and he should be….

we have Trump tied financially to multiple Russian sources, some allegedly mobbed up…

His various campaign staff on the job working with Wikileaks and the FSB for the hacking of the DNC and Clinton campaign. Coordination of that “data” to various members of the FBI sympathetic to his election and GOP Congressional members to continue to press on that data as soon as it was released to the public.

All in all, a well coordinated campaign of misinformation, slander and deceit, coordinated with sitting members of the GOP and the media…

I’ll be amazed if there’s anyone left on the GOP side in a position of power who wasn’t either compromised or complicit… that’s how deep I believe that this runs…

I’m honestly really troubled by Sanders becoming a litmus test for people. You’re getting this from someone who works for a gubertorial candidate Bernie endorsed too. And the Gorsuch nomination was pretty much a formality since McConnell gift wrapped that crap the minute he blocked Judge Garland. All Trump had to do was to pick someone acceptable to the right. Did the Tea Party really work for them? Right now the Tea Party is a pain in the butt to the entire GOP.

I am watching Chris Hayes tonight as my politics TV news for the evening. He was talking with Jennifer Rubin and another guy (I didn’t catch his name) that effectively the Freedom Caucus* has made the Democrats the majority in Congress.

Their thinking is because the standard crazy Republicans can’t muster a majority because the Freedom Caucus is even crazier and won’t work with them, the normal Republicans are forced to work with Democrats to get anything through the house. Example: The Budget Bill.

That gives power to the Democrats who outnumber the normal Republicans minus the Freedom Caucus.

So it is really not working because the Freedom Caucus isn’t getting anything done either.

2020 is going to be extremely important. I have to admit I was a little nervous had Clinton won this past year that the fickle people of this country may have given the GOP power in 2020 because they would figure that 12 years is too long for any party to be in power in the executive office. Not that it makes the results of this past November any better.

A Cranky One  May 2, 2017 • 6:19:59pm

The lilacs have been in bloom all week and the flower show continues in Mrs Cranky’s garden, with “historic” tulips and white tulips putting in an appearance. Sadly, it’s been raining and overcast for about a week, limiting our ability to enjoy the sights and smells. Matches my mood. I know there is good and beauty out there, but it’s all overwhelmed with deary.

Having said that, I have found that the best way to mitigate my disgust, fear, pain and dreary mood about the current administration is to give help and joy to those more painfully impacted. When I heard the news about Aminah/CL, I decided to commit an act of kindness on her behalf, and did so. I found it cathartic both as a tribute and as a response to the current environment. In fact, it motivated me to devote several hours a weekend providing similar help and support. And to honor Aminah I’ve reached out to the immigrant and Muslim communities to find folks who need the kinds of help I can provide.

There is beauty and joy out there. Let’s plant the seeds that will survive the winter and bloom in the spring.

Full Colbert rant

“Mr. Trump, your presidency? I love your presidency. I call it Disgrace the Nation. You’re not the POTUS. You’re the BLOATUS. You’re the glutton with the button. You’re a regular Gorge Washington. You’re the presi-dunce, but you’re turning into a real prick-tator. Sir, you attract more skinheads than free Rogaine. You have more people marching against you than cancer. You talk like a sign language gorilla who got hit in the head. In fact, the only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin’s cock holster. Your presidential library is going to be a kids’ menu and a couple of Juggs magazines. The only thing smaller than your hands is your tax returns, and you can take that any way you want.”

Citizen K  May 2, 2017 • 7:41:59pm

Two days.

I lasted two days. I tried to disconnect. I really did. This shit makes me depressed.

But what makes me more depressed is how nigh-impossible it is to escape it. Even trying to wrap myself up in games and Netflix, it doesn’t matter. Incidental conversation, online or in-person, a random alert here or there, or even just overheard things on the street, it’s fucking everywhere.

And it seems to have only gotten worse, and worse, and worse. Just…fuck it. Crucify Hillary and Obama. Outlaw the Democratic party at this rate. I know the fuckers want to. Just ban all the liberals, brown people, atheists, Muslims, etc. Apparently it’s all better than daring to have someone less pure than fucking Bernie Sanders as nominee, because the media just fucking LOOOOOOOOOOVES them some Trump and the GOP now, because god help them, it lets them indulge in all the fucking Hippie Punching they want, while the ones who might actually count hippies among their crowd are busy burning down the fucking house and ensuring what may be a fucking permanent GOP rule for-fucking-ever.

And now Stephen Colbert, the one sole highlight of my aborted hiatus (outside of Jimmy Kimmel’s amazing monologue), is now becoming persona non grata, and no matter what we do, he’s probably going to be turned toxic as well.

I hate feeling like I’m drowning in futility, but that’s what it feels like at this point. I feel like there’s absolutely no fucking light at the end of this shitty tunnel, no matter how hard we fight, because the rest of the fucking country has already decided we are the great evil to be buried forever, and letting pure contrarian spite win the day, and hey, why fucking not, the media will tell us we’re wrong on fucking everything anyways, fo YAY, AMERICA IS GREAT AGAIN, LONG AS WE SHIV THE CLINTON BITCH AND CRUCIFY THE BLACK PRESIDENT!

I fucking hate everything.

:D

My favorite cowbell thing is the intro to Honky Tonk Women. Jimmy Miller (I believe) starts out with a cowbell riff and then Charlie comes in with the drums, but Charlie comes in as if the cowbell riff starts on the 1. Jimmy Miller is actually hearing it as if the riff starts on the ‘and’ between 1 ‘and’ 2. By the time the vocal come in, the cowbell riff is back to where the cowbell player wanted it to be.

I guess it’s the kind of thing only a drummer playing in a cover band would notice.
