Anthony Weiner Puts His, Uh, “Foot” in It Again, Trump Blames Hillary

Your daily serving of sleaze
US News • Views: 63,007

By now everybody knows former Congressman Anthony Weiner has, uh, issues. So the only real surprise about this story broken today by the New York Post is how gross it is, even for Weiner: Anthony Weiner sexted busty brunette while his son was in bed with him.

Apparently, he and wife Huma Abedin have been effectively separated for a while, but now Abedin is making it official.

And wouldn’t you know that the most repulsive person ever to run for president of the United States is trying to blame this mess on… wait for it… Hillary Clinton.

Donald J. Trump Statement on Hillary Clinton’s Bad Judgment:

“Huma is making a very wise decision. I know Anthony Weiner well, and she will be far better off without him. I only worry for the country in that Hillary Clinton was careless and negligent in allowing Weiner to have such close proximity to highly classified information. Who knows what he learned and who he told? It’s just another example of Hillary Clinton’s bad judgment. It is possible that our country and its security have been greatly compromised by this.” - Donald J. Trump

And this statement is just about as gross and hypocritical as Anthony Weiner’s behavior, because for all his faux concern for Huma Abedin, Trump and his surrogates and shills have been attacking and smearing Abedin for months, painting her as a terrorist sympathizer in league with (here come the magic words) RADICAL ISLAMIC TERROR!

Anthony Weiner is a phony, through and through. And so is Donald Trump.

Dick move there Tony.

Of course, Trump makes this all about Clinton. So too does Drudge.

As though the boss is supposed to keep everyone around them in check. You know, like Roger Ailes. Or Donald Trump checking out mistresses while married.

So, what’s the media’s excuse for posting the pictures of the woman? Weiner is public figure, but she’s just a random private citizen, and now you just published a picture of her in her underwear.

2016 is beating me (and mrs dm) all to hell on a personal level

tore a calf muscle in early february- no running for weeks
respiratory infection - a few weeks more
mrs dm ER visit 11:30 on a sunday night chest pains (turns out respiratory not circulatory and not what i had)
mrs dm twists ankle - 3 weeks on crutches, and im chauffer to and from her work 1 or 2 times a day 36 miles each way
3 plumbing visits in a month followed by septic manhole cover install because the original homeowner concreted over the tank and didnt leave an access port
manhole cover installers find live, undocumented water main buried in concrete deck set crosswise over the septic tank (!)
this past week lost a filling
then thursday 11pm a/c goes out. its 88+ degrees inside for 3 days. sunday new system installed soup to nuts. quiet. efficient. but who needs it?
and now gene….

only good news was the initial calf muscle injury happened in a 1/2 marathon where i took first in my division - actually dec/2015. took 2 months to tear completely and hobble me

we just want “normal” back

The idea that “Since A. Weiner makes poor choices, so does his estranged wife’s boss” is a heck of a logical leap. Therefor, this is not OT:

“Yellowstone Park was allotted 3,468 miles of land by the US government - so obviously the US knows about an active alien base or bases in the area,” Waring wrote.

I’m pretty sure the flowers are touch-me-nots.

In about about a month or so those flowers will form seed pods not unlike a pea pod. Shortly after that the pods will become very sensitive to touch. When touched they will split explosively along fault lines in the pod and hurl their seeds away from the main plant.

They’re cool to play with at that time.

Companies say they can’t find skilled workers. Turns out unions are pretty good at providing them

That is the strength of the German job market. Companies know that they have to invest in training, and the school system is also set up to offer a dual course of classroom education and on-the-job training

There was a confluence of factors, for sure. As the article stated, as higher education became more “important” it changed the game. As did our shift from a manufacturing economy to a service economy. And I’m guessing the rise of what I call the “MBA mindset” probably didn’t help things either (the idea that the only thing that matters is the quarterly/monthly returns). I think there’s a role for unions to play in our modern economic landscape, but I’m not sure what it is.

“We meant that we can’t find workers who will work long, backbreaking hours for peanuts.”

A number of economists have been pointing out for years that what business owners call a ‘skills gap’ really boils down to a ‘can’t-get-trained-experienced-workers-to-work-for-shit-wages’ gap. Supply and Demand SHOULD tell them if they can’t get the people they want for $10/hour, they might get them by paying a bit more.

Also a ‘don’t-want-to-pay-to-train-people’ gap - “But if we spend money training them, they might go work for someone else who will pay them more!” Again, if workers leave you for other employers who pay more, you can avoid this by, oh, I don’t know…PAYING MORE?

I think in the environment that’s in America now where police officers have been gunned down in the street, I think the jury was sending a message of support for the police officers,” said Mario Sims, Pastoral Counselor to the Franklin family. “Now somewhere between supporting the police officers and the constitution, they forgot that there’s a family whose constitutional rights were violated. The message you’re sending by awarding them a nominal award of a dollar is essentially, so what? So what that sworn police officers broke into your home and punched your son and tased them.”

