Trump Rages on Twitter About Being Investigated for Obstruction of Justice, Thus Confirming WaPo Report

Malevolent clown makes himself look guilty again
Politics • Views: 32,677

As usual, our so-called president got on Twitter early this morning and rage-tweeted up a storm about being investigated for obstruction of justice.

Thereby confirming the Washington Post’s report that he’s being investigated for obstruction of justice.

If there’s one thing this guy has been terrific at since invading the White House, it’s shooting himself in the foot.

Given that Trump is an idiot who, despite the resources available, tends to get his information from watching the news, I think it may be more likely that he’s just parroting what he saw/read.

Not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, that President of ours.

Some years ago, my parents got a new chandelier and invited me over to dinner to see it. They were so proud of it, or at least that’s what I thought. We went into the dining room and they turned it on. I said, “Isn’t it a little dim in here?” Then they started cracking up. They didn’t have chandelier light bulbs, but had a ton of nightlight bulbs. So they put those in and decided to see if I’d notice. Well, I did, but not in the way they expected. Hey, maybe they were trying to simulate eating by candlelight!

These calls to “moderate the rhetoric” about Trump are bullshit, unless you’re calling for violence in which you case you suck.

But this horrible human being/toad hybrid IS the worst abomination ever to occupy the White House and I’m not going to “moderate” that opinion one fucking bit.

I honestly don’t see calls for violence against Trump or the GOP, nor do I see people on the Left calling for civil war, nor do I see people on the left bragging about having all the guns, nor do I see us talking ‘Second Amendment solutions’, nor do I see us talking about needing guns to fight off a repressive government.

Asymmetrical polarization.

And WRT moderating rhetoric about Trump? Well, okay - I promise not to use any of the violent rhetoric I never use anyway.

CEOs to Trump: You’re failing

A stunning 50% of the CEOs, business execs, government officials and academics surveyed at the annual Yale CEO Summit give Trump an “F” for his first 130 days in office.

The survey, released earlier this week, found that another 21% give Trump’s performance a “D” so far. Just 1% of the 125 leaders polled awarded the billionaire an “A.”

The overarching message from CEOs is: “Stop the random 3 a.m. tweets and stop the needless brushfires diverting from the agenda,” said Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, the Yale School of Management professor who led the summit.

Sonnenfeld noted that 80% of those surveyed are CEOs, including Blackstone (BX) CEO Steve Schwarzman and IBM (IBM, Tech30) boss Ginni Rometty, who sit on Trump’s advisory council and Merck (MRK) CEO Ken Frazier, a member of the president’s manufacturing initiative. (Individual responses by each CEO were not released.)

“This was not a granola-eating crowd of Democrat entrepreneurs. It’s a cross-section of the business community, including some who are quite pro-Trump,” he said.

My wife was one of the Speech Language Pathologists that treated Schaivo at one point and determined that she was not able to swallow her food. They can determine that through a swallow study and it is pretty black and white but she still hears from upset family members when she tells them (tactfully and professionally) that everything their loved one eats is winding up in their lungs instead of their stomach.

Anyway, she was concerned that she might be pulled into that controversy.

In case it wasn’t mentioned, fugitive from justice Lyle Jeffs (brother of polygamist leader Warren Jeffs) was arrested yesterday in Yankton, SD aka “practically in Iowa” and a long way from the FLDS compound in Pringle, SD. He had slipped out of his monitoring bracelet on June 18, 2016, via a liberal application of olive oil (which has religious significance, as it’s used to anoint people prior to prayer, but not in the amounts allegedly used here).

Two of Virginia’s biggest and most public agencies are facing financial crunches.

Virginia State Police, still struggling with a two-month-old cyber infection of its email system, already has piled up $1.9 million in bills to clean malware from its computers and will have to rebuild the network.

The Department of Motor Vehicles, faced with mounting expenses and no state appropriation to pay for them, expects a $13.4 million budget shortfall in the fiscal year that begins July 1 and projects the hole to grow to $94.3 million over six years.

For DMV, the solution could require increases in fees for vehicle registration and titling, and driver’s licensing, or diverting a greater share of the fees the agency collects for other parts of state government, including the Department of Transportation project funding stream that the state boosted by billions of dollars four years ago.

Secretary of Public Safety Brian J. Moran said the state is hiring an independent information technology security firm to assess the extent of a malware infection that forced state police to shut down its email system 57 days ago after an employee mistakenly clicked on an email attachment to what looked like a routine invoice.

“The core mission of the State Police has not been adversely impacted,” Moran told the Senate Finance Committee today at the Capitol.

However, state police, the state IT agency and its independent contractor worked 7,000 hours in the first three weeks of the crisis to inspect and cleanse computers in the 20 percent of the agency’s network that is under the Virginia Information Technologies Agency. State police said the malware did not infect the other 80 percent of the network that it controls, but Moran acknowledged that has not been verified by outside security experts.

One of my favorites. Creamy soft flesh with large black seeds, does taste like slightly tart custard. Apparently good for diabetics.

re: #38 Blind Frog Belly White

Newt knows better than most about the politics of personal destruction, since he was one who led the charge to destroy Clinton over an extramarital relationship that had nothing to do with the scope of the original investigation (whitewater financial shenanigans). Clinton lied over his relationship with Lewinsky, and Newt and the other House Managers treated that as a high crime/misdemeanor towards obstruction of justice.

Here? Trump fired Comey over refusing to stop investigating Russia-Trump connections. That’s actual obstruction of justice, not some lie about a blowjob. Trump continues with witness intimidation and various statements that could be construed as threats. That too goes to obstruction of justice.

