Pretty much. Even if it didn’t increase the wind speeds, it still blocks the highway - people will start parking and climbing up 5 or 10 minutes before the tornado might arrive and it creates a cascade effect, plus blocks the roads for emergency crews.
You see it a lot in some of the more modern videos of chases, and that’s before we really got into the chasing-as-reality-show phenomenon that …well, let’s just say this is not one of those “filled with glory” chapters.
Also, if the viaduct is knocked off it’s pylons by a tornado, everyone under it is crushed. Moreover, tornado-driven debris under a viaduct which acts like a wind tunnel will pummel people with two hundred mph moving debris, severely injuring them or killing them.
Not too stoked on this snow that’s falling. Up to a foot by Friday? C’mon, man!

That senate seat has such a weird history. Paul Wellstone won the seat in 1990, but then died in a plane crash 11 days before the 2002 election. The MN DFL drafted vice-prez Walter Mondale into the race and there was one pretty remarkable debate before MN chose shit weasel Coleman for the seat. In 2008 we dumped Coleman for Franken, but it was so close that the recounts went on until late June of 2009.

There is a precedent for a quack movement disintegrating with breathtaking speed just as it reached the height of its power and influence: the 1920s Ku Klux Klan. In 1925, the Klan boasted 6 million members. Then the most powerful Klan leader, DC Stephenson of Indiana, was convicted in a sensational murder and kidnapping case. Membership went into freefall. By 1930, it was down to 30,000 nationwide. The national organization was formally abolished in `1944 after it could not pay back taxes, to be replaced by a menagerie of local and regional Klans that seem to flit in and out of existence like so many biting gnats.
One reason the Stephenson case was so destructive to Klan was that Stephenson kept a “dead man file” that detailed Klan bribes to Indiana officials. He openly threatened the court with these files during his trial. The files duly fell into the hands of the press, resulting in a massive wave of corruption trials and resignations. Crooked pols all over the country duly took note and cut off all contact with the organization. The similarity to Russiagate is striking.

My understanding is there is a complaint before the Alabama Bar by a number of that state’s lawyers demanding his license to practice law be stripped because he lied under oath to Congress.

EXMNA (Ex-Muslims of North America) needs you to sign their petition urging Facebook to protect free expression on their platform. The petition contains two simple requests that will help ensure ex-Muslims, atheists, and other vulnerable voices are protected on social media. The petition asks that Facebook:
1. Create a list for Facebook Groups and Facebook Pages which are determined as vulnerable to malicious attacks. Reports and flags aimed at them should not be handled by automated mechanisms but reviewed and given due consideration by a trained Facebook employee.
2. Penalize individual accounts and Facebook Groups which are found to have been repeatedly abusing its reporting system.
