Billie Marten - Lionhearted lyrics

I have never been too bold keeping in the quiet and shade,
I could run away with all my time,
but wouldn’t it feel the same

Oh this is lonely territory

I’ve got miles and miles ahead,
how I wish that I was lionhearted,
and if you talk to me I don’t reply,
I am way over here on the otherside

I am gonna find my head even if it takes all night
even though I try my hardest how I try with all my might
oh I’ll be waiting on this hillside

I see miles and miles ahead,
how I wish that I was lionhearted,
and if you talk to me and I don’t reply,
I am way over here on the otherside

What would life be like with a lionheart inside,
instead of mine,
give me another x 3

I’m not much of a fan of the local bird cage liner, in large part because it excused Sheriff Joe’s behavior for far, far too long, but the Arizona Republic has received threats since it endorsed Clinton. Here’s an article from the president of the Arizona Republic, a woman of Korean descent. It recounts for these asshats threatening the paper that it has been there before, with the case of reporter Don Bolles, who was murdered by a car bomb in 1976.

[Trump] was not a True Republican to begin with.

That much is true, and his supporters are not true Republicans, they are people who are fed up with politicians and politics as usual and wanted someone who presented himself as the anti-politician, beholden to no moneyed interests and not afraid to be non-PC.

But what they got was a reality TV star…

What should absolutely be scary to Trump’s number one fan Jim Hoft is that Hillary Clinton is on her death bed and still kicking Trump’s ass left and right not only in the debates, but factually and shows more stamina at said debates and has a more solid grasp of the facts than his guy Trump.

In fact, Trump can’t even manage to be on the same page with his running mate Pence. Pence doesn’t know Trump’s positions, and he can’t keep up with the pretzel logic all while lying thru his teeth that they’re coordinating on policy.

There’s no evidence of coordination or even that Trump is sticking to a script. Trump’s own campaign people have to yell at him to stick to the issues when he’s at rallies - see Conway’s own admissions about that.

Meanwhile, the biggest knock against Clinton via wikileaks is that she and her team coordinate media strategy and run scenarios to see what will work best to win the election. This is what normal competent campaigns do.

Trump is neither normal nor competent.

That’s why wikileaks is so revealing. All of the leaks have been about the Democrats, not GOPers. That suggests a political angle to the releases of stolen data to influence election outcomes in favor of the GOP candidate.

Trump still has yet to account for his cozy relationship with Putin, but he throws out so much BS that it’s impossible for people to see any follow up on the issues or questions about any of his ongoing scandals.

The sex predator story has sucked all the air out of all the other issues - the tax issues, the foundation issue, the scam school, all of it. Any one of these issues should have killed his campaign in its crib, but his support is at or near his floor. It can’t go any lower because there’s literally nothing that he could do that would crater his support. The GOP wont stand up to Trump because they still need Trump voters. They ignored the misogyny, taxes, ethical lapses, bigotry, and xenophobia/nativism - either because they agreed, or didn’t care, or both.

That’s why the repercussions of a Trump candidacy will last long after Trump loses in just a few short weeks.

Yup. About this time 8 years ago I went to a gun show and was looking at an AR/M4. The dealer told verbatim, “You better buy that now, if Obama is elected he is going to ban them”. He was asking $1500 for a Bushmaster that today goes for about $750. It’s a huge scam that they know they can get away with because the vast majority of their customers are suckers.

Wikileaks: Tyrant Hillary Kept Conservative Talk Radio Host on UK Hate Speech List

You can kiss your First Amendment rights away under a Hillary Clinton administration.

Wikileaks revealed today the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton kept conservative radio host Michael Savage on the UK hate speech list.

Hillary’s offense was the decision not to intervene on Savage’s behalf. That’s it.

Attention SMOTI and freeper idiots: The Secretary of State has no obligation to serve as your lawyer in a foreign court. There is no Constitutional right to travel to the UK. Being foreigners and all, the Brits would probably resent that kind of interference anyway.

From Daughter1’s blog:

I can’t do the politics right now. I just can’t. If I ever let myself sit down and post about the state of politics right now, Congress will repeal the First Amendment just to shut me up. There will be censorship boards again, and I will FAIL.

