Trump’s Muslim Ban Shut Down Again by the 9th Circuit Court

Trump’s tweetstorms didn’t help him, oddly enough
Politics • Views: 39,775

Donald Trump’s grotesque, bigoted and un-American ban on travel from Muslim areas has been shut down again by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

The ruling from a three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals is yet another stinging loss from a court that similarly refused to reinstate Trump’s original executive order on travel in February.

“We conclude that the President, in issuing the Executive Order, exceeded the scope of the authority delegated to him by Congress,” the three judges, all appointed by President Bill Clinton, wrote. “(I)mmigration, even for the President, is not a one-person show.”The judges cited Trump’s latest tweets in the travel ban saga.Read More”That’s right, we need a TRAVEL BAN for certain DANGEROUS countries, not some politically correct term that won’t help us protect our people!” Trump tweeted on June 5.

And just as before, Trump’s idiotic, self-defeating boasts on Twitter helped the court to reach this decision.

“Indeed, the President recently confirmed his assessment that it is the ‘countries’ that are inherently dangerous, rather than the 180 million individual nationals of those countries who are barred from entry under the President’s ‘travel ban,’” the judge wrote.

They also cited White House press secretary Sean Spicer’s confirmation that the President’s tweets are “considered official statements by the President of the United States.”

At the time of Sandy Hook, I had a child that age. I had also taught children that age. It really got to me, too. The whole conspiracy theory that it didn’t happen angers me so much. makeitstop  Jun 12, 2017 • 12:01:59pm

Also, this.

Derogatory signs posted on a lawn in a St. Petersburg neighborhood have several residents upset.

Roland Price placed five signs in his yard on 27th Avenue North on Saturday. On them were the words Jews, infidels, an anti-gay slur and an offensive term referencing mentally handicap people. The last sign had the words “great again.”

Neighbors can’t believe it.

“It’s disgusting. It’s repulsive,” said one woman.

“I’m absolutely shocked,” said another neighbor, a block away.

News Channel 8 interviewed Roland Price in 2012 when he spoke out on gay marriage.

“Homosexuality is rampant, so how do you control that? If you’re not one of them, how do you set yourself apart?” Price said.

No one answered the door at his home Monday. Price did answer the phone, but would not agree to a recorded phone interview.

Price said his signs are self-explanatory.

He said the previous administrations had too many Jewish and LGBTQ people in their cabinets.

Price referred to a bible verse, using the word infidels, saying they should not be in the White House.

DeMint eyes ‘new mission’ for Tea Party: Changing the Constitution

Jim DeMint, the recently ousted head of the Heritage Foundation, has taken on a new mission for the conservative Tea Party Movement to amend the U.S. Constitution, USA Today reported Monday.

DeMint has joined The Convention of Sates Project, which reportedly aims to start a grassroots, state-led effort to amend the U.S. Constitution by scaling back its federal spending and power as well as address federal term limits.

The former South Carolina senator (R), who was ousted from the think tank last month, will serve as a senior adviser to the group.

Republicans are strong enough at the state level to make their changing the constitution a real threat.

Yes…and in response to yesterday’s question “Democrats are weak because…”, THIS is the answer:

The Democratic Party’s down-ballot collapse, explained

Over the past eight years, the Democratic Party has lost a mind-bogglingly large number of races across the country. Their share of seats in the United States Senate has fallen from 59 to 48. They’ve lost 62 House seats, 12 governorships, and 958 seats in state legislatures. Paired with Donald Trump’s Electoral College victory, that means that the party whose champion won the popular vote — and whose outgoing president delivers his farewell address Tuesday — lies right now as a smoking pile of rubble.

Would strongly recommend reading the whole thing. If there’s one thing you can solidly blame the so-called “establishment” Dems for, it’s their dreadful complacency while the above disaster unfolded over 8 years - hopefully they’ve learned from it.

Trump slams media for failing to cover nonexistent energy stock boom

President Trump unleashed tweets over the weekend slamming the “fake news” media for once again ignoring terrific economic news.

Among other good economic and markets news, Trump said the “drilling & energy sector” is “way up” since the election.

But if Trump’s Oval Office desk isn’t covered with articles detailing a boom in drilling and energy stocks, it’s because there isn’t one. These stocks have done terribly since the election.

