Donald Trump Is Now Encouraging Outright Voter Fraud

Freaking unreal
Politics • Views: 67,311

You know how Republicans are always fear-mongering about voter fraud, even though there’s almost no evidence of it actually happening in the real world?

Well, today the Republican Party’s increasingly desperate candidate for president of the United States is actually encouraging his followers to commit voter fraud.

Yes, really.

During a rally in Greeley, Colorado, on Sunday evening, Trump opened the event expressing skepticism of mail-in ballots in the state. He encouraged people to get a new ballot, even if they have already sent one in, and vote again.

“Who has sent their ballots in? And do you think those ballots are properly counted?” Trump asked the audience, to which they replied “No!”

Trump continued by expressing his skepticism and telling supporters to go get new ballots to ensure their vote is counted.

“If you go to university center, they’ll give you a new ballot, they’ll void your old ballot, in some places they do that four or five times, so by tomorrow, almost everyone will have their new ballots in.”

UPDATE at 10/30/16 6:44:24 pm by Charles Johnson

Trump obviously knows that what he’s encouraging is highly illegal, so he may be trying to deliberately set up a legal reason to question the results of the election when he loses.

Wait, wait, hold on, let me get this straight. The man who has said in public that he will not accept the results of the election if he loses - who has repeatedly claimed actual or intended voter fraud on the part of the Democrats - is now explicitly, and hypocritically, suggesting that his voters partake in the same?

Oh, wait. Obviously it’s the only way to compete in an election that’s already rigged. Nothing to see here, move along.///

Wow, 2016 seems to be the year where women finally decide to name names and say that, yes, many men, especially powerful men, are misogynistic pricks, gropers, or worse.

The latest: Tippi Hedren claims Alfred Hitchcock sexually assaulted her in the ’60s

Tippi Hedren, who starred in Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” and “Marnie,” claims the director stalked and sexually assaulted and harassed her when she worked with him in the 1960s.

In an excerpt from her new memoir “Tippi,” obtained by the New York Post, Hedren details her relationship with Hitchcock in the ’60s, after she moved from New York City to Los Angeles following her divorce from Peter Griffith. Hitchcock, who died in 1980, tracked her down after seeing her in a commercial for meal replacement shakes, and signed her to a five-year movie contract.

After that, Hedren alleges, Hitchcock developed an unhealthy relationship with the actress. While working on 1963’s “The Birds,” the role that shot Hedren to stardom, Hedren claims that he was extremely possessive of her, warning her castmates, including co-star Rod Taylor, not to “touch her.” She claims that if Hitchcock even saw her talking to another man, he would give her an “expressionless, unwavering stare … even if he was talking to a group of people on the other side of the soundstage.”

Hedren further claims that Hitchcock would stalk her, telling his driver to pass by her home, and detailed an incident in which he allegedly tried to kiss her in the back of his limo. “It was an awful, awful moment,” she writes.

The alleged abuse reportedly continued on the set of their next movie together, “Marnie,” where Hedren says Hitchcock had a door installed that connected his office to her dressing room. On that set, Hedren says Hitchcock entered her dressing room and tried to “put his hands on me.”

“It was sexual, it was perverse,” she writes. “The harder I fought him, the more aggressive he became.”

She writes that she didn’t tell anyone of the alleged abuse because “sexual harassment and stalking were terms that didn’t exist” at the time.

It’s not the first time, however, Hedren has spoken out about Hitchcock’s behavior. HBO’s 2012 film “The Girl” detailed the darker side of their relationship, and Hedren previously gave interviews describing his apparent obsession with her. “He was a misogynist,” she told the New York Times in 2012. “I think he had a whole lot of problems.”

“Tippi” will be released on Nov. 1.

Nightly check in—strangely, couldn’t do it from the worksite because their wi-fi filters the word “slammer.” Go figure.