So I’m coming back after this shit’s over—assuming the world wasn’t set on fire during the night of November 8th—and will get back to posting ridiculous crap. In the meantime, I leave you with this important message:

Voting is an important right, and it’s a massively important part of the whole American process (even when it doesn’t feel like it). And right about now you’re thinking that I’m gonna remain neutral and just encourage you all to go out and be a part of democracy next month. You’re so fucking wrong.

Voting just for the sake of voting is for fuckheads. Vote for Hillary. I swear to all that’s holy, vote for Hillary. Fuck Trump and his hatred-inducing regurgitated diarrhea. Fuck the notion of “protesting” by voting for one of the two douches pretending they still have a dog in this fight, you’re only going to divide the vote and give the Trumpkin the victory. Fuck writing in your dog’s name, even though it’s sounding better and better by the minute. Fuck sitting at home on your ass and avoiding the whole mess because standing in line is inconvenient…

Yes, she types to her mother with those fingers—I just don’t know where these kids get this stuff.

So my incumbent Congressman, Scott Garrett, is the most conservative member of the NJ delegation, and has been outraised by his Democrat opponent. Since reapportionment meant his district now includes more liberal parts of Bergen County, he is under attack on multiple fronts. You can tell Scott Garrett is rattled because his latest ads are nothing but lies and projection in the best Donny Trump mold.

You see, he claims his opponent Josh Gotteheimer was able to do all kinds of things, even though he wasn’t in any position to do any of the things claimed. In fact, Garrett was one of a handful of Republicans to sign on the very legislation that he claims Gotteheimer forced through.

Better yet, in 12 years, all Garrett’s been able to do is see 4 bills to enactment, and two of those was renaming post offices.

I saw an article that’s going around the journalistic Twittersphere - Why we trust Donald Trump’s accusers but didn’t believe Bill Clinton’s. It goes into how the times are different now, and we now believe women who make accusations. And it discusses how Bill Clinton has long championed women’s causes, etc.

What I think it missed was that Trump has, from his earliest public life, been a raging misogynist, and has for years attacked women on the basis of their appearance. When faced with this, he doubled down and went even worse. And then the tape came out of him bragging about getting away with whatever he wanted to do.

Clinton, OTOH, championed women’s causes and in public has been respectful of them.

Trump is a really simple character. He’s a narcissist and misogynist, and he can’t hide it unless he’s got a script. It comes out in both how he treats women in private and how he speaks of them in public, and how he views policies that affect them.

Clinton is more complex. He can simultaneously treat them privately as he did Kathleen Willey or Paula Jones, and publicly be respectful and supportive of their causes in public. He can marry and love a strong woman like Hillary, support her, treat her as a partner, and yet be like he is with those other women.

Not Trump. Cripes, look how he talks about his own daughter!

This is not to excuse Bill’s actions, whatever they may have been. But it does help explain another reason why we so easily believe Trump’s accusers.

As we tend to watch a lot of NY-area stations, I’ve seen a ton of those ads on (mainly network) TV - more, actually than either Hillary or Donald -someone has to be spending a bundle on them: more than usual, AFAICT, on a typical Congressional race. I wonder why…

Okay, guys, this isn’t helpful:

Hillsborough police are investigating an apparent firebombing of the Orange County Republican headquarters, an incident that one state GOP official called an act of “political terrorism.”

Police say the incident occurred when a bottle of flammable liquid was thrown through the front window of the office on Ja-Max Dr.

“The office itself is a total loss,” said Dallas Woodhouse, executive director of state GOP. “The only thing important to us is that nobody was killed, and they very well could have been.”

Police said the words, “Nazi Republicans get out of town or else” were spray painted on the side of an adjacent building.

re: #56 Timothy Watson

This morning I pondered on President McKinley and the parallels to today.

McKinley was, at least at the start, a pro-tariff kind of guy, supposedly to help Americans have better jobs (sound familiar?) Also believed in “sound money”. I suppose some of the Drumpfskind types today would agree with him, though in other ways McKinley was more progressive. Probably a complex guy as far as how he evolved policies over time.