The S&P 500’s energy sector is down more than 4%, even as the Dow has soared since November 8. Energy is actually the only sector among 11 in the S&P 500 to lose ground since Trump’s win.

ExxonMobil (XOM), one of the most popular energy stocks, is the worst-performing Dow stock after the election.

But if Trump’s Oval Office desk isn’t covered with articles detailing a boom in drilling and energy stocks, it’s because there isn’t one. These stocks have done terribly since the election.

The S&P 500 and the DOW are all fake news. The real energy stocks are flying high.

Normally, it’s by publicly saying you’re pro-choice, or that you support Obamacare… In the old days, being in favor of gay marriage, but they realize they’ve lost that one. Oh, and of course, saying that taxes should be raised. But in the case of DeMint, it turns out he was just too big of an asshole, even for Heritage:

After a comprehensive and independent review of the entire Heritage organization, the Board determined there were significant and worsening management issues that led to a breakdown of internal communications and cooperation. While the organization has seen many successes, Jim DeMint and a handful of his closest advisers failed to resolve these problems.

It’s interesting to hear alleged conservatives calling for a constitutional convention to “fix” the constitution… especially since the plan in 1789 was to “fix” the Articles of Confederation. Even slightly opening the door to the potential of a new constitution would be crazy and have a billion billion unintended consequences.

In the last 220 years, despite the repeated refrain that “there’s no such thing as federal common law”, we’ve crafted quite a bit of federal common law, particularly in the context of individual rights. How many of those get codified, how many get stricken from the list? What happens if a sufficient number of states vote to ratify the new constitution and other states vote not to (and try to choose to leave the union)? That’s just the very beginning… Then again:

I’ve been contemplating something today after seeing there was another referendum in Puerto Rico regarding statehood (apparently statehood won big, but a lot of opponents boycotted the election). What are the odds that Puerto Rico and DC (in some manner) could become States?

I mean, procedurally, for Puerto Rico it’s pretty straight forward, Congress passes a statehood law and the president signs it. DC is a bit more complicated because of the 23rd Amendment and Article I Section 8; but even still… statehood wouldn’t be that difficult - you announce that DC will become a state, you pass a constitutional amendment repealing the 23rd Amendment and pass a statehood law at the same time (or have one become effective on the passage of the other).

What I’m considering is more the political implications. Puerto Rico becomes the 29th largest state in the Union, entitling it to 5 seats in the House; DC would get one seat in the house. Do we increase House membership (at least temporarily, I’d prefer it being a permanent increase) to 441? Between 5 new Representatives, and 4 new Senators, what are the political calculations? I’d figure all three Congressional members from DC would be Democrats, figure the PR Senators get split (complete guess), you’re looking at a 53-51 split in the Senate.

Would that be tenable for the parties? Also, one more interesting question, what if Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands were made into a single state?

Good friend of mine was one of the produces of Battlestar. They didn’t really expect it to take off after the 1st season, so they pretty much wrote themselves into a corner.

The show was elevated by the amazing performances by the character actors-turned-leads, who brought more to the roles than there was on the page. By the end of Season 2, however, the show was really finding its legs. They had no idea where to take it, though, which explains the lame final episode, based upon one writer’s fondness for “Wings of Desire.”

Seems like this is common for a lot of shows, particularly in SciFi - where networks always get squeamish about greenlighting more than a season at a time. The nature of TV (at least as it used to exist, streaming may be changing it), is that it allowed shows to meander (even if they were serialized), and suddenly facing an announcement that Season 7 will be the last season, you end up writing that they all really died on the island and that its purgatory or something.*

*Why yes, I am still annoyed by the last season of Lost, why do you ask?

Having just visited Acadia (and have crossed off another 20+ from the bucket list), I can tell you Hatch is either woefully ignorant about the history of the National Park system, or worse, purposefully misinforming the public.

I’m leaning towards the latter given that he represents a state with 5 of the coolest parks I’ve visited: Arches. Canyonlands. Zion. Bryce. Capitol Reef.

Those 5 parks figure prominently in all Utah tourism promotions and advertising because they are a huge economic driver for the state.

They help much of Southeastern Utah’s local economy. Hatch knows this.

I’m guessing he simply doesn’t give a fuck.

