Trump Horror, Day 13: Trump Threatens to Invade Mexico, Bullies Aussie PM, Eases Sanctions on Russian Spies

Trump, his advisers and his family ask for the Lord’s guidance on how best to wreck the world

Some of that mess in the title actually happened yesterday, and it isn’t even all of it.

The Trump gang denied this last night.

But today they’re admitting it happened, but claiming Trump was just “joking.” Because we know what a great sense of humor the Pussy-Grabber in Chief has, after all.

Also yesterday, in his busy schedule of alienating world leaders, the Trump-thing bullied and threatened and hung up on the Prime Minister of Australia.

And the final item in our headline may be the most disturbing of all.

Chaffetz demanded that ranking member Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), who has introduced legislation to establish an independent commission on the matter, answer directly whether he supported a probe into the DCCC hack in Oversight.

“I think the thing that I’m most concerned about is that we cannot just turn a blind eye when we have 17 intelligence agencies who unanimously agree [that Russia interfered in the U.S. elections],” Cummings said. “You and I know what happened with the Benghazi Committee — it became a partisan fight.”

“The gentleman’s time is expired here. You’re going well outside the scope of this discussion—” an impatient Chaffetz cut in.

“I’m not. No, I’m not. I would pray that you not — don’t do that,” Cummings shot back.

The committee’s two leading members continued to talk over one another.

“I just want an answer to a simple question—” Chaffetz said.

“I’ve answered it. I’ve told you, yes,” Cummings said.

“I’m gonna ask one more time—”

“I just answered you—” a visibly annoyed Cummings snapped. “I just answered you. You’re not listening!”

Even if he was “joking” which I hardly believe he actually was, that’s not something to fucking joke about especially when there’s a language barrier and already a contentious relationship. Trump is going to cause a huge international incident or maybe even a war over his stupid sense of humor before this mess is over.

Obama will be the forever evergreen excuse for Trump. Never mind that Trump acted foolishly in both cases. That’s all he does. He acts like he’s the smartest guy in the room, when he’s truly the biggest bully in the room and everyone plays duck and cover to avoid getting hit (literally and figuratively).

80% of the time you tell a fascist to fuck gravel, the response is a variation of “how tolerant!”

It is one thing to call someone a Fascist indiscriminately because you disagree with them, but when they actively embrace the philosophy, then you need to call them out with all the force necessary to shut them the f*ck up.

My thoughts about Milo Y that I posted on another message board:

Let’s make this clear: Milo is NOT a free speech activist. People who hide under the “free speech” banner to propagate hatred, intolerance, fascism, and bigotry are nothing but charlatans.

Okay, so his straight fanboys claim he can’t be fascist because he’s gay….never mind the fact that being a homosexual has not prevented one from joining fascist movements in the past few decades. Human beings are rather irrational creatures at times and will tend to do things that are against their interests.

Milo, in spite of being gay, has spoken against legalizing gay marriage in the West, outed a transgender student by publishing a photo of the victim while undergoing transition and mocked the student in front of a large audience, believes in gay conversion therapy, and proved to be a misogynist when he admitted his homosexuality was a result of “crazy broads”.

He has also been in support of conservative Christians who have been in the forefront of denying people their hard-earned LGBT rights. He uses Muslim homophobia as a cudgel to attack Muslims, but refuses to denounce the anti-LGBT behavior that is endemic in Russia and Brazil. He was nowhere to be found in 2013 when other activists denounced Russia for beginning to implement anti-LGBT policies of “gay propaganda”.

He is also a conman who refused to pay his staff after his web site venture on tech news went under, and scammed his supporters with donations to his “charity” with no oversight whatsoever.

Much of his fanbase consist of overweight dudebros who wouldn’t look out of place at a Reddit meetup anyways and they’re more concerned with sticking it to liberals and their feminist allies than instituting actual change. Very, very few homosexuals in the community support him, and consider him to be a quisling if anything.

Sooner or later, Milo Y will end up in the same fate as Pakistani politician Imran Khan did when it came to coddling conservative religious fanatics: they will turn against you and beat you because you’re still not on their level.

