Watch Live: Trump Rants Again in Florida

Politics • Views: 41,842

[Live broadcast concluded.]

Advance word from Twitter is that the large crowd is already seriously enraged and screaming “LOCK HER UP!” on cue, so this speech from the tiny-fisted fascist promises to go really off the rails. I wouldn’t do this to you twice in one day, dear reader, but Trump has been sabotaging himself so much lately I feel like I’ve gotta watch to see what kind of insanity will come out of him this time.

As I write this, Trump is running late and phony “aw shucks!” religious fanatic Mike Huckabee is testifying about the greatness of the talking yam.

So wait, Huckabee’s busy joking about Zika?

Yeah, he’s so pro-life.

Meanwhile, the GOP continues to do nothing to bring a Zika bill to the president’s desk for signature, because they keep trying to force defunding of Planned Parenthood or other poison pill provisos in their bill.

Does he have any family members who would like to get pregnant and live in Florida for the duration of their pregnancy and pretend they could not afford to be tested? Huckabee is a vile, vile creature.

It’s closing in on 90 minutes that Trump is late.

Well, to be fair, when Mrs. FBW skipped out on our Family Reunion Dinner in Pittsburgh to go see HRC, she was something like 2 hours late. That was the Bus Tour right after the Convention.

Argh. We’re about to get hit by a monster thunderstorm. I have to drive to a meeting four hours north for work tomorrow, and the entire route is in the middle of a flash flood watch. By the time I get to the meeting, the weather is supposed to be nice up there, but the drive tomorrow might be hell.

The good thing is I get to stay overnight at Itasca State Park after the meeting. The drive home on Friday should be a lot better. Hope I don’t get washed away on the way up.

In southeast PA, there was a family who sued the school district for using the camera on the school issued laptop to take pictures inside the kid’s room. The school tried to blame the deadbeat parents for not registering the location of the laptop, which forced them to activate the webcam. Residents of the township were irate and harassed the family for causing the school district to spend money on lawyers. During discovery it was found that the school had a quarter million pictures of teenagers’ bedrooms, including some with kids in various stages of undress.

Wonkette on a Website by some wingnut claiming that Hillary Clinton fixed the Republican Primary in Wisconsin for Paul Ryan.

wonkette.com

You’ve heard that the election is going to be rigged. That was speculation. Now we’ve seen it. Last night In the WI01 District where a Trump freedom-fighter, Paul Nehlen was facing down GOP-Establishment candidate (and Speaker of the House) Paul Ryan we saw a test-fire of the same software and strategy that the Clinton campaign is counting on to win in November.

Our sources worked with one of the technical minds behind DemVotesMatter, the code-name for the complex system that is being used to destroy American democracy.

I won’t be surprised if he gives the Trump Tower climber a job. MSNBC was acting like it was all a mystery why he was climbing the tower. Good. Kirk’s a fucking weasel. The “I’m going to vote for Powell” because of Iran deal is proof of it.

My mother is going out to vote for the first time in her life, specifically to vote for Hillary Clinton and Tammy Duckworth. (My mother, as a Navy veteran, has long been of the opinion that active duty and vets should not vote. With the Dumpster fire that Mark Kirk is, and the rise of Trump, she decided that position is not tenable if she wants to live in the Republic in which Navy she served.)

does anyone know?

does trump ever do factory tours, visit clinics, day care or other events that are more individual than standing behind a podium at a rally?

anything that might be considered intimate or personal?

i think this is interesting - mostly because i just noticed it

first, on the podium he’s insulated of course
then he doesnt have to show any individual humanity or relating to people as - people
he did that baby-holding thing last week and that went poorly for the cameras

he doesnt go into the stores, eat the food, walk the streets - like candidates do

i guess he does shake hands with people / receiving lines or such?

nothing that would make him look like a fellow human being interest in his fellow human beings who he wants to vote for him so he can govern them

it’s a real disconnect

Where I live, I would have no one to vote for in local elections.

Local officials here are not those things, but they are in a party in which an awful lot of its leaders and supporters are.

At the local (sixty miles away) smoke shop where I buy cigarettes, the clerk harangued me on Planned Parenthood being “baby parts sellers” (channelling her inner Carly Fiorina).

