Trump’s Mind Is Going: “I Don’t Throw Babies Out, Buhlieve Me”

In which Trump lies about ordering a baby thrown out of a rally
Politics • Views: 48,085

YouTube

Here’s Donald Trump in Des Moines, Iowa, ranting about that wonderful moment three days ago when he threw a baby out of his Virginia rally and publicly shamed the mother.

This was a beautiful baby and a beautiful mother, and the baby was crying and I jokingly said, “You know what, that’s OK, let the baby cry, we love babies,” you know something to that effect, “we love babies.”

Then about two minutes later it didn’t stop, it just went on. And I’m trying to speak in front of thousands, we have thousands of people in the room. And I said, “All right,” I actually said the first time, “All right, keep the baby here don’t worry about it.”

Then after about two minutes I said, “You know what? I’m gonna counteract my order. Beautiful baby… IIFFF you take her outside that’s not so bad.”

That was it! The whole place laughed, we had a good time. The press came out with headlines, “Trump throws baby out of arena.”

So dishonest, I mean these are dishonest people. I could go, I could give you 20 stories like that.

But think of it, everyone’s having fun, we’re smiling, I’m waving. Everyone’s having fun. But, they say “Trump throws baby.”

You know how, how terrible that is? Such a lie. And they KNOW it’s a lie.

I’ve heard so much about that beautiful baby, beautiful parents. So much. I don’t throw babies out, buhlieve me. I love babies. I love my children, I love babies, I don’t throw babies out, buhlieve me.

It isn’t in this clip, but Trump also said the baby was crying “incredibly loud… this baby could have been Pavarotti.”

But let’s do a little fact-checking on his self-serving statement, shall we? He claims all he said was, “You know what? I’m gonna counteract my order. Beautiful baby… IIFFF you take her outside that’s not so bad.”

Is that true? Well, unfortunately for Donald, we have video of that incident — and here’s what he really said:

Actually, I was only kidding, you can get the baby out of here. I think she really believed me that I love having a baby crying while I’m speaking

YouTube

This is the Republican Party’s candidate for president of the United States, folks. He lies about what he just said three days ago, even when he knows it was all recorded.

CNN is going to show the rally in Greenbay live.

He must be exhausted.

Who needs a circular firing squad. Just put each of Trump’s statements made on a subject in a room and watch ‘em argue with each other.

It’d be a total bloodbath.

And so the confused secret service agents begin to escort Trump out…

To his low-life grifter-loving supporters, this kind of blatant lying is something to admire rather than condemn. They are awestruck by his audacity and their adulation climbs to unheard of heights. Trump is an opportunist who has tapped into, and mobilized, an evil strain in American society.

Charles, he never threw the baby out. Several reporters have confirmed that. (I know what he said on stage /realize the optics of it) Katy Tur actually tossed out several tweets at the time about the baby that you can find in her timeline.

Also, the parents of the baby have been on TV and also denied having been thrown out.

I still think Trump’s a fucking mess headcase, of course - but he never had the baby / parents tossed out of the rally.

And today, he justified the booting of loud babies. Trump should add “Borscht-Belt Comedy” to the list of things he should never do. It fits right under “Be President”.

The fact is, Trump ordered that baby thrown out. The parents are Trump fans, so of course they’re going to try to claim it was all made up by the dishonest media.

But he ordered the baby thrown out. It’s right there in the video.

Nope, that happened - 100%.. all I’m clarifying is that no one actually threw the parents / baby out - and it was viewed as a ‘joking’ sort of moment during the rally by those in attendance / the press, that’s all.

Sorry, I’m long past the point where I give Donald Trump the benefit of the doubt. He actually said at the time that he was joking when he said the baby could stay! And made fun of the mother for thinking he was serious.

The fact that the audience laughed at this gross display of egomania makes it worse, not better.