The reaction to his speaking events show that bullies are to be dealt with in the same manner they provide to their opponents. Anyone who think Milo is a victim should go tell that to the transgender student who was outed” at his speaking events at UW Milwaukee.

If the reaction was wrong, I suppose the reaction by anti-fascists at the Battle of Cable Street in 1936 was also wrong too.

Many of the Tweeters on that posting made a good point; “liberal” means something quite different in the rest of the world than it does in the USA. It’s possible Trump just heard the PM Turnbull was from the Liberal Party and simply assumed it meant that he’s left of center.

And here’s something else. I’ve given this a lot of thought too.

If you put someone with no related experience in a position that usually requires some that person is left with two options:

1) Seek guidance and mentoring from people who DO have the experience and understand what the role entails.

2) Decide to basically “make it up as you go along” and do what you want. This is even worse if you have no practical oversight (i.e. The person or entity that’s supposed to be keeping you in check isn’t bothering to do so).

It’s a recipe for disaster. It’s been seen many times before in private corporations. Now we’re seeing it unfold at the highest levels of the Federal Government.

Never has the term “dangerously incompetent” been more prescient.

Seeing Milo’s whine and “demand” that America “fix” this aka protests of him since one of my high school friends liked it. Sigh. I really don’t want to hear it especially from Trump supporting Milo who actually is censoring federal employees. The student body of UC had every right to protest Milo and Milo chose UC because he knew the reaction he would get it. He didn’t choose a school with a conservative reputation. He knew he’d get the reaction he get. Milo can kiss my liberal ass. He’s no defender of the 1st amendment. He’s a fascist little weasel who hates liberals more than he has a real ideology and has a deep self-loathing for himself as a gay fascist that he takes out on everyoen else.

Why, yes, I no longer want my bottle. Joking aside. Aren’t these the same people who literally think McCarthy was right to go after people for being Communist sympathetic in the greatest period of economic turmoil in our nation’s history. Yes, people do change in 30 years but I definitely think something like this is relevant especially since Trump has ties to the fascist right and Gorsuch’s mother was a Reagan administration official while he was doing this.

My friend was in Iraq but stop acting like your ideology has a monopoly on loving our country. Patriotism doesn’t belong to either party or ideology. Exactly. The way some of my friends and wingnut distant relations talk about liberals, it’s like they’ve never met one before. I don’t see myself as a radical at all. I’m a boring, center left liberal. I like capitalism but I also see that it’s not the perfect system that many free market purists see it as. I don’t see the government as an evil but I don’t see it as my savior either. I do see it as a reflection of the people of this country because that’s what it is. Know a firefighter? Know a soldier? Know a teacher? That’s the govenrment too. Not just those distant bureaucrats you love to hate on, many of whom are vets due to policies that give vets preference and conservatives have the nerve to suggest that liberals don’t appreciate veterans when we’re the ones who pushed the GI Bill while they had many who opposed it.

Dear [redacted]:

Foster Opposes Yet Another Attempt by House Republicans
to Restrict a Woman’s Right to Choose

I am writing to let you know that I recently voted against, H.R.7, which was another attempt by House Republicans to restrict a woman’s right to choose. H.R. 7 would prevent private insurance companies from offering plans that cover abortion services on the Affordable Care Act exchanges and would even dictate what kind of insurance small businesses can offer their employees by withholding tax benefits from businesses that offer comprehensive coverage. As a result, countless women and small businesses would be denied access to affordable health insurance, or would be forced to purchase plans without comprehensive coverage.

The importance of allowing a woman to make her own healthcare decisions is paramount, regardless of where she works or how she is insured. This is an inherently private decision that should be made by a woman and her doctor, not the government, and the United States Supreme Court has long recognized as much. Still, the House Republican Leadership continues to pursue an aggressive, anti-choice agenda. Instead of taking our country backwards, we should act on legislation to create jobs, fix our broken immigration system, and raise the minimum wage.

Demographics. How do they fucking work.

