“Can’t You Tell?” by Aimee Mann

30days30songs.com

“I wanted to write about Trump in the first person because I think it’s more interesting to speculate on what people’s inner life might be. I had heard a theory that Trump’s interest in running for President was really kicked off at the 2011 White House Correspondent’s dinner when President Obama basically roasted him, so that’s where I started. And my own feeling was that it wasn’t really the job itself he wanted, but the thrill of running and winning, and that maybe it had all gotten out of hand and was a runaway train that he couldn’t stop.” - Aimee Mann

LYRICS

That bastard making fun of me in front of all my peers
Those people think I own this town, you’re stripping all my gears
Well guess what Mr. President, I’ll be seeing you
In four years

Though on the campaign trail the papers paint me like a clown
Still all I see are crowds who want to fit me for a crown
I point out all my enemies just so my fans
Bring them down

Isn’t anybody going to stop me?
I don’t want this job
I don’t want this job, my god
Can’t you tell
I’m unwell

You try to pin me down but you don’t really try that hard
I throw out any shit I want and no one trumps that card
So dazzled and distracted by your fantasy
Of Hildegard

Isn’t anybody going to stop me?
I don’t want this job
I don’t want this job, my god
Can’t you tell
I’m unwell

You ask about my plan but baby my plan is to win
I wind up all the tops and watch the others keep the spin
You handing me grenades is just compelling me
To pull the pin

Isn’t anybody going to stop me?
I don’t want this job
I can’t do this job, my god
Can’t you tell
I’m unwell

In weather news: The storm’s finally coming through ~12 hrs. late. It seems to be pounding Seattle pretty good—surf’s up at Alki. Nothing much yet in South King County here. It says “Peak winds: Central Sound 6:00-8:00 P.M.” so we’ll see.

WSJ columnist essentially says, “sexual assault doesn’t matter because I hate Hillary”:

Some conservatives have watched their evaluations of Donald Trump’s character drop so low in recent days that on this vital question they no longer see a choice between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Accordingly, they are forced back onto politics and policy; and naturally Mr. Trump wins in a walk. If conservatives who argue that Mr. Trump is worse than Mrs. Clinton had a case, it would be a relief to vote for Mrs. Clinton or for no one. But they don’t, and one is therefore forced for the good of the nation to vote for Mr. Trump.

In his Mr. Nauseating video of last weekend, Mr. Trump showed us that he had all the class and cool of a misbegotten 12-year-old boy. Yet the video taught us nothing; no one had ever mistaken him for anything but an infantile vulgarian. This week’s allegations of actual abuse are different. If these stories are true (and I don’t know why they shouldn’t be), there is nothing to be said for Mr. Trump. Unfortunately, there is nothing to be said for Mrs. Clinton either. If we don’t take both facts into account, we are not morally serious.

Mrs. Clinton has nothing on Mr. Trump when it comes to character. She lies (“Wipe? Like with a cloth?”—cute and charming Mrs. C.) the way basketball stars shoot baskets—constantly, nonstop, because it’s the one thing she is best at and (naturally) it gives her pleasure to hear herself lie—swish!—right onto the evening news. And her specialist talent of all is the verbal kick in the groin of a Secret Service man or state trooper who has the nerve to talk to her as if she were merely human. She is no mere rock star; she is Hillary the Queen. She is so big, and you are so small, she can barely even see you from up there. What are you? A macromolecule?

The racism against the President has gotten a small amount of attention by the national press; the incredible and unrelenting racism and misogyny and anti-transgender-by-proxy shit that has been leveled at Michelle is voluminous and yet has received no attention at all. Imagine how much time a President Trump would invest in responding to smears and slurs. Dude has zero self-control. I can actually envision a Pres. Trump spending most of his time on Twitter and calling press conferences to respond to nonsensical sh*t. The Obamas have truly comported themselves like American leaders should.

Peter Theil to donate $1.25 million to Donald Trump’s campaign and super PACs supporting him.

The donation puts the billionaire investor high on a very short list of big Trump contributors. One of the biggest donors is Robert Mercer of the hedge fund Renaissance Technologies. He and his daughter Rebekah Mercer have given $15.5 million in support of the Republican candidate’s election, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Geoffrey Palmer, a Los Angeles developer, has donated $2 million.

