Even if that “argument” had one iota of truth, it raises a rather obvious question:

Why was the GOP base dumb enough to fall for it?

It takes big brass ones to claim the Democrats created Trump.

No. The reason that the GOP ended up with Satan’s Anus as their nominee is because that is what GOP voters in primaries preferred.

Trump definitely does more than pay lip service to the radical/reactionary wing of the GOP. Bush, McCain, and Romney would kind of, sort of hint at things to placate that part of the GOP, but Trump just goes full bore. He is much closer to a lot of the House and/or Senate nominees the GOP has had in the last couple of cycles.

But if we’re going to play the chicken and egg game, I think it’s fair to point out that the Sharon Angle, Christine O’Donnell, Joni Ernst, Ken Cuccinelli, Ted Cruz types started actually getting nominated (rather than running as Gary Baueresque agitators) after Obama won in 2008. These are the people that GOP voters chose to represent them, plain and simple.

Charles P. Pierce has a way with words, part the infinity:
Modern conservatism has proven to be not a philosophy, but a huge dose of badly manufactured absinthe. It squats in an intellectual hovel now, waiting for its next fix, while a public madman filches its tattered banner and runs around wiping his ass with it. It always was coming to this.
and from yesterday:
He was off again in his usual style, speaking to his audience in fluent confetti, ideas half-formed fluttering in the air and landing like blessings on the people who had come to hear him

Meth is a thing everywhere.

I live in a fairly upscale part of metro Atlanta. When we first bought our house 19 yrs ago, the house next door to us belonged to an older couple who let their adult daughter and little grandson move in. The older couple had kept the place as a rental when they downsized.

We moved in during the summer and I was so busy with a then 3 yr old and unpacking and settling in that I didn’t pay much attention to what was going on. A few months later, when it got cold out, I saw the little boy outside (he was probably 7 or 8) in nothing but his pajamas with a BEER. I called the cops. The next morning I heard water running, they had hooked up a hose to our house and an extension cord to our outside outlet. After that things unwound really fast. The DEA came to our house and asked a bunch of questions, Children’s Services showed up and asked if I would testify to neglect if I was needed, the cops showed up and it turned out there was a sizable amount of meth in the house along with other drugs. Hazmat people showed up because there was not only meth crap everywhere, but the two car garage was packed floor to ceiling with trash, (this explained the rats in our pool). There was a dog that was chained outside, I don’t think it ever got fed or watered until we snuck over there and took care of it. So yeah, this shit can happen anywhere. Just like heroin used to only be a problem in “other places”, it’s also a suburban problem. Drugs of all kinds effect every level of wealth and race now.

True that. Heroin unfortunately seems to have made a comebsck.

Yep. The heroin thing has taken more than a few young people in this area. So much so that the cops and firefighters, along with all the ambulances carry Narcan. Some of the high schools and middle schools were also talking about keeping it on hand. Lots of money here, so of course something is being done. Which is good I guess, but it took well off white kids dying before anyone took it seriously.

It’s no wonder Trump picked him for his campaign, since like minded folks tend to stick together. He’s just as pugnacious and bigoted as Trump.

The problem we’re having here, as well as in other parts of the country, is that the heroin is being cut with fentynal (sp?) which is the same crap that killed Michael Jackson and Prince. Other stuff is used too, but when you put two powerful drugs like that together, people are going to die.

While I think he does need to go to prison for a reasonably amount of time, having 21 counts of crime for a single incident is not representative of a health justice system.

It’s pretty clearly designed to try to get him to take a plea bargain to avoid going to the full trial.

Deputies: Man arrested for having sex with goat

PAUDLING COUNTY, Ga. - A man was arrested Friday for having inappropriate relations with a goat on Friday, according to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office.

Freddie Wadsworth, of Douglasville, was charged with bestiality. Deputies said they responded to a report of an indecent exposure along Peggy Meadows Way. Neighbors told deputies they saw a man performing a sexual act with a goat.

The human perp, Freddie Wadsworth. No photos of the goat have been released.
