Donald Trump’s Son Eric Appears on Radio Show With Ties to White Nationalists

The family that hates together
Politics • Views: 77,058

As we pointed out a while back, Donald Trump Jr., son of the Republican Party’s nominee for president, gave an interview to the host of the blatantly white supremacist radio show Political Cesspool, James Edwards, and shortly afterwards Edwards was invited by the Trump campaign to the Republican National Convention and given press credentials.

Well, it isn’t just Donald Jr. who’s associating with the white supremacist crowd.

Right Wing Watch reports that Trump’s other high-profile son Eric Trump appeared yesterday on the radio program Liberty Roundtable — hosted by the guy who syndicates Political Cesspool:

The younger Trump later claimed that he had no idea that Edwards would be interviewing him, saying that the booking agency that set up the interview had told him it would be with “Liberty Roundtable” host Sam Bushman. Bushman, who syndicates Edwards’ white nationalist program “The Political Cesspool” and often has Edwards on his own show, disputed that account, saying the booking agency had actually reached out directly to Edwards.

The campaign, apparently, did not learn its lesson from the whole debacle, because last week a Trump economic adviser, Stephen Moore, appeared on “Liberty Roundtable” and yesterday another Trump son, Eric Trump, also did.

Eric Trump spoke with Bushman about the vice presidential debate and his father’s plans to save the “inner cities”; Edwards did not appear in the interview with either him or Moore. Still, if the Trump campaign continues sending top surrogates to a show where Donald Trump Jr. was surprise-interviewed by a white nationalist, it seems like they aren’t trying too hard to avoid a repeat.

The reality is that this is a extremely dangerous storm, which has already killed more than 100 people, and it is likely to be much more deadly before all is said and done.

Conspiracy theories are for the weak minded, ignorant, and those who can’t be bothered to understand the natural world or events.

This should have been named Trump Tower:

The above building is in front of the new Salesforce tower in San Franciso (this view is from my office two blocks away). It’s 50 stories tall. Behind it, in addition to Salesforce tower is the new Transbay terminal for San Francsico (multi-billion dollar project).

Now for some fun facts.

Fun fact 1: Shiny new tower has a concrete, not steel, skeleton, so it weighs about 8 times most buildings of its size.
Fun fact 2: The pylons for this building were drilled 90 feet into the ground.
Fun fact 3: Bedrock beneath this building has been found…at 260feet. (yet it was built to code)
Fun fact 4: It’s leaning toward SF Tower.
Fun fact 5: Someone recently paid $12million for an apartment in that building…which is leaning…and built on sand…expected settling was 4”, not 16”…and the excavation next door at the Transbay terminal is causing the ground beneath it to drain and dry.

In other words…shit is going to hit the fan…very slowly for a little while, then all at once.

They just need to lift it up, drop some 260foot deep pylons to the bedrock, and set it down again…or dismantle it top-down since they can’t drop it on new construction.

re: #10 darthstar

My guess is that they’ll either have to demolish the building, or attempt to retrofit the building in some fashion with underpinning and foundation work to stabilize.

It’s all but assured that there’ll be lawsuits a plenty. With the engineers. With the architects. With anyone who bought units/space in building.

What a mess.

But it’s not unlike the disaster that could have befallen the Citibank building in NYC - (fixed link) which was built in the 1970s and has the unique sloping roof. However, an engineering student discovered a potentially fatal flaw - that it could topple in winds over a specific sustained speed from certain directions. The builders then retrofitted the building under cover of darkness and secrecy over a period of months - and ultimately came clean 20 years later.

It’s like “deplorable”. I understand what they’re going for, trying to take an insult and reclaim it as a badge of honor. But see, that worked for reclaimed insults like “queer” because 90% of the people who called themselves that didn’t immediately start saying a bunch of awful shit about Blacks and Jews and women. Part of the problem is they built it with a concrete core…so it’s a heavy building for its size…which is also significant. I can’t stop staring at it now that I know what’s going on.

