Trumpkins have had a few basic responses to the Newsweek article and to this tweetstorm:

“BENGHAZI!”
“CLINTON FOUNDATION!”
“HILLARY SOLD URANIUM TO RUSSIA!”
“WHO CARES THE WITCH IS DYING ANYWAY!”
“MAJOR DONORS BECAME AMBASSADORS!”

Or they focus on the fact that the article says there’s no proof that the Trump Organization itself did anything illegal. That of course misses the point that the issue is not whether or not the Trump Organization itself did anything illegal. The issue is how Trump would act as POTUS given his very real financial conflicts of interest that often go against what would be in the country’s best interest.

Hoovers has Metrocare Home Services Inc listed as a Hicksville NY address. Not Chelsea’s apt in NYC.

These fuckers don’t even realize that the Health Dept record explicitly states that the address changed - it merged or moved, and the record is for historical purposes only.

METROCARE HOME SERVICES, INC.

METROCARE HOME SERVICES, INC.
21 East 26th Street, 4th Fl
New York, NY 10010
Note: This facility is closed or has merged with another facility. Information here is maintained for historical purposes only.

But here’s the rub. These people don’t care that a health care business could run out of an apartment (or residential location) as a home office. They think that this is proof that Hillary went to a super-secret medical facility at Chelsea’s place, and this is the smoking gun.

It’s all down the rabbit hole from there.

I supported Mr. Sanders in the primaries. That does not mean I dislike Mrs. Clinton.

When it became obvious Mr. Sanders was not going to win, I went all in on Mrs. Clinton.

And even if she was unlikeable (she is not), I don’t have to like the President to be satisfied with the job she is doing. I’m not voting in a popularity contest, I am voting for a competent President.

I am voting just as much for Mrs. Clinton as I am against Mr. Trump, because Mr. Trump is incompetent in the job (as is Dr. Stein, who is definitely unlikeable and about as tied up with Russia’s leaders as Mr. Trump is, though with less money).

It’s plausible that the hotels already weren’t making the big bucks, given Trump’s talent for running businesses into the ground. And the $5 billion for the Trump ‘brand’ was always Trump-grade bullshit.

Most of the people who comprise his “personality cult” have no money to spend other than for hats and t-shirts..

And yard signs, and bumper stickers, and deplorable t-shirts, and when you start adding that all up, it would amount to quite a bit.

Moreover, people who follow cults tend to go all-in with their finances. Some will do things like buy swag rather than by food for their children.

At this point, as far as I am concerned, anyone still a GOP candidate is no longer enough for me.

At one time denouncing Mr. Trump, like my Senator Ben Sasse did, would be enough. Staying in a party supporting a fascist to me now says the person is still supporting the fascist.

I have more respect for the state senator here who said “screw this” and joined the Libertarian Party.

That means there will be an awful lot of blank lines on my ballot (since I get a choice between a GOP candidate and “write in”).

My wife’s historical brush with fame is Jesse James, her first cousin three times removed (via Cole Younger, her great-great-uncle). My wife is a Younger.

In another twist, my brother in law purchased a piece of property in Texas owned by the Northfield Bank in Minnesota (the one the James Gang attempted to rob). The title was fouled up (it was actually two different pieces of property as he and his lawyer found), so the Younger clan finally got their revenge (Northfield Bank tried to back out when they discovered the error, he threatened to sue and they let the second property go).

Interesting tidbit from a link embedded in the article:

Romney pollster Neil Newhouse says the poll shows “encouraging movement” in the wake of the first debate in Denver. Obama pollster Joel Benenson calls the method used to identify likely voters flawed.

In the last election, Gallup’s registered voter model — not its likely voter model — was a much more accurate predictor, with their likely model missing the mark in 2010 by 9 points right before the election,” Benenson says. “That explains why Gallup’s results are way out of line with a dozen recent swing state polls that show the president with a double-digit lead among women.”

Basically that’s all Oz did, provided some air of believability to the report of a man who he’s never met and who nobody takes seriously. Oz did not conduct the physical, wasn’t in the same room as it went on, and probably has nobody’s word but Trump’s that the report is authentic. But he’s reading it because he’s guaranteed higher ratings for having Trump on his show and Trump’s having him read it because Oz will be taken seriously where Dr. Feelgood would be laughed off the stage.

