Video: Trump: “Take Guns Away From Hillary’s Bodyguards, Let’s See What Happens to Her”

Another unsubtle incitement to violence
Politics • Views: 47,742

YouTube

Speaking in Miami on Sep 16, 2016, Donald Trump said Hillary Clinton’s bodyguards should “drop all weapons,” then “let’s see what happens to her.” This isn’t the first time he’s unsubtly suggested violence against Hillary Clinton.

Trump: She wants to destroy your Second Amendment… Guns, guns, guns, right? I think what we should do, is, she goes around with armed bodyguards like you have never seen before. I think that her bodyguards should drop all weapons, they should disarm, right? Right? I think they should disarm. Immediately. Whaddaya think, yes? Yes. Yeah. Take their guns away! She doesn’t want guns. Take their, let’s see what happens to her. Take their guns away. OK?

Oh FFS.

Yeah, Trump entered to Les Deplorables - a sendup of Les Miserables, which was about a failed French uprising. He’s associating with the side that was all but wiped out.

trumps tax return promise

probably already obvious to those here

“You questioned his citizenship during his campaign, and you said afterwards if he produced that long-form birth certificate, you’d produce your tax returns. But you didn’t do it, did you?” asked Ireland TV3’s Colette Fitzpatrick in May 2014.

“Well, I don’t know — did he do it?” Trump said. “If I decide to run for office I’ll produce my tax returns. Absolutely. I would love to do that. I did produce a financial statement even though I wasn’t even running. I did produce a financial statement and it was shocking to some because it was so much higher than people thought possible.”

and another interesting point from a commenter at dkos

unlike the “email scandal” and all the other garbage that Hillary has to repeatedly clear herself of, if Trump admits the truth—even once, and no matter how fleetingly—he’s put it behind him forever?

What would Secretary Clinton have to do to qualify for the same absolution?

What song? Perhaps “Master of the House?”

Master of the house, keeper of the zoo
Ready to relieve ‘em of a sou or two
Watering the wine, making up the weight
Pickin’ up their knick-knacks when they can’t see straight
Everybody loves a landlord

Remember when it was mentioned that Donald Trump’s bank was Deutsche Bank, because no US bank wanted to touch him? Now the DOJ wants to hit Deutsche Bank $14 billion for their part in the subprime mess-and Deutsche is balking?

Well, Deutsche is seriously impaired compared to the other banks (their stock has been on a freefall since Brexit)-but Vox dropped this little tidbit….

Deutsche, for its part, is flatly rejecting the $14 billion price tag. “Deutsche Bank has no intent to settle these potential civil claims anywhere near the number cited,” it said in a statement. A source told the Journal that it expected to pay somewhere closer to $1.9 billion.

Another possibility, which Coffee warned me not to discount, is that Deutsche is simply waiting for the US election to end — on the hope that a Donald Trump presidency, unlikely as it may seem, might drop the case entirely.

I always held the hope that some network would just get fed up with having to eat Trump’s shit and would start hitting back. Maybe today’s stunt was the proverbial straw.

But let’s see whether a) they keep it up and b) any other networks follow suit. Media sucks, but FFS, somebody’s got to have a little pride left here.

I think there is genuine anger in some of the newsrooms. I noticed that the NYT and Wash Post both called Trump a liar, essentially in their headlines for today.

The rickroll thing he did with his “statement” was too far for the reporters there.

Of course, why the hell did it take them this long to learn that he will never, ever actually play straight with them?

re: #104 scottslemmons

I still think they’ll be back to the usual “We love you, Donald! Your hands are huuuuge!” by next week, maybe by Monday. The press loves chaos and ratings too much, and they still want him in the White House so he can give them another four years of mega-ratings.

Alas, I agree.

The worst thing about the coverage of this campaign hasn’t been the coverage. It’s been the media’s insistence that the coverage has been good. It’s been horrifyingly awful.

Trump is running a blatant racism. And a candidate doing this should be getting very negative coverage. But he actually got better coverage than both Hillary AND Bernie. It’s almost criminal.

Nate Silver advising that which ever candidate has been featured primarily in the news has been the one to suffer in the polls as a result, and Trump may have set himself up for a round of bad news cycles. Also, the media seem to have tired of Clinton and Trump has soooo much to play with, as CNN has been showing us tonight.

Brugmansia. Related to Datura, but different-brugmansia flowers are pendulous, while datura are erect. Possibly b. suaveolans based on the flower color. They should smell wonderful in the evening.

Agreed. The poor girl will probably have nightmares for days.

On a semi-related topic (tRump’s “Alt-Reich” followers), I find myself pondering a tactic employed by a friend of mine for dealing with antisemitic BS in social media - responding to the hate posts with materials the posters find offensive themselves, such as IDF stock photos (“Teh armed Juice are coming for you!”), revealing public photos of the Israeli gay pride parades, Nirenberg trial hangings and so on. I’m generally of the mindset that engaging with the trolls is giving them something they want (attention) that should be deprived, yet giving them a taste of their own medicine is probably not what they’re anticipating..

It’s on the WHO list of essential medications.