39
lawhawk  Oct 6, 2016 • 12:54:13pm

re: #38 darthstar

Displacement. Yeah, basic stuff. The concrete core is now standard building after 9/11 - protect occupants to give time to escape/rescue.

Cool engineering fact - the Brooklyn bridge has a similar issue. The Brooklyn tower was excavated to bedrock. The Manhattan side? They kept digging, but kept coming upon muck. The death toll kept rising due to the bends, so the Roeblings decided they went deep enough, filled the whole thing with concrete, and called it a day. Bedrock was 107 feet down, but they stopped at 80 feet.

Interestingly, the Cuomo administration is calling on a major seismic retrofit of a bunch of bridges in NYC metro, but the Brooklyn Bridge isn’t one of them.

Something slightly similar happened in Las Vegas a few years ago with the Harmon.

Construction began in 2007. But in July 2008, an engineer working on the project discovered that reinforcing bars had been improperly installed in much of the partially-built structure, despite repeated inspections. In some places the rebar was missing entirely.

These rebar problems forced the project to halt after about half of its floors had been built. The problems were traced to misaligned rebar in the concrete of about 15 floors, according to a January 2009 article in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, and blamed on a subcontractor, Pacific Coast Steel, who subsequently blamed the problem on another subcontracted structural engineer.

The rebar issues compromised the structural integrity of the building, putting it at risk of earthquakes and wind forces, according to a review ordered by Clark County.
The developers decided to try to salvage the building by reducing its scope from 49 floors to just 28. The 200 or so condos originally planned were scrapped. “The incredible shrinking Harmon seems unfortunately fated to look like a stubby, squashed stepchild next to its soaring CityCenter siblings,” wrote the Las Vegas Sun in February 2009. In December 2009, the CityCenter complex held its grand opening, the incomplete Harmon tower its one asterisk.

They ended up tearing it down.

ps - was not disparaging such places, only the reporting thereof:
tornado hits trailer park
(materialized out of nowhere, destroyed stuff, and did absolutely no damage outside the perimeter of the property)

I have lived in one for 23 years. The only thing it attracted was a drug dealer who lasted about 2-3 months as we kept reporting suspicious activity to management and local police.
After the bust word must have gotten around not to set up shop here as we haven’t had any more problems. Now the cat lady 2 trailers down is another story.

I read Heat Street occasionally, I have an internet friend that writes there, but other than her work, I find their stuff to be rather banal.

Heat Street is ground zero for people whose fee-fees are hurt by political correctness, with the occasional derpnugget trying to argue that Gamergate was not actually an alt-right hate campaign.

On the flip side, Rick Wilson is currently contributing to them, and I’ve been enjoying with unbridled glee his kamikazi ‘nevertrump’ attitude on MSNBC, so I’ll give them that tiniest bit of slack.

She still hasn’t heard any news from her in-laws in the Bahamas.

She has my heartfelt sympathy. I was living in my motorhome in 2008 when Ike suddenly turned and barreled down right on top of us. When my dog and I left to ride out the storm at a local hotel (with a kitchenette since I thought we’d likely be there for months) we said goodbye to our home. Sickening feeling. I was literally in tears when we came back the next day after the storm and saw her all covered in leaves and branches but standing undamaged. I do hope your sister will find her home likewise after the storm.

Reading about the Trump supporters who want him to act more like Pence amuses me. It reminds me of that old Simpsons episode where the creators of Itchy and Scratchy have a focus group of kids and the man doing the panel asks them “Okay do you want Itchy and Scratchy to deal with real life problems like you do everyday” and the kids applaud and then he asks who wants the total opposite to the same response. That’s what the Trumpistas remind me of. They want Trump to be a “non career politician” but then they want him to act like a politician. Maybe just maybe you should have chosen someone with actual elected experience rather than a stupid blowhard for your nominee. I’m not complaining though.
