Trump is pretty much the ultimate expression of the Peter principle, and yet at the same time an awesome counter-argument to it. He rose to the presidency based in part upon this fiction that he is a “successful” businessman and thus knows what it takes to get the economy working for everyone.

re: #29 Quoth the raven, Covfefe.

“Pay-to-play is a concern now? How much was Kushner pimping Trump access for over in China, again?”

Some journalists who were in China last month reported that Jared Kushner’s sister was presenting an “investment opportunity” to wealthy Chinese investors. She told the investors that if they invested money in the family’s NJ business project, they could get an EB-5 visa, which would make them permanent residents of the U.S. The minimum amount of investment needed to get an EB-5 visa is $500,000. After a member of her staff informed her that reporters were present, she kicked them out, and according to reporting by Think Progress she told the reporters that “this isn’t the kind of news we want.” Imagine that! Kushner Family members trading EB-5 visas for business investments. The new news today is that the Kushner Family owes Chinese investors $250,000,000 and is having trouble finding U.S. banks to lend it the money. Jared Kushner is bad for Wall Street. The article I read at Bloomberg said the family will probably turn to foreign banks to get the $250,000 it needs.

Trump’s behavior is a national security issue.

If he and his handlers and family do not want to submit to him being checked out and analyzed then he can resign the office.

Some left-wing “advocates” do much more self-defeating harm than good. When you tell people they shouldn’t talk about Donald Trump being mentally ill, you’re helping the wrong side of the argument. It’s not bashing all mentally ill people to point out that some (not all, or most) mentally ill people are dangerous, and that an obviously mentally ill person should not have the ability to launch nuclear weapons. Jesus. How did we get to the point where it’s controversial to say something like this? The ratfker has bitten off more than he can chew. Before he became POTUS, he spent an enormous amount of time convincing those who voted for him that presidenting is easy. Now that he’s in the catbird seat, the ratfker doesn’t know what to do about anything, and he’s learning that he cannot run the nation the way he ran his businesses. I’m glad he’s being revealed as the loud-mouthed, lying, unethical, bull-sh*tting Know Nothing that he’s always been. Before becoming POTUS, he could use his money to shut others up, but those days have ended. I hope he’s driven out of his mind because he had soooo much fun attacking PBO for allegedly being incompetent, and his brain-dead supporters were yucking it up and believing every bit of it. They deserve to be ridiculed. I’m tired of their meme-based bull sh*t and their cult of personality where Trump is concerned. When their *sses start heading down the toilet, I’m going to be standing above it taking notes and taunting the hell out of them. The dumb*sses. I have zero sympathy for Trump or them. If Sessions is catching hell from Trump because Trump doesn’t think Sessions has kissed his *ss and licked his butt-crack thoroughly enough, that their problem. I’m not usually someone who takes a hard stance against others, but I’m making some exceptions where Trump & Co. are concerned.

trump has spent his entire adult life as Master of All Masters of his own private business/corruption ring. In terms of personal power to order others about and have them tremblingly obey, he took a huge demotion on Jan 20. As soon as the reality of this demotion sinks in, I think it inevitable that trump will do something stupid and military to show off the only kind of power he has now that he didn’t have before.

IMO there’s a 50/50 chance that this future military stupidity will involve the use of nukes.

You should go to an animal shelter and save one of the “economically anxious” on death row rather than one of the privileged elites.

Although sometimes Pet Smart does adoption events.

re: #81 Skip Intro

Last month, President Trump visited Saudi Arabia and his administration announced that he had concluded a $110 billion arms deal with the kingdom. Only problem is that there is no deal. It’s fake news.

Imagine that.

brookings.edu

About five minutes of Internet searching could have turned up the (actual) fact that the Big Fucking Arms Deal the Idiot-in-Chief announced in Riyadh with such fanfare:
1. Wasn’t as big a deal as he mis-labeled it.
2. Wasn’t his Administration’s idea (been in the works under Obama).
3. Wasn’t even much of a “deal” - not a sale, just the formal authorization of a future sale.
4. Probably won’t “create” many, if any, new jobs (basically it’s a make-work program for the MIC to keep the workers we already have busy).

IOW, typical Trump “business” crap: exaggerating the importance of someone else’s project, then loudly taking credit for it.

“He’s also having to handle Josh Barrow trying to normalize the whole concept of Russian hacking.”

I saw the segment, too, and it seemed to me that Barrow was trying to say, “Move right along, nothing to see here.” I’m glad Nance called him out on it, too. This is what needs to happen when someone who has little/no real working experience in a policy area appears on TV. There should be an on-site expert available to tell Americans the truth. As far as I’m concerned, the fact that the young lady has been arrested makes Glenn Greenwald look exactly like the partisan bullsh*tter that he is. GG swore up and down and all around that Russians made no attempts to influence our 2016 elections, and we find out that he accepted classified info from Reality Winter today confirming that that actually happened.

majii, just for your information. I mistakenly added the “w’ to the end of Barro. I edited my post. When I typed it I was wondering, so I Googled his name and sure enough…Barro.

I think we are going to check out Pea Ridge where my Confederate grandfather fought. After that loss, he went with a group of Confederates to Minn. to wait out the war before returning to MO. My Union grandfather was of a younger age and spent his service dragging bodies off of battlefields in KS and MO. He’d bury a Confederate properly even though he caught hell for it. Or so we’ve been told.

Lots of Confederate flags here in Ark. We ain’t going back, folks!

In the scheme of news cycles these days, that’s akin to Fox News talking about the failed foreign policy of Jimmy Carter.

I got my most recent cat by setting out some food when I saw him wander into the yard.

Nom!
I’m very InstaP curious now after all the comments here. I love to cook and like to have multiple versions of a recipe. I think the IP might help me develop easier weekday versions of dishes that are really good and don’t require a Sunday full of kitchen toil, which I do like for certain occasions.

So keep inspiring me with your creations!