And cilizza has like 15 articles on CNN website totally giving ivanka and the orange one a hand job in hopes of joining the family business and that maybe ivanka will give him the time of day, or a show up her skirt.

Either way. The collective iq of this country is about as uncoordinated as my right side after the stroke.

Other possibilities… when it comes to drilling/fracking, he’s a NIMBY - “I’m fine with it as long as it’s not hurting my constituents.” Or he knows that national parks are useful for Utah’s economy and doesn’t want the competition from parks in other states.

Ah, yes… the George RR Martin school of writing.

Retconning is also useful, if done right - pick an old random scene and make it way more important than you would have thought originally.

That’s the storyline to Adventure Time. They even turned an animation glitch into a plot point.

Blind Frog Belly White  Jun 12, 2017 • 1:22:15pm

Honestly, though - can you imagine the poor writer who carefully plots out his 5-year story arc, and gets cancelled at mid-first-season? Or who hears that his 5th season, tying everything into a neat package, was so well received that the network wants another season? I guess the latter is preferable.

Speaking of 5-year arcs, “Arrow” has spent its 5 seasons developing Oliver’s character while also showing how he got to where he was at the start of Season 1 via flashback. The season finale brought that up to his rescue, where the show started.

So, will they start doing flashbacks from Season 1? I guess they save money, since the film is already in the can, and they don’t have to have Stephen Amell wear the ‘longhaired Ollie’ wigs….

Except that there are people who will make it their ambition to visit all the parks (I count myself in that group), and will still make time to go back and visit their favorites, which includes Zion, Capitol Reef, Muir Woods, and several others that I’ve visited more than once already).

Also, competition hasn’t hurt turnout at the big parks even as new ones are added. It just means there’s far more stuff preserved and saved for posterity.

Not that Hatch gives a crap about any of it.

Oh, and I saw that Zinke was looking to sell off campgrounds in the parks (which is another land/concessions grab).

re: #134 KGxvi

Seems like this is common for a lot of shows, particularly in SciFi - where networks always get squeamish about greenlighting more than a season at a time. The nature of TV (at least as it used to exist, streaming may be changing it), is that it allowed shows to meander (even if they were serialized), and suddenly facing an announcement that Season 7 will be the last season, you end up writing that they all really died on the island and that its purgatory or something.*

*Why yes, I am still annoyed by the last season of Lost, why do you ask?

You’re really not going to enjoy anything that happens on Colony then. Writers are feuding, Exec Producer not really engaged, and the whole thing is just flailing.

A lot of this is due to the “Puts” - i.e. how many shows are ordered. When networks would get 22-show Puts, they’d have enough in the bank to pay for a writer to really try to plan out what would happen in a season. That went down to 16 … then 13 … now it’s down to 10 episodes, and very few production companies are willing (or able) to invest time & energy in wireframing out a season.

Exceptions: Marvel and Netflix (although Iron Fist was rushed to fit into production windows)

I’m curious to see how it plays out long term for the industry. I’ve not watched Colony, so I’ll take your word on that.

And I’ll be honest, if I were in that situation, I’m not sure how I’d write the shows. I almost feel like you have to treat TV shows like a book series - each season is a novel that can (hopefully) stand on its own, while building a complete story over the course of the entire series. But that’s hard because until you finally say “The End”, you have to leave something open for future story lines.

We also need to remember that a female in Florida was sentenced last week to spend five months in prison for harassing Noah Pozner’s dad and telling him he was “going to die soon.” It was only after she found herself in legal trouble that she brought out the “health issues” defense. She was influenced to harass and threaten Mr. Pozner’s life by believing SH conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones. Jones has never seen an incident he’s unwilling to politicize and convert into a conspiracy theory in order to make a buck.

Damn shame. Mostly the fault of pushing too hard to try to come up with a villain that fits into the larger narrative that leads up to The Defenders.

They also couldn’t seem to settle on just how powerful Iron Fist was supposed to be. Is he an amazing super-weapon who can defeat 25 other kung-fu experts at the same time? Or just a guy that you can sneak up on & clock on the back of the head with a pipe & knock out (as in Episode 4)?

They tried to have it both ways. Didn’t work.

Rosario Dawson training to learn how to fight, and cracking wise at the characters was the only thing that made the last few episodes tolerable.

