ISIS started in Iraq after the invasion of Iraq and the disarming of the army and police. They then moved into Syria.

That’s even less than the 27% number.
Small group sample size error. 3 of 20 is 15%, but to get close to 27% you only need 2-3 more in that group of 20 to get there. It’s like in baseball you can go 4 for 4 in one game, but chances are you’re not going to go 75 for 75.
In other words, it’s probably still close to 27%.

So what’s your question, huh? Donald built buildings in cities, and he’s thought about NATO and CHYNA and CYBER and shut up
Trump is betting big money that more people in America will agree that things suck a lot, versus those who think that things are getting better.
Iran was ready to fall! After only 36 years since the Revolution! Of course, Republicans also think the Cuban embargo was just coming into its own after 55 years.

What did Trump say about NATO?
1) they aren’t paying fair share.
2) they should be pay the proper amounts;
3) NATO could be obsolete because they don’t focus on terror.
The only time the mutual defense obligations were activated was after 9/11 - when the Europeans came to our assistance.
NOT the other way around.

Iran’s population is over 77 million, about the same as Germany. They’re going to be a regional power pretty much no matter what?
Until GW Bush decided to depose Hussien, the geopolitical world view regarding the region was that Iraq was designed by the European powers to serve as a counterweight to Iran in the region. They’ve always been a regional power, and in the days of empires, were a major power a few times, as well.

Trump’s lying about the nuclear arsenal too.
The B-52 is still a cornerstone, but under Obama has authorized a nuclear weapons modernization program for warheads. Over life of that modernization program we’re talking over $1 trillion.

That was a regular occurrence between us when I was in the US Navy and Soviet seamen. More of a way to blow of steam.
Neither the Soviet Union nor the United States would have ever considered starting a war over that, even when we did things like moon Bears, or their pilots flipped off ours.

Well Trump actually said something decent—if Hillary wins he’ll absolutely support her. Did that cost him the vote of the dude who promised a bloody revolt if she wins?
And here we go with Tom Blowhard also pumping Trump.

So I’m going to repeat myself here: think with the adrenal glands.
I’m not going to argue that people don’t vote with how they feel.
I am going to say that I think the majority of people today - and it may not be a large majority but I do believe it is the majority and the polls support this - don’t feel good watching a man yell at and interrupt a woman repeatedly.
You’re essentially trying to argue that the bully is what sells. I disagree that enough people want the bully for the substance to not matter at all.

I think Clinton won, but Trump supporters wont give a shit. The undecideds? If you think the Trump responses to anything tonight -from his response on nuclear policy to the domestic policy - suggests Trump is presidential, it’s a shitshow of epic proportions.
It should be a no contest. This was a TKO, and frankly, it wasn’t even that close. Trump never even came close on hitting Clinton. The closest was on email exchange, and even then, it wasn’t close.
Trump’s performance was taking the worst of Lazio and mixing it with Trump’s Sarah Palin word salad.
Trump’s already left the building, and Clinton’s busy exchanging pleasantries with the crowd.

I saw ProLifeLiberal mention that he missed having me around earlier so I thought I’d drop in and let you know how I’m doing.
Busy with my job a lot but making good money, though the commute is still bad but not as bad as it could be.
I still take the time to read most of the threads but as you guys probably know I made my bones back when I was still in college and LGF was still making a transition from being not affiliated with the far right to one that was openly embracing the center left. Back then I felt this place really needed me to do what little I could to champion liberal causes in my awkward stumbling way.
These days my moderately liberal positions are more or less the norm on this site which is why I don’t drop in to post all that often.
That and I’m playing a lot of Blood Bowl 2 recently.
My Chaos Team was missbuilt honestly, needed to work on making a killer beastman and not going to get one any time soon but hey I’m 2300 TV so I might as well keep playing games and work on my general fundamentals, can always craft a new Nurgle team once they come out to play.
I lost one Chaos V Chaos game and won a second, so that’s something.
Hope you guys are all keeping well!

That would be “the truth,” Governor Christie. That’s their agenda.
Presumably if Hillary Clinton had told a falsehood, they’d be all over that too.

“”I was really proud of myself that I didn’t say what I was going to about Bill Clinton’s behavior. Out of respect for Chelsea, I held back on that issue.”“
He is a f*cking idiot. He’s not running against Bill Clinton, and I doubt Chelsea gives a d*mn what he c/would say about her dad’s past. It’s obvious to me that the Clintons have moved far beyond that point in their history, but tools like Trump and his supporters haven’t. And besides, that sh*t didn’t end Bill Clinton’s presidency when the GOP thought it would in the 1990s. His poll numbers rose, and he’s still one of the most popular presidents today. These folks are so full of sh*t that they should go into the Porter-Potty business.

All that WWE extravaganza needed was Hillary Clinton going after Donald Trump with a folding chair.
And the electric hair clippers.

Hey guys…
Good to see ya dude.

I’ll stick around for another half an hour or so, then probably need to go to bed.
Glad to see that Hillary’s massive preparation payed off.
Was very glad to see that moment when Trump began to answer/respond, but didn’t get a chance since the cheers for Hillary drowned him out, though I can’t recall exactly what drew it from the audience.

Someone here (lawhawk?) said almost a year ago, that Hillary would gut Donald like a fish in the debates, because she would do her due diligence oppo research and identify all his weak spots, and then pick at those scabs again and again and again, and she is relentless.
Damn you were so right.

I went to an open house at my kids school and talked to the teachers. The places where we’re screwing up education is in places like Detroit where we need to put more money and get good teachers. For a lot of the places you’re thinking of, though, a lot of it’s not the teachers. It’s parents who think that when the kids learn about slavery, that they need to have the correct information, namely that the slaves had it better and where happy. It’s parents who think that evolution is about teachers trying to make kids worship the devil.

“Andrea Mitchell not happy.”
Based on what I’ve seen of her reporting, it’s no one’s fault except her own that she thinks Trump is an acceptable candidate for president. Just because one makes oneself believe a certain thing doesn’t mean it’s true. I am fed up with these media personalities trying to shape the news instead of reporting the news. Anyone who has spent any time listening to her program should have no doubt that she leans right.