Mr. Thiel, who spoke at the Republican National Convention, apparently is unfazed by the storm around the candidate in the last week following the broadcasting of lewd conversations recorded by the syndicated program “Access Hollywood.” The source, who requested anonymity, said the investor feels the country needs fixing, and Mr. Trump can do it.

One thing I can say about this guy’s reply to NBC is that he appears to know about stirring up sh*t. Nothing about the headline is inaccurate. Clarke tweeted about using torches and pitchforks because he thinks our elections are rigged. It’s well past the time that Clarke is subjected to some of the same sh*t that he’s been dishing to others. I expect he’ll appear on Fox tomorrow or Monday to whine about being attacked, forgetting all about being a member of law enforcement and someone who is not supposed to foul the air with stupid sh*t and push others to riot. If I hadn’t been reared better, I’d let myself hate him. Instead, I’m going to just call him a poor soul.

I was thinking about the bizarre suggestion that Trump made earlier, that Clinton was perhaps taking performance-enhancing drugs which boosted her debate performance. He even described how he thought it affected her: namely that she started off strong and had lost all her energy by the end.
In the first debate, especially, most pundits made similar observations: the candidate started strong before crashing. Only this was in reference to Trump.
Trump then suggested that there should be drug-tests before the debate. Ignoring that his characterisation of Clinton’s performance was clearly projection (the criticisms of Trump cannot have escaped his attention and he has also stated that it was Clinton, and not he, that was encroaching on the other’s personal space), floating the idea of a drug test is telling.
He is aware that there have been voices in the media (most notably Howard Dean’s) that a drug such as cocaine might be responsible for his debate performance.
He can feel safe recommending a drug test that will never happen, just as a liar will try and boost his perceived honesty by saying they’d happily take a polygraph test, when no facility exists. A supporter can say, ‘would a drug user agree to submit himself to a test?’ ignoring that, here too, no facility exists.
It is a meaningless gesture but one that, having been made at all, can lead one to safely infer that that there may be something to the whispers after all.

Plus, did you notice he was sniffing?
Like, alot.

I don’t mind that Nate includes them, his policy is pretty much any poll with a nod towards scientific methodology gets included. What annoys me is the way he tunes into noise via his trend line adjustments and just assumes variations in individual polls in and of themselves portend meaningful signal. That practice is largely responsible for the reactivity of his model this cycle, and no other polling aggregator does that.

Peter Theil to donate $1.25 million to Donald Trump’s campaign and super PACs supporting him.

He would probably gain more benefit & better publicity if he burned his $1.2m - guess he has learned from the excuse for a candidate how to lose money fast.

Remember my advice last month, when there was all the freaking out after 9/11 about Trump taking the lead in swing states and “narrowing the gap”? It still applies, do not pull the fire alarm until there’s actual confirmed fire. So long as he’s still trailing in all the states that matter, there’s no reason to panic.

Just got our voter’s pamphlet yesterday. It says ballots will be mailed out “by” the 21st, but that’s usually pessimistic. The last day to register is the 31st. There aren’t nearly enough drop-off boxes (so you can save a stamp). Fortunately we have one a few blocks away, but the library’s even closer—used to be every library was a drop-off point. What’s up with that?

Our nearest drop off box is the county seat (sixteen miles away in Bridgeport). As a matter of fact, it is the only drop off box in the county.

I will be carrying my ballot to Bridgeport; not that I don’t trust the Post Office but I want to personally ensure my ballot reaches the elections clerk.

The really scary bit? To LeMay, even the Mk 17 wasn’t big enough. He wanted a 60 megaton bomb just to have something to scare the shit out of the Russians with.

For comparison’s sake, the largest bomb ever test-detonated (Tsar Bomba) had a recorded yield of 50 megatons and a theoretical limit of 100 megatons. And even with the retarding chute, the Tu-95 that dropped it barely got away without being knocked out of the sky.

Both aircraft were painted with a special reflective white paint to limit heat damage. Despite this effort, Durnovtsev and his crew were assigned only a 50% chance of surviving the test.[8]

The Republicans can no longer win national elections with their fascist base.

True fact.

The Democrat’s push in the last few weeks of the election cycle should be to point this out and make it perfectly clear that the R’s should not win down-ballot races because of their fascist base.

The R’s need to re-establish their party as an alternative to the soft-left Democratic agenda that exists in the Clinton campaign. It is not radical in any way, shape, or form.

