Trump’s Crazy Twitter Ranting Shows No Sign of Stopping

Our so-called president is not well
Politics • Views: 36,967

Here are some of the tweets posted so far this week alone by Donald Trump, who is the 45th president of the United States although it’s difficult to believe someone this unhinged is actually in that formerly respected office.

This raging paranoid narcissist with access to the nuclear launch codes really seems to be cracking up, and that, dear friends, is incredibly dangerous.

It gets me thinking about my wingnut pal who is a big guy shaming women for their appearance and weight when he’s the last person who should be doing it anyone. I mean it’s not right period obviously but it reeks of Limbaugh calling Chelsea Clinton a dog while being over 300 pounds himself. He also mocks vegans too. It’s funny, everyone I have known who claims to hate vegans does so because they claim they’re judgmental but I have met far more judgmental fellow omnivores.

When people tell me it’s okay to do bad things because it doesn’t matter in the end I always think, “You first.” Then I imagine sending them to their eternal reward.

It’s one of the reasons I live such an isolated life. I’m always afraid I might act on those impulses before my rational mind can stop me.

An online frenzy ensued after reports of a shark being caught in a Kentucky lake surfaced on Tuesday, prompting the state to issue a statement reassuring the public that swimming in Kentucky is not going to produce a Jaws-like encounter.

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources issued a statement on Facebook Tuesday saying that online reports of a bull shark being found in Kentucky are “fake ‘news.’”

“Unfortunately, on social media sites people are posting false info such as ‘Kentucky Lake Bull Shark Caught,’” the department said in the Facebook post. “Many of these sites are entertainment with user-generated content.”

LeBron didn’t come back to Cleveland because of Dan Gilbert. And if Gilbert doesn’t do something to keep LeBron interested in staying such as a GM he likes and maybe some decent player moves to get them more competitive he will probably take off after next year.

Owners writing letters in Comic Sans telling fans to burn LeBron jerseys don’t go over too well with star players that didn’t do anything but make a free agent move most likely due to that owner in the first place.

I’m of the mind that Bron’s out the door after this season, again.

You gotta wonder why Jimmy Butler refused to go to Cleveland. I heard he was told (reportedly by people in the Cavs organization) not to commit to Cleveland and he subsequently turned down the chance to play there.

It looks like Gilbert doesn’t want to spend the money to get Bron any help.Minus that all they can do is tinker around the edges (Shumpert’s not bringing back any kind of a difference-maker), and the end result will be James headed to greener pastures.

Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross was supposed to attend this week’s Economic Council of the Christian Democratic Union meeting in Berlin, but suddenly canceled his travel plans on Tuesday. Ross was scheduled to give an address at the conference immediately before German chancellor Angela Merkel, so he instead gave his remarks by teleconference from Washington.

Ross was allotted 10 minutes to speak. After he spoke for more than 20, the conference organizers cut his feed mid-sentence. The audience “laughed and clapped” in response, according to Bloomberg. Merkel then rose and, during her remarks, disagreed with one of Ross’s points.

Michelle Obama thinks drinking water is great for you too wingnuts.

Reality has preempted your sarcasm.
mediaite.com

The first lady promoted her new “Drink Up” campaign earlier this week at the aptly-named Watertown High School in Wisconsin, and ever since it has been drawing far more criticism than she or anyone else in the Obama Administration could have predicted. She told students, “Drink just one more glass of water a day, and you can make a real difference in your health, for your energy and the way that you feel.” She cited “scientific evidence” that says our bodies perform better when they are “hydrated” than when they are even “just a little bit dehydrated.” And perhaps most importantly, Obama said, “The truth is, we all have a choice about what we drink and when we choose water, we’re choosing to be at our very best.”

Watch Michelle Obama pitch her program to students in Watertown, Wisconsin:

Some conservatives have been quick to jump on Michelle Obama for her “scientific” claims, pointing to a POLITICO story that quotes experts who claim there are discernible benefits from drinking one extra glass of water a day. Rush Limbaugh called it “just more command-and-control” from the Obama White House. The Washington Times went after the “the nation’s most prominent anti-obesity crusader” for misleading the public. And the Washington Free Beacon blasted the headline, “Michelle Obama’s Drink More Water Campaign Based on Faulty Science.”

Jeez: what a pathetic collection of BS: what did this clown do: Google-search rightwing blogs for “Obama [fecal matter] scandal”?

It’s an interesting list, all right: as a catalogue of wingnut pathology: two or three arguable missteps/mistakes: the rest either outright lies, matters of biased opinion, or developments over which Obama (and likely, no one) had control.
“Churchill bust”? “Bomb boy Ahmed”?? SRSLY?

That’s it precisely. It’s stunning to me. I don’t know if he googled that or is keeping track from Fox, Breitbart, et al as eight years of the outrage du jour. I was surprised to not see pizzagate on there, but I guess Obama wasn’t part of that, only Clinton (mua ha ha ha).

