I don’t know why I do it, but I’m arguing with Bernie Bros on Twitter who *still* won’t admit that they bought into lies about Hillary.

They are defending Putin, claiming there’s no “proof” he was behind the hacking. The claim the DNC “rigged” the primaries, even though they can’t point to a single action they took that changed the results. And they refuse to admit that Bernie attacking Hillary for being “corrupt” helped Trump get elected.

We’re all going to die because my fellow white males are mostly dumb as rocks.

What’s amazing is that Breitbart is all but officially a Trump newspaper. So how is it afforded the designation as a real news source?

A&E cancels “Generation KKK” (AKA “Escaping the KKK”) after learning 3rd party producers provided cash payments to some participants

So, not because it was a terrible, terrible idea that would normalize the freaks; or because people were already planning gigantic boycotts of any company that might consider advertising on the freakshow; but because producers were paying participants in a “reality” show.

Now pull the other one…

As the summer wore on, I became convinced the so-called “Bernie Bros” are really rodent copulators. While I do live in an isolated part of the nation, I have yet to see a Bernie Bro in the wild.

Christmas goose for dinner as my wife and I have been cleaning the geese our ex-mayor brought us yesterday. (That is a tough job since they froze overnight.)

Bookmark this reminder of eight years of insults condensed into just under seven minutes. It’ll be useful when the wingnuts start whining about racism/white genocide, when the inevitable screams of outrage begin about about how their Orange Vulgarian carnival barker should be shown respect once he’s sworn in, and when they say it’s wrong it is to accuse him of fascism & compare him to Hitler or the Antichrist.

The Golden Rule has existed and survived for millennia for a good reason.

Well, I can’t say for the whole country of course, and I am not on social media outlets (other than this one).

During the primaries I supported Senator Sanders, and my county and state went for him. As it became obvious that the senator was not going to win the primaries, all the Democrats in my area who’d supported Sanders over Secretary Clinton swung to her. Thus, I haven’t heard in person any of the Bernie Bro stuff I read at various places.

P.S. Anyone who watches that and still thinks DT’s election was about economics and not racism & bigotry hasn’t been paying attention for the past eight years.

I might argue that for some it was about economics. For many (most?) it was about Wallace 2.0.

While people like you and me might spend a great deal of time parsing every statement or position of every candidate, the overwhelming majority of voters do not. They only get a few clips on television during the news, or perhaps read some coverage in the newspaper.

If the news you happen to follow is FOX, then you might have gotten quite a distorted view of Mr. Trump’s positions. If you read a regional paper like mine, then all you get is conservative talking points. (There was virtually no coverage of the violence at Trump rallies, for example.)

The days of four (later three) major television networks presenting the news are long gone. People have a multitude of places to get news, and folk that want to spin a tale can create a space where someone like Mr. Trump seems to be an unusual but credible candidate (see Sean Hannity).

I never thought that a bill of $1,800 would be something to be relieved over.

So now all I have to do is cook the actual dinner. ;) Much of the prep is done, and I’m getting smart this year and using dishes that actually go in the dishwasher (the Wedgwood I inherited is hand-wash only.) I am so looking forward to dinner.

Saw another farmersonly.com commercial. I think they fill a demographic that I’m sure needed to be targeted, but I also think the site and those commercials can be useful in explaining some things to White people. First, some of the early commercials had some really bad stereotypes of city people; that can be useful in explaining prejudices on both sides. Second, the question can be brought up: Why is there no citiesonly.com? Answer: because all of the rest of the dating sites are. This has direct parallels to Black Lives Matter.

Anymouse  Dec 24, 2016 • 4:02:44pm

Geese are butchered. My wife is attending to them in the kitchen now.

We were cleaning them in the yard when folk started arriving at the church across the street for Christmas Eve services.

Several people wandered over to our yard to say hi to us and wish us happy holidays (not Merry Christmas). They asked a few neighbourly questions (who shot the geese, are you having goose for dinner tomorrow, duck duck goose, &c).

One seven-year old got out of a car, looked across the street at us, wailed “That’s gross” and promptly threw up in the parking lot.

His grandmother chided him “well, how do you think you get meat, from the meat fairy?” (LOL)

Strange coming from a ranching and farming area that would have upset him, but perhaps he hasn’t seen an animal butchered.

He will either become a butcher when he grows up, or a vegetarian.

My, my, my! Now I just wonder what all those right wing Pulpit Pimps are going to say about this? Oh heck! We know what those gasbags will say!

“Gawd forgives AJ and Jason but Hillary is still going to hell for Benghazi”!

And in case you didn’t hear,
Oh by golly Trump’ll give it to you,
Right in…the rear!!!!!

OK, this makes me so happy. I had to look up who “AJ Delgado” was. Score one for cutting the cable news cord!

Just so we have this straight: fomenting fake news about Hillary running a kiddie porn ring out of a DC pizza joint is A-OK.

But if two staffers have an affair (something Donald is likely doing RIGHT NOW), that’s grounds for firing?

re: #200 Charles Johnson

I remember reading that info about the strip club on the night of the debate (I probably read it here). Someone had picked up on it when it happened.

After Carrie Fischer, we had Tucker Carlson beat down pretty good and now some delicious and lascivious Trumpkin Hanky Panky.

The banana nut bread just came out of the over and the pineapple cherry bread will be out in 10 minutes. Next up…German pfefferneusese with actual hartshorn crystals (I had to order from a specialty shop) and let that sit overnight to bake tomorrow.

In the meantime, here is some utterly brilliant Renaissance Christmas music fro the Boston Camerata. This album is on constant repeat in my car…

When archaeologists review our current society millenia from now they must ask themselves ‘how can a society so happy to post photos of cats and puppies annihilate itself?’

I updinged your old comment, and your new comment. Two for the price of one.

Why is it we liberals and/or atheists are consistently painted as immoral? I know zero liberals or atheists that had children with someone not their wife or husband.

I do know several conservatives and/or Christians in that position (and having obtained abortions).

Because the people posting cat pics aren’t attempting to interfere in other people’s lives.

The Philippines is about to get slapped with a super typhoon with winds of 135 knots and wave heights of forty-four feet:

As I recall, President Duterte said he didn’t need our help a few days ago. Betcha he changes his mind… .

As for the people of The Philippines, they have had enough disasters. They need a break.
