Is that because it is hot and humid in the building and his head would look like a drowned rat without it?

And it sure sounds like he is just rattling off nonsense…well more than usual.

I just posted at the end of the last thread and said it sounds like he is running out of gas. He’s sputtering and reaching for anything.

re: #80 b.d.

Yea Donald, adopt George Washington’s worldview of global trade.

Timely!

But:

Washington wraps up his foreign policy stance by advocating free trade with all nations arguing that trade links should be established naturally and the role of the government should be limited to insuring stable trade, defending the rights of American merchants, and any provisions necessary to insure that the government is able to insure the conventional rules of trade.

and:

The President’s strong inclination in response to British provocations was to seek a diplomatic solution. But the envoy to England, John Jay, negotiated a weak treaty that undermined freedom of trade on the high seas and failed to compensate Americans for slaves taken by the British during the Revolution. Worst of all, the treaty did not address the then-common British practice of impressment. Congress approved the treaty with the proviso that trade barriers imposed by England be lessened. Washington, while dissatisfied with elements of the treaty, signed it nonetheless.

Drumpfskind fascistic fantasies of imposing massive duties on imports would seem to run counter to Washington’s own inclinations.

When that is completed, the first thing we should do is trying to promote a new form of Promethism within Russia, in an effort to pull Russia apart.

My guess is that the NY-centric media probably expects the campaigns to be run out of NY (or LA, SF, Chicago) because those are big (non-Southern) cities and that’s the way the world works. As for the anti-elitist Trump crowd - they don’t really care because they’re not really anti-elitist, they’re just anti-elitists-who-don’t-agree-with-them.

The city I grew up in in the 70s and 80s has a major Air Force base, and had nuclear missile silos. Occasionally my classmates and I would talk about what we would do if we saw the trails that indicated a missile launch. What a great way to grow up.
