Trump Adviser Clarifies: Hillary Should Be Shot for Treason, Not Assassinated

What an improvement
Politics • Views: 39,292

The co-chair of Donald Trump’s “national veterans’ coalition,” New Hampshire state Rep. Al Baldasaro, made headlines last month when he said Hillary Clinton should be executed for treason.

Today he’s taking a cue from the tiny-fisted fascist and whining that the dreaded liberal media “went against the law and the Constitution” by accurately reporting what he said.

And he clarified his earlier statement to fight back against these unconstitutional villains; Baldasaro wants to make it very clear that he did NOT say Hillary Clinton should be “assassinated.” (Even though nobody reported that he did.)

He said she should be “shot in a firing squad.” And that’s obviously much better.

“The liberal media took what I said and went against the law and the Constitution and ran with it, and they said that I wanted her assassinated, which I never did,” Baldasaro told The Republican/masslive.com. “I said I spoke as a veteran, and she should be shot in a firing squad for treason.”

What universe do these crackpots live in?

Repeating this from post at the end of the last thread: Trump is dragging GOP senate candidates down with him, increasing the odds that the GOP will lose control of the Senate.

Assassinated is so very different from being shot by a firing squad, y’know. Totes OK, even. Common event in all democracies.

Fun fact: due process of law within the American system (and the wider Anglo common law) actually requires that the trier of fact and trier of law not have a verdict in mind before hearing the evidence. Saying someone should be shot by firing squad for treason when there’s been no trial, kind of runs afoul of that general principle.

I’d love to hear him define the specific charges and provide the evidence to back them up. But mostly, when I hear someone say “TREASON!”, I figure I’m dealing with someone who’s simultaneously dumb as a post and crazy as a bedbug.

That’s the main reason it is regarded as outrageous to subject civilians to military tribunals, as various conservative/GOP knuckle-draggers have proposed.

Baldasaro first made the comments in July on the “The Kuhner Report” on WRKO-AM Boston, when he said, “Hillary Clinton should be put in the firing line and shot for treason” because of her use of a personal email server when she was secretary of state.

I wonder if Baldasaro thinks that Colin Powell should be shot for treason as well since he used private email as well when in office?

Crazy day at This Old House.

This morning I noticed a Columbia Gas of Ohio truck out in front of my house. No big deal…but I guess I did wonder why in front of my house. There are a few houses on my street undergoing rehab so maybe it was in front of my place because there were some contractors pickups up the street.

Then about 45 minutes later I get a call and notice it is an 800 number.

“Hello, this is Columbia Gas, do you own the house at ……..?”

Yes.

“Uh, we need to gain access to your garage. (They might have thought I was at work…I now work out of my house.”

What? My garage, why?

“We were out testing the gas lines in the alley behind your home and our tester led us to your garage. There seems to be a gas leak somewhere in that area.”

So, I run outside, let the guy in my garage and he does some readings. (The garage is detached and at the back of the yard accessed by the alley behind the house)

“Yep…it appears the gas line runs under your garage floor and we suspect a leak there.”

Ugh. I move my car out…the guy uses his tester and notices a small area where he gets a reading through some small cracks in the floor. (Old garage. Probably built in the 20s maybe earlier. House was built in 1905. Garage was built over the gas line steel pipe)

Anyway…next thing I know I have a whole crew out. They knock a small hole in the floor…readings climb.

Then I am told, “we have to shut the gas off at the main and test the whole line.”

They come inside, remove the gas meter and do a check of the line. Sure enough…it is leaking and as far as they can tell the old pipe is bad right there under the garage where they got the reading.

Then another crew comes out and makes a bigger hole and begins sucking the hole out to purge the gas. They were doing that from 10 AM to about 6 PM. Apparently the garage floor was preventing the gas from escaping and from me smelling it. It was also getting mixed into the dirt and rocks under the floor.

Now I have no gas, and am awaiting them installing a whole new service line running probably 100 feet from the alley all the way to the house. Hopefully they will be out tomorrow morning and start in. They said they think they can do it in a day as they use a boring machine with a video camera in the tip of the tool. Then they feed a plastic service line in.

They want to put the meter outside now, but they are going to have problems with the foundation of this old house. The footer is probably 18 to 20” think and pure limestone pieces. If the try to go through that where they want to, they will have to also go 90° through another wall that runs down the middle of my house inner walls that make the footers for the main hallway.

I think they are going to end up putting the meter back inside and use the existing hole. We shall see.

Thankfully it is summer. I only use gas for the water heater and furnace.

I’m just glad the gas was concentrated into the dirt and didn’t have a way to leak into the garage and then get lit someway and blow the whole garage up. Yikes!

Oops…edit. House built in 1905

Assassinated or shot to death by firing squad? Dead is dead, therefore, I’m reaching the conclusion that both Baldasaro and Trump have not only have threatened HRC’s life, they want her dead. They’re too cowardly to do the job themselves, so they put the idea out there that she deserves to die, hoping some unhinged nut somewhere will take her out. These are despicable people who cannot win using RW policies and ideas, so they resort to spreading fear and violence.

Yeah, there is that too. Not to mention that the RNC deleted 22 MILLION emails to cover up the fact that their servers were used, and Vice President Dick Cheney’s role in the process of outing an active CIA agent - in a pure act of political retaliation, as well as being at the center of illegal firing of US attorneys who were investigating Civil Rights Act violations by the Bush Administration just days before they were going to hand down criminal charges.

February 2016: Baldasaro talks to voters the day of the New Hampshire Primary

“…Another voter said he didn’t want to sound racist, but he didn’t think Obama was really looking out for everyone in the country. “I think after the election we’re going to find out he’s a true Muslim,” he said.

