Republicans are completely incapable of governing. Proof of this self-evident fact can be found in the acts of Congressional Republicans in Obama’s term.

If Democrats controlled Congress and denied a Republican president a hearing on a SCOTUS nominee for over 6 months, accompanied by a total lack of motion on all other judicial nominations, the howls of right wing outrage would have deafened every creature on Earth capable of hearing.

I managed to master the art of smoking meat on my not-Weber grill (cheap knock-off). Got chicken leg quarters and bone-in breasts this morning for $1/lb. Getting away with everything…

Not getting indicted for non-crimes.
Not getting convicted for non-indictments.
Not getting death penalty for non-convictions.

All while the outrage factor is turned up to 11ty about every transgression no matter how minor or irrelevant. Benghazi is just one of the more notable investigations (and there were multiple Benghazi investigations) that found no criminal wrongdoing. But that doesn’t stop them from screeching indignities about being guilty on no proof of just flat out innuendo.

Then you’ve got whining and complaining about a NDA that was released last year that doesn’t show anything new - and doesn’t change anything about the FBI and DOJ not referring for prosecution because no reasonable prosecutor would bring a case forward.

Of course the GOP aren’t reasonable. They’re unreasonable and irresponsible.

Today’s statements by McConnell are proof of that - they’re now bitching that their veto override was a mistake because Obama didn’t explicitly state the reasons for vetoing in the first place (he did). Craven doesn’t begin to cover this.

I have been told that the price increase for brisket is due to the demand for it by the “Texas BBQ” industry, whereas in olden times it was considered some cut that only Juice enjoyed. Supposedly that is also the reason for many NY-style delis going out of business. :(

Yeah. Statute of limitations appears to be five years. However, I’d need to look and see whether there’s any tolling of the statute of limitations for fraud or conspiracy (since Trump tried to hide the true purpose/intent).

But halal meat is non-kosher (unless it was kosher first, iykwim)…

I went shopping this afternoon, and ALL THE BRISKETS WERE OVER $120!!!!

The butcher explained they cut the briskets for people who are having like a bazillion guests for the holidays.

I bought a couple of Cornish hens.

You’re making me nervous. Order 25lbs of brisket the other day. Haven’t picked it up yet. Hope I don’t have to sell my car to pay for it.

I’m more of a spirit of the law than a letter of the law kind of guy. Make an effort to be pure, but don’t kill yourself with guilt if you’re not perfect. God’s not that big an asshole that he’ll punish you for a brisket…or you can stick with the hens. I love cornish game hends…I split ‘em with scissors down their back, pull out the breast bone and grill ‘em butterfly style in about 12 minutes.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — A federal judge on Thursday temporarily prohibited Arkansas from blocking Medicaid payments to Planned Parenthood, expanding her order requiring the state to continue paying for services for three patients who had sued over the move.

U.S. District Judge Kristine Baker issued a preliminary injunction preventing Arkansas from suspending payments to Planned Parenthood for any services to Medicaid patients in the state. Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson last year terminated the organization’s Medicaid contract because of secretly recorded videos made by an anti-abortion group.

I wouldn’t think that someone who has spent seven plus years calling another person the dumbest mfker on the planet and America’ worst leader would need any input from that individual, would s/he? I’ve always believed GOPers have been intimidated by Pres. Obama’s stellar intellectual abilities. They haven’t wasted one millisecond abstaining from employing the racial stereotypes and scapegoating that are usually associated with blacks, Hispanics, lower class whites, LGBTQ Americans, etc. They grew up thinking “blacks are dumb,” so that’s what they believe. Pres. Obama told them before they sent the bill to the WH why he’d veto it, but they didn’t want to hear it. He vetoed it, and they overrode his veto, so this is their colicky baby to deal with.

No, Venezuela has a shitload of oil and while they would suffer from the price drop like, say, Russia did, it wouldn’t be lethal had the oil industry not been nationalized (see def. of socialism), which led to its ruin, so that Venezuela had to buy lighter oil from the US, of all places.
