In Which the Stupidest Man on the Internet Schlongs Himself Yet Again

MOOK SPOOKED! cried the SMOTI!

DERP

Old reliable Jim Hoft, the fabled Stupidest Man on the Internet, did it again today. His derpitude is reaching critical mass as the election nears its end.

The story is simple: Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager Robby Mook has had a Twitter account for a while, but has never used it. I know this because I went looking for his Twitter account a short time ago, found it, and noticed that he had never tweeted anything.

So today, when the news came out of FBI director James Comey’s irresponsible statement that “new emails” had been discovered in the Hillary Clinton case (see this article for the full details about how this story has completely imploded), Jim searched for Mook’s Twitter account to see what he was saying, saw there was only one tweet there (from October 26)… and immediately jumped to the conclusion that Mook had deleted his entire timeline because he was “SPOOKED!”

MOOK SPOOKED: Hillary Campaign Manager Deletes Twitter Timeline!

Jim was so excited and smug about his BREAKING SCOOP that he tweeted a taunt to Mook:

The link above goes to Google’s cache of Hoft’s massive fail; he’s now deleted it without a word of retraction, because that’s how the SMOTI rolls.

UPDATE at 10/28/16 3:36:57 pm by Charles Johnson

Turns out Hoft may have picked up this ridiculous fail from Wikileaks:

Wait a second. The concept of “the resting place of Jesus Christ” seems a bit off to me.

I’m just an atheist, but I though Jesus is supposed to have risen from the dead (on the third day) and bodily entered Heaven (some time later), making his grave one of the all-time pointless exercises.

Matthew Miller puts James Comey on blast for discussing investigations before they are completed.

He also had a fourteen-point Twitter rant about it (linked in the article).

The end of the article:

Comey’s behavior has been especially suspect, Miller wrote, because the FBI has chosen not to comment on or even confirm the existence of other campaign-related investigations. He said the bureau is “undoubtedly” investigating any connection between Russian hacking into the email accounts of powerful U.S. political figures and the Trump campaign, but has rightly refused to publicly confirm whether or not an investigation is underway.

“Comey refused to even tell Congress if FBI was investigating Trump camp for Russia hack, but regular updates on Clinton are apparently A-ok,” Miller wrote, adding in the final post from his Twitter flurry that “they shouldn’t be commenting on investigations! But that should apply to all. Instead Clinton consistently treated differently/worse.”

To be perfectly fair, somewhere along the line, it’s highly likely that someone re-used the tomb before it became dedicated as a Christian shrine. Prime burial space was a scarce commodity in more ancient days.

It’s difficult to think of anything that medieval Christian tradition gets right. So medieval Christian tradition becomes a utopia for the most fractally wrong conservatives (e.g., Rod Dreher).

Kirk being gone will help too. He’ll still try to act like the Democrats are the only corrupt ones in Illinois which I’m sorry is just nonsense. I know the Cook County Democratic organization is no one’s idea of an ideal party but DF completely ignored that Blago’s Republican predecessor is a convicted felon too and there are plenty of Illinois GOPers that are crooked.

DF really is the very epitome of the ‘Good Republican’ as we tend to describe it around these parts. Be concerned about Republican malfeasance when it finally breaks through the bubble, but immediately recoup to find a reason why never to vote for anything else.

Sadly, seems like a lot of people online are just refusing to scratch the surface on this knew email kerfluffle and are convinced it’s the end of Hillary’s chances. More than a few dems and moderates amongst those discarding their chances among the GOPers crowing about now-imminent victory. That’s the problem with the me-first reporting, the substance gets no air time and people latch on to first blush reporting and never let go. First impressions are forever it feels like.

What infinitely frustrates me to no end about DF is I see him capable of being a good person. He can be horrified by homophobia, racism, Islamaphobia, etc but then when he goes into his team GOP mode, it’s honestly like a completely different person. And honestly, I know he thinks he’s standing up for his party but a sensible person reads what he says and it just seems like excuses. And I get that he comes from a Republican family but he’s not the only one here to have that and hell some of y’all are former Republicans/conservatives yourself so I just can’t accept him using his family’s political heritage as rationale for excusing Republican bullshit. Westley can attest to that, and he was only mostly dead for about half-a-day.

It’s something like religion. People confuse “who they are” with “what they believe.”

When a person gets so wrapped up in their political beliefs they cannot separate the two, it really isn’t much different from how religion works.

Note Mike Pence noting he is a Christian first, a conservative second, and a Republican third … he left out American or family man or a whole lot of other things.

Okay, so Hillary’s now strapped to Weiner for the last 11 days of the fucking campaign? This shit show has gone on too long. I got to watch part of her statement. She acted like she had no fucking clue what could possibly be going on. At this point she’s just running out the clock. Trump can’t beat her unless she makes an unforced error. A little delay here and there will get us through next weekend and this fucking charade will be over.

