Trump Surrogate Jason Miller Backs Out, Then Trump Adviser A.J. Delgado Deactivates Her Twitter Account

A Donald Trump Christmas Eve
Politics • Views: 66,731

Rumors are flying tonight after one of Donald Trump’s main media surrogates, Jason Miller, suddenly announced he was backing out of a position in the Trump administration.

Then, Trump adviser and media surrogate A.J. Delgado suddenly deactivated her Twitter account after a series of cryptic tweets. For example:

(“Deactivating” takes a Twitter account offline, and the user has 30 days to restore it before it’s permanently deleted.)

And there could be a pregnancy involved.

By the way, Delgado and Miller were spotted during the last presidential debate in Las Vegas visiting a strip club together.

According to Page Six, several media members accompanied three Trump advisors this week while they were in Las Vegas for the final presidential debate. Sources state that the group took time before the debate to visit the Sapphire Las Vegas Strip Club, which prides itself on their website for having “70,000 square feet of topless entertainment and serving the finest variety of cocktails, wines, champagne and cigars.”

The Trump campaign staff who reportedly went to Sapphire were Jason Miller, a senior communications advisor, AJ Delgado, a senior advisor (and former Mediaite columnist), and Jessica Ditto, a deputy communications director. The three of them were supposedly accompanied by CNN producer Noah Gray, NBC News’ Anthony Terrell and an unnamed cameraperson with ABC.

What happened in Las Vegas may not have stayed in Las Vegas this time.

Welcome to the Donald Trump presidency. It’s just getting warmed up.

Ok, I know I’m going to get down dings for this, but the world is a strange place when women shave their private parts bald and men grow facial hair as near replica.

My position is really not right in that women (or men, for that matter) should be able to do whatever the heck they want with their bodies. I’m a middle-aged dude who has certain preferences. And I think Miller’s ring-o-face hair looks a bit dumb. But that’s just me.

Ok, but I’m not seeing anything that suggests that Delgado is pregnant. It’s entirely plausible that the “baby daddy” line was a joke (whether people in politics should make that kind of joke is another story). I am just not seeing anything here.

Also, in the age of Trump, I’m not sure the GOP has a claim to family values anymore.

Over at Wonkette’s Dear (redacted) for Brains column (this here Website is a family friendly place), they had a comment string about a person who posted a comment and confused the words “libertarian” and “librarian.”

I had to read that to my wife, the Libertarian Librarian (tm). She got a hoot out of it:

The Librarian

If Joe cannot differentiate between librarians and libertarians, then he’s got issues far greater than being a natural for Shit fer brains. Sorry I missed this one at the time. I would have enjoyed pointing and laughing. Or all capping WRONG!!!!! at him.

msanthropesmr

Librarians know everything
Libertarians know nothing.
Seems pretty simple to tell the two apart to me.

Zippy W Pinhead

librarians will lend you a book

libertarians will bore you to death with a ridiculous speech about the sanctity of private property and refuse to let you have the damned book

msanthropesmr

Librarians say “Let me look that up for you.”
Libertarians say “I have faith that the free market will provide a solution.”

Santa’s Naughty & Nice List Lost in Massive Data Hack (goes to DuffelBlog)

More at DuffelBlog:

NORTH POLE - The world’s largest database of naughty and nice background investigations was compromised by hackers just days before Christmas, sources close to Santa Claus report.

“It’s usually public record if someone has been naughty or nice,” said identity protection specialist Rudolph Klein. “But the information used by the special investigating elves can be pieced together and used for blackmail and identity theft. Santa has considerable surveillance resources and the ability to get down the tiniest chimneys and around the gruffest doormen. This is a lot of data. You better watch out.”

Santa’s list — which was rumored to contain the name of every boy and girl, their special wish for Christmas, and an ongoing scoring rubric of naughty or nice metrics — had been upgraded recently from a scroll of fine parchment to an online database in an effort to save the North Pole thousands of hours of calligraphy and millions of gallons of glitter ink.

While the OPM breach, and Yahoo and Sony account hacks affected millions of people, the Santa hack has the ability to influence billions, sources say.

Reading Fake News, Pakistani Minister Directs Nuclear Threat at Israel

The defense minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, wrote a saber-rattling Twitter post directed at Israel on Friday after a false report — which the minister apparently believed — that Israel had threatened Pakistan with nuclear weapons. Both countries have nuclear arsenals.

“Israeli def min threatens nuclear retaliation presuming pak role in Syria against Daesh,” the minister wrote on his official Twitter account, using an Arabic acronym for the Islamic State. “Israel forgets Pakistan is a Nuclear state too.”