She does all the little things that a campaign should do but she never gets credited for them because so many people have their notion of what she is and it’s a shame because because I think her left wing detractors would realize she’s not the stereotype they think she is if they actually saw what she does. Still holding out for the electoral vote in my state (Nebr) that went to Mr. Obama in 2012 to go to Mrs. Clinton this year. Perhaps also another electoral vote (city of Lincoln and surrounding area), giving her four of five votes.

Mrs. Clinton was just in Nebraska campaigning a few days ago. Even if Nebraska won’t break for her, making her case here means the GOP has to spend time and money they don’t have trying to defend it.

That she was in your state suggests to me that it’s going to be at the least competitive.

We are electing Clinton because she’s the right person for the job, but her biggest accomplishment may be - like Obama - that she was a steady president through the fire hose of shit sprayed her direction. As the first woman president against people who think that a police state or a civil war is better than having her in office, she’ll have her work cut out for her. We’ll just have to support her and be the real citizens she deserves. No, this does not mean “with her right or wrong.” It means praising and criticizing without attacking her for being a woman or a Democrat.

“I had five grandfathers who fought for the Confederacy, and they were religious people who didn’t treat black people badly,” Toungate said, earnestly, his Southern drawl growing thicker as he spoke. “They were fighting for states’ rights, not slavery.” According to Toungate, before secession, the federal government mistreated Southern states by issuing unfair tariffs. “Thirty thousand blacks fought for the Confederacy because they loved their masters,” Toungate argued, offering the fact as proof that “slavery could not have caused the war.”

When he loses the debates, he’ll again claim that they were “rigged” and the moderators were “in the tank for Hillary,” to attempt to justify losing them. I recall that he’s already stated that he doesn’t need to prep for debates. I agree with what’s been said here many times already—-if he doesn’t implode, he’ll be rewarded with favorable press. The MSM will ignore his gross ignorance on so many issues and give him a gold star for “looking presidential.” The MSM has gotten on my last nerve with this kind of BS. Trump is an existential threat not only to America but to the entire world yet, our so-called journalists pretend he isn’t. If our *sses are eradicated because an unstable Pres. Trump uses the nuclear option and another nation retaliates against us, their *sses will also be eradicated. Idaho to delay submitting new science standards after recently being rejected

State officials say new K-12 science standards — which include for the first time references to global warming and the Big Bang theory — won’t be submitted to the conservative Idaho Legislature until 2018 after receiving a surprise rejection from lawmakers earlier this year.

Lawmakers spiked the first version of the standards in February after criticism built at the beginning of the session that the Idaho Department of Education violated state laws while forming them. No evidence of wrongdoing was ever proven, but both lawmakers and the agency received accusations that the new standards did not mention creationism and skewed too heavily on topics like human involvement in climate change and evolution.

The state has since agreed to start the process over again, and this time it’s taking a slower pace.

In the 18th century the Founders were liberals. I see conservatives try to say they were actually conservatives. They weren’t by the 18th century meaning of the word. 18th century conservatives either accepted monarchy in a weakened form in the UK or even supported absolute monarchy in France, Prussia, and Russia.

Oddly enough, the southern states had pretty much written the tariff laws that were current at the start of the war, and the states’ various declarations of secession barely mention tariffs, if they mention them at all. Meanwhile those same declarations are full of references to slavery and white supremacy and the “southern way of life,” which I’m pretty sure didn’t mean too much fried food in their diet.

The whole tariff thing is a lie that was fully under construction within a couple of years after the Confederacy’s defeat and has had endless rooms and wings and landscaping added in the many decades since. Generations of southerners have sheltered within its rotten walls.

Teh fallacy with blaming the North’s tariffs is that Lincoln wasn’t even officially President and in fact there had been 8 years of Pro-Southern Democrats in the WH leading up to secession. The tariffs are just an excuse by people who don’t want to admit their ancestors fought to preserve slavery. I get why the defense mechanism is there but it’s still shit.

Sounds like someone doesn’t understand what “slavery” means if he thought those 30,000 were able to exercise free will in the matter. Also sounds like he has never actually read the Articles of Secession. And the “state’s rights” bunk is bunk given that Southern states most certainly did not think it was okay for other states to outlaw slavery.
