Donald Trump Threatens Fired FBI Director on Twitter; Comey “Hopes There Are Tapes”

Politics • Views: 37,475

In the latest increasingly unhinged episode of The Trump Horror, this morning our so-called president woke up, grabbed his phone, and tweeted a vicious threat to the former FBI director he just fired, complete with his signature random quotation marks:

Comey’s response:

Yes, the guy who made a totally spurious accusation that President Obama ordered him to be “wiretapped” is now threatening James Comey with a secretly recorded tape. Of course, he knows any recordings would probably show the exact opposite of his claim that Comey assured him he wasn’t being investigated, so they probably don’t exist.

Twitler’s threats sound so 1970s.

Everyone in DC is secretly hoping there’s recordings, except for maybe Pence. And probably Ryan and McConnell. How could they not? All because you just know that Trump would try to edit the tapes or omit key bits to further hide is wrongdoing and in the process further implicate himself in a massive coverup that makes his already criminal actions (multiple violations of the US Code) all the worse.

And then he’d claim he was the first to do that, so how could they call it illegal.

Trump is like the drunk guy in the bar who keeps egging someone on, poking and provoking, threatening and menacing, until someone finally has enough and knocks his ass out.

The only question is - who gets to do the knocking out? The FBI, or the CIA who he famously called ‘Nazis’ a few months ago?

Today’s daily briefing has special guest McMaster diverting attention and taking up time that should be spent on Trump’s morning outburst and the endless parade of lifeless packaging that Trump thinks will shield him from further scrutiny and investigations.

The CIA is cool now since he’s got his guy with this pledge of fealty to Trump installed there.

re: #17 Sir John Barron

Had Clinton gone and fired Comey this is how it would go down:

Day 1: Clinton fires Comey, giving reasons x, y, z.
Day 1.5: GOP Congress pulls overnight session and indicates intention to go ahead with impeachment of Clinton for obstructing justice and thwarting federal investigation.
Day 2: Clinton responds by indicating that she has absolute faith in the FBI and its investigators that they can remain impartial and she would be vindicated in any impeachment.
….

Clinton’s ratings soar through the roof as the GOP continues their witch hunt, trying to claim that Huma and Weiner’s crimes (or allegations of crimes) are Clinton crimes. All the while, the media and GOP obfuscate/lie about those emails, and why Comey was fired.

The more likely scenario is that Clinton would suggest that Comey resign at some point in the future, and that there’d be a smooth transition to a new FBI director, but the GOP would still go apeshit over the move, claiming that it’s to bury any criminal wrongdoing by Clinton, even though the GOP hasn’t found any criminal wrongdoing by Clinton despite all the investigations.

I have been doing a lot of lurking lately. Usually I only have a few minutes to scroll down the page on my phone as a general way of seeing what going on (as opposed to a CNN site where there is a sea of headlines and I can’t really go clicking on them. One thing I’ve noticed lately is that with all this stuff going on, it has really put a dent into the lizard community. By that I mean there are hardly any food pics, personal anecdotes, lizard to lizard interaction and so on. It’s like we can’t catch our breath or something.

I noted this to Jim Wright when he was complaining about Trump not letting him rest on his Alaska vacay, but Trump has been taking regular vacations to make up for the ones he’s denying us as we try to keep up with all the regularly scheduled bullshit his administration pushes.
