Twitter Restores White Supremacist Leader Richard Spencer’s Account, and Verifies Him

Bad craziness
Internet • Views: 66,161

Well, dear readers, I have to admit I feel like a chump for congratulating Twitter for shutting down a series of neo-Nazi and white supremacist accounts.

Because today they restored the account of one of the worst white supremacist leaders, Richard Spencer.

And they didn’t just restore his account. He has a verified checkmark.

I don’t even know what to say at this point. The world has gone nuts.

How come you always see Republicans with their mouths pulled down, and their chin balled up, like the photo of DT to the right, on “Man Who Bailed Out….”? Do they think it hides a double chin? Makes them look manly? I just wonder what the heck is going on that they think it makes them look serious, rather than like a baby who just pooped a diaper.

And I HAVE a Twitter account.

It makes you wonder what it takes to get people actually properly banned. And makes laughable all those asshats who rage about Twitter ‘stifling free speech’. You can literally be an avowed white supremacist and get Twitter to kowtow back to you and give you a checkmark like a real important person.

Remember that. Twitter bends knee to literal fucking nazis.

Patton Oswalt:

This fucking election. Fucking Trump.

These newest revelations, that Russia hacked the election. Piles of evidence, teetering up to the sky. That Russia ALSO hacked the RNC and are holding them over a barrel because of what they know. Which would be hilarious if it wasn’t so frightening.
And the boiling chaos that’s resulting from it. I’ve got conservative friends actually DEFENDING Russia on this. I’ve got progressive friends gloating that we’ve finally had done to us what we’ve done to other countries. That Hillary somehow deserves this. That WE somehow deserve this. That infuriating cliche about, “It’s actually GOOD ifTrump destroys everything it’ll start a revolution BLAH BLAH BLAH FUCKING BLAH…”

And in the middle of it all is Trump — bloated, grinning, oblivious, wearing his cheap baseball cap and ruining people’s lives with his Twitter. While all around him — smarter, better, exhausted people scramble around, trying to sweep up a china shop he keeps stumbling through, laughing the whole time at these stupid nerds picking up the broken pieces on the ground. Losers. Weak.
Trump doesn’t spread evil. He doesn’t even spread chaos. Evil and chaos are beyond his abilities.

He spreads MEDIOCRITY. And anyone who gets near him gets dragged into the same sloppy, tossed-off, first-draft shitscape he lives in.

Except this time, it’s the entire country who got too close to him. We’re about to become, as a nation, as garish and pathetic as one of his hotel suites. Balsa wood under gold spray paint. A chandelier over a toilet. Knock-off Haviland and Parlon china on which to serve a Big Mac. And the people MAKING the Big Macs getting screwed, stripped and exploited while the predators high-five on their private jets.

In nine days the electors make their choice. Let’s hope they choose to save us from our grope-y, racist uncle who just won $50,000 playing scratch-offs.

To me, Twitter is like a giant wall upon which there is an endless stream of graffiti written. Most of it is just noise, some is informational, while some of the scribbles are obnoxious.

Twitter is in the business of making the millennia old habit of gossip into digital profits.

I’ve been using it more and more as a venting space for things since the election, but there’s no ignoring the fact that it enables a bunch of shitheels by simply refusing to enforce their own ToS. I used to frequent another place before that pretty much had the same ‘hands off’ moderating that enabled all the worst of the trolls, and because of their loosened rules, most of the people suspended ended up either the most and absolutely most blatantly offensive idiots…or the people calling out trolls for being toxic instead.

I lingered long as I could while mostly lurking there but the election pretty much was the breaking point as the right-wing trolls ended up fully taking over in toxic exultant fervor. With the usual dash of persecution complex still thrown in about how the entire board was a massive ‘left-wing circlejerk’ despite 90% of the posts ending up being the same 15 wingnut assholes.

I watched Sicario for the second time the other day. It’s a brilliant movie. The first time I had no idea what was going on, just like the protagonists. The second time, knowing what was going on but still watching them operating in the dark gave it a different feel. Really cool.

My wife and I drove through town on the main boulevard taking note of all the casinos, bars, and other purveyors of vice.

