s just how they would have portrayed him if he had been black, right?

re: #359 De Kolta Chair

David Duke represents white Southern men keeping a boot on black necks forever.

Adams (from an Irish perspective) is what happens when the guy with a boot on his neck grabs a gun and fights back. He has more in common with Huey Newton than David Duke. It’s why you see African American civil rights activists greeted so warmly by Irish Catholic audiences.

In any event, you certainly don’t have to agree with him (and I don’t) to understand how Bloody Sunday, where 14 unarmed Catholics demonstrating against extra judicial internment were massacred by British soldiers (some were actually run over by army vehicles), creates plenty of incentive to put away ballots and start using bullets. That was just one incident out of many.
I actually had a conversation with a lovely seventy-ish Irish Catholic woman in Savannah, Georgia who had grown up in Northern Ireland. She had been banned from the public schools for being Catholic. Only Protestant children were allowed in public schools when she grew up.

Often the colors are due to erm, acts of congress. They attach a dye block to the chest of the ram, and it marks the ewe so the farmer knows which sheep have been given special cuddles by which ram.

Please don’t ask how I know this.
