Well genre labeling is a tough one here, but I am adding this to my Post Millennial Progressive playlist on Spotify. Fwiw. Instrumental, mix of interesting keyboard and guitar harmonies.

Hamilton 68: Putin apparently trying to incite American Civil War #2

“…If you go on Twitter and search “#civilwar” you will be horrified, disgusted and enraged at best, alarmed at worst. This is basically a thread for Trump supporters to threaten the country with civil war if Trump goes down in some way, whether it be impeachment, charges via Mueller or what-have-you.
….
But what is far worse — and I feel almost sick writing this — the hashtag is also being pushed by Russian trolls/bots.
…..
My source here is the website Hamilton 68, introduced in this diary. It tracks the activities of 600 Twitter accounts known to be linked to Russian influence operations. Check it out.”

Then let there be a Civil War then. Trump is going down and hopefully he’ll take the GOP with him. Mueller seems to be taking his investigation responsibilities very seriously. I have no doubt that he’ll find more than enough dirt on Trump to take this administration out.

If Mueller has enough ammunition, Trump and his sycophants will go down. Whatever fantasy the Rightwingers are running their mouths about will fizzle out just like their other threats of violence. I recall during the Obama years that Rightwingers often ran their mouths on the internet about what they’d do if President Obama won, if same sex marriage was legalized by SCOTUS, if healthcare passed, etc. Nothing happened.

Trump’s likely partnering with someone else to trademark the name on to an existing or planned casino. Trump wont have to outlay any money and will profit from the royalties of someone else building/operating a casino.

Trump went bankrupt 6 times (3 of them occurring nearly simultaneously on his casino operations). He made spectacularly awful deals and decisions regarding his casinos, and he’s changed his business model to take advantage of royalties rather than building stuff outright.

Putin wants this nation to disintegrate and has been working hard on realizing his goal. Thanks to the election of Trump, he may achieve this desire.

We survived the first Civil War — thanks to the primitive technology and our distance from Europe. It’s not clear that would be possible if we truly had a Civil War Part II. On the other hand, it is unlikely that any states would actually take up arms against the federal government, as opposed to individual actions by reactionaries like Bundy.

63
makeitstop  Aug 6, 2017 • 5:03:05pm

This is some bullshit, right here.

A group of bikers allegedly attacked a New Jersey family on the road in Middlesex County in what looks to be a racially-motivated crime.

As WCBS 880’s Mike Smeltz reported, Mohammad Ghazanfar was driving in a two-car caravan from John F. Kennedy International Airport to his home in Galloway Township.

He was in one of the cars with his wife, and his sister, her husband, and their kids were in another, according to Mohammad.

It was around 12 in the morning when Mohammad says he and his family stopped for a coffee at a Wawa convenience store on King George’s Road in Woodbridge Township.

There, at a nearby light, Mohammad says a group of motorcyclists — for some unknown reason — allegedly started battering his sister’s van.

“They’re yelling, cursing, kicking the car and all I see in the mirror, and then I see it’s my sister’s car,” Mohammad told WCBS 880.

He claims he then got out of his car to try to get an explanation for the allegedly random attack.

“This guy comes around from the other side, he swings at me, he punches me in my face, then he started cursing saying, you know the f-word, ‘you effing Indian,’ this and that,” he said.

Windows on both Mohammad’s car and his sister’s car were smashed, and Mohammad got a couple of cuts on his face but is otherwise okay.

The Woodbridge Police Department says so far, no arrests have been made as they continue to look for whoever was behind the attack.

I heard an update while out driving earlier. The guy says he’s not sure whether he wants to live in the US any more, and I can’t say as I blame him.

But note the URL - a Trump merch site.

I heard a lot of those bots include that URL.

Work backwards from the assumption that you’re always right (correct) and right (moral). If you’re a big enough narcissist, then you can be a cynic and an idealist at the same time, since “truth” only exists relative to its utility-function in the moment.

My regional newspaper has a report on the Coen Brothers casting call in Scottsbluff my wife and I attended.

starherald.com

They wanted to see if they had what it takes to play an extra in a Coen brothers Western.

But what does it take?

Well, for this particular Western (called “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs”), the Oscar-winning filmmakers are looking for about 50 “ordinary” Nebraskans — for families with children older than 10 and for women with long, natural hair and for men with beards and mustaches — to play the settlers of a wagon train in the 1800s.

About 700 people, most from the area but some from much farther, came to the theater Tuesday night for an open casting call.

3/ protrump45.com is still online but it seems to have Ben wiped clear of the “nicole mincey” griftbot persona.

4/ Last night I saw that barely labeled sponsored content pieces on nicole’s heroic life story had been published by daily caller, wnd etc.

5/ Those bogus sponsored content pieces were part of the basis for explainer on heavy.com which vouched for Nicole’s identity.

6/ Now they’ve rewritten their piece to say they’ve now been contacted by a woman whose identity was stolen to produce this bot account.

7/ I was deep deep down this rabbit hole late last night but hadn’t checked back on it. Lots happened since. Possible identity theft …

8/ police report prompted twitter to suspend her account and affiliated network of protrump boys.

“It was like he was trying to cause a rear end accident,” Best said. “That was what made me pick up my phone and start recording.”

She says she did not look at the driver as she passed him.

It wasn’t until she arrived at work and called Lancaster Police to report the driver that she noticed something more.

“The officer asked me if I could make out a license plate,” Best said. “I got to looking through the video and pausing and pausing - I get to a point where I pause and I look and he’s just pointing a gun at me.”

After the bill Trump signed, all he would really have to do is state that the sanctions are the best response until Russia ends its attacks on the US.

I think Trump, via Tillerson, will attempt to respond by “compensating” for the sanctions in some way.

With apologies, I didn’t like the 1970s concept bands for the most part. I ate up my brother’s Jethro Tull albums, but when I approached ELP, Yes, Procul Haram (sp?), King Crimson, etc., I was left cold. There was once an odd exception: in 1982 I as in Japan as an exchange student and a friend from a restaurant I had been working at as a busboy sent me a carbon copy of a credit card signed by Fripp on which he wrote “man of too many notes”. (My friend was a wonderkind guitarist playing at 16 for a super popular local band.)

Turns out that Adrian Belew was living in town at the time and King Crimson was either practicing or recording for “Three of a Perfect Pair.” I picked it up later just because and loved it. I learned to love lots of difficult stuff later, too. At some point, I’ll go back to the original prog stuff. It probably won’t take, but I’ll give it a shot.