When I get home, I have something new to troll my Republican elected county prosecutor/employed village attorney: In addition to my private E-mail server (throughout the election I kept noting to him and the village board before meetings that I’d not been arrested for my private E-mail server), I can ask how to properly apply for travel expenses for a fact-finding mission on how to learn about vice for the job of vice-mayor. Well, I can also see about my wife getting a sinecure, as I needed her to identify vice for me when she saw it. (This goes back to a Russian trying to pick her up for 300 roubles when we were in Gdansk last year. FYI, she turned him down, as she was somewhat insulted by an offer that translated to $5.23.)

Reading the dodging and weaving tweets from conservatives (and far lefties) on Twitter is infuriating. We all know they’d be calling for heads on platters if the winner of the election had been a Democrat, but “their guy” won, so their attitude is “no big deal.”

Labeling them as traitors is a good first step. There is nothing normal about accepting foreign interference in our national elections as “no big deal.” For all their bluster about American exceptionalism, the right sure seem willing to conveniently forget all the City on the Hill shit when it comes to retaining power.

55
Alyosha  Dec 10, 2016 • 10:27:43pm

The Obama Administration has, in many ways, departed from the heavy-handed positions taken in previous administrations. A notable counter-example would obviously be Libya, but the justifications for that particular action outweighs the negatives.

Not all US administrations are alike. The most egregious violations of sovereignty in regards to internation relations have been done away with.
To then say, ‘but the US has done some awful things over the years’ (while true) ‘so it seems like justice that some power should return the favour’ ignores two main points.

1) Obama has relied more on soft power and diplomacy than his predecessors; to lay the blowback for centuries of US interventialism at his door is fucking unfair but also exactly what you’d expect from the racists who have been trying to tear him down from the first day; and
2) The author of these troubles is in no way democratic. Russia is an expansion-driven autocracy which seeks to undermine the strength of the US and Europe so that it might pursue territorial gains.

Fuck this shit.

I’m sorry about what happened with your son. But when he said he ‘had the memory of that joy’ at his actions, it kind of made a sad sense. Similar to the inmates of ‘The House of the Dead’. Transgressions that lead to greater punishments were common merely in the misguided view that they constituted a ‘change of fortune’.

History has rightly vilified Marshall Petain’s so-called Vichy regime. I would urge you all to read William Shirer’s FALL OF THE THIRD REPUBLIC to understand how France got there. The parallels with our country’s recent history are rather striking.

Now, we have our own puppet regime created by loathsome reactionary forces (Bannon is a good equivalent of Pierre Laval) supported by a hostile foreign power using an old doddering yet still charismatic fool as puppet head.

Is it too early to refer to Americans as “burger-eating surrender monkeys”?

You mean The Collapse of the Third Republic: An Inquiry into the Fall of France in 1940, I think.

ADDENDUM: I’ve read The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich twice: once while I was still in high school and again many years later, but not the work about the Third Republic. I’ve added it to my Kindle wish list.

From my other perusal of WWII histories, France in the 1930s had problems similar to France of the mid-1910s: Factional disputes among its political leaders, and a military still entrenched (pun intended) in 19th century tactics and command structure. Both times, Germany caught France unawares, because both Kaiser Wilhelm and Adolf Hitler threw away the old rulebook for waging war as “gentlemen” and played dirty.

Yes, apologies to all, I was quoting from (imperfect) memory.

Except for the detailed battle plans which were frankly beyond me, I found the book hugely informative and there are many parallels with what has happened here, to similarly lead us to our own soon-to-be-inaugurated Vichy regime.

Reload my comment above for an addendum.

Shirer’s historical works are peerless. Being the midst of all that strife and warfare gave his writing an immediacy and drama few historians can achieve, and his attention to detail is astonishing.

I should probably read his biography of Hitler, too.

Did you catch the recent news that an amateur historian uncovered in primary sources the drug addiction across the Third Reich’s military and leadership, including Hitler? Professional historians are figuratively smacking themselves in the forehead for missing what was in plain sight, if you only knew what you were looking at.