So fucking sick, I can barely function. Most likely bronchitis as well as a cold—hard to breathe—sneezing and coughing to raise the dead. Hope I can make it through tomorrow—then will crash at the hotel till I feel well enough to drive 3.5 hours home. I’ve had it with these projects—not worth the aggravation. Haven’t felt this bad in a while—had bronchitis last year with the same breathing problem—should go to the ER, but don’t have time until after tomorrow. Sucks being me right now.

Kind of glad I can only pay moderate attention to the weekend shit show. Fuck Trump and anyone who is idiotic enough to vote for the misanthropic, ignorant yam. I have no sympathy, empathy or patience with these fools. And, anyone who truly believes the yam is qualified and capable of being president is a fool—and a not very bright one at that.

P.S. The reason I know that is I misplaced my mail-in ballot in 2012 and hand to sign that exact affidavit when I went to vote on election day. The election workers were NOT pleased, made me show ID and treated the whole situation as quite a hassle. I found the un-filled out mail-in ballot later and tore it up.

So, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith get stuck on the runway in Florida, and end up being invited on to Air Force One and meeting briefly with Obama. Conservative Joe Perry handled it nicely…

Despite being a tried-and-true Conservative, Perry admitted that Obama is “pretty amazing.” “I had a bunch of questions I wanted to ask him, but as it was, he was coming back from a long day of stumping for… the Democrats,” Perry said. “Being a Republican, I still have a lot of respect for the office, you know? Sitting there with the Commander-in-Chief and leader of the free world… it was really cool.”

But then, Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer got all upset about it.

“This is not representative of Aerosmith!’ Kramer wrote, while linking to the band’s official tweet about the encounter, which has since been deleted. He then responded to two people who criticized his comment. “Everyone has their right to their opinion. It’s called democracy & I support that,” he wrote to one. Another looked to suggest that Kramer’s political views should affect his coffee brand. “I didn’t make anything clear,” he clarified, “I don’t support anyone speaking for me!”

A little later, he added, “I’m not saying who I support!,” while repeating, “I don’t support anyone speaking for me!” While the majority of Kramer’s tweets are about either his Rockin’ & Roastin’ coffee line or related to Aerosmith’s touring, he recently retweeted a few critics of the Affordable Care Act, which is commonly known as Obamacare.

I wonder who Joey’s voting for.

I don’t know if this was mentioned elsewhere, but at least one Trump supporter has been caught committing voter fraud.

re: #94 Mattand

I’m beginning to think Comey has dirt on Josh Marshall at TPM. Josh is still sticking with “Comey had meant no malice in making this statement.”

Love TPM, but I’m not buying it. There’s no way someone as experienced as Comey would release something like this, put his hands on his cheeks Home Alone-style, and go “Do I do bad?????”

A longtime Republicans worked on Whitewater has another shot at taking at a Clinton, right before she could become president? Seriously, Josh has been watching the same GOP over the last 7 years that we have, right?

Right?

Agreed. This is just too hard to justify as a simple mistake. And the fact that he won’t clarify before the election is evidence it’s knowing interference with the election. Comey has disgraced himself (along with Cable News, who lapped this garbage up)

Just his mentioning it won’t move the FBI to actually do something - if they did, they’d be breaking the same rule that they’re slamming Comey for breaking.

But could it be possible that the campaign has got independent information of a concrete tie between Trump and Russian interests? I gotta think Reid wouldn’t make this move unless he’s prepared to back it up in some way.

Not so sure. Reid dropped hints about Romney paying nothing in taxes during the last Presidential campaign. Romney’s released taxes showed that he did indeed pay them. Of course, they were at a very low rate, despite Romney appearing to have deliberately overpaid them and Romney probably refiled after the election to get the rest of the deductions due him.

A question: Will Comey be testifying in the Senate on Monday? I heard that Dem Senators had demanded that he do so, but I dont know if he’s going to snub them.

Also a comment that I havent seen enough of: Is it really strange that a wife might email her husband, and vice versa? Donnez-moi un break, as they don’t say in France.

