Trump Hides, Sends Jeff Sessions Out to Announce the End of DACA

In the Trump Horror’s ongoing campaign to destroy everything good about America by undoing everything good President Obama did, he sent his crony Jeff Sessions out to announce the end of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy today, because Trump was too cowardly to announce it himself.

The worst president the United States has ever had. He’s a heartless monster.

Trump Boys Gather Rations Of Comic Books, Candy Bars For Night Hiding From Special Prosecutors In Makeshift Rose Garden Fort

WASHINGTON—Saying they could “live out here in the wild for months” if they had to, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. reportedly spent Wednesday rounding up supplies of comic books and candy bars as they prepared to hide out that night from special prosecutors in their makeshift White House Rose Garden fort.

According to sources, the Trump boys were seen carrying pillows, fruit snacks, a Connect Four game, an assortment of action figures, a screwdriver, a pair of plates from the State Dining Room’s china service, and other supplies, making several trips out to the blanket fort where they planned to lie low during Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into links between Russia and their father’s presidential campaign.

“No one’s getting inside here—this place is super secure,” said Donald Jr., dumping a pillowcase filled with butter knives, a deck of Pokémon cards, and several individually wrapped Swiss cake rolls onto the fort’s grass floor. “We can forage during the day and sleep here at night. Mueller’s never gonna find us, not with all those leaves and twigs we put on the roof for camouflage.”

“Even if he did, he’d never get past our booby traps,” added Donald Jr., referring to the thorny branches the brothers had gathered from nearby rose bushes and placed around the fort’s perimeter.

Sources stated that the fort, located 30 feet from the West Wing Colonnade, has walls built from cardboard and loose piles of scrap wood, while its roof consists of blankets stripped from the president’s bed, which are draped over bushes and held down on the sides with a paperweight from the Resolutedesk and a bronze bust of Martin Luther King Jr. The entrance flap, which the Trump boys keep pulled shut at all times to conceal themselves from any lawyers seeking to question them about Russian interference in the election, is reportedly made from a tattered flag flown by the 29th Massachusetts Infantry during the Battle of Antietam.

I know it’s been projected for quite some time that white people will become a minority in the US sometime this century - I forgot when.

I think what we’re seeing is obvious; the GOP is establishing the foundations for white minority rule going forward. A slightly softer version of South Africa’s former apartheid system, but a system that is essentially designed to perpetuate the (projected) white minority as the ruling class.

This is the endgame of GOP politics. The voter suppression efforts, the purging of voter rolls, ending DACA and I’m sure more immigration restrictions against non-Caucasians on the horizon.

Robert E. Lee’s Descendant Leaves Church After Denouncing White Supremacy

The descendant of Confederate General Robert E. Lee, Rev. Robert Lee IV, has left the Bethany United Church of Christ after receiving backlash for his denouncement of white supremacy at the MTV Video Music Awards last week.

On Monday, an open letter by Lee describing the events that unfolded after his speech was published on a website for the Auburn Seminary. In the piece, Lee wrote that some members of the church “were concerned” about his speech and that the attention it brought to the church wasn’t desired.

“My presence at the church as a descendent of Robert E. Lee and an outspoken opponent of white supremacy had already attracted attention, but with my appearance on MTV the media’s focus on my church reached an all time high,” he wrote. “A faction of church members were concerned about my speech and that I lifted up Black Lives Matter movement, the Women’ s March, and Heather Heyer as examples of racial justice work.”

I wonder if he’ll get time on Fox to talk about how liberals are discriminated against by bible thumping racists?

Not all Californians are happy about the lack of a white majority. They are the minority, but they do exist in significant numbers.

I was thinking this morning that perhaps we here, and many social liberals, believe in a form of American Exceptionalism that is a bit different from the conservative version. This version involves Americans being more open, more caring and more accepting of change than people in most parts of the world. The sad truth is that people are people-everywhere and at all times. Americans are just the same as Rwandans, WWII Germans, as well as people whose sole mission in life is to alleviate suffering wherever it occurs.

By mid-century, whites (assuming the same definition as today, because “white” has changed quite a bit in this country over the years) will be a plurality. Pew projects that whites will be about 45% of the population by 2065. Also of interest is that they are projecting that the number of foreign born Hispanics will drop to 31% (currently at 47%) and will be passed by Asians (currently 26% rising to 38%).