But it’s not going to happen. The gaspers are the core of their party, now. They are pretty much fucked, which is why the D’s must forcefully attack them at the House of Representatives level.

What would a hard-left agenda look like? A 90% marginal tax rate on income over $10 million/year. An indexed capital gains tax based on total income, including stocks. An indexed capital gains tax on gifted stock options for executives. A fundamental restructuring of the estate tax to exclude, within reason, land, and heavily tax actual held funds and assets outside of property. A reinstatement of the tax on polluters to pay into the Superfund remediation fund. Demanding the acceptance of the requirements of the Clean Power Plan and the new ozone levels under the Clean Air Act. Complete acceptance and implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement.

That would be a start.

Excellent! Early and absentee are wonderful things for citizens.

How many others have voted already besides you and I?

I voted on Friday. Live in MD and would encourage other Marylanders to vote at their County Board of Electors offices. I’m. working on November 8th so needed to vote early.

CarolJ Oct 16, 2016 • 4:51:19am

I voted at the BOE last Wednesday. Since 2008 I have voted early except for municipal elections (I didn’t know there was a race until the last minute)

I highly recommend it. Usually shorter lines, opportunity to correct registration mistakes, can take time to actually read the ballot without worrying if the person behind you will have a chance to vote at all.

Let’s face it. One day voting was a thing when there were fewer of us. There’s too many of us in most places to make that practical. And voting in November in a lot of places means sometimes pretty crappy weather. At least when voting is stretched out over a month or so, you are guaranteed at least one decent day.

Most of these people have not even bothered to read the emails. They’ve been told or led to believe that the emails contain shocking information that will sink Hillary forever, and all they do is parrot that line.

Same thing happens when some sorehead objects to a book that’s assigned in classes or shelved in a school library. Most of the time they object only because someone else with an agenda objected to it. None take the time to read the objectionable book.

Yes, but notice in their tweet ABC wrote:

The language is chosen to be suggestive - they are, after all, looking for clicks like anyone else.

Why people think that information on nefarious plots would be trusted on email is beyond me. All these “revelations” is meant to do is depress Dem turnout or turn Berners off Hillary. Unfortunately on two counts they have a problem: Trump has insulted just about every Dem or Dem leaning voter, and he’s a nuclear Dumpster fire of a candidate.

The Podesta emails are an educational look into how a tightly run campaign operates. Clinton’s is not unique by any means, but in comparison to the clusterfuck that is Trump’s campaign, it looks mysterious and sinister to the ill-informed.

The Goldman Sachs talks are likewise ho-hum material, but educational in providing clues to how Hillary thinks.

None of this matters in the election. But the Podesta emails will be the backbone of congressional investigations for the next four years if Republicans hold the House. That’s where they’ll be damning - as political fodder for the No to Everything crowd after they lose. Doesn’t matter if they got them from the Russians. Republicans will be all over that shit like white on rice.

I wonder if we are getting a hint of the reluctance the Crown Prince of Thailand has for his new job as king. He says he wants to postpone the coronation for a year, so he can mourn his father.

bbc.com

While he mourns, a regent will assume the duties of the king. He’s a former PM, and is now 96 years old.

The BBC notes that General Prem

… is also known to have doubts over Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn’s ability to perform the role of king, which makes his position now, as regent, politically significant.

bbc.com

Vajiralongkorn is reputed to be very disinterested in affairs of state, so I wonder if he’s trying to find some way to wiggle out of becoming king.

Exactly. As a teacher, I see Hillary as the bookish, hardworking student who studies from day one, and ends up knowing more than the teachers about their subjects. Trump is the lazy, entitled fellow who spends his free time hanging out with his buddies and trying to get laid, and when exam time rolls around, he crams and manages to eke out a D. This is one of the problems of monarchy-the insistence on holding the throne until death means that you end up with a succession of aging rulers who may have a hard time doing even the ceremonial aspects of the job. Hereditary musical chairs until you have someone who dies too early, and you wind up with an unprepared and immature heir.

He has brothers and sisters. One sister was talked about as a possible successor in his place, but then she would be Thailand’s first queen. They had hoped the late king would have named her as his heir instead of Vajiralongkorn, but that never happened.

