German reporter asks Trump about “Fake News” and isolationism.

He denies he’s an isolationist & complains about how “unfair” everyone is to him.

From downstairs.
One more thing to add to the list of how half-assed this administration approaches every damn task

Appearing at a luncheon with Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny on Thursday, Trump said: “As we stand together with our Irish friends, I’m reminded of that proverb — and this is a good one, this is one I like. I’ve heard it for many, many years and I love it.

‘Always remember to forget the friends that proved untrue. But never forget to remember those that have stuck by you.’”

“We know that, politically speaking. A lot of us know that, we know it well. It’s a great phrase,” Trump added.

But many Irish tweeters pointed out that they had never heard Trump’s proverb before.

And, low and behold, if you Google the phrase, “famous Irish proverb,” the quote pops up as one of the first results — complete with a shamrock.

Trump in mentioning indirectly his meeting with Republicans today, probably was referring to this:

GOP speeding toward vote on altered healthcare bill

The Trump administration and House GOP leaders are making two significant changes to their ObamaCare replacement bill as they seek to add to their whip count ahead of a critical Thursday vote.

The White House on Friday won support from conservative Republican Study Committee (RSC) leaders by agreeing to give states the option to impose work requirements on Medicaid recipients and to block grant Medicaid instead of the cap system in the bill.

GOP leaders are using the RSC endorsement — and new words of support from President Trump — to try to build momentum for the measure.

re: #72 Barefoot Grin

I only learned a couple of German phrases when I went there to visit my bro: (sp?) “ein bier, bitte”; “danke”.

I wonder if one would actually hear the word “dummkopf” among the German delegation today.

Probably not. More like Scheisskopf.

Sure, we’re news-aholics here so we tend to watch everything hourly… and I guess that makes us weird.

But so many of our fellow Americans “find out” this or that item not only days after it happens but sometimes weeks.

I’ll read the full article later, but this is the group Perez has chosen to restructure the DNC:

To guide the transition, DNC Chair Perez had selected a 30-member committee. These include former Alaska Sen. Mark Begich, Black Lives Matters activist Deray McKesson, former South Carolina Gov. and DNC Chair Don Fowler, undocumented immigrant activist Astrid Silva, former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, Bernie Sanders’ ally Rep. Pramila Jayapal, Pete Buttegieg, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana (who also ran for the DNC chairmanship), and former DNC Chair and Vice Chair candidates Sally Boynton Brown and Jehmu Greene

Bwahh… I received today a “takedown” notice from Youtube … of a short video clip I posted seven years ago, in a youtube account I had forgotten about that was just for playing around.

I guess some corporate weenie must have finally found that I posted a couple of minutes of a show that otherwise no one will ever remember.

Have I mentioned how much I love module based video training?

“Hey I went and took the final quiz, scored 97%, you can go ahead and mark me as complete.”

“Sorry, we can’t do that, because you didn’t complete the 32 hours of video training.”

“But I passed the test.”

“But you didn’t watch all the videos required to pass the test.”

“I downloaded the course curriculum, read the materials, and passed the test.”

“But you didn’t watch the videos.”

So, I currently have about 7 different browser windows open playing various training videos on mute going on.

Fortunately we have the luxury of choosing between two viable options in the upcoming election. There is no need for Merkel to hang on for the good of the free world; you can bet that Trump will probably like Martin Schulz even less.

It’s a kind of “We’re not Alt-Right, Ur Alt-Left! Hah, take that libtards!” lame wingnut argument.

150
Rocky-in-Connecticut  Mar 17, 2017 • 1:18:06pm

So I guess the answer is Yes, it is a 3rd grade schoolyard brand of humor common with the right wing universe. Next joke- pushing a nerdy kid over a toadie crouching down behind him to be followed by snapping the bra strap of that 4th grade girl who is developing early.