Yes, it’s a common theme in both the USA and Europe, just as the West faces a huge refugee crisis. Trying to convince these people that refugees are not going to take jobs away from local people — how can they, since most refugees cannot speak the local language or have the necessary qualifications? — is doomed to fail, because the *real* reason for rejecting refugees is bigotry, pure and simple. And here in the USA, which has pledged to admit only a tiny fraction of the refugees Germany has already accepted, you would think there is a vast, teeming wave of refugees ready to take away American jobs, shut down churches, convert the young, and destroy White Amurrika forever. It’s xenophobia with an extra rich layer of fear.

I’ve been reading the story of Nujeen Mustapha, the Kurdish teenager confined to a wheelchair who trekked with her sister from Aleppo to Germany. The people who are really dangerous are not the refugees but the people smugglers and townspeople who treat the refugees worse than cattle, exploiting their desperation to line their own pockets. Maybe a tiny minority of refugees are troublemakers, but sadly that is true of human populations in general.

Did you catch the recent news that an amateur historian uncovered in primary sources the drug addiction across the Third Reich’s military and leadership, including Hitler? Professional historians are figuratively smacking themselves in the forehead for missing what was in plain sight, if you only knew what you were looking at.

I do not know how they missed it, other than that such activities are not associated with persons in upper levels of government.

And just think about 1940: the Panzer crews were cranked up for days, broke clear through to the English channel to surround the British… and then crashed. While they were sleeping it off, the British escaped at Dunkirk

Here’s the Guardian’s write-up about it. theguardian.com

“I guess drugs weren’t a priority for the historians,” he says. “A crazy guy like me had to come along.” Still, crazy or not, he has done a remarkable job. If Blitzed is gripping, it is also convincing. Ian Kershaw, the British historian who is probably the world’s leading authority on Hitler and Nazi Germany, has described it as “a serious piece of scholarship”.

Unlikely as it sounds, it was Ohler’s friend, the Berlin DJ Alexander Kramer, who first put him on to the idea. “He’s like a medium for that time,” says Ohler. “He has this huge library, and he knows all the music from the 20s. One night he said to me: ‘Do you know the massive role drugs played in National Socialism?’ I told him that I didn’t, but that it sounded true - and I knew immediately it would be the subject of my next book.”

His plan was to write a novel, but with his first visit to the archives that changed completely. There he found the papers of Dr Theodor Morell, Hitler’s personal physician, previously only a minor character in most studies of the Führer. “I knew then that this was already better than fiction.” In the months that followed, supported by the late, great German historian of the Third Reich Hans Mommsen, Ohler travelled from archive to archive, carefully gathering his material - and how much of it there was! He didn’t use half of what he found. “Look at this,” he says, jumping up. When he returns, in his hand is a copy of a letter from Martin Bormann, Hitler’s private secretary, in which he suggests that the “medication” Morell is giving the Führer needs to be regulated for the sake of his increasingly wobbly health.

Morrell first treated Hitler for stomach pains, and other ailments. Then he started Hitler on a regime of oxycodone and cocaine injections. But, as supplies were gradually cut off by the Allies closing in on Berlin, the injections were fewer and fewer. Ohler says the tremors that were attributed to Parkinson’s Disease may in fact have been Hitler’s withdrawal symptoms as he went cold turkey.

Meanwhile, the Germans were slipping methamphetamines into chocolates, to give the population energy, and experimenting with sailors hopped up on cocaine piloting one-man subs — the idea being a pilot could stay awake for the four-day sailing from Germany to the Thames and then blow shit up. Instead, the sailors got lost or had psychotic episodes cooped up in their underwater tin cans.

It could be to an extent; far-right politics is typically anti-globalization and it employs xenophobic rhetoric as part and parcel of their anti-globalization ideology. Fear of “foreigners taking our jobs!!” is easy to use - and exploit - and it dovetails nicely with the overall weltanschauung of extreme right-wing politics.

Right wing populism plays well with workers unfortunately. A lot of those who hold up the working class on a pedestal don’t want to acknowledge that but it’s true.

TBH, I think many on the left put the working class on a pedestal since they were such a key part of the New Deal coalition and indeed many can relate to them or had parents or grandparents that were. I don’t mind. I just think we need to realize that many of these people do have prejudices on things that have nothing to do with economics and people like Trump can and certainly do exploit them.