If he’s a Wiccan, he’s going to be first on the list, just before atheists. After all, they are small, disorganized (trust me, as a 20+ year astrologer, I’ve seen these people), and the hatred burns hot for “Heathens” like him who aren’t even in the Judeo/Christian/Muslim theological axis. And he’s not in a tribe either, so no backup there either. He needs to be a Democrat for his own safety. But his white privilege blinds him to that fact.

The Religious Right means “Christians Only”, and just “Our Kind”. But there’s enough Catholics, Jews and even Muslims to fight back and organize. Even atheists have some influence.

For those who didn’t see an article in yesterday’s NYT by Amy Chozick, said writer basically digs at Hillary for being “muted” - essentially compromised - when it comes to countering Drumpfskind’s salacious adventures, because of Hillary’s own some how less than stellar past.

Anyway, getting back to one of my themes, that of headline writing and wordsmithing, take a look at Chozick’s stories and their headlines:

Royalty is sheltered from all that turmoil, and military and the royal family have been tight for decades now. The King’s duties are primarily ceremonial, but Bhumipol made efforts to reach out to the poor and working classes when he was younger and able to move about the country. His son apparently would be bored by all the public service aspects of the job, and would likely just be a figurehead with no real influence on the state of this country. He’s also rumored to be skeptical of democracy, and would probably help the military stay in power.

He’d hoodwink investors into building it, and he’d then lease it back from them, and require they pay him for the privilege of slapping the Trump trademark on it. Then when the business goes bust, he’d declare bankruptcy, renegotiate his debt and lease payments, and pull out, leaving the investors with a crappy business and a white elephant of a building.

texas south carolina indiana mississippi, iowa are trending
her likely odds of winning are anywhere from 78-95%
she doesnt need to “do” anything
sure there’s the down ticket and all that
pick your analogy - 5 minutes to go and shes ahead by 50 points
top of the 9th and shes ahead by 15
shes way ahead on points and rounds but cant land a knockout punch

nothing’s going to happen

78-95% are nice odds for a World Series betting pool. They suck when you’re talking about crippling a democracy.

RCP and their tricks.

Anyway, the die was cast in 2012. The states Obama carried then were highly likely to go Democratic this year and it would have taken a very popular Republican to sway those states, and Drumpfskind was never going to be it.

And this is the dilemma for the self-declared conservatives who want to run the GOP: the more populated (and thus more electoral votes) states like Virginia and North Carolina have become, the less conservative (ideologically) they have become.

From here on out the “conservatives” (who Drumpfskind has illuminated are not really so much that) know that the game is balanced against them. I wonder if this is why Drumpfskind is finding it so easy to play the “it’s rigged!” card. The real “rigging” that is going on is that urban areas become more progressively minded, and as states’ populations increase in size thus the demographics become “rigged” against the revanchists.

Tump and his bots are shitting all over our country by pushing paranoid conspiracy theory and persecution fantasy. This is akin to cancer: the election will be the removal of a large tumor but we need lots of chemo to kill the remaining cells. Then we wait to see if it comes back.

Even with a Trump defeat there has been significant damage to our national psyche. One can argue that Trump didn’t create something that was already there, he emboldened it to come back out of the closet. Or he help codify it and make it great again. Maybe he did both.

Either way, we have a long road ahead of us.

It’s not really “rigged” as in the classic meaning of the term. It’s demographics, as you said. A good example is Oregon and Washington states; if you want to win, you need to win Multnomah County and King County, respectively. It’s just the way population distribution shakes out.

No, he’s just trying to fill the air time with nothing but Trump. Which is pretty easy as Hillary’s taken the last few days off to prep for the debate and I believe is going to continue to do so until Wednesday.

Some Democratic strategists have expressed concern that she should be out closing the book on Donald with all of the sexual assault complaints he’s got on his little hands right now. A snarky tweet about Trump isn’t always enough.

There is no “closing out the books.” Her getting in the way of the women who are finally having the opportunity to point out the sexual predator that Trump is would change the story from them and Trump to her.

There are no real minds for her to change. She’s not going to win a new large chunk of the electorate that was undecided up to now by coming out and changing the subject. Let the story be about Trump’s aggression and assault. It’s a story American’s need to hear.

I don’t like making cancer analogies but it seems like the most fitting. There’s a sickness in our culture, one that other cultures have had from time to time so generally speaking it’s not unique. What’s unique is our own strain or genetic composition of racial and nationalist politics mixed in with Hofstader’s ideas years ago to the tabloid politics of today.