Those numbers don’t consider mixed race/ethnicity births that are also likely to rise sharply between now and then. Nor do they, I suspect, consider whether someone who is fourth or fifth generation Latino will end up being considered white.

I see where some are saying this is Trump continuing to undo everything that Obama did, especially his Executive Orders.

One thing Trump can never take from Obama is his humanness and his big loving heart. Also he outclasses Trump and is way more intelligent.

Trump is always in need of constant stroking of his ego. To show how ignorant he really is, he has no idea that he is making himself a place in history as an ugly, heartless human and probably the worst U.S. President in the modern age, if not forever.

So no stroking that ego into the future after he is gone. He will be remembered for being an asshole.

Well the thing with Hispanics is many still identify as white. Honestly, this is just part of how a country changes. In the early years of the Republic, the country was predominately white, Protestant, and of Northern European background. By century’s end, we had more Catholics and were starting to see Eastern and Southern Europeans too. That’s how I see the change.

Again, depends on how you categorize Hispanics/Latinos. The census counts ethnicity separate from race. So while 14m of California’s 37.2m residents were counted as Hispanic or Latino in 2010, the census also counted 21.4m people as white.

It’s because race and ethnicity are different things. David Ortiz is black and Hispanic (and Latino, for that matter). Andy Garcia is white and Hispanic/Latino. Most people don’t understand the differences so they conflate the social constructs into one thing. End of the day, you’re right, it’s going to change. The question is how badly certain segments of white America is going to fight it and how much the rest will embrace it.

I mean I know why. It’s Obama and Clinton’s home city but it’s just pathetic.

That is not it totally. Chicago is seen by the haters as #1 Black City in America with Gangs and Crime.

And no amount of facts or anything else will change that. It is America’s city to crap on by the bigots. It’s been going on for a long long time.

re: #71 freetoken

My own preference would be to junk both words (race, ethnicity) as they are so burdened with misleading ideas from the past.

There are cultures, and there is genetics. The latter destroys the idea of “race”, and the former is hard to summarize in just a single word.

I tend to agree with that. I really don’t like the idea of race, but it is one of those things that has become so ingrained in the modern world, I’m not sure how we do away with it. Ethnicity is a bit more complex, because it involves things like cultural traditions, language, religion, and geography (for example, someone from Spain is Hispanic but not Latino, while someone from Brazil is Latino but not Hispanic), and can be somewhat useful from a sociological/anthropological point of view.

MS-13 unfortunately is a problem here in the D.C area but there’s also a lot of great El Salvadorian immigrants who are students, business owners, etc. My SiL’s older sister’s husband is one of them. Guy speaks three languages, works at law firm, and is quite honestly one of the most kind people I know. My grandmother is literally his sister in law’s grandmother in law and he’s always so friendly and considerate to her when he visits. And the poor guy has been through so much.

When putting together my spreadsheet of Nashville Statement signers one of the fields I have is race. Anyone that I can’t obviously tell what their race is or if I can’t find a picture they get an X next to their name until I figure it out. Normally, I wouldn’t care about race except the whole point of this exercise was to show how many white males signed on to this thing as compared to minorities and women. And to be rude and crude about it, it’s a real raw sausage fest when 81% of the signers are white men.

(and they keep adding white guys to the list. It’s like they don’t care or they’re not even getting the hint.)

On the FBI’s list of gangs and the problems they cause, MS-13 is down the list—they’re there, but way behind several biker gangs.

Yeah, but we don’t have cool TV shows about Latin gangs, we get those about biker gangs that make them not seem as terrible. Plus, I’m sure there’s some other defining characteristic that I can’t quite put my finger on.

Those numbers don’t consider mixed race/ethnicity births that are also likely to rise sharply between now and then. Nor do they, I suspect, consider whether someone who is fourth or fifth generation Latino will end up being considered white.

If they look white, they will be considered white.

I’m fuming and freaking out right now.

I ran over to the local Staples store to pick up a few things. As I got out of my truck, I looked in the window of the car next to mine, and saw a baby. In a car with all of the windows closed, not running.

It’s 80 degrees here today.

I found the store manager and told him there was a baby in a car in front of his store. He called the cops.

Fucking people. That poor baby did not look good at all. I’m hoping like hell she’s okay.