I know Chaffetz said he would not be called to testify.

But I’m not sure if Senate Dems could call him in front of a committee.

Yesterday my wife talked to her ex-husband, who went to a Samhain gathering today.

She told him Cubs games are more important than Wiccan gatherings and he should stay home to watch the Cubs. /s

I think you underestimate how many people hate Trump.

This is a good point. With the GOP becoming the party of Trump, we should see more people who will crawl over broken glass to vote against the Republicans, even in midterm elections.

I just don’t see Trump as having a highbrow electoral enough ceiling and the polling seems to reflect that.

I thought it’d have been pretty funny if after 60 some years of not winning a title to see Cleveland win two in one year, both on the road

It would be pretty tough on Cleveland fans if they are crushed by Chicago on their home field.

That’s a funny bit of auto-correct nonsense. Nothing highbrow about Trump’s campaign, and he still has no apparent path to 270 electoral votes.

I’m not that scared of the election. I still expect Clinton to win.

But the thought of that bastard selling his stupid fans on how ‘smart’ and ‘nice’ it would be to throw in with Putin makes me want to start smashing things.

Senator Joe McCarthy and President Ronald Reagan must be rolling in their graves.

The Republican party is abandoning all pretense of holding to its former stated values in this cycle.

Religious right supporters of Trump are total hypocrites.

The national security credibility of the party is also completely gone, with a presidential campaign and important GOP propaganda offices obviously at least influenced by Russia.

I’ve been writing poetry for years now and I’m an aspiring amateur photographer. Why did I never think to bring the two together before now??

LIFE IN PICTURES

Hello there, photographer.
I’m ready for my shoot.

Who do you want me to be today?

Strong? Stoic? A warrior? A hero?
A freak? A loser? An outcast? A zero?

You are the artist, I am your muse.
So how will it be now? I’m not sure, you choose!

I can be everything you’ve ever needed
or nothing you’ve ever wanted.
All at once.

A complete package of mystery,
neatly wrapped and ready for you to unravel.

Shall we begin?

Mark down your lines and make me look good.
And lighten my eyes a bit if you could.

Get every nuance and get every angle,
don’t let it be blurry, distorted or tangled,
let nothing out here be creatively strangled.

Go on, let me see your smooth style and framing.
I promise I’m really quite calm, not inflaming.

That’s it, move me as you will ‘round the room,
bring power and flavor to my appearance of gloom.

Now time for the close up, in its own solemn way,
it speaks to the depths of my inner soiree.
accented with shadows and ashes of gray.

Exhausted…a break is in order.

But soon enough, You’re ready for me again.

Let me take a deep breath
and prepare myself.

Here we go…

This is my my moment, this my scene.
These are my memories, these are my dreams.

Give it some lens flare, cause I don’t care,
when I’m laying out my soul bare.

Be sure to get my pretty side,
and release the pain I’ve tried to hide.

Shatter my world in the grip of your lens,
let loose those things I could not tell my friends.

Time’s running faster, the clock’s always ticking,
so please, while the madness inside me is sticking
do whatever you can until the shutter stops clicking.

I’ll run and I’ll dance and I’ll play in your light,
or perhaps stay subdued for the sum of the night.

I know you can do it, make me look my best!
Who cares if I’m torn and ragged and stressed?

Stay with me now, I want all that you’ve got,
Don’t miss any moment, don’t forego any shot.

Give me your colors and give me your screens,
Red, yellow, blue. White, gold, black and green.

And now our conclusion, a spirit descended.

The lens cap is on now.

The session has ended.

You got a point. Trump is doing to the GOP nationally what Pete Wilson did to it in California. Wilson’s anti-immigrant position effectively killed the California GOP. The last hurrah was Arnold getting the Governorship. Now the GOP is effectively dead statewide. You would think the GOP leadership would learn a lesson but they are all as short-sighted as Pete Wilson is.