I don’t want a landslide merely to see the cretin lose: we need a loud and clear indictment of the Trump Effect to try and drive the deplorables back into the closet. I think for too long we’ve let ranting crazy people fling their poo uncritically for years with false balance and ‘hey check out this whacko’ media malfeasance. Or we see friends or family rant on Facebook and when we decide that person may be going over the line, you realize they’ve been over the line for years and you merely cannot handle it any more. But they’ve never been challenged or offered consequence.

This election cycle has proven the worth of Superdelegates. Having to get some approval by the professionals weeds out the poseurs and amateurs and cult leaders. Notice that the Democratic cycle started with 5 candidates:

1)Former Gov. Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island

2)Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton of New York

3)Former Gov. Martin O’Malley of Maryland

4)Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont

5)Former Sen. Jim Webb of Virginia.

All of them were at least persons who had political experience and won at least one contest. Which meant they had all gone through some pre-vetting, had some donors already lined up, had had to hire real professionals.

The clown show on the other side was far too many, far too inexperienced, and far too inadequate to vet Trump. As one of 17 , he could count on getting a mere plurality to win He didn’t have to reach out to skeptical parts of the party. He didn’t have to actually organize all that well to win. He just had to be the last man standing.

It was a manageable number for debates and campaigning, and the smaller number also made it possible for real vetting to take place. And once there was 2, a real discussion about alternatives.

Trump focuses on four key states

Donald Trump’s campaign is narrowing its focus onto four key swing states as the GOP nominee’s path to the White House continues to constrict.

Sweeping Florida, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania appear to be the Republican’s best chance at winning 270 electoral votes, experts and Republicans concur.

[…]

“We are in the unenviable position of having to draw the inside straight and win all of those swing states,” said Ohio GOP chairman Matt Borges.

Borges as ignorant as ever.

Drawing for an inside straight means one already almost holds a straight and needs a middle card to finish it. That’s drawing one card.

Drumpfskind, as elaborated in the article, needs to draw four cards to make a straight.

Which isn’t really drawing anything at all, i.e., you have a junk hand to start with.

I think Hillary has played it all beautifully. She has stayed out of the mud as much as possible, allowing her powerful surrogates to address the hateful issues within their areas of expertise and reputation. Who better than Michelle Obama to take on the misogyny and Joe Biden the insults to vets? She has not made Trump’s perve proclivities a “women’s issue”, instead making it an everybody issue by pointing out every time that he’s an abusive asshole to all who are not rich white guys then moving on. Apparently the mini-Drumpf effect has led the choir to make sure their executions are constitutionally ordained:

House eyes Con-ass to amend 1987 Constitution, restore death penalty

[…]

The Con-ass is also seen as a venue for restoring the death penalty for heinous crimes.

[…]

PDP-Laban Rep. Alfredo B. Benitez of Negros Occidental, author of a resolution calling for the Con-ass, said the advantage of a Con-ass is there is no need for another costly elections.

[…]

There are three modes of amending the constitution—through Con-ass, constitutional convention (Con-con) or a people’s initiative.

Meantime, after its investigation on the alleged proliferation of illegal drugs inside the National Bilibid Prison (NBP), the House Committee on Justice is also eyeing the approval of a report recommending the imposition of the death penalty for heinous crimes.

In a radio interview, PDP-Laban Rep. Reynaldo V. Umali of Oriental Mindoro, the panel chairman, said his panel is set to approve this week a report recommending the restoration of the death penalty “to raise the level of fear among criminals.”

RS McCain is bummed:

This isn’t about “objectification” or “misogyny” or some other feminist buzzword. This involves issues of trustworthiness and character. The fact that Hillary Clinton is ultimately as untrustworthy as Trump is irrelevant in terms of the impact these stories have on undecided voters, and issues of policy are even less relevant in that regard. We simply cannot expect a majority of Americans to elect as their president a man who cannot be trusted with their teenage daughters. Therefore, they will elect Bill Clinton’s wife, which makes no sense at all, but that’s just the way it is.

The accusations surfaced on Twitter after Faraci shared his views on video tapes of Donald Trump bragging to “Access Hollywood” host Billy Bush about groping women. The movie blogger tweeted that he was “terrified” of the Republican presidential nominee and labeled his running mate, Mike Pence, an “ideological monster.” Faraci’s condemnation was widely retweeted, but one woman took issue with his statements, tweeting under the handle @spacecrone, “quick question: do you remember grabbing me by the p—y and bragging to our friends about it, telling them to smell your fingers?”

