American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer: Women Can’t Be Trusted to Hold Political Office

Bryan has issues

Whenever you’re curious to find out the most caveman-ish take on any given issue, just check in with our old pal (and I do mean “old,” as in Dark Ages old), the American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer. Today we discover Bryan pondering the advisability of allowing women to hold political office, and guess what? He’s agin it!

“That’s always the pattern in the word of God,” he said. “The kings were all males, when you had a departure from that with Jezebel and Athaliah, it was not a good thing, it did not work out well. Leadership in the church is reserved for men, leadership in the home is reserved for men. In other words, in God’s economy, he has designed leadership and authority in society and in the church and in the home to be exercised by men.”

“I think you could make a good case that leadership in culture, society, politically as well as in the home, that that is something in God’s economy that’s reserved for men,” Fischer stated. “What if somebody had the courage to go on national TV, somebody of some kind of prominence or visibility, and said, ‘Look, I’m going to vote for Trump because he’s a man. I don’t believe that women should be entrusted with high political office’ … That’s the position I happen to take.”

Dear Bryan:

Please fuck off, and when you’ve finished that, kindly fuck off some more. On completion of that task, repeat until you take a dirt bath.

Thanks!

Site connected to Russian hackers posts Republican emails

A website tied to the hacking scandal of the Democratic Party has now posted a small batch of leaked emails from Republican campaigns and state GOP staffers.

The emails on the site, known as DCLeaks, appear to be from state party officials and former Republican presidential candidates, including Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). The messages range from June to October of 2015.

The DNC hacker or hackers known as Guccifer 2.0 used DC Leaks to promote leaks from a Clinton staffer’s email to The Smoking Gun, though the hacker claimed not to have been involved with the theft of the messages.
Most of the messages coordinate campaign activities, solicit funds, or invite or RSVP to events. The archive is largely the procedural minutia of running campaigns or state parties.

So, does Bryan Fischer think the three Republican women on my village board are unfit for office because they are women? Including the chairwoman (mayor)?

I have nothing against my majority-woman and majority-Republican village board, but if we threw the women off it, we would be balanced with one Democrat and one Republican man each.

Such attitudes might be one reason (amongst many) that there are so few Republican Representatives and Senators versus Democratic ones.

I have news for you, Mr. Jack*ss, If your mom hadn’t been female, you would have never been born. At the time in history in which you were born, most dads believed that household duties were decided on the basis of one’s sex——moms did the housecleaning, dads mowed the lawns. Not many men nurtured babies, wiped their behinds, fed them, read bedtime stories to them, kissed their boo boos, and/or helped older kids with their homework, etc. If your mom did these things, and more, for you, what makes your dad superior to her? If it hadn’t been for your mom’s care and attention, you would have been dead long ago. You also never would have lived to bastardize Christianity to serve your own purposes.

I will never, ever pretend to understand what Trump is thinking, but he seems like a candidate entering the grief process already.

He has taken a whole party down the road to ruin, but he is the one who is going to walk away, dust himself off and actually be in a better position. The Trump brand is now world famous, and right up there with Coca-Cola, Disney, Apple or Amazon in terms of recognition. In that sense, he has truly won.

And yet the GOP doesn’t want to come back from its break to deal with the issue, blaming Democrats for playing politics.

Meanwhile, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida is still banging on the anti-abortion and anti-contraception drum, and Texas just gave a bunch of its women’s health money to a Crisis Pregnancy Centre instead of organisations like Planned Parenthood (which can actually deal with such things as prevention - even of abortions).

But there is no war on women, and they are pro-life. Gaa.

White House just declared a “public health emergency” in Puerto Rico because of Zika.

25% of residents expected to contract Zika this year.

Zika is going to be the next battle ground in the ongoing war between GOP “conservative values” and public health.

And they chose the worst possible place to make a stand of it.

They oppose abortion in all cases, and still want to block access to contraception, even where these options are the only logical and reasonable ones.

And they will not even approve funding for research unless they cut it from some other tropical third-world, brown-skinned persons’ disease…

I’m trying a new tactic on FB. Instead of ridiculing wingnuts who say crazy shit, I’m complimenting them on their satire but warning them not to overplay it, because they’re coming across as too silly to be believed.

I’m curious to see how it works.

