Hey, this Danish guy is really good! A very impressive new track from master shredder Steffen Schackinger, rockin’ the 7/4 time signature with a classically inflected composition.

Classical precision meets uncompromising rock on new album from world class guitarist. Steffen Schackinger belongs to the absolute elite, and his new album ‘Fire Dance’ takes his instrumental guitar music to new heights.

With millions of views on YouTube, a worldwide tour resume and international recognition as a top class guitar player, Steffen Schackinger has established himself as outstanding in his field.

His second solo album, Fire Dance, is no exception. Steffen Schackinger combines precision and timing from his background on the classical scene with the uncompromising expression of rock music.

“I express myself through my guitar, as a singer does with the voice and a painter with a brush. The strings are not limited by language“, says Steffen Schackinger. His first album earned him a spot on the prestigious Guitar on the Edge top 50 of the world’s best guitarists in 2010 ranking 15th. Since then he has been playing guitar clinics throughout Europe and Asia. But now the former Merzy guitarist is once again ready to hit the stage.

The album Fire Dance is published by US label Candyrat Records, and Steffen Schackinger is joined by former Merzy bass player, Henrik Bjørn and drummer Lars Daugaard of the Danish hit orchestra Gnags.

No one is awake? Ok, I love this guy’s talent and technical ability. His band, too. But as a child of the punk scene it leaves me a bit cold. A major talent. I just didn’t get into it.

Step away a minute to draw a brew… I love the way the melody takes us for the walk away from the day we just all endured.

I liked it. May be my classical background?

Reminds me of Scale the Summit. Not quite the same but similar.

I gave the White Rose file out to a couple volunteers for translation. Still waiting, hate to press. Gave it to a local law firm that does immigration cases, they were impressed. Also gave me a quick talk on what the removal of certain executive orders means on the ground. Talk about #Resist, oh my. These people are so on it. You know what they liked? No link to any upstart fund seeking .org but to legit respected places like SPLC.

That’s why I chose groups people will have heard of - perhaps negatively in the case of CAIR but putting them alongside SPLC may cause a consideration they might not have gotten. I’m just a no-body but I can still point the right direction.

Happy Solstice, everyone!

I prefer St. Zappa Day. Today is Frank Zappa’s birthday, he would have been 76 years old.

How in Chtullu’s name do you count off 7/4? I can barely master 4/4.

Frank Zappa can teach folks a thing or two about time signatures. This song starts off in 3/4 and then gets loonier, with FZ explaining the way.

I did. I drew the same conclusion. We all have our ways of loving music. My way here is to appreciate the musicianship. The music itself didn’t move me.