Absolutely scary — remember the Constitution originally permitted slavery and prevented women from voting. There is no telling what damage they could do. After all, Nazi Germany did everything by the law.

History pedantry alert from an Actual German (tm): The Nazis had to change the constitution to turn the Weimar Republic into a dictatorship with the Enabling Act of 1933. At this point, the Communist members of the parliament had already been imprisoned. Nazi thugs patrolled the parliament during the vote to intimidate the remaining critical members. Even if you consider the radical change of the constitution legally valid, the way it happened certainly wasn’t.

well, there are loads of great sf works out there that could be done, I think most of it is still fertile ground that could be worked if it had the right backing. It’s awesome that SyFy at least picked up The Expanse and is doing it justice (from what I’ve seen). Myself, there are loads of other series and titles that could be expanded upon if someone could be bothered to get the rights and stay true to the source material… While I’ve read a lot of this stuff (and some of it is dear to me, I think on how it could translate to the screen to mention it as being good enough to capture eyeballs)

Just thinking on possibilities for some of the genre’s…

Space Opera - Weber’s Honor Harrington books would probably play fairly well…
Epic Fantasy - Glen Cook’s The Black Company comes to mind as being a cool visual drama
Hard Science - John Ringo’s Citadel books
Fantasy Noir - The Dresden books (surprisingly a lot of candidates here in this genre… Hawk and Fisher, Fafherd and Grey Mouser, Dante Valentine books, The Garrett Mysteries)
Star Trek series type - H. Beam Piper’s Paratime stories
just awesome storytelling - Bujold’s The Vor Books

Tear down everything

Pruitt’s departure on Sunday was planned, his spokesman Lincoln Ferguson said, and “senior staff” at the agency would remain part of the two-day meeting, which continued on Monday.

His absence was noticed by the other G7 members, which are Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom.

Delegates “did express their disappointment and regret” with Pruitt’s departure, Nick Robins, the co-director of the United Nations Environment Inquiry, told CNN.

“…There already are calls for Mueller and Comey to be investigated. It took them six years to get around to demanding that the same be done to Lawrence Walsh.

“This is going to be a long, bloody, and (yes) partisan political fight, and god bless it for that. There are serious constitutional and democratic principles involved here that touch upon what we think we are as a nation. A fight over those things should be long and bloody and partisan. Don’t let the voices of “moderation” and “civility” convince you otherwise. There is no gentle, easy way out of the predator-laden swamp into which we voted ourselves last November. Business is no longer usual.”

There’s been big right wing money behind this idea for decades. Now they actually have a chance to do it. By my count there are only six safe states completely controlled by the Dems that would vote against this:

Connecticut
Rhode Island
Delaware
Hawaii
Oregon
California

The GOP has

North Dakota
South Dakota
Wisconsin
Michigan
Idaho
Wyoming
Utah
Arizona
Nebraska
Kansas
Oklahoma
Texas
Iowa
Missouri
Arkansas
Indiana
Ohio
Kentucky
Tennessee
Mississippi
Alabama
South Carolina
Georgia
Florida
New Hampshire

They only need nine more for a convention, and 13 more to pass whatever nightmare scenario they come up with.

It’s a little too close for comfort for me.

Higher than you might think. Remember, most of them want the same things: No blacks, browns, yellows, Indians, women, or gays. (Or Irish.///) It’s not safe to assume anymore that they would disagree vehemently enough to prevent any progress from occurring. Remember that they shocked the world by electing Trump.

I don’t think disgruntled voters electing Trump is a good indication of willingness to overthrow the Constitution they claim to worship in its current form.

I checked the extension cord (once I got it all untangled enough from the spaghetti cable mess that makes following such things a major time-consuming headache). Tore everything apart trying to figure out the problem. No luck. I was like SHIT another system died on me! Grrrrr… snarl… stomp… hisssssss.

Then she asked “did you check the batteries in the remote?”

Everybody already got what they wanted—Megyn—lots of media coverage; Alex—something to be outraged about (he’s now calling for it to be pulled, so if NBC pulls it, he declares victory); NBC—lots of chatter about their newest “star.”

They all make me sick.

Good evening, Folks. It’s summertime(well sorta) here in Wisconsin and that means home improvement projects and whatnot. I spent the afternoon fixing an old tiller my better half borrowed from a workmate that we instantly.. well broke.