Someone who can assure people that he has all the answers, and can make them quick and off-the-cuff, will fool a large number of people that it really is that easy. Too many Mexicans? Build a wall. Too many Muslims? Ship them out. Too many jobs going overseas? Punish the companies. Foreign defense too expensive? Make those deadbeat countries pay for our services. Anyone with half a brain could see through that as total bullshit — a salesman’s patter to butter up the marks — but sadly it seems there are about 60 million Americans with only 30 million brains among them.

Broken record time.

Lake effect snows will get worse with global warming because the lakes will remain unfrozen for longer periods enabling cold arctic winds to sweep over and gather the moisture that then falls downwind on the snow belts. That’s why parts of Western NY have seen 3+ feet of snow so far, with no sign of it letting up.

Lake effects hit the eastern shores of the Great Lakes. We’re on the western bank of the Detroit River, does that even count? Toronto should get hit harder than us.

Iran announced Sunday it had finalized a $16.8 billion deal with Boeing to purchase 80 passenger planes — an agreement made possible by last year’s landmark nuclear agreement.

Boeing said the deal will support tens of thousands of U.S. jobs directly associated with production and delivery of the 777s and nearly 100,000 U.S. jobs overall. The first airplanes under this agreement are scheduled for delivery in 2018.

OK Trump, you kill the Iran nuke deal you kill this deal too. How you gonna act?

The only thing that might save this is if Iran commits to use Exxon jet fuel.

I’d bet the DoE employs, by far, more PhDs in physics than any other organization on the planet, either directly in the Civil Service, as through contracts in its own laboratory system.

What will GoodHair or Heitkamp or especially Washburne do when in a room full of those folk? Do any of these candidates actually know what the DoE does?

And why would Heitkamp in particular want to be involved? She’s a Democrat, and taking her out of her seat is a way for Trump to reduce the Democrat count in the Senate, which is a win for him, but why would she want the job?

Is her name simply thrown out there because she’s from North Dakota and someone convinced Trump that ND has this great oil boom that would be greater if not for all those nasty gov’t regulations (about which the DoE has nothing to do?)

One big problem with Trump and the people he’s picking is that they think they know better than the data. Trump doesn’t need daily, or even, apparently bi-weekly intelligence briefings, because he’s smart, and he’d only get them when they’re needed. There will be a wholesale abandonment of fact- and data-driven policy. Businesses will love the reduced regulations. Rich people will love the reduced taxes. They don’t live in reality. Someone should ask Andy how he’s done since ACA.

I think you mean waterboarding “terrorists”. As far as I can tell they never cared much whether the people they were torturing had actually done anything wrong. Not that torturing is OK ever, but it was particularly sickening that they would just grab some taxi driver off the street and torture him to death and not even bother with an “our bad”.

The mistake is thinking the Tea Party was ever about ideology.

Let’s remember where it started, with Rick Santelli ranting on CNBC, not about the bailout of Wall Street after having nearly destroyed the world economy with its greed and stupidity, but rather about the suggestion that the Administration might do a similar bailout of INDIVIDUALS who now found themselves with unaffordable loans, or who found themselves underwater as housing prices fell when the bubble burst.

Who, in the minds of what became the Tea Party, were those homeowners? Poor people. Minorities, mostly. People who had no business thinking they could afford a house. Look at the Right Wing rhetoric of the time - after a brief period of confusion and disillusionment when Capitalism revealed that it is NOT self-policing, somebody came up with the comforting, but completely false narrative that the bubble and collapse were caused by the Carter era Community Reinvestment Act, and that the poor bankers had had NO CHOICE but to write mortgages for minorities for houses they clearly could not afford.

By the time Santelli went on his rant, Wall Street was largely vindicated, in the eyes of the Right, and the whole thing was the fault of the Democrats, the Gummint, and Those People. And here was Obama, one of Those People, scheming to let Those People get away with it! And worse, he was gonna give them healthcare!!

No, the Tea Party was NEVER about ideology. It was ALWAYS about Those People. Trump was just the only candidate who was willing to go beyond dogwhistles, and stating openly that he’d be the white people’s champion against Those People.

And they can see better than we can what’s up at FBI with the email leaks etc.