Anyway, passage of Trumpcare will work like this: First they will allow states to waive community rating so people with pre-existing conditions can be screwed, and that will get the vote of most of the rightwingers. The CBO scored the bill as providing $188 bn more in deficit reduction than the House bill, so McConnell will throw some of that into high risk pools. Then he will buy the votes of moderates with the rest so they can go home and say “look, I got all this money to address the opioid crisis!” That is how they will get to 50 votes. Then when people see the crap insurance policies they can buy, or can’t afford to buy, with Trumpcare, we vote the bastards out of office and institute Medicare for all in 2021.

Actually Bevin is taking about trying to increase revenue to shore up the pension system for state employees, one of the worst funded in the nation. As you might expect, GOP legislators aren’t real excited about the thought of raising taxes.

Editorial: If Bevin’s tax reform follows Kansas, we’re sunk:

The governor has asked law firms to submit bids on writing a new tax code for Kentucky with a delivery deadline of late September.

There is no way that reforming the state tax code can be accomplished in a short special session. It is a complex, controversial task with intense political volatility.

Bevin and other Republican leaders have embraced the GOP’s national playbook which promotes lower income taxes and higher sales taxes, also known as consumption taxes.

That was the approach used in Kansas a few years ago. Today that Republican state is facing a $1 billion revenue shortfall.

That’s $1 billion with a “b”.

True. I went back and counted the 62 “scandals ” (actually 61: he bitched about Bowe Bergdahl twice), and just four, IMO, (“F&F”, Solyndra, Syria and Libya)*, were any sort of significant black mark against the Administration’s competence, on some subjective grounds. Virtually all the rest were, as I noted, near-pathological regurgitation of RW garbage. ODS in a nutshell.

Solyndra wasn’t a black mark if you knew anything about the issue. The administration put the money into a basket of firms. It was inevitable that some of these firms would fail and their projects would be dead ends. Ultimately, the whole portfolio had a fairly decent success rate.

Obviously Trump is not explaining one important element to the advisers. He is in deep with the Russians. He is over protective to the point of ignoring it all and doing the cover up.

Wake the fuck up advisers. You are being really dense not to see it.

And it really does make me think that Trump and family may be the only ones that really know how deep and how it all works. Flynn and Manafort were just go-betweens and they may not even know why.

This all may go back a long way too. That may be a good reason why it is tough to find as a lot of the “evidence” may already be gone.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio lawmakers in the state Senate have approved a new two-year state budget that includes limits on Medicaid enrollment.

The vote on Wednesday comes as legislators in the Ohio House also are preparing to vote on $65 billion spending plan.

The plan coming out of the Republican-controlled House and Senate is likely to set up a showdown with GOP Gov. John Kasich over Medicaid expansion.

Lawmakers will be waiting to see if Kasich vetoes the freeze on Medicaid expansion enrollment next year.

The governor’s office says freezing Medicaid enrollment could mean that as many as 500,000 low-income adults will lose health insurance coverage.

Lawmakers are cutting it close with the budget this year. The governor must sign the budget by midnight Friday.

WTF?

Helicopter attack targets Venezuela’s Supreme Court

A police helicopter launched a daring attack on the Venezuelan Supreme Court on Tuesday, in a dramatic escalation of the months-long crisis engulfing the regime of President Nicolas Maduro.

The helicopter was apparently stolen and piloted by an officer in the country’s investigative police force, Oscar Perez. As it strafed the court building and the Interior Ministry in Caracas, the attackers fired gunshots and lobbed grenades, officials said.

Looks like this loon Perez and some henchmen fired small arms and tossed grenades around the SC building for a couple of hours. Nobody was injured. The stolen chopper has been recovered but Perez is still on the lam. His accomplices have not been identified.

Roughly as many people are killed by guns nationally as are killed in car accidents. The thing is, pretty much all vehicular deaths are unintentional, whereas the majority of gun deaths are intentional.

There used to be a lot more vehicular deaths/100k than gun deaths /100k. But as I say, we regulated the hell out of cars, and have in some ways actually DEregulated guns.

I know that. I’m not talking about all car accidents. Just ones where someone really does accidentally kill a family member, friend or relative. Like backing out of a driveway, driving forward by mistake and pinning someone into the wall.

In the 1950’s and 1960’s, there were approximately 50,000 vehicular deaths every year. (also note, from #291, what the population was in those years). So research was done — some government-funded (NIH, CDC, etc) and some by private sector groups (especially insurance companies).

The results of that research is why we now have seatbelt laws, and airbags, better shielding around gas tanks, different materials to make windshields, stricter drunk-driving standards, guardrails and speed bumps and red lights in more places, etc.

These days, there’s approximately 30,000 vehicular deaths per year.