This was at the end of the last thread, but I wanted to share it here, because this promises to be good entertainment. International politics is fun for me to look at. :D

I noticed this headline, and subheadline, on Wikipedia:

A Pakistani Mi-17 transport helicopter belonging to the Punjab government on route to Russia for repair, crashed on Thursday night in Logar Province, Afghanistan. The six people on board have been taken hostage by the Taliban. (The Express Tribune) (Pakistan Today)

Army Chief General Raheel Sharif had called the U.S. Military Commander in Afghanistan, General John Nicolson, and asked him to help recover the crew. The Afghan government and Afghan Army have also been contacted for recovery of helicopter and crew.(Dunya News)

This should be good. You see, the Taliban was heavily supported by Pakistan, as a means to make sure they had a friendly nation on their borders, and also to keep them weak so Afghanistan couldn’t really push the Durand Line issue. In addition, the Taliban would have loot copper and many other things, and sent them to Pakistan for cash.

So, Afghanistan is miffed at Pakistan, very reasonably. I do know Afghanistan will get the people and the helicopter back. But I wonder if Afghanistan is going to make Pakistan humble in private or in public.

Well, to be fair, he didn’t start talking about how in the good old days that baby woulda been carried out on a stretcher. So, there’s that.

27

Is there any indication the mother and the baby did leave the rally? That would be the knockout punch if it could be confirmed.

Just what we don’t need is a guy that no one knows if he’s kidding or not. Seeing that Trump appears to have no sense of humor, I believe he meant it. Maybe his handlers in the audience realized what bad optics it would be to throw out a mother and child and told the guards to ignore him.

If someone can confirm she was removed, I’d love to see it - because I’ve seen several reporters (admittedly, only on Twitter) say that the mother / baby weren’t removed. I’ve read a statement supposedly from the mother (but there’s no way to know for sure - and if it IS her, she’s a Trump supporter.. so there’s some bias potential there) that states she got up and temporarily left voluntarily to tend to the child when the kid was crying but she was never thrown out, loves Trump, etc, etc.

Policy wise you are right. But many Catholics don’t follow.

Don’t ask me why I know.

We sort have had this conversation before. Catholics in general are very lax at actually following church dictates. Just one of the reasons I dropped away. I learned it really didn’t matter as long as the basket for “collections” was filled and the bills were paid.

If it was run by the nuns, I bet some of that would change.

In an interview with Larry King Live in 2005 Melania Trump said that she had never been married before meeting Donald Trump.

But, Michael Wildes, an immigration attorney who worked for the Trump Organization, told Univision’s investigative unit that she obtained a green card four years earlier in 2001, “based on marriage.”

Melania and Donald Trump were not married until Jan. 22, 2005 at Bethesda-by-the Sea Episcopal Church in Palm Beach, Florida.

When asked to explain the marriage discrepancy, Wildes said he would seek clarification, presumably from the Trump Organization. He later sent an email saying “I didn’t hear back, sorry.”

A final detail has emerged about the last minutes of Jason Josaphat’s life — a final act of courage, as told by a young woman hiding with him in a bathroom stall of the Pulse nightclub in Orlando.

Josaphat, she said, shielded her body with his own as the gunman fired.

Patience Carter said Josaphat, 19, of Mesa, died after saving her life. He was slain by one of the final shots of Omar Mateen, who killed 49 people and injured 50 others in a shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando in June.

One of the many benefits of residing outside the US is that you actually get to watch the Olympics as a sporting (or in the case of the opening, cultural) event instead of as a heavily produced TV show where the commentators assume the viewing audience has never HEARD of the host country.

Wow, I just had a Raw Story window open for several hours in the background. Noticed my Mac was starting to get sluggish, so I ran Activity Monitor — that Raw Story window was using more than 7 GIGABYTES of system memory. And as I watched, it increased even more. So just sitting there, not doing anything, something in Raw Story’s code is leaking memory like a sieve.