All we (the public) lacks now is the evidence to see how strong it is. This is an old hard core confrontation-CIA vs the Russian intel/espionage services. A blood spilled by both sides kind of fight.

I’m glad official noise is being made about Twitler’s Russian puppet strings, but I wish it had come sooner.

This isn’t rocket surgery. Having Russia’s bag-man in the Ukraine as his campaign manager, and the ONLY thing on the GOP platform they even looked at was our policy towards the Ukraine - that’s all the evidence anybody should have needed to guess that the full force of Putin’s disruption apparatus would be supporting Dump. You don’t get to roll that deep with the gangsters out of charity on their part.

And for anybody who pays the slightest bit of attention to the Russian security state’s way of doing things, that should have meant a nation-wide BOLO for troll armies, fake accounts, hacks, intrusions, information theft, “leaks”, blackmail, and money laundering.

Unfortunately personality cult politics is serving as a kind of armor against this shit these days. Putin’s people could explicitly state “We helped out” and “Washington is ours”, and Dump’s fanclub would DARVO-gasm in defense of their Greatest Great Leader.

Here’s the thing, though - Europe is receiving literally hundreds of thousands of refugees from Syria and elsewhere. We’re accepting a tiny fraction of that number, and our White Folks are freaking out at least as badly as white folks in Europe.

Related to this, I saw some tweets from Josh Marshall last week about how WWII, the Holocaust, the Cold War, and other forces had ethnically resegregated Central Europe, which had been much more mixed before that time. I wonder how much that ethnic segregation has played into the xenophobic reaction to ‘swarthy foreigners’ there?

re: #208 Unshaken Defiance

War is an overused term and badly so. That been said-I have no doubt there are CIA career professionals straining at the leash on this because this fell right in their venue-Protecting us from foreign espionage and intelligence services. And they can see better than we can what’s up at FBI with the email leaks etc.

All we (the public) lacks now is the evidence to see how strong it is. This is an old hard core confrontation-CIA vs the Russian intel/espionage services.

I agree that there was some serious ball dropping somewhere…either in not seeing it or in taking steps to intervene. But we still don’t know anything about what Russia did or didn’t do (outside of the DNC leaks which were awkward to say the least, and the Podesta emails which were just embarrassing). The Comey announcement 11 days before the election was bad and bad timing, but I don’t really see how Putin had anything to do with that…if he did and the CIA has proof, then Comey will get to spend some time behind bars.

All we really have to go on right now is wild-ass speculation and what little detail is leaked to the press. Is there a link to the full un-redacted CIA report online? I haven’t seen one.

They have different charters. The FBI deals with domestic intelligence. The CIA deals with foreign intelligence. The CIA report isn’t a rebuke of the FBI, and James Comey isn’t Putin’s bitch…granted, I know he’s enemy #7 right now for a lot of people (Trump, Bannon, Priebus, Conway, Putin, and Bernie Sanders being 1-6, respectively), but let’s dial down the ‘war’ talk just a bit…

That is a very creative list. I bet you are not being honest though. I’m sure Hillary is higher up than Sanders on your real list. : )

Lindsey Graham ✔ @LindseyGrahamSC
Joint statement with Senators McCain, Schumer, and Reed on reports Russia interfered with the 2016 Election.

Goober Graham is probably just angling to pick up the pieces when/if Trump falls. It’s sleaze but damn gutsy and beneficial sleaze nevertheless. As for McCain, he has definitely never seemed like a candidate for a Kremlin snow-job, for…….reasons .

I think Trump is going to use the Agile Software Development model for how he governs.

1. Everything is done in short sprints.
2. As things are completed and approved, they get deployed to production (drilling in ANWR, vouchers for Schools, eliminate minimum wage, repeal Obamacare, etc.)
3. Once deployed, work can begin on the next thing (Obamacare replacement, dealing with poisoned ecosystem and uneducated masses that need training, drafting enough people to police the food lines, etc…)
4. At the end of the term, hand the project off to the next president (along with partially thought out Obamacare replacement)

The important thing is to keep moving and delivering something, even if it’s only partially done…we can work out the bugs later.