Anyhow, I know many of you also are of the fixer-upper persuasion, and being so, have most likely purchased new sockets(or other handy tools) that come in some wonderful ‘theft-proof’ packaging.

So, after struggling for an hour or so, I finally found a trick that frees your purchase from these shackles of security that bind, and I thought I’d pass it along. Enjoy!

And in case anyone was wondering if Gianforte’s “contrition” was genuine:

In his court statement on Monday, Gianforte initially declined to admit that he directly caused Jacobs injuries, saying: “In the scuffle, we fell to the floor, and I understand his elbow was injured.” When the judge asked if he caused injury, Gianforte replied: “I understand bodily injury resulted.”

Pressed on the question, Gianforte eventually admitted that he was the cause of Jacobs’ injuries.

Good lord. I made the mistake of googling men’s underwear for my husband and now every AdChoice everywhere is showing me men’s skivvies.

I had that happen with cars. I idly considered replacing the Challenger with something with 4 doors, like the Chrysler 300. Next thing I know, I’m seeing Car Gurus listings for Chryslers.

One was for a 1964 New Yorker, which looked kinda cool, so I clicked on it. Ended up looking at Chrysler New Yorkers from the mid-1970s. Ginormous things! I think they may have been the zenith of the American Land Yacht. The pictures were amazing - there was one in Burgundy, with matching vinyl top, and red velour upholstery. Looked like a goddam rolling whorehouse! Huge over-stuffed, button-tufted seats, acres of the red velour!

On a whim, I looked up the specs for a 1978 Chrysler New Yorker. Biggest engine was a 440 with a 4 bbl carb. 192 bhp. 10 mpg combined EPA gas mileage (“City” was about 6.8 mpg). Top speed - 105 mph.

5 years into the Oil Shortage Era, and Chrysler was still making them big, slow, and thirsty. At least in 1970 when you got 10 mpg, you had nearly 400 hp!

Anyway, it was a reminder of just how terrible cars used to be, though if I have a lot of money to spare and enough space for a garage, such a car in good condition might be fun to own and drive occasionally…. But I think I’ll stick with watches.

Even if it didn’t, I would’ve asked for the stash. Un-reproducible bugs are the bane of my existence right now, and we’re working on a process for nailing down exactly what information we have to have in order to even consider trying to reproduce a bug. A case where we see if Trump’s arrogance and self-centered thinking can get his ass in the very same downfall as Nixon.

He is going to ignore history because he thinks he can and he can probably tell you why Nixon didn’t do the right things to avoid having to resign or face impeachment.

Damn, reading these threads trying to catch up sometimes just gets hard to do. So much insanity anymore all over and it just weighs you down. There is almost too much to wrap your head around today.

It’s kind of funny when people who live in Tornado Alley tell Californians they’d be afraid of earthquakes.

Once a big earthquake hits, and the aftershocks die down, your likelihood of getting another drops a whole lot. A tornado can hit you today, and then another can come by tomorrow and hit you again. Next week. Next month. Next year. Unlike an earthquake, being struck with one doesn’t in any way diminish your chances of being hit again repeatedly.

Per Neal Katyal, who wrote the regulations, Trump can direct Deputy AG Rosenstein to fire Mueller, or he can order the regulations abolished and do it himself.

In either case, the constitutional crisis jumps to full rolling boil.

The ‘Not A Dick’ response is:

1. Yes, Voter ID is unnecessary, and is intended to suppress voting by traditionally Democratic voters.

2. Yes, you should fight it in the legislatures and in the courts. But…

3. you should also accept that you might not be able to change it by 2018, and so the Democrats need to invest money, time, and effort in proactively seeking out voters to help them obtain IDs.

Oh, and he’s one of these guys who believes there’s One True Answer. E.g., when HRC correctly pointed out that the Comey letter dropped her 3% in the polls, from 6% lead to the 3% lead she eventually finished with, he said the letter didn’t stop her going to Wisconsin. And the Podesta email leaks didn’t stop her going to Wisconsin. And Voter ID didn’t stop her going to Wisconsin.

For a guy who claims to be an expert, he sure does like to ignore data. Indeed, he LOVES to pontificate in areas where he’s NOT an expert, ignoring the expert opinion when it differs from his own, exactly like he correctly points out too many Americans do.