Well, we’re still on tap for a high wind warning tomorrow, with a Winter Storm Warning in the next county to our north. Depending on the precise track of the blizzard moving through the Dakotas, we might also see snow.

It will be a blustery Christmas here:

Tonight
A slight chance of snow and freezing drizzle between 11pm and 4am, then a slight chance of rain, snow, and freezing drizzle after 4am. Patchy fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a temperature falling to near 32 by midnight, then rising to around 39 during the remainder of the night. Southeast wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Christmas Day
Rain and snow, becoming all snow after 3pm. Some thunder is also possible. Patchy fog before 11am. Temperature falling to around 23 by 4pm. Windy, with a south southeast wind 15 to 25 mph becoming west northwest 30 to 40 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Not sure. From the Congressional Research Service (more at the link below):

Israel is the largest cumulative recipient of U.S. foreign assistance since World War II. To date, the United States has provided Israel $124.3 billion (current, or non-inflation-adjusted, dollars) in bilateral assistance. Almost all U.S. bilateral aid to Israel is in the form of military assistance, although in the past Israel also received significant economic assistance. Strong congressional support for Israel has resulted in Israel receiving benefits not available to any other countries; for example, Israel can use some U.S. military assistance both for research and development in the United States and for military purchases from Israeli manufacturers. In addition, U.S. assistance earmarked for Israel is generally delivered in the first 30 days of the fiscal year, while most other recipients normally receive aid in installments, and Israel (as is also the case with Egypt) is permitted to use cash flow financing for its U.S. arms purchases.

The only way that Trump inaugural tweet about President Harrison makes any sense to me is if Mike Pence sent out the tweet.

If that is the case though, that would be a rather ominous sign. It sort of reminds me of the Robert A. Heinlein novel (Revolt in 2100), where a theocrat takes over the government.

The hostess is quite conservative, retired corporate counsel of Mobile Oil in international acquisitions to me, retired professor tree hugging liberal (we became friends 3+ decades ago, along with a couple of other guests, through Mensa). Other guests included an older gay couple (who I totally fell in love with) and Jewish brother and sister (who grew up in Israel) and her Hispanic husband, a veteran. Age range 30ish to at least 80. It was decided early on that politics was a subject best avoided though there were a few telling comments as related to other subjects reflecting viewpoints that spanned the range, though I think none were Trumpistas - it was much too intelligent a group.

It was a delightful evening of great conversation, sharing, and laughter among good people. It’s the world I want to live in. It’s real and it’s still possible.

The Mensa group I associate with (Cheyenne, Wyoming, though my actual group is Nebraska-Western Iowa, which meets four hundred miles away) has a couple Trump supporters (at least before the election, I have not seen them since). We are quite happy to delve into political discussions, challenge each other’s assumptions, present evidence, wow, like a real political discourse rather than the poo flinging on television.

Mensa has always been the most excellent venue for that in my experience. It’s unfortunate that the organization is dying and has been for some years due to a number of reasons, mostly that it just isn’t necessary anymore and it became too intrenched to make the needed changes to keep up with the technological changes in social interaction.

The Russian Tu-154 that crashed into the Black Sea while en route to Latakia was carrying 68 members of the Alexandrov Ensemble, an official Army choir founded during the Soviet Era, sometime in the late 1920s.

They had a performance scheduled for Ostrava early next year.

That’s a damn shame; they were quite popular in this part of the world and their concerts typically sold out.

I got a crap load of apples for Christmas Eve. The Chinese have a tradition of giving apples for Christmas Eve, because the words for Christmas Eve — ping’anye (平安夜, the evening of peace) — sound like pingguo (苹果 - apple). So, my friends and students gave me about a dozen apples — ping’anguo (平安果, the fruit of peace).

So, I decided to make stewed apples, using this recipe.

The only thing I changed was to add about a teaspoon of some locally made mandarin orange vinegar to make the apples “tart.”

I declare the experiment a success.

This recipe just calls for a teaspoon of cinnamon, which was just right AFAIC. I grated some cinnamon bark from the local market. (Though probably it’s cassia bark — Chinese cinnamon.)

I haven’t slept well since election night. Wasn’t a good sleeper before but what has changed is my dreams. Forever my dreams, those I’ve remembered, have had a theme: they were defined by obstacles. They were trying to slog through mud or sand or water or walls to get to a destination, some place or thing I needed to reach but had to fight like hell to get to. Now my dreams are defending attacks. I’m inside trying to defend what I have, my life, my home. It’s interesting in a real creepy, scary kinda way.

So, I’ve been thinking about this for a few days, how or if I should mention it.