So be wary of leaving browser windows open with Raw Story pages. Another one that just eats memory constantly if a window’s open in the background is Mediaite.

I’m old enough to remember the ABC/Jim McKay Olympic coverage. The 1972 Winter Olympics were the first NBC games, and I was going: “What the fuck is this shit?” I’m still doing it.

If anyone is interested in pet stories, John Cole has been on a bit of an adventure lately. He just bought a house at auction (he was the only one bidding), and when he went in to inspect the house, he found that the previous owner had abandoned his dog in the house. It’s been an interesting story to follow. John Cole just adores animals. Bring tissues.

Not quite with Pakistan.

They Punjab state Government needed maintenance for it, and they were flying it to Russia.

Evidently, they need this maintenance well before now, because it had a malfunction and crashed, whereupon the Taliban captured the people on the Helicopter.

Bonus Hilarity: The Pakistanis supported the Taliban heavily in the past. So the people on the helicopter were captured by Pakistan’s former Proxy Army. Irony!

I’ve had that problem…and sometimes the site loads and loads and loads.

I know people need their logins for advertising counts and all, but if you grow tired of waiting get pissed off and leave I don’t think the online advertising works for the advertiser.

And I have long had a theory of advertising actually costing instead of benefiting the advertiser. Repetitive TV commercials often in the same program span is one such example. After a while you start to say you will never buy that product again. Not good for impressions.

I sure hope someday there is some big breakthrough where ads load a lot faster or something or the whole thinking is going to change from user to site owner to advertiser.

And I worked in advertising from a production graphics side and made many a small banner/site ad. So, I understand both sides. First person to make online advertising seem seamless and unobtrusive wins…bigly!

Ouch!

Chris Matthews talks about this All. The. Time. He’s a practicing Catholic, whenever he has a guest of approximately his own age who’s also Catholic, he goes into a patented routine about how when he was a kid there were lots of families in the parish with 8, 10, 12 children, they’d take up a whole row at mass, and he never sees that anymore, 4 or 5 kids is the bigger families, somebody’s everybody’s obviously ignoring the Pope’s pronouncements on contraception…

Couldn’t possibly have anything to do with feeding a dozen mouths. Or clothing them. Or sending them to school, go to the doctor, etc., etc., etc.

My husband was one of 10. My sister in law’s father called my father in law a piker…there were 14 in that family. Now…who can afford it? Not a single one of the kids (my bro/sis in laws) had more than three kids.

The basis of this is that the Wright brothers used a small catapult to get their first plane into the air in 1903, while Brazilian Alberto Santos-Dumont’s first plane took off entirely under its own power in 1906. That’s it. Catapult assist means you are not really flying. This is news to naval aviators who use catapults to launch from carriers. Ironically, Brazil is one of just 3 countries (the others being the US and France) who have a carrier that uses catapults. I guess their naval pilots aren’t really flying either.

Beyond that, Santos Dumont’s first plane was basically a motorized boxkite that could not turn a full circle, and there is good evidence that the Wrights flew without the catapult before Santos-Dumont’s initial flight.

Based upon how no matter what ugly sh*t Trump does Halperin still shills for him, I’m thinking he’s been sniffing Trump’s farts, and they’ve made him high. He just about had an orgasm on Morning Joke after Trump tweeted that the plane he’d talked about in his rallies yesterday was headed to Switzerland and not Iran. Nope, that happened - 100%.. all I’m clarifying is that no one actually threw the parents / baby out - and it was viewed as a ‘joking’ sort of moment during the rally by those in attendance / the press, that’s all.

Trump “jokes” in a way no sane people joke. Trump is the baby here - all the time.

The LA Times poll is essentially based on a fixed sample, to which they are slowly adding participants. That means that if they draw an unrepresentative sample to start with, they’re stuck with it as part of their overall sample until Election Day.