So, Newt decides that this is where what little remains of his credibility will get destroyed? How much is Newt getting paid by Trump for this? Enough to cover the remainder of Newt’s debts from his failed 2012 campaign where he’s stiffed his vendors to the tune of more than $4 million?

Newt is as he has always been - a pompous blowhard whose moral and ethical outrage conveniently ignores his own moral and ethical failings, let alone those of the rest of the GOP, including Trump. It’s that latter bit that is especially useful to Trump, since Trump values loyalty over all else, including competence.

I’m sure Republicans/Conservatives/Rightwingers know the difference between opposing a president and encouraging violence against a president given the way they were so openly hostile towards President Obama (and President Clinton, for that matter).

Trump deserves every bit of opposition, criticism and mocking he has gotten and will get in the future. His behavior has been atrocious and his policies will harm millions of Americans (and folks in other countries). Yesterday’s shooting should be a rallying point for gun control and not a call for us to moderate our opposition to a horrible man who should not be anywhere close to the White House.

Trump really fucked up throwing the FBI and greater IC under the bus early. Any partisan hangouts in those departments must have gotten a serious incentive to choose country over party when he showboated in front of The Wall at CIA Headquarters, among other fuckwittery.

Mueller is the anti-Trump. He’s the Kryptonite.

But if he can concealed-carry in DC, he can maybe start shooting some of his constituents.

How do we know about Clinton contacts and financial dealings? Because she made decades of tax returns public. Clinton foundation docs are transparent.

Trump’s shielded all his business dealings from public scrutiny.

Clintons didn’t meet with Russian ambassador during election season. Trump’s people did. Clinton didn’t lie about meeting with Russians. Trump’s people repeatedly did.

That’s the difference.

Once again, Trump’s trying to deflect attention away from his criminality by claiming that we really need to investigate Clinton some more. I’ll hand it to him, it’s worked for him so far (and helped him win in November courtesy of a pliant media).

Regardless of the merits of any particular kind of chip, I had bariatric surgery last November, lost 116 lbs, and will never eat a potato chip again, except maybe on my deathbed when it won’t matter anymore. I’m 54, so I’ve eaten more than enough potato chips for one human lifetime.

Good job. Keep it up. Keep it down. Keep doing what you’re doing.

I think there were two different votes.

There were two votes. The first was an amendment to add the Russian sanctions to the Iranian sanctions bill, which went 97-2 (Lee and Paul were the nays and Van Hollen didn’t vote). Then there was the final passage of the bill, that went 98-2 with Paul and Sanders as the nays.

Now it goes to the House, and that should be interesting… 292 is the magic number for a veto proof majority.

Wiles has appeared many times at LGF. He is one of the most slavishly pro-Russian and antisemitic of the GOPs bat guano evangelists.
The Craziest Scalia Conspiracy Theory Yet: Obama Killed Scalia as a Pagan Human Sacrifice

Wiles: ‘Raw Satanic Sewage Out of Hell’ Ran Through Streets of Austin During Abortion Protests

Rick Wiles says Ivanka Trump is “a Kabbala practicing, evil woman whispering evil things in the ear of her father.”

As lizardoid Nyet pointed out, Wiles only turned against the Kushners after the Trump-ordered Syrian bombing and did so in terms worthy of Joseph Goebbels.

Wiles, who was an ardent Trump supporter until the president directed strikes against a Syrian airbase, played a portion of a sermon he delivered to his congregation last Sunday in which he attacked Ivanka and Kushner for being Orthodox Jews and tools of “the deep state cabal in the White House.” Wiles claimed that the couple are devout followers of the late Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson and sought “the dead rabbi’s messianic blessings on Donald Trump’s election victory,” asserting that Ivanka even credited Schneerson for protecting her father for an assassination attempt.

After blasting Schneerson for “being a scholar of the blasphemous Talmud” and “an esteemed teacher and practitioner for Kabbala, Jewish mysticism, witchcraft,” Wiles warned that “this is the rabbi that Jared and Ivanka revere” and “this is who is whispering in Donald Trump’s ear, ‘Bomb Syria.’

We used to have a Charles Chips (we called them ‘Charlie Chips’ because we were familiar) truck come round the neighborhood and deliver them in those big cans.

re: #179 Sir John Barron

Does this bill actually do much of anything?

This is from the summary of the bill:

The President shall impose asset blocking and U.S. exclusion sanctions against any person that materially contributes to: (1) Iran’s ballistic missile or weapons of mass destruction programs, or (2) the sale or transfer to Iran of specified military equipment or the provision of related technical or financial assistance.

The President shall impose against Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and affiliated foreign persons sanctions with respect to blocking property of, and prohibiting transactions with, foreign persons who commit or support terrorism.

The President may impose asset blocking sanctions against any person identified by the State Department as responsible for extrajudicial killings, torture, or other gross violations of internationally recognized human rights committed against certain individuals in Iran.

The bill requires specified existing sanctions against persons for materially contributing to Iran’s ballistic missile program or for supporting Iran’s acts of international terrorism to continue until 90 days after the President certifies that such activities ceased during the immediately preceding three-month period.

The bill exempts certain humanitarian and national security activities from sanctions.

The Russian amendment basically requires similar sanctions for interference in the election. The problem is Trump could just shrug his shoulders and say he doesn’t believe the reports, or order reports buried. Of course, that might actually convince Republicans that he should be impeached.

Not sure Lee’s reasoning. Maybe he thought it should have been a separate bill? That’d be the most generous. Or maybe he didn’t think the sanctions were harsh enough? Also generous. But that happens a lot where someone votes no on an amendment that passes and then votes for the final bill because the totality of the benefits in the bill outweigh the bill’s liabilities.