A couple was checking out, I noticed the woman, she was in a full-length black…something, the exact name escapes me. But it told me enough.

She sat down on the bench behind me, and I started paying more attention to the customers in front of me, and I hardly paid attention to her at all. My vision basically covered about 300 degree area directly in front of her (there was a wall behind her), my eyes started going to all the other customers looking at faces, hands, looking for bulges in pockets.

I wasn’t afraid of her at all. I was terrified of what the other people might say or do. Nothing at all happened though.

I hate feeling the need to react like that.

Yeah. Merry Christmas, chief.

I’d like to pop him in the nose myself.

One of my freshmen tried to commit suicide last week. Financial pressures and family issues, plus all the stress from being on student council and prepping for classes. She’s on a leave of absence until the next term begins in late February. Howe’s advice would probably make her even more depressed.

One of my wife’s cousins killed himself earlier this month. Early 60’s, broke, wife left him last year, poor health, parents passed away (mother recently) and not much help from siblings. Raised Catholic, lapsed long ago but siblings and parents were/still involved. Looking online, it’s as if he’s still alive. Only one sibling made a reference to it on FB just to note that both their brother and their parents would be missed this Christmas. No obit and nothing in the news at all. That’s how my wife found out about it, in passing on FB.

It’s almost as if they’re embarrassed about it.

I have another story involving another one of the siblings spouses and her son, who was our ring bearer at our wedding a bit over three decades ago. The cousin and his wife are loud and proud Trumphumpers, as are the rest of the cousins in that family. My wife recently saw their son politely smack his Mom down when she posted a proclamation on FB that people like her proudly elected Err Furor and that the Russians had nothing to do with it.

Her son politely responded that since their state went for Hillary that actually, no, her vote did not help to elect Err Furor. She then posted a link to a video attacking Muslims and he responded as a Christian that Christians have no room to talk if she wants to slur all Muslims like she was, and then proceeded to list some less than stellar moments in Christianity as examples. Mom hasn’t responded yet… We’re glad to see that the handsome little guy that held our rings for us has grown up to be a good man, a good husband, a good father and a good example for his kids. I thought his Grandmother was a sweet lady until the day that she said that every single Muslim needed to be deported from our country. The look of hatred in her eyes is something I will never forget.

I’m glad to see the cycle can be broken.

I have even been watching the Neflix series “The Crown” - albeit mostly as background while working in the kitchen - and found parts of it quite compelling - not so much the family melodrama bits, but the political and historical references. Wintston Churchill is also a major character and it follows his last term in office.

Damned shame. Apparently, the plane went down almost right after takeoff - it seems the pilots were trying to turn back to the airport in Sochi. Maybe some kind of catastrophic mechanical failure right after rotation, or perhaps too much back pressure on rotation (I’ve read that can cause a tailstrike or cause a plane to stall and crash).

In any event, a sad loss for Russia. My condolences to their families.

If they were too low and stalled either both wings, or one wing in a sharp turn, the plane will go down fast. Not enough altitude to recover. It’s a common error for inexperienced pilots, so it’s unfortunate military pilots would have made a similar mistake.

Mechanical problems might be more likely if the crew were experienced.

It’s true, too. Once you have enough altitude, a good pilot can survive most any emergency — aside from losing both wings or dealing with a fire onboard. But emergencies close to the ground can be more perilous.

Chesley Sullenberger dead-sticked his plane into the Hudson River from an altitude of only 2,800 feet. They were trying to route him either back to LGA or Teterboro on the other side of the river, and he knew he was too low to make either safely.

I binged through all of the second season of The Man in the High Castle. Really enjoyed it. They managed to leave the core of the original Phillip K. Dick novel intact while adapting and building on it for the series.

darthstar  Dec 25, 2016 • 6:18:21am

So whenever we had Xmas get togethers, the nieces and nephews when they were younger would put on little after dinner shows - usually disorganized look at me I’m so cute fests. My sister has always encouraged these in her two daughters - both now in high school - and it’s nice to see them growing out of it, though last night she said the youngest had written a song and could we not leave until after she sang it.

Well, it being Xmas I agreed. After dinner the girl went to the baby grand piano - something that’s been a prop in my sister’s house for close to 20 years (she took piano lessons when she was a little girl so bought it for her kids to learn one day)…this surprised me as honestly I’ve never seen anyone touch that piano.

And she started playing.
And she was good.
She sang two covers to warm up her fingers and her voice - on I think was an Adele song - sad, pathetic, romantic, but pretty. The other was a song called ‘Beautiful” which I’ve heard before…kind of a Tori Amosy kind of empowerment ballad.

