Trump Tweets Again: CNN’s One Retracted Article Means All Articles About Him Are “FAKE NEWS”

Media • Views: 45,228

One retracted story from CNN, and suddenly Donald Trump and the entire right wing universe are all screaming in unison that this proves every story from every source about Russia and Trump is nothing but evil FAKE NEWS!

Here are the details:

Thomas Frank, who wrote the story in question; Eric Lichtblau, an editor in the unit; and Lex Haris, who oversaw the unit, have all left CNN.

“In the aftermath of the retraction of a story published on cnn.com, CNN has accepted the resignations of the employees involved in the story’s publication,” a spokesman said Monday evening.

An internal investigation by CNN management found that some standard editorial processes were not followed when the article was published, people briefed on the results of the investigation said.

The story, which reported that Congress was investigating a “Russian investment fund with ties to Trump officials,” cited a single anonymous source.

These types of stories are typically reviewed by several departments within CNN — including fact-checkers, journalism standards experts and lawyers — before publication.

An interesting note, however:

In a staff meeting Monday afternoon, investigative unit members were told that the retraction did not mean the facts of the story were necessarily wrong. Rather, it meant that “the story wasn’t solid enough to publish as-is,” one of the people briefed on the investigation said.

They should’ve followed the proper procedures, but the story is not dead. It’s probably been passed onto other reporters to get the necessary clarifications. Fifty bucks says they run the story in a week. Oh, and shut the fuck up Orange Anus.

And about the latest Project No Veritas “sting.” The CNN guy never says the Russia story is bullshit. He said that the editorial decision to move off the Paris Accord story and go back to the Russia story is bullshit.

I haven’t had time to watch any tv today, but I’d bet next week’s paycheck this will drive a significant part of Fox’s agenda today.

The biggest scandal in CNN history!!!

President Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump, Jr., is calling on CNN president Jeff Zucker to appear before the American public and the media to personally account for and explain exactly what happened in what is now the network’s biggest scandal in its history.

“The hypocrisy at CNN is astounding,” Trump, Jr., told Breitbart News in an exclusive statement on Monday. “Facing the biggest fake news scandal in the network’s history after an embarrassing retraction, nobody from the network is answering questions-even to their own reporters-and they have the audacity to demand on-camera press briefings from the White House to boost their ratings and make their personalities famous? Maybe Jeff Zucker should do an on-camera press briefing about CNN’s fake news scandal before the White House does any more of them.”

Heh, heh…Now Spicer will have to answer questions on camera about Senates failed plan to pass BCRA before the July 4th recess

With Mitch McConnell apparently pulling the Don’tCare bill, will he try re-submitting it after the recess, or are GOP Senators going to go to their town halls saying “well we tried to repeal Obamacare, but you know those Democrats… .” and let this die a quiet unremarked death.

WASHINGTON — Facing intransigent Republican opposition, Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Republican leader, has told senators he will delay a vote on his legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act, dealing President Trump an embarrassing setback on a key part of his agenda.

We can win this thing.

RedState dragging conservatives over this supposed “victory” over CNN pulling a story and accepting resignations:

One retracted story from one network does not make all of media “fake news.” This is Trump overreaching, and there may come a time when he lives to regret it. His efforts to undermine any who are less than duteous to him, whether it’s media, or lawmakers who won’t fall in behind the Obamacare replacement fiasco is, and will always be troubling.

There was talk of having his tweets screened through lawyers, several weeks ago.

I’m supposing that fell through.

So Mitch pulled it. Good.

I think there is a lot of pressure on the GOP and they are hearing it from all over.

We need to keep the pressure up. everyone has to write their Senators and Congresspersons. No time to stop. We can kill this and make Mitch have to work with Schumer.

I hope those people that thought this was all a done deal this week and there was no hope the GOP had the votes or would get them through deals and they would cover for the two no votes and all the other excuses reconsider and jump in and fight.

It is obvious by their pulling it when they wanted so much to vote on it so they could be done with it by the 4th they did not have the votes. No amount of Mitch ‘magic’ was working this time.

The people that wrote emails and contacted their reps in any manner they could did this. Those tossing their hands up didn’t do shit. Change that.

You are not helping.

Come on, for once try to kick ‘em where it counts instead of constantly figuring out why it can’t be stopped.

Maybe some of those big GOP donors are in the insurance and medical fields, have big corporations with good employees they want only the best for and know this is not a good thing and they too are putting pressure on them.

You know, it is just too damn easy to be so negative. Positive takes work.

Remember, this is what happened in the House. On the other hand, the Senate has less of a margin for error. Also Ryan could tell his members to vote for it to keep the process moving forward and problems would be fixed in the Senate; Mitch can’t.

I am just pointing out Mitch’s strategy during the break. But if enough major donors turn on him, he might have to change his tack.
