This is the ultimate victory for Breitbart: an unsubstantiated story gets retweeted by the President and now it is being treated as it it actually had some merit of its own.

And it is now a matter of RWNJ faith that Obama illegally wiretapped Trump, there is nothing that can be said or done that will get them to do anything but double down on it.

Trump supporters have jobs! They can’t just take a day off and protest!

This happened on a Saturday.

Well. Um………Soccer. Kids’ soccer. You know, their kids had soccer practice!

He only ran for President because Obama ridiculed him at the WHCD.

CNN can be really irritating at times.

How can you interview Stephen Moore on Trump’s economic plans without also including a liberal economist who actually understands the effect of Trump’s proposals.

I reckon Roger Stone or Carter Page will be the key to all of this. They’ll roll over and take a deal rather than stick with the “President”. I am sure they were cut outs doing the deals without officially being a part of his team, but I’m also sure they have evidence as a safety blankets.

I’m almost convinced that the bee in Trump’s bonnet is the same one that’s been there for weeks: This paranoid idea that the entire investigation into his Russian connections is a shadowy conspiracy initiated by Obama and carried out by his confederates in the intel community. That the goal is to destroy the legitimacy of his election by saying that he only won because of Russian interference. This wiretapping story just fuels that paranoia by making him believe that the whole conspiracy began before the election even happened. After all, his last press conference of the campaign was immediately after the DNC hacking story came out, when he suggested aloud that Russia should release hack the DOJ and get ahold of the “missing” 30,000 Clinton emails.

PhillyPretzel  Mar 5, 2017 • 1:12:24pm

I am back from getting signatures. Let’s see I had two complaints that the cops are not coming to take care of disturbances but they come fast when someone has lost their identity. Another neighbor does not want what I am “selling.” One neighbor is now cancer free (I am happy to hear this news.) All in all not too bad.

Or it could be just classic deflection: to sidetrack any investigations into his actions and focus on others. Let’s have multiple investigations into Obama to avoid anything that might uncover his unsavory activities. The House will certainly cooperate with that objective, unless enough comes out to jeopardize their reelection next year.

That’s assumes a level of deviousness that we’ve not really seen from Trump, and is at odds with the reports that insiders are basically trying to talk him down from the ledge. He seems absolutely convinced that Obama is the center of all his problems and if he can prove such, then his problems will magically go away. Queeg’s convinced if he can find that duplicate key, he’ll be able to prove somebody stole the strawberries from the officer’s mess.

WASHINGTON — The F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, asked the Justice Department this weekend to publicly reject President Trump’s assertion that President Barack Obama ordered the tapping of Mr. Trump’s phones, senior American officials said on Sunday. Mr. Comey has argued that the highly charged claim is false and must be corrected, they said, but the department has not released any such statement.

See, Trump has gone farther than before. He’s no longer questioning the impartiality of the intel services or suggesting that the FBI is acting in a partisan fashion. He’s now accusing the FBI of engaging in illegal activities by either conducting a warrantless wiretap or violating the boundaries of a warranted one. And he’s suggesting that Comey either knew about such and did nothing or that he didn’t know and so has no control over his own fiefdom.

Something’s gonna give and I suspect that it will be Comey remaining tight-lipped about the FBI’s Russian investigations.

I still wonder why Breitbart just ran with this false assertion when it’s been out there for months and would be enjoyed by his base at any point. Could be they are just getting around to it. But I tend think people involved are scared something is about to break and are drastically prepping their cover conspiracy.

What’s the over/under on Drumpf’s tenure in office? Even if the evidence against him is not currently enough to impeach, you just know there’s no way he will finish his first term without committing an impeachable offense.

Especially when it was just two weeks ago that word got out that the White House tried to get the FBI to squash reports about communications between Russia and the Trump campaign, including going to Comey himself and asking the FBI to tell the press that the reports were baseless.

So, am I reading this correctly? The head of the FBI is denying that there were any “Obama wiretaps”; most intel people willing to go on record (like Clapper) deny that there were any “Obama wiretaps”; President Obama himself has denied it; all but the most toadyish official Republicans have, at best, had to punt on the “issue” - and that only for public consumption. So what credibility does Trump, or his Admin, have left?