Then she sang her original song. I videotaped it with my phone…if I get it online I”ll post it in a private message. It was called ‘Bittersweet’ and it was lovely, albeit a bit depressing as it was a break-up song. But she’s got this wonderfully deep resonant voice and I was pretty much stunned.

After she finished, I said, “Wow, the after dinner Xmas talent shows just got raised to another level.”

It’s fun watching nieces blossom into beautiful young women. I worry less about her now.

Beef short ribs with broth and red wine in the pressure cooker for the gravy. Rib roast has been at 130 degrees in the water bath since late last night. I’m thinking a finishing blast at 550+ for a few minutes and the roast is good to go. Dressing and cranberry compote made and ready. Sweet potatoes, finger potatoes, and some purple potatoes in olive oil and honey will roast in that hot oven while the roast is resting. Sourdough bread to mop up any gravy that escapes.

I don’t say it nearly enough, but you folk are one of the few bright spots in my travels around the Internet. I really appreciate you all putting up with me these last six years or so. It’s also turning out to be a trying Xmas this year in South Jersey. The jerk below keeps trying to eat my brand new thermal socks. Really galling, considering we don’t charge him any rent.

Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area on this holiday weekend. It’s a beautiful day here. The sun is shining, kids are excited that they’re getting gifts, and many are focused on family, faith, and the future.

I wish the future were all bright and shiny, but the incoming Trump administration continues to show it to be anything but bright, all while fixated on shiny things (both those things that aren’t bolted down) and knowing that many Americans (and most of his supporters) can be distracted by shiny things.

Trump’s surrogates had themselves an affair? They had to quit key communications jobs in the incoming administration?

They apparently have far more judgment, character, and integrity than the guy who they were willing to work and lie for. Pathetic but true. And yeah, I also know it’s a damned low bar.

Trump lied, cheated, and objectified women throughout his life. He admits as much, on multiple occasions. Didn’t matter to his supporters or the people working for him. That includes his comms people who lied and obfuscated about what Trump did and continues doing.

This is who’s coming in to the Office of the President in January. It’s going to get real.

Ego.

Pure ego.

He has no feelings towards his family. There’s no warmth there. No empathy. We see it in every interaction and every utterance and policy statement. His family is a tool he used and continues using, and he didn’t think to include them here.

He made the conscious decision not to include a family photo of the soon to be first family.

Right after we got him, I was in the backyard when he stopped to scratch behind his ear. He lost his balance and promptly fell on his side.

Merry Christmas from chilly Los Angeles this morning. Frost on the cars out front and all 3 felines are of a cuddlly way. Even had one slip under the covers last night. So I woke up to a rather ticklish sensation. Swishy cat tail was an interesting way to wake up. All at once wake up.

Looking out of my window here on Normandie Ave and the palm leaves and date pits are scattered all over the sidewalks and streets. And wow, that sky is now a different color—blue…

ACTUAL FIRE HOSE? What is Scout? A Tarrasque?

He has a single-minded determination to destroy the toy. You can almost see him sizing it up and looking for the weakest seam. Once he finds it, it’s all over.

We also got him a hard rubber ball with crackly plastic inside. That’s next.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Felicitous Festivus, Contented Kwanzaa and a hearty Bah! Humbug! to all of you. (Eggs with thick bacon for breakast, tortelloni with pesto and bockwurst for holiday dinner.)

Thirteen versions of A Christmas Carol on DVD, and last night I watched the pilot and the first two episodes of Star Trek DS9 — having just finished binge-watching the entire series. And maybe I’ll just do it again! I did watch the Santa Clause, so there’s that.

Every Christmas Eve I watch the definitive movie that truly expresses the Ayn Randian ethos at this time of year—John Waters’ “Female Trouble”. The moral of the story is simple—get your daughter those cha cha heels for Christmas or else she turns to a life of crime…

I know I should have followed my goal of not reading too much political stuff to ruin the holiday. I broke it. Then I saw this “map” with the states that voted for Hillary minus the states that did not.

Maybe it is just me letting stuff affect me too much, but I really do not like this kind of thinking.

What? Are the people that voted for Hillary but live in the states that didn’t go her way supposed to not have a Merry Christmas?

Is Columbus and Franklin County Ohio, which turned out more votes for Clinton than Obama got in the previous 2 elections, not deserving, or are we to uproot our entire city and move it east into Pennsylvania.

If that is a Christmas greeting…Bah Humbug. You are not helping (directed at the person that created that map) and may you enjoy your lump of coal.