Whether its leaders and members realize it, the Republican Party is at risk of becoming the Vladimir Putin-aligned party in the United States. It can be convincingly argued that it’s already similar to Putin-supported parties in Europe, given Donald Trump’s presidency, the Republican base’s increasingly favorable views of Moscow and the House GOP leadership’s disinterest in investigating and preventing Russian interference.

Obstruction is simple. Governing is complex. This is why it took the Dems a year to pass the thing in the first place.

My theory as to why it’s so hard for the Republicans to pass a healthcare bill is that they actually simply want to repeal the ACA and not replace it at all. If they could get away with doing that they would.

So Republicans are even more against being healthy now? Is that it?

Well, basically, yes. For whatever reason(s), “healthy eating” initiatives - like the ones Michelle Obama was fond of promoting - tend to send wingnuts spiralling right off the coil. Partly, it’s a reaction to the “elitist librul snobs telling us reglur folks what to eat” resentments the RW media are only too happy to stoke; which usually translates to:” REAL AMURRKAN FOOD IS CHEAP GREASY AND SWEET!!!!” - and that any attempt to convince the citizenry that “Heart Attack Burger” isn’t the pinnacle of “genuine” American cuisine is some sort of Evil Commie Librul Nanny-State Plot to make people’s live socialistically dull and miserable.
I mean, remember the wingnut freakout at the revelation that President Obama preferred - gasp in horror! - Dijon mustard??

My theory as to why it’s so hard for the Republicans to pass a healthcare bill is that they actually simply want to repeal the ACA and not replace it at all. If they could get away with doing that they would.

What they really want to do is return the world to what it was before the ACA, so that nobody will have lost insurance - they just never would have had it. This is why it was so important that Obama won in 2012. Without those extra 4 years for it to go into effect, the ACA would just have been vaporware. Now? They can’t get rid of it without tens of millions losing coverage, and everyone else seeing either rising premiums or falling coverage, or both.

The nickname ‘Crooked Hillary’ is not going to age well. Won’t taste good when Trump has to eat those words. And the texture! Deplorable!

That ANY politician would speak of their opponent in such a fashion is appalling - when it is the President of the US I find it truly mind boggling. He should be sued for millions for this continued insult - but it seems he has done exactly as he said, changed the US into one large sales deal, to be played any way he wants.

Truth is stranger than fiction is exemplified in this President and his administration.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKRC) - Bible courses will be taught in Kentucky public schools.

Gov. Matt Bevin signed a bill allowing school boards the option of developing a Bible literacy class as part of their social studies curriculum. The course would not be required.

The ACLU will be watching how the law will be implemented.

“We want to make sure that teachers can teach and make sure that they don’t go in to preach,” said ACLU advocacy director Kate Miller.

Governor Bevin says the law should not even be controversial because there is a lot of wisdom in the Bible.

“As long as we’re careful with the curriculum itself, there won’t be any constitutional issues, and we’ll do that,” said Republican State Rep. D.J. Johnson of Owensboro.

The law goes into effect Friday.

You know what? I think it’s worse, because I think Trump is unwilling, maybe even unable to admit to himself that Putin put his thumb on the scale for him, because that would mean his victory is less legitimate, possibly illegitimate. It’s like the 3 million imaginary fraudulent votes that Democrats got, in states we were going to win anyway - I think he may actually believe it.

At the same time, he doesn’t want to do anything to prevent future interference because he suspects he may need the help.

It’s really hard to know just how deep the narcissism runs, whether it just makes him SAY shit like that, or actually BELIEVE it. But personally, I think he DOES believe it.

Meanwhile, of course, there’s a small part of him that knows or at least suspects it’s not true, which is why he’s so needy about it.

re: #300 Blind Frog Belly White

Roughly as many people are killed by guns nationally as are killed in car accidents. The thing is, pretty much all vehicular deaths are unintentional, whereas the majority of gun deaths are intentional.

There used to be a lot more vehicular deaths/100k than gun deaths /100k. But as I say, we regulated the hell out of cars, and have in some ways actually DEregulated guns.

And automobiles used to be an absolute unregulated right to drive, as found by the courts.

It started with velocipedes and bicycles, when cities and states attempted to regulate them. Their clubs fought tooth and nail every regulation. With the rise of the automobile, the AAA and American Wheelmen’s Association fought as hard as the NRA to strike down any law (a speed limit, a driving test, even prohibitions against driving cars on the paths in Central Park).

They were successful for a time. The Supreme Court continually weighed in on the Right to Travel being absolute by any means technology allowed.

As the death toll from automobiles mounted, courts started weighing in what had been “settled law” (the right to drive was absolute and the state or city could not regulate it in any way). By the Fifties, driving had become a privilege.

There is a twelve thousand word essay written by a law professor on the history of the Orphaned Right (the right to drive a vehicle) detailing how the right was defended and fought from 1890 to 1950.

In theory, the same could be done with guns. It would probably take just as long.

I put the essay behind the HIDE bar, because twelve thousand words. (I generally bring this up any time an absolutist argument to the II Amendment comes up.)
