Trump Boasts on Fox News: “I Don’t Know That We Need to Get Out the Vote”

Megalomania
Politics • Views: 38,399

After 70 highly placed Republican signed an open letter to Reince Priebus urging him to cut off funds to Donald Trump, the tiny-fisted fascist went to his safe space, Fox News, and boasted to Eric Bolling last night that he’s doing so well he doesn’t even need to worry about support from the Republican Party — or about getting out the vote.

The miners and evangelicals are going to put him over the top.

“We are gonna have tremendous turnout from the evangelicals, from the miners, from the people that make our steel, from people that are getting killed by trade deals, from people that have been just decimated, from the military who are with Trump 100 percent,” he went on. “From our vets because I’m going to take care of the vets.”

“I don’t know that we need to get out the vote,” the Republican nominee concluded. “I think people that really want to vote, they’re gonna just get up and vote for Trump. And we’re going to make America great again.”

What does he think, that the vote just gets out itself?

Sarcasm?

Seriously, was that sarcasm by Trump? Does he not know how elections are won? GOTV is how they’re won, and if you don’t have a ground game, you aren’t likely to win.

Trump’s betting that he can win simply on tv appearances and empty platitudes that the media uncritically replays over and over.

It’s the same BS that I noticed SMOTI retweeting - that purportedly big Trump crowds presage a huge win in November because of cherry picked small crowd events with Clinton:

And that assumes that the photos for the Trump events are even legitimately Trump events.

Bernie can tell Donald how well rally crowd sizes translate into votes.

He really thinks that because he won the 17-contestant GOP “semifinal” that he wins the Gold Medal.

Yeesh. @elsolarverde’s timeline is completely batshit. Trump really knows how to pick ‘em.

Big Beautiful Door  Aug 12, 2016 • 11:23:12am

There are political scientists who think that campaigns don’t matter; vote totals can be completely explained by things like demographics and economic conditions. That theory is going to get a real test this year, since Clinton has a state-of-the-art GOTV campaign, and Trump basically doesn’t have a campaign at all.

It’s as though Trump or Scavino pick the most batcrap insane people to tweet/quote tweet.

Each one is more insane than the next.

I’m almost surprised that he hasn’t tweeted everything out of Hoft’s timeline by now.

Clinton’s running a modern presidential campaign. Trump is basically your drunk uncle with more money.

Trump’s RCP average in a four way race is currently 37.6% of the vote, so he has a real shot at having the worst GOP percentage performance in the last century, beating Papi Bush’s 37.4% in ‘92 when Perot took 19% of the vote.

It’s very likely. He just seems to get worse as time goes on.

Wait Breitbart’s bragging about Trump being even in Georgia. They do realize that Georgia isn’t supposed to be even competitive so yeah I’ll take that though I don’t trust Breitbart to tie their shoes let alone conduct a poll.

Trump and his extremist supporters seem to have assumed that the Howard Stern rule must mean that Trump wins:

Private Parts | The Ratings Scene

For those not familiar with the Stern rule, it relates to how Stern had rabid followers, but his haters were avid listeners tuning in even longer to see what crazy things he would say next.

Trump seems to think that the more people that follow him on social media or turn up for his events, the better he’s doing. That’s even though neither actually translates to votes.

After all, quite a few of us here follow Trump on Twitter - and have absolutely no intention of voting for him. We follow because we want to see what batcrap insane things he’s inevitably going to say next.

No sarcasm was express or implied in the preceding.

Gravis is a B- rating polling company according to 538.com, so I think the race in Georgia probably is virtually tied. That is very bad news for Trump.

Not only B-, but also they’re a Republican firm most noted for laughable polls. If they show Trump at +1 in GEORGIA, it’s a good bet he’s closer to -4