Oud meistro Marcel Khalife from Lebanon is also confirmed to be playing there.

Got a very cool new feature today - if the main article contains a YouTube video, and you scroll down past it (for example, to read comments), the video will automatically shrink to a smaller size and jump down to the bottom right of the page, where it will stay anchored and continue playing. So you can now watch videos from the post — like a live stream of a debate or speech — and read/post comments at the same time.

I so fucking sick of these fuckers, their enablers in sports and at colleges:

Delaney Robinson, a sophomore at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, held a press conference on Tuesday during which she accused Allen Artis, a fellow student and football player, of raping her. What’s more, 19-year-old Robinson said that while she cooperated with law enforcement and campus officials in the wake of the incident, the school has failed to adequately investigate her allegations.

“My life has changed forever,” Robinson told reporters, “while the person who assaulted me continues as a student and a football player on this campus.”

On Wednesday, Artis turned himself in to authorities. According to CNN, he was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday. He has also been suspended indefinitely from the football team. The alleged assault took place back in February at an apartment complex on campus. Robinson says she went to the hospital and was examined by a nurse trained in sexual assaults. A rape kit was administered. She also met with investigators with the school’s department of public safety, whom she says subjected her to “humiliating and accusatory questions.”

What was I wearing? What was I drinking? How much did I drink? How much did I eat that day? Did I lead him on? Have I hooked up with him before? Do I often have one night stands? Did I even say no? What is my sexual history? How many men have I slept with? I was treated like a suspect.

My humiliation turned to anger when I listened to the recorded interviews of my rapist by DPS. Rather than accusing him of anything, the investigators spoke to him with a tone of comradery. They provided reassurances to him when he became upset. They even laughed with him when he told them how many girls’ phone numbers he had managed to get on the same night he raped me. They told him, “don’t sweat it, just keep on living your life and playing football.”

So, is our so-called liberal media going to ask Gov. Mike Pence in their next interview if he thinks punching a sixty-nine year old woman qualifies as deplorable (since he wouldn’t characterise David Duke that way)?

Not just their vote; the entire entertainment industry is utterly dependent on them, along with most social media and app makers. This is why abuse of women, minorities, etc. is not only permitted but celebrated. There’s nothing wrong with Twitbook that destroying their servers would not cure.

Sheesh, the bullshit on this health thing. Panel woman on CNN lists a looooong list of stuff about Hillary’s health down to a freaking sinus and ear infection last January. Dr. Oz is interviewed and sez Trump had tests such as a colonoscopy, EKG, etc. “a few years ago” with his “physical” last week appearing to be only a blood test but according to a panel consensus….

NEITHER side will be releasing any complete medical data. (They did acknowledge that Hillary had released more than Trump after going on extensively about how she didn’t tell right away that she had pneumonia and knew about it for DAYS. How terrible!)

Exactly. What a close election will show is that a Republican racist who knows how to not shit on the floor will get at least 45% of the vote. If he doesn’t embarrass himself constantly for a year, the media will laud him as a true statesman.

This all started about 3 weeks ago with that awful AP story, and hasn’t let up since. Trump is truly getting a boost from the media and I can’t figure out why they hate Hillary but not Trump. He’s deplorable.

re: #181 Anymouse

Out-of-towners just came to my front door, asking my wife to “share some thoughts about the Bible.” She asked them if she could share some thoughts about reason and science, they said “no thanks” and left.

Must be my village’s turn again: About once every two years the JW’s come by to try to drum up business.

A couple of women stopped walked into my backyard garage and asked to speak to me. Noticed one was carrying a Bible. I was obviously busy on a woodworking project and said so. I also said that I grew up discussing and arguing theology with prominent members of many religions (folks visiting my dad) and they really didn’t want to engage me on the topic.

One asked “What’s theology?”. The other had a clue and grabbed her companion’s arm to lead her away. With that as the first question, I suspect they wouldn’t have enjoyed the conversation.

I must confess to muttering “get off my lawn” as they left. Being old has it’s perks. ;)