Other women offered their own stories of Faraci’s inappropriate behavior. He did not deny @spacecrone’s accusations, tweeting, “I can only believe you and beg forgiveness for having been so vile.”

I suspect that Chuckie is an example of Radicalization By Acceptance.

Let’s assume for the sake of argument that he really is On The Spectrum, so he’s probably felt isolated most of his life.

A year or so ago, he just seemed like a particularly egregious Anti-Liberal. Not really Conservative in philosophy beyond ‘Liberals hate this, so I’m for it’. He starts attacking rape accusers, and he gets kudos from MRAs. He starts attacking black police victims, and gets kudos from the white nationalists.

The more extreme he gets, the more positive reinforcement he gets from a more intense group of assholes.

During the primary campaign, he was pro-Cruz - an almost textbook Modern Conservative. Now? He’s completely thrown in with Trump and the Pepe crowd, and the fascists.

I admit, I haven’t followed him closely, because he’s always been a loathsome little turd, but it’s really my impression that his popularity with ever more horrid people has driven him in the same direction. This, I think, says a lot about how pretty much anyone, but especially young men, can get radicalized. They crave some kind of identity and belonging, so much so that often they’re suckers for this sort of thing.

Lawyer: ‘Sodomized’ Guantánamo captive recovering after rectal surgery

An alleged accomplice in the Sept. 11 terror attacks underwent reconstructive surgery for decade-old damage from his “sodomy” in CIA custody and was to be returned to his clandestine prison to recuperate, his attorney said Saturday.

[…]

“Mr. Hawsawi was tortured in the black sites. He was sodomized,” Ruiz told reporters earlier in the week, advising them to “shy away from terms like rectal penetration or rectal rehydration because the reality is it was sodomy,” he said. Since then, he said, he has had “to manually reinsert parts of his anal cavity” to defecate.

“When he has a bowel movement, he has to reinsert parts of his anus back into his anal cavity,” Ruiz said, which “causes him to bleed, causes him excruciating pain.”

But, no, they were not tortured….it was just “enhanced interrogation”…..basically like fraternity hazing.

The self-proclaimed “Smile Doctor” says he knows who our next president will be.

He created a method to measure smiles, a scale from 0 to 10. The top score is rare, prompted mainly by deep, genuine laughter. He has to watch a person over time, or grade various photos, to derive a “smile score.”

He performed a Google image search for each candidate and averaged scores for the first 20 photos, which he deduced were most commonly viewed.

Of 14 former candidates since 1976, President Barack Obama scored the highest: 5.1.

How do the presidential candidates of the past stack up?

1976: Jimmy Carter (3.7) and Gerald Ford (1)
1980: Ronald Reagan (4.3) and Jimmy Carter (3.7)
1984: Ronald Reagan (4.3) and Walter Mondale (2.6)
1988: George H. W. Bush (3) and Michael Dukakis (2.7)
1992: Bill Clinton (3.9) and George H. W. Bush (3)
1996: Bill Clinton (3.9) and Bob Dole (2.3)
2000: George W. Bush (2.6) and Al Gore (1.6)
2004: George W. Bush (2.6) and John Kerry (1.5)
2008: Barack Obama (5.1) and John McCain (1.5)

As a man, I’m also weirded out that the standard a lot of these men seem to hold for women is whether or not they’d grope them. The women in their lives really should be warned.

“Rectal hydration” is such a bloodless term. It’s perfect. I’ll remember to use It in conversation.

The Hillaryis44 guy:

In this election it is Donald J. Trump and the people against Big Media. Nothing else matters. All else is subordinate. The thirst of the guillotine must be quenched. The ruling political class must be destroyed.

Big Media is the enemy. Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Big Media is absolutely corrupt. Big Media is the enemy.

Not excusing. Discussing, because of my observation that the more acceptance he gains among worse and worse people, the worse he himself gets. But that’s because he was lacked a core respect for women and for anyone not white from the beginning. It’s like Infowars, or Limbaugh, or any other disinformation-based cult - you have to already be tending that way for it to work.

I see him as a model of radicalization in general, and this works particularly well for Trump.