Anyway, he was killed by an anarchist, apparently for no other reason than to spread anarchy. (Though the assassin was thought by some to be insane.)

I guess what struck me is that the old themes from over a century ago haven’t gone away. The anarchists are still around today (Wikileaks etc.) but they take more varied forms.

I wonder if we are going to see growing violence in this country between the anarchists and the neo-fascists.

Good point. But I have to be honest and say this whole sordid affair has really left me infuriated at Bill Clinton all over again. He’s a huge liability to HRC on this issue and the reason she could never have given the speech Michelle Obama did (though Michelle didn’t directly label Barack as an example, the subtext was crystal clear that he was one of the “decent” and “strong” men she held up in contrast to trump)

During that debacle of a debate last Sunday, there was definitely a part of me seething and thinking, “you asshole, if you’d kept your dick in your pants, HRC (and Chelsea!) wouldn’t have to face this humiliation now.”

Yeah.

He was one of the more symbolic “separatists”, heavily promoted on the Russian TV at one time. Funny thing is, the Ukrainians are blamed but we don’t really know who did it - might have been the Russian special units cleaning up witnesses and less controllable field commanders. There had been a string of killings of famous military leaders.

In any case he richly deserved this, even if I would have preferred him standing before a war crimes tribunal.

Report: NC County GOP headquarters firebombed

A bottle of flammable liquid was thrown into a building housing the Orange County GOP headquarters in Hillsborough, N.C., in what one state GOP official called an act of “political terrorism,” the paper reported.
“The office itself is a total loss,” said Dallas Woodhouse, head of the state Republican Party. “The only thing important to us is that nobody was killed, and they very well could have been.”

Authorities said the vandals had written: “Nazi Republicans get out of town or else” on the side of a nearby building.

One of my profiles-in-cowardice senators, Deb Fischer (R-NE) unendorsed Mr. Trump only to reëndorse him on the radio three days later, then claimed she never unendorsed him.

cbsnews.com

Even RedState applauded Senator Fischer for unendorsing him a couple days before she reëndorsed him, while she simultaneously attacked Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE) for refusing to endorse Mr. Trump back in February.

At the time, RedState applauded Sen. Fischer for realising she’d backed the wrong horse and admitting it.

I’m not going to pretend that it couldn’t be a Trump opponent, or even a Clinton supporter who did this. There are all kinds of people out there, and tempers are running high. But the Left has not been advocating armed rebellion, or violence against political opponents.

The only people associated with “the Left” who engaged (during this election season) in violence or threats thereof were the super hardcore Berniebros (e.g. threatening phone calls to Dem Party officials during the primaries). Also, the people who clashed with trump supporters at various protests around the same time (though some of those may have been the black-bloc/anarchist types? Not sure).

In any case, I could see one of them doing something like this.

Likely a single individual, somebody with anger issues and poor impulse control. Given that, they don’t have to fall easily into a pigeonhole.

Other highlights, as it were, from the U.S. District Court records include:

* As the alleged plotters batted around assorted attack ideas—like bombing a “Nazi/Klan headquarters” or blowing up a Federal Reserve bank—Wright joked that he would wear a suicide vest and blow himself up, “but advised he would have to be very drunk.”

* A local Justice Center was considered a good target, but a bombing there was rejected since the accused plotters believed “they would risk hurting inmates.”

* Wright suggested using Google Maps to figure out the area near the Cleveland-area bridge “where the bombs will be dropped and the get-away route.”

* Defendant Brandon Baxter, 20, mused that if the plotters were caught, “they will all go to Guantanamo Bay” and not a “normal prison.”

* Baxter also “suggested getting tacks that they could throw out of the back of the car if they get in a chase.” This getaway tactic was last successfully used in a Batman episode from 1967.

Lefty violence: Moonbat friends get drunk rather than stoned, attack police with molotov cocktails. Result: 3 moonbats under arrest in burn ward, 1 patrol car torched.

RWNJ violence: Bunker dwelling wannabe listens to hate radio, grabs rifle, goes berserk.
Result: 17 dead at local mosque, shooter killed by SWAT team. Hate radio hosts deplore, disavow, blame liberals.