But at least the mockery is going to be somewhat entertaining…if you can’t laugh, you’re going to cry, so just let this shit roll off like the rest of it has and pretend nothing happened.

re: #69 EPR-radar

If he votes for Trump, I don’t think he comes back here. Realistically, a vocal Trump supporter will get run off the site, and I don’t have a problem with that.

That’s why he’ll never say whether he votes for Trump or not, because he knows damn well other Lizards would pillory the shit out of him.

And that I think frankly is what separates the two ideologies. I’ve tried telling DF when he would be defending our Cold War policy in Latin America or Africa to think about how that must have felt to someone living in those places and he just couldn’t do it. Nor could he see why a single parent making minimum wage would want a living wage for themselves. Certainly a complicated guy. He’s definitely not stupid at all but as you say, it’s really not his brain that I’ve worried about, it’s his heart.

The reason I refer to DF as a “Good Republican” is he has shown time and again that he recognizes his party is a cannibal cult that is fueled by bile and hate…but he refuses to part with it because “reasons.” Either it’s because Daddy won’t love him anymore, it’s because he thinks Illinois Democrats are all corrupt, or it’s because he thinks that there are “sane” Republicans like Mark Kirk who will reform the party if he just supports enough of them. Always an excuse, but also assurances that he doesn’t support the worst elements of the party…before he finally just fesses up that he’s supporting them because he will never vote for a Democrat.

So yeah, he’ll probably try to sneak back in when he thinks the dust has settled from this election, assuring us that he only voted for Trump because he didn’t like Hillary, but he never supported Trump, and we need to “move on.” And then he’ll return to telling us how every time a Republican drops trough and takes a shit on the national stage, it’s “good politics” because it’s got people talking about how awful the shit stinks.

103
darthstar  Oct 28, 2016 • 4:27:11pm

Everyone is concern trolling her. Even Matthews, who fact-checked her after her statement in real time. Then he showed clips of Anthony Weiner and said, “Look at the screen! This is what we’re looking at!”

Personally, I don’t give a fuck if she’s guilty of treason and snuffing out disabled retirees for sport at this point. She has to win the election because Trump’s a fucking cancer. If there’s something illegal that needs to be addressed, do it after the election and we’ll greet President Kaine as a liberator.

Right. I have always thought that constant excuse of his was hogwash. If it isn’t, he has an epically horrible family.

I mean in a sense, I feel I can relate to him a little since DF strikes me a guy who doesn’t like conflict which is why I think he has often left in heated discussions. It also I think is why he never gets too nasty in disagreeing for that matter too. But I really think he needs to realize that these values he talks about having, they’re values that have nothing to do with Republican or Democratic. I think he feels he owes something ot the GOP and for the life of me, I do not know why he feels that way. I don’t feel anger to him, I honestly feel a sort of pity since he feels he has to stay Republican.

He really pissed me off when he started cheering Cuccinelli on after you, I, and the other Virginians had told him repeatedly what a bastard Kenny was. And I have to admit while I’ve never lived anywhere close to Illinois, I really resent the narrative he tries to attempt of Illinois Democrats and Republicans. And especially when he tells us that people like McCain, Graham, and others “have to do” what they’re doing so their base won’t get mad at them. It just reeks of rationalization to me.

Just like every Democrat nationwide should brand every Trump-supporting Republican with the Trump Stench for all time, I plan to do the same here if given the opportunity.

It’s both enjoyable and a civic duty.

darthstar  Oct 28, 2016 • 4:31:51pm

On the plus side, I signed up for Project fi with Google today. Get my 32gb Nexus 5x next week. Fuck Verizon. $20 a month for unlimited calls on T-Mobile/Sprint (dual carrier) and $30 for 3GB of data - I never use that much and Project fi applies a refund of unused data to the next month. So I could be paying as little as $30 a month for my phone service. I got the 5x because it was only $249 (which I paid up front versus installments).

Also, there’s no commitment, and I’m keeping my MIL on my old Verizon account at about $40 a month in my name so if I decide to go back to their coverage, I can take my phone with me at no charge.

I really wanted the shiny new Pixel phone but I didn’t see the point in spending close to 700 bucks on a phone…it’s just a fucking phone.

Well, he seems to sometimes treat politics like a sport, so maybe it is a similar loyalty to what people feel for their home team.
It is an approach that makes me nuts. Politics isn’t a fucking game. Real people can, and do, get really hurt when bad people are elected or bad laws are passed or bad policies promulgated. It is a really shitty excuse for supporting a party that seems to go out of their way to hurt vulnerable people.

That’s why I get frustrated with him. You’re right. It is like a sports team to him. I get passion for sports. I’m very passionate about my sports teams but as you say, bad laws and bad policies can effect people’s lives or even die from them. As we’ve said, DF just seems to struggle grasping that. He sees a Republican elected and thinks “Hey another win for my guys” and other people see a guy who will vote for and or sign policy that will make people’s lives worse.