(Well, that wasn’t very cheery…sorry)

Hey, kids:

Just wanted to drop a Merry Xmas, Happy Hanukah, Blessed Ramadan, Grudgingly Acknowledged Festivus, and anything else I missed to the LGF community at large.

I don’t say it nearly enough, but you folk are one of the few bright spots in my travels around the Internet. I really appreciate you all putting up with me these last six years or so. I always question what, if any, value I bring to the party here, but I do appreciate Charles and everyone letting me hang out.

It’s also turning out to be a trying Xmas this year in South Jersey. The jerk below keeps trying to eat my brand new thermal socks. Really galling, considering we don’t charge him any rent.

Enjoy your day, everyone!

Merry Christmas, happy Hanukkah & all other happy holidays,

My son is here, I’ve cleaned up the shredded wrapping paper, & his new to him cheap but usable for school/web/email/youtube laptop (an ASUS X540sa) is charging before getting set up but he’s occupied with Legos Avengers on his new Nintendo 2DS. Meanwhile Dad is playing with his new 40-150 f/4-5.6 zoom (eq to 80-300 on full frame) and 8mm f/8 fisheye body cap lenses for my Olympus E-P3 micro 4/3 system. Funzies.

Got a ham in the crock pot, covered in apple juice, & a big ol’ tater baking in the oven.

All is good for today.

A little Christmas cheer; for Trumpists, that is. Brexists can join in the festivities, since these were British tests:

The object in the pelican’s grasp is a grappling hook rather than an anchor, since the tests were known as Operation Grapple.
The bird itself specifically represents the American White pelican (Pelecanus erythrorhynchos) which WAS native to the area.

WASHINGTON - Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chair Sharon Day released the following statement celebrating Christmas:

“Merry Christmas to all! Over two millennia ago, a new hope was born into the world, a Savior who would offer the promise of salvation to all mankind. Just as the three wise men did on that night, this Christmas heralds a time to celebrate the good news of a new King. We hope Americans celebrating Christmas today will enjoy a day of festivities and a renewed closeness with family and friends.

King Donald has been proclaimed by the RNC. Everybody bow down.

We had one like that - our much-missed Daisy. I picked up a chew toy that was supposed to last nearly forever. In five minutes it was destroyed. But she did have one stuffed animal - it was a stuffed bunny that my wife had had since she was a little kid - with which she was very gentle and loving. She would carry it around with a very soft mouth, and ever-so-lightly scriff it. Sadly, we had to take it away when Otto came along, because he did not treat it so gently.

I understand. I lump it in with all the secession and civil war talk. What we need right now is more coming together…not coming apart. And I have never understood politics that plays on dividing, seems to be against so much of what I thought this country was all about.

Sure, this is not new, but damn Trump won on that thinking.

It sounds like the RNC is trying to defend it by saying that we celebrate the arrival of the king every Christmas, but their statement only mentions ‘that night’, and ‘this Christmas’. They said something incredibly stupid (and revealing) and now they’re scrambling to cover their pasty asses.

Don’t they always demonstrate how out of touch they are? A lot of times they just try too hard to cover up their lack of empathy as a party. So, they overcompensate and look foolish. Then they try to clean it up after they expose their asses.

BigPapa  Dec 25, 2016 • 11:40:00am

I don’t see it as secession or civil war talk. Though I’ve seen some of that, which I think is ridiculous. If Trump is so horrible we’re abandoning all the others to suffer under his rule. And it’s acting like them.

The problem I have with coming together is it’s hard to reconcile coming together with a party and ideology based on divisiveness and hate. If one party is for low taxes and one party for higher taxes, hey, no bigs if one party won. But the election is based on so much more: I cannot ‘come together’ with people who promote misogyny, xenophobia, the loss of gains made by underprivileged, and the destruction of our government.

There just will not be any coming together on that. It’s not negotiable. No can.

Yeah, that is all true. I guess I still see the election of Trump by some people that were ignorant and fell into that bullshit about they just wanted “change.” They aren’t part of the people you describe, at least not in my thinking.

Some of them actually voted for Obama and I guess I see some of those types as salvageable.

A whole bunch of people are going to find out they screwed up. If Democrats want to get back on track and even come close to taking house and senate seats in two years or in four when everyone needs to dump any idea of Trump, they are going to need a lot of those people and others that might not meet purity tests to help do it.

So much of politics these days seem to be fighting over the politically ignorant. A whole group of voters aren’t at all well-informed and just do too much gut reaction, last minute voting. They really aren’t the dyed-in-the-wool wingnuts and deplorables. And they make up numbers that can swing votes. It just happened…big lea(gue)!