GOP presumes they can magically make the economy grow and that their budgets are predicated on magic growth. But even the CBO is warning that retirements and a smaller workforce (even smaller if Trump gets his way and enacts all the various immigration bans he seeks) would actually blow out the annual deficits.

The deficits are expected to grow above 3% of GDP after 2019, in part because of an insufficient labor force associated with retiring baby boomers, and the continued growth in spending, CBO Director Keith Hall told the House Budget Committee.

The nonpartisan office based its projections on the assumption on current laws remaining in place; the agency does not speculate on the effect of proposed legislation on the deficit.

Democrats on the committee argued that immigrants would help the labor market, citing a CBO report in 2015 that said an inclusive U.S. immigration policy would have a net positive impact on the federal budget.

Hall said the actual result of immigration reform will vary from different proposals and on whether the U.S. attracts more skilled workers than unskilled workers.

“It [immigration] does affect labor supply, and that labor supply does help GDP grow,” Hall said.

Agriculture and the restaurant sector are highly dependent on immigrant labor, to say nothing of the high tech sector. Without immigrants, there’d be huge shortfalls in workers - meaning higher costs, fewer restaurants and businesses, and fewer tech developments.

These aren’t just the “jobs Americans wont/can’t do” but jobs there simply aren’t enough Americans around to do. That also increases wage pressures, slows innovation, and undermines the so called MAGA bullshit streaming forth from Trump twits.

They’ve also been known to shout the occasional racist slur at our black team members. I’ve also been known to have security throw those kids out of the game.

Off topic, but we take our humor where we find it these days.

cincinnati.com reports that Chabot posted a meme on his own homepage this week that featured a quote from top Trump strategist Steve Bannon’s earlier tirade against the news media in which he told the press corps to “keep its mouth shut.”

While there was nothing inherently anti-Semitic in Bannon’s original quote, the meme itself deployed the anti-Semitic “echo” symbol to attack the media as part of a broader Jewish conspiracy.

“The (((media))) here is the opposition party,” the meme read in part. “They still don’t understand why Donald Trump is president of the United States. The (((elite media))) got it dead wrong.”

Chabot spokesman Brian Griffith tells cincinnati.com that Chabot had originally found the image through a Google search, and he didn’t know it came from a white supremacist website. He also said that Chabot’s staff removed the meme as soon as they learned about its offensive nature.

“Rep. Chabot doesn’t have an anti-Semitic bone in his body, and anybody that has followed his record over the years knows that,” Griffith explained. “He’s been one of the staunchest defenders of Israel in Congress. This unfortunate error shouldn’t be detracting from that.”

Quickly scanned it - there’s a couple of typos, but otherwise - well done!

It needs a photo too, because I’m figuring Charles might promote this one…

Please point out the typos for me. I did it in Word, and nothing showed, so I am taking it they are correct spellings but wrong words and the like.

Does DT have schizophrenia?

Yeah, wasn’t he saying the exact opposite last week?

Or did I imagine that?

He was doing nothing while Bibi built more settlements and the admin talked about moving the capital. I totally expect him to flop though again when Bibi shouts at him.

Of course, the Fundies may not care since he seems ready to destroy the Johnson Amendment.

That Martin County coal slurry video I posted earlier…that happened in 2008. The nearby streams and groundwater wells are still polluted from that.

He’s probably just pissed that the settlements are taking up prime spots for more Trump hotels.

How awful. I tell you one of the biggest things that grinds me about this vote is the states that could benefit from the Obama rule the most are ones that Senators vote for this kind of stuff. You would hope that Manchin could vote like a Democrat on at least this one issue though as I said it really shouldn’t be a partisan issue.

Longtime lurker, first time poster here. I recently visited my family back on the Mainland and was appalled to hear that one of my family members has been the subject of anti-Semitic bullying at his junior high school. Chants of “heil Hitler” and singing a song about gassing Jews in Auschwitz. So far his parents have not received a satisfactory response from the superintendent, and his father is a high-powered lawyer…so we shall see. I am writing to the superintendent as a graduate of the school system, which happens to be a top rated district of the finest “old money.” Can you guess the state - of course you can! Texas.