And according to those polls:

Trump’s actually down to Clinton - 41.9 to 42.1. For intents and purposes, that suggests a tie. If anything, this pollster actually is delivering nothing but bad news for Trump, since this one had Trump up on Clinton for the better part of the past two weeks. Until the past two polls put Clinton ahead.

Unfortunately, the counter-response of capital has been simple and devastating — engineer an oversupply of labor at all levels. For the most part this doesn’t even have to be planned. The normal operations of a capital uber alles economy will ensure a labor glut.

But going back to his original wall comments, this is all about building a virtual wall - particularly with the use of natural barriers like mountains, deserts, and rivers (in other words, the situation we have at present since most of the “Trump” wall is already built - fencing is already approved for something like 700+ miles IIRC.

If Trump were to say that the penthouse condos should be sold to minutemen types and be provided with machine gun positions for shooting people at or near the Mexican side of the wall, two things would happen:

1) Trump would lock down his base for all time with that. He’d be their god.

A decade later, it remains unfinished because…that’s right, class, because the Republicans low-balled the cost of the fence and then refused to properly fund it when DHS screamed bloody murder about how the resources necessary would mean diverting almost the entire border security budget to building a fence whose utility was questionable at best.

On the “wall” stupidity:

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Gil Kerlikowske:

“…[T]he majority of any heroin that we seize is not between the ports of entry, it’s smuggled through the ports of entry, whether is in San Isidro or El Paso, or whether is at JFK airport.”
……….
These drugs are easier for smugglers to move in vehicles, at official crossings, because they are so small in volume. “It’s a relatively small amount—40-50 tons, we think—of heroin that feeds the heroin epidemic in the United States,” Gen. John Kelly, at the time the commander of U.S. Southern Command, told a Senate committee in March 2015. That 40 or 50 tons of heroin—enough to supply the entire United States for an entire year—could fit into two standard shipping containers. In 2014, 864,000 cargo trucks carried containers through one port of entry (Ciudad Juárez-El Paso) alone.

Smugglers, then, don’t need to risk sending multi-ton shipments through the remote wilderness areas and ranchlands that currently lack border fencing. They can break up that 40 or 50 tons into thousands of tiny shipments hidden in vehicles, cargo conveyances, air passenger baggage, and even attached to, or within, smugglers’ bodies.

Wall needs to be deeper. One half mile deep and a mile high. Nothing says America like a wall. And barbed wire. With guard towers. And machine guns. With searchlights. And drones. Armed.

Said it before, and I’ll say it again;
What is needed is a Panamax capable canal. From Brownsville, to San Diego.
And, the spoil from digging the canal can be piled up on the Mexico side to for THE WALL

I’d put the date further back. The 80s were relatively enlightened compared to the garbage Trump is pushing. His ideology is from the early 20th century, and some of the crap is repackaged racist attitudes from the 19th.

He’s deliberately exploiting an audience of ignorant throwbacks, prepared by years of degraded right wing media and blogs to accept this kind of ugly hatred.

OT: My wife received a large box of fabric in the US Mail today.

She picked out an old Sixties McCall’s pattern to make a dress and asked me to pick the fabric for it from what she’d ordered.

I suggested the red fabric with the huge white polka dots, because it would look like she was wearing a weird looking Polish flag.

[whap] with the pattern.

So she is using that fabric.

Always liked that character of William Burroughs’ fevered writing. He’d be standing over an open body cavity doing a procedure and dropping ashes from his ciggy into the patient.

Even if you build the wall you still have the problems of people trying to climb up it, tunnel under it and blast through it.

I don’t even want to think about the maintenance costs of a 2000 mile wall.

And the there’s the added issue that the wall would utterly ruin many border ecosystems and kill wildlife.

Model planes very often include markings and other features to duplicate an aircraft associated with some historic event, George Welch’s P-40 from the Pearl Harbor attack or the Red Baron’s Fokker Dr.1, for example. All well and good.

Now, we even have a kit “commemorating” 18-year-old idiot Mathias Rust’s illegal flight through Soviet air defenses from Finland to Red Square in 1987:

Cessna 172 Skyhawk II — Plastic Model Airplane Kit — 1/48 Scale

I paged this incident a couple of years ago.
Great Moments in Malicious Hooliganism: May 28th 1987, Mathias Rust Flies to Red Square.
This was a huge embarrassment to the Gorbachev regime, not least because Rust had been on the ground in Moscow for 2 hours before anybody thought to arrest him. He was freed as a “good will gesture” in 1989, though German officials might well wish the Russians had kept him. In the years since he has garnered convictions for stabbing a woman who rejected his advances, as well as for fraud and stealing a cashmere sweater. He is now reported to be working as a bank analyst (!).

Because of a fluke of museum restoration, Feldwebel Alfred Bindseil’s Fw-190 “Gelb 11” is a very common model configuration. It was in this paint when it shot down the Decatur Deb.