Like this guy (and yes, my response to him is somewhat sarcastic…I’m sure she’s out there somewhere speaking out against Trump’s appointments and their problems but the media won’t show it)…

You still think I hate Hillary? I don’t hold anything against Hillary. Hell, I even voted for her…without reservation. Did I think she’d be a great president? Hell no. Did I think she’d be a better president than Trump? Hell yes. Am I saddened by her loss in what should have been a landslide in her favor? Certainly. And do I think she can be helpful to Democrats in resisting Trump’s policies - she fuckin’ better be or everything she said she believed in when she campaigned was a lie.

That is one of my problems with him too. I really think he downplays the bigotry that exists among white working class people. I also have a big problem with him telling people to stop “identity politics” when it’s Republicans that have created these issues in the first place. It was Republicans that have championed anti choice policies throughout the states since gaining state legislatures, it’s Republicans who scapegoat LGBT people for votes, and it’s Republicans that make immigrants and non-Christians the “other.” I don’t think Sanders is a bigot but I think being in quite liberal and quite white Vermont gives him a picture of what’s going on in the American landscape that isn’t true.

Speaking as a person of color, a large amount of Bernie’s rhetoric was actually ‘fuck persons of color, what’s important is economic class’. It’s not a ‘not even close thing’. It was a shitting on southern voters thing, a whitesplaining thing, even a post ‘we need to focus on working class’ which for some reason presumes that people of color don’t work. All of Bernie is problematic on race, starting with his assumption that because he marched with Dr. King, that was all he needed to do, continuing to having a fucking rapper as his black surrogate, instead of…I dunno…one of the thousands of black academicians or professional non-entertainers.

And his comments aren’t that the white middle class aren’t still important, his idea is that we should recenter the Democratic party (which HE IS NOT A MEMBER OF) around them.

What Bernie refuses to recognize is that racial disparities and economic disparities are separate but incestuous issues. One feeds into the other and then feeds back in to the first to self-perpetuate. You can’t address one without the other. A lot of civil rights activists (such as King himself) recognized and continue to recognize this.

Of course the case could be made. Hell, I saw him smile at the very first primary debate when he told Hillary nobody wanted to hear about her damn emails. Certainly it was a nod to Putin that in 15 months Trump would be the GOP nominee and eventual victor. Remember when he went to see the Pope? He made a side trip to meet with young Macedonian fake news website makers at an all night Rave under the Vatican. Then there were all the campaign stops he made for Hillary in the closing months where he said, “We need to do everything we can to make sure Trump isn’t elected president.” but we know he didn’t really mean it.

Totes Bernie’s fault. Natch.

Where do you get that so many Democrats want him to shut up??? I don’t see that anywhere as a major thing. I do see plenty of Bernie supporters still snorting about him being screwed over by the DNC and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, and Clinton was the wrong candidate, the Democrats did this all to themselves, etc.

Maybe they need to shut up too, eh?

And as far as speaking up…he can but doesn’t speak for the Democratic party. He is not a member. So yeah, it would have to be someone else. And there will be. It is going to take time, the party needs some younger blood.

The problem with our current two-party system is that the so-called ‘left’ side of the aisle never fully recovered from 8 years of bashing by Bush and his team. They were so afraid of being called ‘unpatriotic’ they rubber stamped the Iraq war. Then, when we get a godsend of a president in Obama, they recoil in fear of Fox News and barely support him for eight years…they should have been roasting McConnell’s nuts over a fire the last six years but they didn’t want to hurt the turtle’s feelings.

You want to see outrage? Wait until their first Filibuster gets squashed in under three hours. Then people will realize they’re not going to fight for them because fuck it, they lost and they need to keep their powder dry for 2020.

I remembered that when I was first introduced to this blog, the author’s views were much more in line with my own. Turns out they indeed used to be! I thought maybe I was just losing it for a while there.

Apparently not as much as you thought, because I would never have voted for someone like Donald Trump. But I did wake up and realize the intellectual and moral bankruptcy of the right years ago. What’s your excuse?

re: #258 darthstar

Natch.

I’m talking about strictly party politics. You are talking bout being upset that anyone should take Bernie to task for being who he is…NOT a Democratic Party member.

re: #261 ObserverArt

Where do you get that so many Democrats want him to shut up???

Here.