Baldasaro agreed. “I’m pretty good at looking at certain indicators,” he said. “You know, my military training.”

Baldasaro did serve 22 years in the Marines, reaching the rank of “first staff sergeant” according to one source, though there is no such rank in the Marine Corps. Staff Sergeant (E-6) wouldn’t be much of a showing for 22 years. First Sergeant (E-8) would be better but he strikes me as the kind of mouthy little sad sack who would have had an ear necklace if his CO had permitted it.

Londonderry. As I’ve said before, I went to a Trump rally the next town over last summer at the request of my civics-minded son who wanted to see what all the hoopla was about. There was a minority of camo-shirted types. Most drove in in nice SUVs and upper-end cars.

The funny thing is—most of these people probably trace roots to European immigrants and French-Canadians who came for the work at the mills two or three generations ago. What they want is no brown people and lower taxes (already few brown people and already no income or sales tax). Hillary is part of an abstraction about losing the right to “live free.” Very receptive to fabrications about “patterns of corruption.”

re: #66 Skip Intro

re: #71 HappyWarrior

But wait, there’s more!!

Grothman has argued that Martin Luther King, Jr. Day should not be a state employee holiday, calling the day off “an insult to all the other taxpayers around the state.” He has expressed doubts that “state workers would be ‘checking out DVDs or reading books’ about King and would probably just be out shopping or watching television instead.”

In February 2012, Grothman introduced Senate Bill 507, which would amend Wisconsin statutes to emphasize single parenthood as a contributing factor to child abuse and neglect.[31] Politifact investigated his claim that kids living with a parent and parent’s partner are “20 times” more likely to be sexually abused, and rated it True.[32] Grothman claimed that modern women were choosing to have children out of wedlock and “we should educate women that this is a mistake.”[33]

He also sponsored State Bill 202, which would have repealed the Equal Pay Enforcement Act, saying that the “Left and the social welfare establishment want children born out of wedlock because they are far more likely to be dependent on the government.”

He opposed a provision in a 2010 sex education law that prohibited teachers from promoting bias based on sexual orientation, saying that he did not believe the topic should be discussed at all in the public schools. According to the Capitol Times, Grothman’s opposition was based on the belief that instructors who lead these talks would have what he called an “agenda” to persuade students to become gay.[20] He postulated that “Part of that agenda which is left unsaid is that some of those who throw it out as an option would like it if more kids became homosexuals.”[20]

Grothman stated that he was concerned about what God might think of the United States after Secretary of State John Kerry announced plans to send scientists to Uganda “to help them understand homosexuality.”[21] He said Republicans, conservatives, and church leaders were not confronting the issue of homosexuality and were “losing the issue.” He stated, “We had such a great country in the relatively recent past. Now America, supposed to be the light of the world, instead we’re the light going in the opposite direction.”[21][22]

Speaking in support of Governor Scott Walker’s decision to repeal the Wisconsin Equal Pay Act, Grothman stated that the alleged pay differential is explainable: “Once you break it down by married and unmarried, the differential disappears.” [18] However, a study by the American Association of University Women in 2007 found that life choices and family circumstances explain only a portion of the difference in pay between genders. Grothman rejected that study, further claiming, “You could argue that money is more important for men. I think a guy in their first job, maybe because they expect to be a breadwinner someday, may be a little more money-conscious. To attribute everything to a so-called bias in the workplace is just not true.”

He is a piece of human garbage. His father should have pulled out.

IIRC, you used to post photos of your woodwork/trim rehab.

If you could keep posting photos of the rehab, we’d appreciate!

I was doing pretty good until I started to run low on money due to the ol’ job situation. Like losing it and then rebuilding as a freelancer.

It is getting better. I should be able to get back on my feet in a month or two and be able to afford the rest of the white oak for door jambs and then I can finish off the new trim cut to the same look I already have bought. White Oak cut to size has been a bit out of my budget.

I have the original wood up where I could, but there are areas where the house was chopped up and I needed to rebuild complete doorways that were removed and closed off to turn the place into a rooming house/funky apartments at one time.

Then I can get the whole hallway done which is a large portion of this house’s overall look and appeal.

I will be busy this winter and be sure to get images up.

I’ve been doing drywall and plaster rehab in the meantime along with more stripping of paint…doing anything I can for low bucks and pure labor. Plus trying to build clients and business takes a lot of time and energy. The last two years have been pretty spirit sapping.

The real good thing is this old house is paid off…so it is my major investment. I like that the area is coming along, so it really is better than the stock market at this time as far as future return and equity.

Another identical right wing fear of something “shoved down our throats.”

I wonder if this “shoved down our throats” thing has long been a part of RW ideology or if it is a metaphor that started around the time of high-speed internet and torrents.

Trump and nuclear codes should never be in the same sentence.
They should show him this and say that this is the entire defensive and offensive capabilities and strategy. Kept us safe and secure. Ok… Now let’s go look at the paintings.

I keep wondering how they take 2 months to pivot and make him look good when for 15 months he has failed at every turn and has made himself look like a total ass as a presidential candidate.

I’d say the book has been written and read a couple times and the story is now too well known. Of course there are people that could be fooled, but they probably were already in that mode anyway.

They are not going to win back the people that have brains and now know the real Trump.

re: #97 Jenner7

That’s right, Mr. Beck, just lump all of us black folks into the same category and slap a label on us. This is one of the main reasons GOP politicians have problems getting POC like myself to vote for them—-they do not allow for differences and think we all fit into a “black heritage” stereotype. I would describe myself as an average American who doesn’t think about my race until some nut like Beck mentions it and uses it to disparage me. Otherwise, I’m just an American living my life just like everyone else.