Pete Wilson’s playing fast and loose with Energy regulation also fucked California royally too.

Not only that, the energy deregulation bill was the first major piece of legislation passed by the California Assembly after Term Limits took effect. The entire bill was written by lobbyists who hoodwinked inexperienced legislators like Steve Peace (yes he’s the same guy who did the Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes movie…).

Looks like the FBI was also investigating The Clinton Foundation for hank-panky as well.

According to a person familiar with the probes, on Aug. 12, a senior Justice Department official called Mr. McCabe to voice his displeasure at finding that New York FBI agents were still openly pursuing the Clinton Foundation probe during the election season. Mr. McCabe said agents still had the authority to pursue the issue as long as they didn’t use overt methods requiring Justice Department approvals.

The Justice Department official was “very pissed off,” according to one person close to Mr. McCabe, and pressed him to explain why the FBI was still chasing a matter the department considered dormant. Others said the Justice Department was simply trying to make sure FBI agents were following longstanding policy not to make overt investigative moves that could be seen as trying to influence an election. Those rules discourage investigators from making any such moves before a primary or general election, and, at a minimum, checking with anticorruption prosecutors before doing so.

“Are you telling me that I need to shut down a validly predicated investigation?” Mr. McCabe asked, according to people familiar with the conversation. After a pause, the official replied, “Of course not,” these people said.

For Mr. McCabe’s defenders, the exchange showed how he was stuck between an FBI office eager to pour more resources into a case and Justice Department prosecutors who didn’t think much of the case, one person said. Those people said that following the call, Mr. McCabe reiterated past instructions to FBI agents that they were to keep pursuing the work within the authority they had.

Others further down the FBI chain of command, however, said agents were given a much starker instruction on the case: “Stand down.” When agents questioned why they weren’t allowed to take more aggressive steps, they said they were told the order had come from the deputy director—Mr. McCabe.

Others familiar with the matter deny Mr. McCabe or any other senior FBI official gave such a stand-down instruction.

For agents who already felt uneasy about FBI leadership’s handling of the Clinton Foundation case, the moment only deepened their concerns, these people said. For those who felt the probe hadn’t yet found significant evidence of criminal conduct, the leadership’s approach was the right response.

Issa may be in trouble because his district isn’t as red as it used to be—thanks to passing the initiative that took redistricting out of the hands of the legislature and put a nonpartisan jury in charge to draw the lines.

This is yet another case where Republicans shot themselves in the foot here in California. Arnold and the GOP pushed for that initiative because they thought a nonpartisan jury would draw lines more favorable to the GOP. It backfired because the jury actually drew competitive lines that bumped a lot of gerrymandered Republicans out of their seats.

After seeing how the jury worked here in California, I wouldn’t mind seeing a Constitutional Amendment taking this procedure nationwide. That would help kill gerrymandering!

Nate Silver still has my district (NE3) as the one with the largest margin of voters for Mr. Trump.

Not that I wish to bash Ziggy, but where you live could be a lot worse. You could live here with a Christian Identity church that wants to kill liberals and atheists only a few miles away, a Bible college just across the state line from me that only teaches how you should interpret the Bible, and surrounded on all sides with Trump supporters in a town that has more guns than people.

Yet, as a Clinton supporter, liberal, atheist, and frequent contributor to the local newspaper (thus everyone in the Panhandle and NE Wyoming reads my writings), I have had zero threats (not even snide remarks).

No one here complains about me stumping for Clinton on the phone or in person. (They may not agree with my chosen candidate, but that is expected in any election.)

You don’t need to borrow trouble. Expend your energies on worthwhile things.

I am not big on religion as an atheist, but I would point you to a passage in the Qur’an you are a believer (and I assume you take comfort from the book):

4:85 Whoso interveneth in a good cause will have the reward thereof, and whoso interveneth in an evil cause will bear the consequence thereof. Allah overseeth all things.