Yeah, I gave up on the DWS thing after the convention started and she finally got the boot from the DNC and went to work for Hillary myself…water under the bridge and all that. I don’t understand how people can still be mad about losing the primary.

And as far as speaking up…he can but doesn’t speak for the Democratic party. He is not a member. So yeah, it would have to be someone else. And there will be. It is going to take time, the party needs some younger blood.

They should no longer count on Bernie for anything. And no that does not mean they can’t use his voting, etc. I said he can’t be counted on as in trusted.

He’s not speaking for the Democratic party. He’s speaking for you and me and everyone else who calls this country home. Why is that so fucking hard for people to understand?

Democrats vs Republicans isn’t the Cowboys/Redskins rivalry.

Exactly, as I’ve said. If Bernie wants to talk about minimum wage issues, I’ll listen but I won’t listen if he wants to talk about the Democratic Party’s strategy for winning elections. I’d change my mind if he joined the party.

And I also worry Russia might easily be able to engineer such an attack should they want trigger such an outcome.

I don’t even think it’s necessary. All the administration needs to do is not act when real terrorists actually do decide to attack.

I still can’t believe so many conservatives are pretending to take him seriously.

There’s going to be violent reactions all over the place, as liberal cities will forcibly resist, then be attacked by the federal LEOs. People will turn on each other and another civil war erupts.

Needless to say, I have little to no confidence that the United States will survive.

I understand you see yourself as a free thinker and that is fine. But there are structures to party politics.

If your contention is that Democrats and Republicans are just a rivalry…then it will be so very easy for you to explain why Bernie didn’t run as an Independent, Libertarian, Green, American, Freedom, etc. candidate. Right? All that rivalry stuff is unneeded. But he chose to join one of the rivals. Why?

This is one of the few things that actually leaves me feeling encouraged.

These people are so very corrupt, and so very overconfident. They genuinely believe they’ve got their Thousand Year Reich, and no one will ever be able to stop them. They’re not trying to hide anything — and they don’t have the brainpower to hide anything if they could. They’re not even considering the possibility of failure. And they don’t have even the shallow competency that the Nazis had.

I think when they fail, it’ll be fucking spectacular. I think a lot of them will end up in prison, a lot of them will end up dead, and a few of them will manage to escape to huddle around Putin for protection.

Not that they won’t manage to fuck things up really, really badly first…

Look at what happens in many third world nations after a corrupt coup happens - they loot like crazy until another coup throws them out. Repeat ad infinitum. The rarity is if a strong enough regime gets in (Cuba) to prevent that cycle; the question is, of course, if the cost of the cure is less than the cost of the disease…

I have an icky icky theory of what Putin has on Trump.

When he was in Moscow for the Miss Universe thing… what’s the odds on FSB being able to find and set him up with a hooker who looks a lot like Ivanka WHEN SHE WAS 11? They instruct her (or Donald instructs her) to call him “daddy”?

That’s a recording that he’d do ANYTHING to avoid having released.

An adult “swallow” who looks like Ivanka? Meh.

You know, it wouldn’t surprise me if they faked up an attack and then utterly tipped their hand.

I like a good debate, wordplay, etc. Keeps me on my toes and thinking…which I like to do as it goes into my song writing, Photoshop creations for our entertainment, and other artistic thinking such as graphic arts ideas, etc.

I guess I see it as way to keep sharp as I get older. And I hope a good back and forth helps others too. Nothing wrong keeping Darth alert either. I hope he feels that way too. Bernie would want it.

Hell, I’d love a good sit down with Bernie, a bottle of aged Scotch and maybe even a nice joint just for the occasion. I bet it could go for hours. That would be a good time to me.

I’m not saying he’s perfect. And do we not fight Trump with him because of his comments about the white middle class still being important? He wasn’t saying, “Fuck people of color.” Not even close.

So what is the purpose of him doing a townhall with Chris Hayes in Kenosha, WI on Monday? It’s being called “All in America: Bernie Sanders in Trump Country.” Is it to stir up more in-fighting among Democrats? To bash Hillary some more post-election?

Trump beat Hillary by just 255 votes in Kenosha (Ron Johnson beat Russ Feingold by 1871 votes there).