The Indulgence Series of HDMI Cables

Meanwhile…

Why all HDMI cables are the same

More important to our discussion, it means that when something goes wrong, it goes really wrong. It’s often said that with an HDMI signal, you either get everything and it’s perfect, or it isn’t perfect and you get nothing. In fact, I’ve said this. If you’re getting an image that looks correct, and there are no dropouts in the audio or video, then you’re getting everything that’s being sent. If the cable is faulty, or it’s a really long run with an under-built cable, most of the time you’ll just get nothing. No picture at all.

In order for one HDMI cable to have “better picture quality” than another, it would imply that the final result between the source and display could somehow be different. It’s not possible. It’s either everything that was sent, or full of very visible errors (sparkles). The image cannot have more noise, or less resolution, worse color, or any other picture-quality difference. The pixels can’t change. They can either be there (perfect, yay!) or not (nothing, errors, boo!).

No matter what, though, there is absolutely no picture or sound quality difference between a $3.50 cable and a $1,000 cable.

re: #316 Blind Frog Belly White

This was my Olds 98, 455, hi-compression, 4bbl, 365 hp, 525 ft.lbs., turnpike cruiser rear ratio. On a 200 mile trip through PA, she used 8 gallons @ 55mph. that’s 24MPG

OK, here’s a question I’ve always had.

Why on these old cars does the tail light section split & separate from the tail end.

You know what I mean? I can’t find a pix.

There originally were painted rubber gap-fillers between the sheet metal and the bumpers; this as a result of the energy-absorbing bumper requirements from 75 onward. They dry out and crumble, and are basically unavailable parts.

I’ve heard stories from people here who don’t HAVE a birth certificate. Home births back in the days. And they’ve been denied ID before. And there’s the closing of many DMV offices.

Also, there’s the suppression issues of them changing/closing polling places; getting rid of/curtailing early voting; keeping college kids from voting where they go to school.

The voter suppression is more than just voter ID—although that in itself can present real problems for many people.

The “you need an ID to buy beer” (or rent a kayak—that’s a new one) doesn’t even begin to address the issues.

‘68, right?

Dad bought one of those (sedan, though) in 1969, when he decided to upgrade from Ford station wagons. It had a black vinyl roof and black vinyl interior that would vulcanize to our naked leg skin when we got in it on hot, sunny summer days. Not really built for the narrow, bumpy roads of Adams County, though - you went over every bump twice!

He kept it for 2 years, and then went in a COMPLETELY different direction, and bought himself a Citroen DS21 Pallas. Talks about ‘different as chalk and cheese!’

The other possibility when he bought the Olds was a 1966 Lincoln Continental, in light blue, with light blue leather interior. It was the most beautiful car I’d ever seen in person. I WANTED that Lincoln. I still do….

It looks like that. And HDMI cable I will go with amazon basics.
amazon.com

Monoprice has a 100 foot HDMI cable for $80. Get that one. Could double as Wonder Woman’s Lariat of Truth.

Also, kids in families that moved a lot-they may not be sure where they were born-and they sure don’t live anywhere near that county now to go and check. They may have been raised by relatives because of parental death or dysfunction. Naturally this is less likely to happen to the “right” voters.

I’m legit confused. Are they actually trying to sell that item?

I wonder if that is actually the item they’re selling. For those in the know it might be “buy cool HDMI cable and get some some drugs, illegal guns, smuggled ivory carving, or whatever thrown in at no additional cost.”

re: #316 Blind Frog Belly White

My mom had one of those Chrysler New Yorker land yachts. It was white with a blue (trending to the gray side) top. We called it “the Boat.” The car (along with its seat belts) actually saved my sister’s life when she went around a blind curve and smashed into a disabled vehicle in the middle of an intersection. Would you believe the thing was fixable and my mother drove it a few more years before she got something smaller and more economical?

Yes, 1968, and in case you couldn’t tell, a convertible. It was a good reliable car until it started leaking.
A 2 1/2 ton car that goes well over 100 MPH needs something better than 14” tires and drum brakes.

Oh, that baby looks familiar! I learned to drive with one, just a pale sage green-grey. I got stopped going nearly 90 when I was 16. The policeman was merciful, because I was obviously horrified that it had gotten up to that speed without me noticing. What a wonderful car!