It’s like something I did years ago, when a friend and I were out riding, and a pair of yahoos in a pickup truck went by shouting “GEEEETTTTTT OFFF THE ROOOOOOAADDD!!

Instead of flipping them off, I smiled broadly, waved at them and shouted “HI!”

I could see the passenger pounding the roof in frustration at being so misunderstood…

Maspeth residents are vehemently opposed to the new 110-bed shelter, which they say will impact their quality of life by bringing homeless people into their community. The Department of Homeless Services has countered that there are 243 homeless New Yorkers whose last listed address was in Maspeth, evidence of a need for shelter services there.

Expect a Trump rally in Masbeth, Queens, sometime next week. (FYI, East New York is approx. 1.3% white.)

He can be a media phenomenon. We are talking about WWF and reality TV-level media, but that in itself is still a bottomless vault of revenue for him, and that is what he set out to achieve. He is simply (in)famous, and that is balsam to his ego.

Do not apply any standard or traditional concepts of logic or reason to his actions, he has totally transcended them.

re: #75 Wendell Zurkowitz ((slave to the waffle light))

his wingnut fans love WWF and reality TV, and he will be the king of both

Despite his prior work in the WWE, I seriously doubt the McMahons would invite him back after this year. They’re not going to want the controversyembarrassment that he would bring. They bring back a lot of old timers, but they keep their distance from anyone that would embarrass them from a PR standpoint - once Chyna did porn, she was persona non grata (apparently they wouldn’t even take her calls); Hulk Hogan is probably one of the five most important people in the history of the company and he’s probably not coming back after the Gawker stuff. No way Trump comes back (now, I could see him buying TNA, but that’d end terribly for all involved).

And same goes for reality TV… which network takes a chance on him now? What happens when they get the Rush Limbaugh advertising reaction (meaning all the major brands stay away)?

We are apparently already seeing it with Trump brand hotels and real estate - the hotels are renting rooms at worse rates than competitors, and condos are getting harder and harder to sell.

After the first night of the Republican convention, Drumpfskind apparently contacted Vince McMahon, as, according to Drumpfskind, McMahon thought the opening ceremony thing was impressive.

Well its the one with the industry with the most friends in high places. It’s unbelievable that pot is still illegal in 48 states and on the federal level but marijuana is not. I’m not trying to MBF this but the drug law problems are on both parties though in fairness to Obama, he’s done a lot especially this past year. Many MetroSpirituals feel different, but are not sure how or why. Some feel they don’t really belong here. Perhaps it’s because Earth has not always been their home planet.

It’s not as farfetched as some may think!

The “Who are we?” and “Why are we here?” has mystified humans for centuries. History is peppered with tales about our genetic relationship to otherworldly beings. Today, some scientists have theorized that it’s true.

[…]

According to one researcher, “We have to come to grips with the unbelievable notion that every life on earth carries genetic code for his extraterrestrial cousin… Our hypothesis is that a higher extraterrestrial life form was engaged in creating new life and planting it on various planets. Earth is just one of them.”

It’s also interesting since the Clinton Campaign has managed to make this election partially a referendum on the rights and dignity of the disabled, following Trump’s mocking of Serge Kovaleski. I call out Trump, which has a large effect in my village of 128. I truly think the Republicans here are either not going to vote for him or vote for Mrs. Clinton.

Every small bit counts.

Are you a “MetroSpiritual”?

The MetroSpiritual: Does your DNA code prove you’re part alien?

*blink*

I don’t think I’m metro-anything, but in my perfect universe, whoever invented that word will get a visit from a baseball-bat-toting 1990’s Dennis Leary.

re: #51 Wendell Zurkowitz ((slave to the waffle light))

He has taken a whole party down the road to ruin, but he is the one who is going to walk away, dust himself off and actually be in a better position. The Trump brand is now world famous, and right up there with Coca-Cola, Disney, Apple or Amazon in terms of recognition. In that sense, he has truly won.

he is well positioned to do some serious rightwing grifting, which may have been his plan all along; wasn’t he thinking of starting a Trump News Network?

From watching all those Okeanos videos, the term I’ve learned is tunicate.

Sea Cucumbers, though, are echinoderms. Also weird things.

And tasty in oriental dishes.