Also, they’re not specifically asking who their participants will vote for; they’re asking what probability there is that they’ll vote for Clinton or Trumpy Dumpy. So four Trumpers 100 percent sure they’ll vote for their fuhrer count more than five 75%-committed Clinton supporters.

D’Souza’s film.

I read some reviews yesterday that were absolutely brutal. Most of the reviewers reached the conclusion that D’Souza’s film is targeted at those who already believe the propaganda and conspiracy theories he pushes in the film. The conclusion I drew from reading the reviews is that it’s a mismatched, disjointed, hodgepodge of propaganda and conspiracy theories. I also read some comments from those who think the film is great. They were primarily focused on making ad hominem attacks on HRC, and of course, on bashing Rotten Tomatoes and calling it a site where most of the comments are made by ignorant libtards.

It’s been much less successful than his 2012 effort (which grossed $33.5 million compared to this thing’s $10.2 million).

Because of this model they are using, rules for a margin of error cannot apply because with the weighted numbers, an accurate count of actual voters polling for one candidate or another is pretty much impossible to determine.

I doubt if Trump could locate Japan on a world map. He’s running his mouth and talking about things he doesn’t understand. I want him to continue to run his mouth in regard to foreign policy because it will mean more foreign policy experts from both political parties will emerge to denounce him. The sh*t he says impresses his rally attendees but not foreign policy experts some of whom have already mentioned how ignorant he is and how dangerous he’d be as POTUS.

The most entertaining review of that movie I’ve seen was at RedState, from a completely unreal perspective.

The RedState reviewer mainly objected to the way D’Souza demonized the Democratic party by linking it to the Confederacy and the Civil War.

So even at a relatively sane part of wingnuttia (i.e., anti-Trump), neo-Confederacy is alive and well. Just a bit more evidence that Trump is merely a symptom of much larger problems.

What could possibly be wrong with combining politics and religion? Oh, I know the answer, but I couldn’t stop from asking the question. Many on the right are pretending to not understand why fewer Americans are joining organized religion. Why should they when they can see those who call themselves Christians lying for political reasons and deliberately bastardizing the teachings of Jesus their alleged savior? This guy just doesn’t “get” it. If he thinks Trump lives for us, I have a two-week vacation package to Hawaii to sell him for $19.95, all expenses paid.

Trump really is a witless fucking cocksplat. The reason Japan’s constitution is the way it is with respect to having a defensive-only military is that the US basically dictated that provision to the Japanese as part of the occupation after WWII.

So basic common sense would suggest not charging into this bit of international relations like a bull that been overdosed with spanish fly.

There is a very good reason that Japan currently doesn’t field a military outside of a self-defense force. (which currently has around a quarter million personnel serving). They are constitutionally forbidden to do so.

The US and Japan signed the Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security on January 19, 1960.

Both countries agreed to assist each other in case of armed attack on territories under Japanese administration. However, Japan cannot currently come to the assistance of the US if it is attacked, because of Article 9, which forbids the maintenance of “land, sea, and air forces”

.

It should be mentioned that Japan and South Korea are both trying to negotiate modifications to the treaty to allow for a higher level of autonomy for their military, so that they can provide more than a token presence with multinational forces, and participate in policing of the western Pacific region.

re: #347 EPR-radar

Trump has the feeling that he doesn’t need to have studied history well in order to understand why some things are the way they are today. He doesn’t know and doesn’t care that there’s a reason Japan’s military capability is restricted, or why it is only permitted to raise an army of a certain size. He can say whatever he wants to say on any subject and get away with saying it because his supporters don’t know he doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about and they don’t care. I recall a poll taken of his supporters. The main thing they want him to do is “shake things up in D.C.” When he says he’s likes “uneducated persons,” he’s not lying. He knows he can tell them anything, and they’ll believe it because they’ve seen him on their TV sets for years. They like his reality TV show, and for them, that makes him great. Never mind that his show is highly scripted. They just know they’re seeing the real Trump.
